Das Hotel ist ziemlich abgewohnt. Der Duschkopf ist nicht richtig befestigt gewesen, so das er beim duschen herunter fiel. Die Dame an der Rezeption wollte mir keine Rechnung ausstellen, da ich ja über das internet gebucht hätte. Ich sollte mir dann auch von der Buchungsgesellschaft eine Rechnung ausstellen lassen. Kann jetzt zusehen, wer mir den Geschäftsaufenthalt […] bezahlt. Das Frühstück ist auch nicht besonders zu empfehlen. Das Essen im Restaurant war gut, aber zu teuer. Mehr

We spent our last night in Ireland at this hotel and it was what I expected. It was a typical airport hotel, looks a little tired but is very convenient to the airport. I was surprised they did not have an airport shuttle but they would have gladly ordered a cab for us -- we kepy our rental car overnight and drove to the airport (5 minute drive). The […] room was okay -- dark. It was clean, linen perhaps a little grey but clean. Hallway smelled a little smokey. Negatives include kids running up and down the hall using their "outside" voices and someone breaking a glass right outside our room. Positives included the food in the Pub -- same as restaurant. Both the bartender and the waitress suggested the Beef & Chicken Stir-fry and it was very good as was the burger my husband ordered. Mehr

My family (three of us) stayed here one night while touring all over Ireland and by comparison to some places, it was very nice! I read reviews that called the hotel "dated", and I guess I can see some of that but the decor is also attempting to stay in a period I believe. I found it interesting anyway. If you want a bright, boring super 8, stay at […] a super 8. Our room was very large and comfortable. We checked in a little later & the dinning room was already full so we had to eat in the bar but no complaints as the food was reasonably priced and they had live Irish music that night. It was actually pretty cool. Breakfast was ok. All the usual choices; eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, cereals and some danishes. There was a fuel station next door so we were able to fuel up and grab some snacks for the road early the next morning. No complaints here! Mehr

I recently stayed at the Oakwoods Arms in Shannon with 9 other members of my family and not one of us was disappointed with the quality of this hotel and the service provided by it's staff. We stayed three nights at the Oak Wood Arms and I enjoyed every minute of my stay. The breakfast buffet had many choices and the coffee was delicious and plentiful. I recently spent the better part of a week @ the Oak wood Arms Shannon. The hotel is a well designed lodge style hotel. The woodwork is beautiful and very fitting. breakfast buffet was very good as was the lunch in Sophie's lounge. the rooms are a little dated but a very good deal for the money

Arrived to the hotel off the last flight into Shannon on a Saturday night at the end of November 2011. There was a sign leaving the airport that we were just five minutes from the hotel - but nothing after that. The name of the roundabout on the Google map is not the same as the signs on the roundabouts themselves, and there are no hotel signposts that […] stood out for us. When we eventually found ourselves on the street to the hotel, we saw its illuminated sign and drove to that expecting the entrance to be nearby. It's not!! We had to do a U-turn and go through an almost unlit entrance into the carpark. The person manning Reception also doubled as the night watchman, but we were lucky that there were still people in the bar, and one of those was an off-duty employee who was able to get him for us. I had booked a twin room, but we were allocated a double room. I was too tired at this stage to complain. The bed was super comfy and the shower next morning was the best I've ever experienced in an Irish hotel. We didn't stay for breakfast as our plans changed. If it had been easier to locate the hotel and the entrance to the hotel on a dark wet night, I might have appreciated the good things more, but they left a lasting impression which soured my overall visit. We had a great time and the hotel and the staff were excellent. Close to the airport. We dined in the restaurant and the food, service and price were a surprise value. We really enjoyed the meal. This is a place I hope to visit again on our next trip tp Ireland.

We stayed on a recent trip to Limerick and found the hotel to be perfect for our requirements for a one night stay - clean, comfortable, lovely staff, good food - overall very good value for money.

We were going to a wedding in bunratty and booked this as it was so close.We were really impressed with everything about the hotel.When we arrived we got some lunch in the bar which was lovely and the surroundings were realy homely.Our room was perfect-it actually had a proper double bed which we were delighted with!!Normaly its 2 beds pushed together […] so it was great! We also got a smoking room which we didnt expect so that was great.The breakfast the next morning was lovely and all the staff was really nice.All this for a great price 2!! We stayed at the Oakwood Arms at the end of our trip around Ireland. Proximity to the Shannon Airport was key due to our early morning flight. The rooms are nothing special and the hotel is a bit of a maze, but it was comfortable. The pub was nice and it's a quick taxi ride to the airport. Worth the rate and convenience.

Not often you come across a hotel that's close and convenient to an airport with this much character. Great decor and rooms are fabulous Staff was very friendly and good.

reasonable value for money - stayed one night after wedding - good venue for weddings - private reception area quite rare in hotels - nice public bar with friendly staff - lobby areas a little dated

This was my favorite hotel during my stay in Ireland. We had a true king size bed with bedding that looked and felt crisp and clean. We felt very comfortable. The area was quiet and the service was top notch. The food at the restaurant was excellent. The employees very friendly and helpful with all our questions.

We spent saturday night at the hotel. Very nice, clean rooms. There was free wired computer service and the hotel was installing wireless. We had one problem with the lights and went to the front desk to request the fix. We ended up staying, eating fries at the bar and listening to the music. It was a wonderful group of surprisingly talented kids and […] older gentlemen who played in the bar for free. (There was even dancing!) We stayed until we got tired. Mehr

This was our second stay at this hotel during a 2 week trip in Ireland. The hotel is conveniently located about a 10 minute drive from the Shannon airport. While the area of Shannon doesn't have much to offer the hotel bar offers a good menu and the convenience of the hotel location for a flight out of Shannon can't be beat. This is a great location if you're flying in or out of Shannon. Shannon itself has nothing to offer but the hotel is conveniently located to the airport and provides decent service for an "airport hotel".

Thought this hotel was much better than most ratings. Got a great price and was very happy with room. Shannon is a small town and hotel was perfect because we wanted a hotel close enough to Bunratty Castle....you need a car if you are planning to do the banquet to hotel

I had a short stay at the hotel (arriving late evening and leaving early morning). The staff was friendly on my arrival and departure. The hotel looks amazing and even the pub connected had a nice relaxed vibe. I definitely recommend and would book again on my next visit to Shannon.

Best hotel and convenient to shannon airport and I've stayed on all of them!

I was very happy with my stay here. It was easy get a taxi to and from Bunratty. It was also a very easy walk over to the skycourt mall area. The staff of the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice and modern.

Spent the night before our flight out of Shannon. Location is great, staff was friendly and efficient, room was large and clean, bathrooms had plenty of counter space. Tub and shower could use an upgrade. As the name implies, there's wonderful oak woodwork throughout the hotel....it's worth the price of a bee in the pub just to admire the ceiling. I found it easy to get to surrounding towns via bus or train, since I didn't drive. The staff at reception as well as the dining room were exceptional and went out of their way to help with any directions or instructions on how to get anywhere. Courteous, kind and friendly was very sad to leave and can't wait to go back!!

Comfortable hotel but my stay was spoiled by a large foghorn type noise coming from the bathroom pipes? every two hours through the night. Receptionist said no-one had ever heard this before which I find hard to believe

Room and hallways were smoky and gross. Hotel looked rundown and scary. Shower and bathroom were clean, but water kept changing from hot to cold. We chose this hotel because we wanted something convenient and close to the airport, but couldn't wait to check out the next morning.

Hotel was clean and a great location. Staff was nice. The main areas were nice but room needed updating. No lighting - very dark! The restaurant was fair - felt a little over priced. Overall wished we had opted for a bed and breakfast experience.

I can't answer about the surrounding neighborhood because it was pouring rain when I arrived and just parked and ran. The hotel was only a 6 minute drive to Shannon airport. They don't have a shuttle, but arranged a cab to pick me up in the morning for an early flight, and the cab was 10 minutes early ( a good thing as I was ready and waiting) Very […] friendly staff (esp the waiter in the bar). Wake up call on the TV. Never had that before, but it worked like a charm. Security concious travelers would enjoy staying here as you have to ring the front doorbell to be buzzed in to enter the hotel, and at night you need a key to get into the halls to the hotel rooms. Hotel was a little hard to find but convenient to the airport for an early morning flight and rental car return. Fast food and decent restaurants were close by and a gas station right next door for filling the tank of the rental car. Room was large and comfortable. Airport noise was unavoidable being that close but flights stopped during the night and […] resumed early morning. No one at the hotel desk during the night or early in the morning but there was a drop-off for room keys. Doors to hotel were locked at night for security with access by room key. We didn't get a wink of sleep.! Although we requested a room in a quiet part of hotel, our room was beside the main carpark and busy road and there was also a loud function on.

A perfect place to stay when flying in or out of Shannon Airport. Conveniently located, quiet and clean, our rooms were small but thoughtfully appointed. Particularly liked the big screen TV. Sunday night service in the pub was slow, both in being waited upon and getting our food, but the meal was good.
