Sandcastle Oceanfront Resort at the Pavilion - Myrtle Beach

The location of this hotel is ideal, right on the ocean and close to food and shopping. There is a small pool and tiny lazy river which the kids loved, overlooking the ocean. The hotel itself is very outdated and shows no sign of upgrades over the years. We had problems with loud college students in the halls our first night and asked to be moved to […] another room for the second night; we were moved to a room with a similar layout but we had to call maintenance for the a/c twice. We were in town for an event in late April and parking was not ideal, so I forsee the summer months being terrible for parking as the lots are small and spread over a couple different areas. Overall our stay was just okay, but I will not book here again unless it gets a complete overhaul-there are many others to choose from for next time. Mehr

The only problem was there wasn't an indoor pool or jacuzzi in our building and our room key card lost the door code,but it was easy to reset

From the minute I walked in to the hotel I felt unwelcomed. The clerk's at the front desk were not friendly at all. The room was ok but needs updating. The location was the best thing about the hotel. It's near Family Kingdom and several other family friendly sites. The housekeeping staff was not friendly either. Hotel could of had Coffee either in room or in lobby. Had coffee maker in room, but did not furnish coffee. Front desk was helpful but not overly friendly. Did not greet you as walked in the door!

You can spend the day on the beach and the boardwalk, then come back to the hotel and relax in the pool and spa before going out for dinner. I would stay here again.

When we arrived, the room was not ready. The clerk told me that they have until 4pm (according to the sign, but not on the internet) to have the room ready. We then looked at the "suite", not clean, dust on the TV screen. I then asked about complimentary coffee for the comlimentary coffee pot. No, they don't provide that. Asked about an iron, you have […] to come to the desk, pay a $10.00 deposit. When you return the iron and board, you get your deposit back. Everytime the people in the next room flushed their toilet, the pipes vibrated so loudly, that we couldn't sleep. We left early Saturday, instead of Sunday as planned. We will not make a reservation at the Sandcastle hotel again. Mehr

my master bath tub at my house was/is as big as the pools & lazy river....not to mention we reported our tub in the resort room was leaking & no one never did come to check it out & my son fell in the water from the leak & slipped & fell up under the sink area & got his rib cage & side (left) all bruised up from the fall!!!!!......never again will we […] use this resort or reccomend it to friends or family.... the only good thing that we liked about our stay at the sand castle was our room cleaner named SANDY, she was fantastic & very friendly & was very prompt on helping us & getting us what we needed!!!! Very enjoyable and nice people. Especially housekeepers and the two sister I guess the managers,showing that they cared we there was an espisode that happen in room 308.

The house keepers were great, the location was perfect. We stayed while it was a little chilly but the room was beyond comfortable, the place needs a little upkeep but I suppose for the traffic it endures it's only imaginable how bad it gets beat up, lol! my entire family had fun!

The only thing that I was not happy with was the in door poor. There wasnt much excitment for the kids because it was just a plan pool.

We had a great time here! The room size exceeded my expectations and the beds were very cozy! The rooms were clean and the maintinance was fast and curtious. I really enjoyed my stay here and would definatly come back and stay again!

Check In Parking Lot Needs To Rearranged To Provide More Room For Larger Vehicles To Back OutOf Parking Spaces Handicap Parking Should Be Moved To Side, Not At Covered entrance. Needs more lighting in the rooms, and some of the furniture needs updating.

The hotel has a coffee pot, but you have to bring your own coffee.. and the room we stayed in was 2 buildings away from the indoor pool and it was cold so i didnt want to walk outside after getting in the heated pool.

i enjoyed my stay in this hotel. the staff was friendly. the location was great. it was a good price and i don't have any major complaints. the spot on the beach was nice too. not too crowded. overall positive stay.

I wished it had a iron and board in the room, and continental breakfast

This hotel is located right on the beach. It has great views and is very well priced. The rooms are dated as is the hotel however you aren't paying 5 star prices. If you want to be on the beach at a reasonable price I reccommend this hotel. If you want luxury pay more and go somewhere else.

It was one of the best breaks ever the hotel is so clean and the view was great for this price and the hotel is close for every thing I will be back for sure to this hotel

All of the staff with the exception of the night desk manager were great. He was really upset because I ask for two extra blankets. Don't eat at the Care the service is bad and it is two expensive for the amount of food you get.

Yes the hotel is a little dated but it was very convenient to shops and attractions. Also the beach is right outside your door. The 2 pools and lazy river were clean. The hotel staff never bothered us unless needed and were friendly. I would definitely stay here again. The rates were reasonable.

The hotel was better than expected after reading reviews. Room was small but balcony provided a decent view of beach. Parking was sparse but you really don't have to drive anywhere due to the location. Unortunately what was a pleasant stay was ruined by a thieving maid. We had an iPhone charger stolen form our locked room while we were out. The Hotel […] management didn't do anything about it and seemed like they didn't believe us. The hotel service was terrible. House keeping missed our room, when we called the main lobby to question why our room was not cleaned. They could not tell us why and was then advised they were gone for the day. We had no clean towels/towel paper. Never mind the fact that our room key worked in other rooms. One night we got off the wrong floor and used […] our key to a room thinking it was our room and it worked!! Once we walked in and did not see our stuff, we freaked out thinking we got robbed. Walked out the door and realized it was the wrong floor and room. BUT THE KEY WORKED!! The main doors to get into the hotel are not locked, anyone can walk in and wander the hotel. Mehr

I enjoyed my stay very much and will probably stay here again next time we come back to Myrtle Beach.

The hotel was nice enough but I was disappointed when my 82 year old mother feel down in the parking lot and when I ran to the office to try and get help, they were not very responsive. The hotel is close to everything, that was great! They just need some desperate upgrades, new beds upgrade bathrooms and more lights would be good!

The hotel is located not to far from the strip and has a great indoor heated pool just to much chlorine. the only few problems i had with the hotel was that in my first room the shower was not clean but they quickly moved me the second problem was that the hotel doesnt up grade you even if you are staying for a week and the place is empty.

I've never been so disappointed by a hotel before. The pictures are intended to exaggerate. The pool area, inside and out was small. The staff at the front desk were not friendlly (which suprised me because i assumed there'd be southern hospitality) and on the border rude. They behaved as if they were doing us a favor rather than being grateful for […] the business. The towels in the room were paper thin and when I called down to ask for more towels they told me, an 8 months pregnant woman, I had to(waddle) come get it. The check in area was in a completely diffferent building than area than the one I was assigned to. Although it was free, the parking was horrible. The small parking lot attached to the building was always full and the extra parking was two blocks away. They provided two very uncomfortable pillows and when I asked for more they once again told me to come get it and that it was their last 1 left. The room seemed more like an undesirable motel room that hadn't been renovated in over 5 decades. Although it was a tidy room, there was no sense of cleanliness. The hallways, elevator and building lobby (not main lobby) were filthy. The indoor pool was about double the size of a hot tube and half as hot and were always full of people that looked like they were squeezing into a hot tub because there was no room to swim. The so-called river pool was tiny as well. The only good thing I have to say about the hotel is that the rates were unbelievably good. However, you get what you pay for in this case...I wish my Myrtle Beach trip didn't involve the memories of this hotel experience. Mehr

The room could use updating. Smelled like pancakes and syrup any time you used the microwave. Location was great though and the beach and the pools were worth it.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for our anniversary. What a mistake! This hotel does not have many of the simple things that hotels offer such as toothpaste, iron and alarm clock. The parking accomidations were terrible. If you are unable to park at your building you have to reverse out of the parking lot unto the very busy Ocean Blvd because there […] is no way to turn around! The parking garage is located two streets in front of the hotel and very dark. The beds were very hard, the room had an unpleasant smell, and the nothing in the room was even remotely up to date. Made me wonder when was their renovation done. Looks like it had to have been in the 70's. Additionally $1 for 10 ounces of water at the vending maching is ridiculous. I know hotels typically charge more at vending machines but that is crazy. Lastly, like other people have already stated, the walls are thin and you can definitely hear the people next door. Mehr

An excellent location for vacationing on Myrtle Beach. Staff are courteous and helpful. Accomocations are clean and comfortable.

Our hotel room only had the small lamps on the wall, with what looked like a light was supposed to be over the little table in the room but it was gone. and probably a minor issue but with small children, the underside of the beds were accessable by my kids.

Personnel was extremely nice. room was not cleaned while we were there (we stayed 2 nights) Walls were very thin, you could hear the elevator each time some one used it. Also the other guest were noisy.There was limited parking on the side by the motel, if you missed out on those you have to park across the street or behind another motel in the parking […] garage. The location of this hotel is fantastic. It is right on the beach! The view was beautiful from the oceanfront room. Hot water was at a premium and the facut leaked, but overall I think I got what I paid for.

We got a great price on room in Feb. We had a nice quiet stay. No problems at all. The staff were friendly and helpful if we needed something.

Let's be very clear, this is not a fancy hotel by any means. It is strictly a place to shower, keep your stuff and MAYBE get some sleep. The walls are paper thin and zero sound is kept out. The hallways are narrow and provide amplified ambient noise. We were very disapointed becuase the room was not what we had expected. The hotel was nice and gave us another room but it still was not what I had thought we where booking from hotels.com. For the rate that I paid the hotel was fine

No problems with service. Ocean view efficiency had a great view. The room was o.k. The balcony door was hard to close. Not great but definitely not terrible for a short stay.
