Springmaid Beach Resort - Myrtle Beach

The hotel is in a nice location although I did not know it was that far down Ocean Blvd. Apparently they are in the process of renovating but the description of the hotel is wrong. Guest registration was quick and the area was clean. Driving into the parking deck, there are no mirrors to help determine if a car is coming down while you are driving up. […] Accident waiting to happen, as I keep driving, I see an area where there are old sinks in a section of the parking deck. I go out on the balcony to look at the 6 pools and I see a guy working in one of the pools and they are empty. Here I am looking to get ready to go swimming and the pools are not ready. I didn't even try to find anyothers. So I was a bit disappointed. the toilet seat was old and it needed to be replaced also but the room was clean and smelled fresh. Not sure if I will stay here again. Mehr

When I pulled back my sheets there was a chip in the bed. The microwave was so old fashioned it took FOREVER to heat the food. The fridge barley kept things cool. We didn't spend much time in the room but we defiantly won't be back here.

Our first room was overlooking 2 pools that were not filled, just like the one in your commercial, and the position of the room was out of the way and the sliding door did not lock.. We requested a change of room and were given another room in another building. When we entered the new room it wreaked of smoke and the air conditioner/heater did not work. […] We were given a 3rd room and it was satisfactory. On the third day the toilet did not flush. I tried to call the front desk and there was no answer. I had to get dressed and go to the desk to ask for a plunger. They sent a maintenance man to plunge the toilet. On the next day the same thing happened just before we were about to leave for home. We would not stay at this hotel ever again. Mehr

Great breakfast comfortable bed

The overall hotel was nice. We had a beautiful view of the ocean. The only downfall was all the construction going on. We would probably stay there again as long as the constructuion is over.

WE HAVE STAY AT SUNMAID BEFORE. THE ROOMS ARE ALL NICE AND CLEAN.IT IS ALSO QUIET AND A VERY BEAUTIFUL VIEW, MY HUSBAND LIKED TO SIT ON THE PORCH AND WATCH THE OCEAN.WOULD STAY WITH THEM AGAIN .WE ENJOYED THE SHOPPING. Older hotel but very clean. Several buildings,but one I stayed in did not have an elevator. It was hard for my mother to climb 3 flights of stairs to get to the room and difficult for my 2 year old niece. But overall it was a nice stay. Nice pools and beach!

This hotel is beautiful, right on the beach and with so many pools. Rooms are very clean and the people from the front desk are very friendly. I will stay again any time soon.

In all I really liked our room and the property. the game room was closed and did not open til the day we were leaving and that was a bit of a pain with # children! and 2 teens! And several pools were also closed.. but all in all the staff was very nice and we had a nice room and a very good vacation. From 1-10 I would give it a solid 7.

This is a perfect place to get away and relax. The pier is amazing. I got to see some amazing sunrises. Nice quiet area. Great staff. I've stayed here 5 times already and I absolutely love it. Won't go anywhere else.

After reading other reviews I was not expecting such a great experience at Springmaid. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The view was spectacular. The variety of pools meant that kids gravitated to the smaller lazy river and indoor/outdoor pool, while guests without kids can enjoy the large pool in peace and quiet. While the other hotels […] are crammed together, Springmaid is set apart from them by the large beautifully landscaped property surrounding the buildings. I have raved about Springmaid to all my friends. Will definitely go back to Springmaid again in the near future. Mehr

The resort is in an awesome location away from the crowds that you normally find at Myrtle Beach. My only complaint was in regards to the cleanliness of our room. It didn't look like the floor had been vacuumed in awhile when we arrived and the fake wood floor was very sticky, as was the carpet in places? We were there for 3 nights and housekeeping […] only changed the towels (I think) and made the beds, didn't even leave extra toilet paper! Mehr

It's hard to fault the hotel because it's clear they are trying. They have several appealing amenities, but almost none were available. They're undergoing renovations so the floors were torn up. Our room was not ready when we checked in. Only one (indoor) pool was heated so it was overwhelmingly crowded. No towels at the pools. Arcade not open. Mini […] golf was good. Pier is good. Mehr

Keeping in mind that this review was done during renovations, as well as being obviously short-staffed those days, I have to say that despite the dissatisfaction, we found the staff to be personable. The attitude of hospitality was exceptional. The air conditioner was not working, but maintenence came immediately, and was able to change it within 15 […] minutes. The tub was leaking to downstairs room, and they came to our room to make repairs while we were gone. We came back as they were working, and they apologized and explained, then worked quickly. Housekeeping never came to make up our room. We asked them to at least bring more towels, but we did not get them until 12:30 a.m, when security, not staff, brought them. There were other experiences that could have been seen as a negative, but the attitudes of the staff made up for them. Once the renovations are finished, paired with the hospitality, this is going to be an awesome place to stay for your beach vacation! Mehr

I really enjoyed my stay at Springmaid. We had a great view of the beach and I enjoyed the peaceful stay. The rooms/building is older but the quality of the stay was good.

Our hotel stay was awesome, I would recommend the Springmaid Resort to anyone. Anything that you want to do is near the hotel . I will be returning in December for a graduation !!!

Springmaid has a perfect location. Love the beachfront, the Springmaid Pier, Barnacles, and Marlins. The pier is perfect, free entertainment day and evening with two pre-teens. The hotel is finishing a huge renovation, and we were lucky to stay in a completely remodeled room with comfy beds. Check-in was a breeze. The staff is very friendly and polite. […] Security is present and active on the grounds. I only had two disappointments- the lack of a hot tub and the repairs needed in the laundry facility. Mehr

Nice and economical. Not in the "party" zone. More family oriented. Excellent service and clean. Under renovation and not much of any inconvienence. I would recommend it for a relaxxing vacation.

This was our second time visiting MB for springbreak. My son thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Rooms felt like a studio. I loved the convenience of a full-size refrig. Resort is located all to itself, on the far end from the rest of the hotels. There are lots of activities & bar/grill located right on premises. I would definitley recommend this hotel to […] others. I plan to coordinate a trip including my immediate family to join us. I'm sure they will highly favor this hotel as well. Staff was very nice, accommadating. Mehr

We had a great time the staff was very helpful and freindly , the hotel was close to the boardwalk , and many dinning locations , my son loved all the pools , and is already asking when can we go back.

I took my husband to Myrtle Beach in late March for his birthday. We had a great time and loved the resort! Our room was very clean, and the view of the beach from our room was amazing! Our only complaint was that the building we were staying in did not have an elevator. It was difficult for us to carry our luggage up to the top (3rd floor) since I […] was 24 weeks pregnant, and he is recovering from surgery. We were quite pleased with the resort. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, the shower was hot and clean. We were a little disappointed because two of the indoor and outdoor pools were closed because of remodeling. Also, there were no hottubs. Another disappointment was that at check-in we were told that we could extend our stay if we wanted. […] When the time came, there were no rooms available! We were sad to have to cut our wonderful vacation short! Overall, we loved the rates and the room we got! Mehr

I had a geat stay at this hotel, The only thing was that the arcade wasn't open yet and my kids were disapointed, that is one of the reasons we picked this hotel in the first place. But i still had a relaxing time.

The room wasn't bad for the money but could use some refreshing. However, they are remodeling other parts of the motel. I complained about noise after quiet hour but the gal at the desk told me they hadn't had any other complaints and dismissed me as if I were lying. The internet was down for three of the six nights I stayed. But the rate was good so […] my expectations were not too high. Regardless of the price I think the staff should treat customers with respect. One of the night employees did not. Mehr

We have stayed at the Springmaid for the past six March holidays, and will come back again, hopefully next year...great value, comfort, location.

My family and I spent march break at this resort, and are planning on returning next march break! They are currently upgrading, can't wait to see the finished results. Amazing holiday!!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Springmaid Resort. We went to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Facilities were older, but very clean, and right on the beach. Service was wonderful. We will return.

I absolutely loved this hotel. Our view was amazing. We were in their smaller building which had 3 floors and no elevator(which was not bad at all). We were on the top floor on the end. I would say if we were not on the top floor the view would not have been as good. The only thing I was not happy about was on the deck some of the screws on the top […] railing were starting to come up and having a 4 year old with us I was worried of her scrapping her hand on one. I would stay here again. The pools were great too. The kid pool was perfect for the 4 year old with us and the heated pool was great since it was still a bit chilly out. Bummed they were redoing their mini golf area but, I understand as they were working on getting it ready for the season. The pier was huge. The staff at Springmaid was absolutely wonderfull and very helpful. I will definately stay here again next time. The beach was not as busy as the other beaches we saw which we enjoyed it not being crowded. Mehr

Great trip. Hotel is under renovation! Great service, very friendly staff. Pleasant to talk to and eager to please. Upon arrival we had a couple of things not satisfactory to my liking. We asked the following morning about changing rooms and it was not a problem. Can't beat the view and the pier. Found it a bit quieter in that area which was perfect […] for our family get away! Between the adults and children, we had a great time. Would go back again!! Would have liked to been told the arcade and mini golf wasn't running as the kids were looking forward to it, but we managed, lots of mini golf around the area for the kids. Mehr

We really didn't know where to stay and Myrtle Beach has it all!! We chose this hotel because it offered the option of fishing and my husband loves to fish! Although the hotel was under construction, the staff were very accomodating and polite. Another big plus, is that you can buy your area attraction tickets right at your hotel and at a discounted […] price. I felt this was a good blind choice as far as hotels. It was exactly as described. I loved the option of having a full refrigerator, as we always enjoyed breakfast and lunch in our hotel or on the beach at our grocery shopped price! **Big savings there! That allowed us to go out for dinner's each evening and enjoy everything myrtle beach had to offer. Hotels.com offered the best rate! Better than any other one and I checked for over a week! My husband & I love the location of this place. Not in the crowded part of MB. Very family friendly. They have updated the rooms some, so that is nice. They were also in the middle of remodeling part of the resort while we were there, but it did not bother us. Great view of the ocean from our room. We loved it & will continue to go back there. GREAT […] for people who like MB but don't like all the hussle & bussle of it. Mehr

My wife and I booked this hotel for a weekend get-a-way. I was not aware they had construction going on for the next couple of months. Loved the fact that the pier is connected to the hotel and the view from the top floor was fantastic. The only complaint I had was that the heat had not been used for a while so it had a funny smell when we turned it […] on and that the drain to the shower did not work well. I really hate giving a bad review but we were so unhappy with this hotel..... my sisters and I honestly think we stayed in the fishermans cabin... we were so scared that we pushed a chair up under our door...it just felt so unsafe... there were no kleenexes in our room..... and at this time of the price that we paid should have given us better serv […] ice... The accommodations were excellent. The only complaint I have would be the hot water. I was told to let the water run for 15 minutes and the it would heat up. The first time I tried this it worked, but the next morning I ran the water for 1 hour and it did not get hot.

this hotel is in a PERFECT location. down the road a bit from all the other hotels in a kind of secluded area. RIGHT next to the beach. i can't stress enough on how perfect the location is. the view from the room is also amazing! completely satisfied with this choice.

The hotel is completely out of date. The room was Horrible. The appliances were all old. The carpet Was stained and very dirty. The lights were dim & missing bulbs. The web site was misrepresented. I was given a unacceptable room & changed to another one, that was just a little better. Awful accommodations !
