I had read a few negative reviews, but booked the hotel anyway, because it is close to the airport and we had an early morning flight out of Dublin. We were positively surprised! Very clean, friendly staff (though we had to wait for the pizza for quite a while in the bar area) and comfy rooms - if you aren't expecting luxury. Shuttle service to the […] airport for 2€ was quick and convenient. There are several busses going to the city center (eg. O'Connell Street), though apparently number 4 is best - stops right across the street from the hotel. I'd say a great price for what you get and would stay there again! Mehr

Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist okay. Wir hatten nur eine Übernachtung, da wir in Richtung Süden weitergereist sind.

Ich habe nur eine Nacht in diesem Hotel verbracht und es gebucht da es einen sehr günstigen Flughafenshuttle anbietet.Das Hotel liegt etwa 10 Autominuten vom Flughafen entfernt und der Shuttleservice ist ab 4 Uhr morgens buchbar. Für meinen frühen Flug am nächsten Morgen war das sehr wichtig. Das Hotel selbst ist modern, sauber und das Personal ist […] sehr freundlich. Da die Umgebung des Hotels eher aus Bürogebäuden und anderen Hotels besteht, würde ich für einen ausgedehnten Städtetrip nach Dublin aber ein anderes, zentraler gelegenes Hotel empfehlen. Mehr

Das Hotel ist nicht überausragend, aber für eine Nacht reicht es völlig aus. Und wenn man es nur für eine Nacht braucht, darf man nicht so hohe Ansprüche haben. Passt.

Super Lage zum Flughafen, jedoch das beinhaltet auch eine nicht so tolle Umgebung. Wir mussten eine Stunde auf den Bus ins Zentrum warten - war zwar nur eine Ausnahme, jedoch ziemlich ärgerlich. Zimmer war ausreichend groß, beinhaltete alles, was man für eine Nacht - auf den Ablug wartend - braucht. Da es Samstag Nacht war, sind wir dann doch nicht […] mit dem Bus ins Hotel gefahren, sondern mit dem Taxi - es schien uns für die Gegend etwas klüger zu sein. Fazit: Super Lage zum Flughafen - wenn man nur für eine Nacht eine Unterkunft braucht - ansonsten nicht sehr empfehlenswert. Mehr

Schöne Zimmer, freundliches Personal, einziges Minus, etwas laut

Stayed here April 2012. Very good value and check in was very quick. Our room was nice but very noisy from traffic outside on Ballymun Road. We asked for another room and the hotel was quickly helpful and we were given one at the back which was much quieter but did smell of cigarette smoke. The metro hotel is close to the airport, has pretty good free wireless Internet, nice bar restaurant, however the parking lot is difficult.

The staff was eager in several service areas where we required help and knowledgable about cost saving methods and options that made our stay reasonable and enjoyable. Room size was overcome by the value of their service and cleanliness. A good value for our time and money.

Good value for money. Stayed at this hotel coming on a late flight and wanted to visit ikea before heading back to Galway. Arrived around midnight and it took around 10 min before anyone would open the door. I was greeted with "sorry this hotel is booked out tonight". I was surprised since I had booked the room online the day before. When the man at […] the reception figured out that I had the room booked, I got a nice welcome. The room was clean but the teaspoons at the coffee/tea making station were dirty. I think the cleaner forgot to change them. Mehr

massive, comfortable bed. ! nice, clean bathroom. speedy, frequent shuttle service to airport. 2 euros pp. downsides : regulation furniture all a bit squashed into space of my room though - a tight squeeze between large desk and king sized bed. bashed into it at least once! and... could hear the people talking in the next room all too clearly through […] the shared (but locked) adjoining door to our rooms !? Had a late arrival, no problem with checkin, however restaurant was closed (closes 9.30pm) and nothing within walking distance. Bar menu was very limited, soup, sandwich or pizza. We had pizza and it was ok. For a quick overnight before an early flight or, as in our case, an early visit to Ikea (just across the road) it was fine. A simple hotel that is neat and tidy. Was a great venue close to NSAI (the standards institute) and it was on the bus lines if you needed to get to town. Staff were great. Good value for money near the airport.

This hotel is great if you are headed to DUB airport. I would not select this hotel if you want to go sightseeing in Dublin as it is slightly more difficult to get to city centre. It is still doable, there are just many more convenient hotels. The service was great. I had called down to the front desk to reserve a taxi - completely painless. Great location for the airport, friendly staff, convenient restaurant serving god food. Park the car and get shuttle to the airport couldn't be easier. My third time staying there.

very nice and helpful staff, the hotel was located near the airport with a regular cheap shuttle to the airport, considering it didn't cost that much for myself and my sister to stay there i found it great value for money.

This hotel was ideal for the airport. they offer a shuttle bus or it is near to drive. Very reasonable at 49 euros so cant do better than that. Well maintained hotel and the bar / restaurant was good. I would really recommend the Chiabatti Open sandwich with Philadelphia cheese pesto and wonderful soft sun-dried tomatoes. It was delicious.

very comfortable very convenient to airport very friendly staff

We just needed a place to stay near the airport before flying home. This one was perfect for that.

Great if you are using Dublin airport, but maybe not the best location for a romantic getaway. However, everything was clean and comfortable and the rooms seemed to be fairly soundproof which is a real bonus.

Cheap and close to airport

Good hotel with free wifi and nice room with all amenties.

We have stayed at this hotel twice recently and found it ideal for the airport. Rooms were nice and clean and the airport shuttle is frequent. I would say the continental breakfast is better value than the Full Irish. The area is not the best, but for an airport stay it doesn't really matter.

So first of all, besides being near the airport, the location of this hotel is terrible. There is absolutely nothing near it. There is a single, incredibly high-prices Chinese restaurant, and there is nothing to see or do. So unless you are just sleeping, or for some reason just have to be a mile closer to the airport, there is no reason to stay here. Due […] to the distance from anything, your only option for food is the hotel restaurant. My experience with the restaurant was a very dark and gloomy place, with poor service and almost no other guests. However, if for some reason took ~30 minutes to get 2 cheeseburger meals. At a cost of 25 Euros, this was very unacceptable. The room itself was fine, pretty much average as far as European hotels go. The television was awful, the screen had a red tint to it and I think I got 6 channels at the most. The reason I was forced to use the TV was because even though I booked this hotel specifically for the free wireless internet in the room, it did not work. I had three different devices and none of them could get any internet at all. I went down twice to tell the front desk staff and they had no solution and took no action. Overall, this seemed like a hotel that has gone well past its prime. The fact that the internet did not work is pretty unbelievable in 2011, and with a hotel that bills itself to travelers. The location makes it completely isolated. The service overall was below, or at average at best. There is no reason at all to stay at this hotel if you have any other choice, even for a few dollars more, stay somewhere else. Mehr

A superb breakfast, but buy your coupons on the first day of arrival. 8 EUR instead of 10.50 EUR. The twin bedded room was extremely small.

close to airport

Great hotel offering very good rates for people travelling to and from airport. Shuttle driver was very friendly and helpful and the room was very comfortable. I have stayed there on several occasions and will do so again. Its also very near IKEA if you want to go shopping!

Excellent Hotel. £/$10 for an all you can eat breakfast, of HIGH quiality food. Exceptionaly friendly staff. Secure underground car park, and public transport links practically outside the Hotel. Cheap shuttle to/from the airport. nice hotel convenient for airport and motorway . staff friendly. prices at bar are a bit over the top and buffet breakfast was not value for meney very limited selection of hot food 4 items you could go to a pub in town and have a better value meal . it charges top prices for a hotel that is no where near city centre

I selected The Metro Hotel for ease of access to and from the airport since I was arriving and departing on 'red eye' flights. On arrival I received a room upgrade for my one night stay and expected only to be able to check in and leave my bag, but was delighted to be given my room at 08.30. It was bright, clean and safe, fulfilling all basic requirements […] but a bit noisy from traffic. Hard to believe it had double glazing. I elected to take the bus into town (25 minutes off peak) knowing I would be spending more on a late night taxi back (20 minutes) after the bus service had finished for the day. Not a good area to hang around in. That is the hotel's main downfall. All in all I was very pleased for the rate I found online. Very friendly driver on the shuttle bus and friendly and helpful at reception. Mehr

Lovely staff, very clean, beds are so comfortable, rooms spacious, value for money, taxi service & corner shops at hand & check out time not until 12.00 which is great. Thankyou Metro hotel

The hotels.com info says that the hotel is 2 miles from the airport. Our flight was late and we missed the shuttle by a few minutes so we had to take a taxi - 14.85 Euros, not including tip. I have the receipt in front of me - 6.4km. The night receptionist, Conner, was very apologetic and offered to make it up to us be offering us a free shuttle back […] to the airport in the morning and a trip to the breakfast buffet before it opened (not everything was ready but the fruit bowl and hot tea were much appreciated). However, there wasn't hot water in the morning. We just wanted one night close to the airport to get some rest and freshen up. I wasn't able to take a shower and traveled 18 hours the next day feeling just awful. We were also on the first floor and not only was traffic loud, we could literally hear conversations outside, so we didn't sleep well either. Most people want an airport hotel to get a quick night's rest and to freshen up before a flight. If this is what you're looking for, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Mehr

if you have a choice, do not stay here

I just needed a place to stay before a very early flight. This was perfect. A pleasant pub on the ground floor and a quick ride to the airport at the hour I requested.

I was surprised that the hotel allowed smoking. I stayed on the fourth floor and when the door elelvator opened, the stench of cigarettes was right in your face. Fortunately, our room barely smelled cigarettes.

Hotel was a typical airport hotel. Bartender was rude, front desk clerk gave us a suggestion for a restaurant that was just terrible. Never eat at the Mandalay restaurant.
