The Westin Chicago North Shore - Wheeling

The Westen in Wheeling, Il was impressive. Staff was friendly and offered great service.

Far from the city but has enough restaurants around. Room was not clean to the standards that should be expected. There was lots of dust on furnitures and maintenance seemed careless.

Was Robbed, the door must not have closed all the way and someone broke in while sleeping and stole our wallets and purses. Make sure to shut your door but other than that great hotel

The hotel was clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy, just regular amenities. Good for the price. Convenient to the Executive Airport where we were stranded. The Italian restaurant in the hotel was very good with a good waiter as well.

To start my GPS took me in the wrong direction do I needed to call the hotel desk for directions. She gave me the wrong directions and I was over 30 minutes out of my way. When I got there they gave no direction of how to get to my room and I walked around looking like a fool. Finally I found my room and there was no refridgerator for my perishables, […] just a "cooler". Later as I was getting ready I found dead bugs all over the room. When I complained to staff all they said was "thank you for staying with us" I was not happy. Mehr

We were very please with personnel taking the extra step to insure we had a wonderful stay, through the room assignments to assistance or awareness of our every need. We felt very comfortable and will make this hotel our first choice with future stays in this area. Thanks!

Basically a Super 8 room with a nice bed. Way overpriced. Room didn't even have a working refrigerator in it ! Says you have to request one at check in.

Nice hotel and cheaper I never though.

The westin was great. It was the only hotel we have ever stayed in that the bathroom tub was so clean that I actually indulged in a bath in the tub. Never have I felt that the bathroom in any hotel was ever clean enough for that. We were in a corner room with a great view of the river and a forested area that went on for miles. Clean modern hotel, best option for that area. No minibar, limited services, limited staff due to suburban location. Non-valet parking about 100 yards walk, could be cold in winter. But reliable Westin room.

We stayed here for a one night getaway and it was perfect for that. The staff were friendly and professional. The facilities, especially the pool and hot tub were very nice. The room was clean, comfortable and modern. The breakfast service in the morning was also good. Nothing negative to say about this place.

Excellent accommodations! Wonderful and caring staff!

altho we only spent One night at the Westin. We did go out for the week end and found the Westin resort a very comfortable hotel to stay in. The rooms were very clean and check in was easy and friendly, our stay was uneventful as we like it . The rooms were very quiet and the staff were all cordial. W would stay there again

We stayed at the Millennium Kickerbocker about 3 years ago. We really liked the hotel and location at a fair price, which made us want to stay there again.

From the time we entered the lobby of this hotel we were surrounded by comfort and care. The staff greeted us with friendly smiles and welcomes. We were asked if celebrating a special occasion, which we were, our anniversary! They upgraded our room and when we came back from a special night in Chicago there was wine, wine glasses, and a card signed […] by the staff wishing us a happy 32nd anniversary. As for the hotel it was great. My wife and I had a great time relaxing. Everything was great. It is easy access from major roads and even though it is not downtown, it was only about 25 min away from Shedd Aquarium.

We enjoyed our stay and the service the hotel staff provided. The location was excellent, with many restaurants, services and stores within walking distance or within a short drive.

Very nice hotel and rooms. The only issue we had was with the indoor pool. It was closed and the front desk advised until further notice. There was not a sign posted and a worker inside was on his phone texting while people were trying to get in the door. He never acknowledged the guests.

We stayed on the 14th floor overlooking the southern direction of Wheeling. It was quite a remarkable view. The hotel was modern in style with a clean, white color and cool pics of Chicago on the wall. Close to a ton of amazing restaurants and local taverns. I highly recommend if you're in the area, stay here!

My family of 4 spent the night because my husband was attending a seminar at the hotel. We were all very comfortable. The pool was beautiful and temperature was great. The staff was very kind and helpful. We had a terrific stay. Highly recommeded for everyone!

We found this hotel to be very pleasant aesthetically with a friendly staff. The room was very comfortable, but noise from the hall and adjacent rooms was a problem. The main restaurant for the hotel recently closed, so meal arrangements on the premises were difficult. (There are several good restaurants that are a short drive away.) They were very […] focussed on a chess tournament and several weddings during the weekend we were there, resulting in less attention to regular guests. The gift shop/snack shop closed too early, at 9:30 pm. The "business center" had only 2 computer terminals and 1 printer, so that it was necessary to wait in line for 20 minutes just to print boarding passes for the flight home. In spite of the minor negative items, we liked the place and would stay there again. Mehr

My girlfriend and I picked out this hotel thinking we would have a good nights stay, but boy I was wrong. Starting from when we first made our reservation, I called to ask if I could check in by myself since my girlfriend lives further away (she reserved the room with her card under my name) and was told that there was no reservation under those names. […] I thought, "Ok. Maybe just give a little more time for the reservation to process." So I waited a few hours and went to the hotel to ask if I can check in without her. They checked her name and there was still no reservation. I showed them the confirmation number and they still couldn't find it, until I had given them my name. The lady made it seem like it was my fault for not giving out my name in the beginning, and acted rude, which was very unpleasant. During this whole time, there was a lady that walked up complaining about their key card not working, and another lady looking really disappointed, demanding to speak to a manager. I was so glad that my girlfriend wasn't around to see this, but I thought "At least I have the room now". So after all this, I finally got my room key and was able to get in with success (you have to pull the key out slowly) and checked out the room for anything that might be wrong. Just as I thought everything was going to be ok, I opened the mini fridge and found an opened, half eaten sausage, just laying there! This really was the "cherry on top" for me, was extremely disappointed. I went back downstairs and the manager was there with the front desk attendants. I calmly went up to them and said " I checked out the room, and there is a half eaten sausage in the refrigerator. I would appreciate it if you could get it out of there by the time I come back with my girlfriend." I couldn't imagine anything worse that could happen for a first time staying at this hotel. We really enjoyed our stay.

My boyfriend and I live not too far from the hotel, but wanted to have a romantic night out and the Westin was perfect. From the wonderfully polite staff to the amazing dinner at Tramonto's it was everything we were looking for! PS highly recommend the lounge upstairs for cocktails!

Comfortable rooms. Convenient layout for my daughter's dance convention.

I would reccomend the hotel but nort the restaurant.

Everything about this place says "this should be great"...however.....very caring, attentive staff, but key areas woefully understaffed and ill prepared for our convention......management needs to play closer attention to bookings and attention to detail --they diminshed the effect of a great staff!

We've stayed in this hotel 3 times now, and all is good. My husband accidentally dropped is cell phone and someone turned in and notified us. Good service.

This hotel was AWESOME!!!! The location was perfect. There was alot 2 do in the area, great restaurants, shopping, scenery, and did I say LOCATION! Not the hustle & bustle of the city, very quaint. Great service, pool was great my daudhter was wrinkle every night we were there, from staying in the pool. The hotel was upscale and very pleasant but had a few disappointments. Heavenly bedding. Goofy double shower head. Room WiFi was $10/day but lobby WiFi was free. Room WiFi didn't work at first due to access point issues. Spent an hour on the phone with hotel tech support before working around issues. It would have been easier to change rooms. Lobby […] coffee wasn't maintained. Bathroom's toilet paper dispenser kept falling off the wall, almost on my toe. As usual, the guest became quality control. Mehr

The hotel was great.

The hotel is nice - good restaurants within walking distance. Remote for TV didn't work and we were told we could check in early, but in the end, we couldn't. And the convenience store food was way over priced (surprise) but it was a nice room/hotel.
