i enjoyed my stay at hilton deansgate and would stay again. I would definitely get a double room on next visit. The twin room was a bit small. The breakfast was good and the recepion and foyer were beautiful.

Great hotel, the only fault I could find was a bit of chaos at breakfast time with the queuing system for food being more like a school canteen rather than an upmarket hotel. Cloud 23 bar was a nice experience too.

Maybe a little rough round the edges now in terms of decor but just an amazing hotel. Great views (especially from Cloud23) and the staff (they are not your usual students that couldn't care less) are very friendly and well trained. Superb breakfast and the hotel has a light and spacious feel. Probably the most I have paid for a hotel room in Manchester […] but worth every penny! Mehr

Good location good size bedroom with comfortable beds.Spa excellent as was the breakfast. Only niggle parking at the adjacent NCP £16.46 with the hotel's discount !

Always wanted to stay at this hotel because of it's iconic design and location. Sadly my expectations weren't met. Reception check-in was great; such nice and efficient staff. A friendly northern approach but very professional. Well done! Room nice design, good views. Bed a bit squeaky and not as comfy as Sheraton & Radisson beds. Carpets a bit tired. […] Nice bathroom. Pool is nice for city hotel but the changing rooms small when it gets busy and the showers were out of liquid soap. Had to get the leisure staff to sort. Room service didn't answer phone after two attempts so guest relations said they'd ask them to call... 35 mins later no call. Called again and spoke to duty manager to complain. He was very helpful, took my order and promised priority processing. When the room service arrived (food very nice quality) I was told it was complimentary for the delay. This was a nice touch and greatly appreciated since it was not asked for nor expected - thanks Hilton. Went to Cloud 23 bar as this is one of the hotel's signature features. To be honest it's overated. The decor is a bit tired. Cocktails were good but expensive but as expected. The staff were attentive and efficient. Breakfast was nice, lots of choice and attentive staff. Again decor in the restaurant looking tired with food stains on the cloth chairs and other signs of wear an tear seen on seats. Overall the hotel didn't meet my expectations based on it's reputation, it's dominant presence in the city centre and the brand. I was disappointed. I did like the hotel as the staff were so good at their jobs but little things like room service issues, the tired decor in some areas let it down. I would go back but would probably choose the Radisson if the price was similar and I couldn't recommend but would 't say avoid either. Sorry. Mehr

Booked a discounted rate and stopped in a King Executive Plus room. The location is stunning but carpets and decor in the hotel are tired. The jacuzzi bath in the room didn't work the TV reception was awful. The executive room rate gave access to the executive lounge which is a bit like a canteen - buffet breakfast was awful. A fire alarm sounded (which […] was a test) but no staff member told us what this was and whether we had to leave the building customer service just seemed to be a bit lacking. All in all a stunning view , great location but tired and perhaps not really worth the extra premium. Mehr

Loved my stay at this hotel and would recommend to anybody from leisure to business! During my stay unfortuantely the shower head had broke but within 15 minutes was sorted. Cannot fault the service 1 bit! Friendly staff at all times and can always guarentee a welcoming face from cleaners to customer assistants. Bed was a little uncomfortable but it […] was my fiancee that had trouble sleeping, I slept perfectly well! The hotel is in a perfect location as it overlooks the city - especially from Cloud 23! Also it is bang in the middle of a tram service which is just over the road, these trams interlink from Eccles to Picadilly and Victoria and many more. Breakfast in my view was also lovely, definately filled me up both days I stayed! Would most probably stay again! Mehr

The hotel lobby is quite grand and very welcoming. The staff were all friendly and professional. The room was lovely, spacious and had all the usual items expected in a Hilton. My only criticism is the lighting in the room was not ideal for applying make-up. The NCP car park across the road is ideal and the hotel gives a a 15% discount for it. great valet speedy parking and cloud 23 is lovely with a well organised limit to guests, Thats all i have to say which is good! 1st room we were given had several cracked tiles in the bathroom, the shaving mirror had clearly been ripped off at some point and there also must have been a flood from the bathroom into the walkway as about 12" of carpet […] was stained extremely badly. there were splash marks and scratches all over the cheap veneer wood and the room had an unpleasant smell. We changed rooms and the next smelled better but again the wood was scratched and splash marks every where. Also the TV in the first room was a lovely big black tv and in the second room it was clear that the tv had been ripped off at some point and a piece of wood screwed to the wall which was unpainted and held a much smaller grey tv. Breakfast was equally disappointing with us having to ask for salt/pepper and the milk hadnt been refilled after the previous people on our table. When we queued for breakfast the waiters areas which you queued past were filthy with black kick marks where the shut the doors!! breakfast was not hot either. This hotel has clearly been partied out/completely wrecked and is far below what i expect of the Hilton name having stayed at several around the world!! An absolute shame!! Mehr

Excellent price through Hotels.com even got upgraded when we arrived. Very Good Rooms the view over Manchester superb. Cloud s 23 Bar very good for cocktails.

Great hotel close to local amenities. Excellent service and would definitely stay here again. Well worth the price.

The Manchester Hilton is very impressive on arrival and all the public areas are as you would expect from a hotel of this calibre. However, we did have some reservations about the room. There was only one comfortable chair and that was stained, the shower screen hinges had mildew deposits around them, the lamp over the bed seemed more for cosmetic purposes […] than functional, as it blocked the use of the mirror and the door frame cracked. Some of these comments may seem minor taken on an individual basis, but all together affect the overall impression! Lastly, even though we are both smokers and this was a smoking room, there was a terrible smell of stale smoke on entry, may I suggest an air freshner! Mehr

Poor at best, overpriced for the lack of quality this hotel offers, there are better deals out there ... I gave the hotel my feedback and have had no reply, very poor show, will not be visiting again!

We paid for the executive room, no difference to a standard room on the lower floors - but the view is fantastic in the evening

I had high expectations of this hotel but, in the end, felt somewhat disappointed. Whilst the staff were helpful and friendly, the room and overall experience didn't live up to what I was hoping for. There are better hotels in Manchester.

I have stayed at the Deansgate 3 times for a total of about 12 days. The rooms are relatively decent, lots of comfortable pillows and great towels. For some reason, the faucets in the bathrooms are very hard to turn off and they tend to leak. The in-hotel restaurant is OK but very expensive. The morning breakfast buffet is ok as well, but a bit overpriced. […] Staff is very friendly and helpful. The Cloud 23 Lounge seems very popular with Manchester's beautiful people. I believe the hotel is the or near the tallest building in Manchester so the views from Cloud 23 are great. Hotel is right next to the Deansgate-Castlefield station but I wish it were a bit closer to Piccadilly Station. Mehr

Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, really nice room, comfortable bed, great view, but not sure i'd really class it value for money. It's great you get preferential access to the 23rd floor bar as a guest :)

I booked this hotel despite being disappointed with previous Hilton stays (Leeds & York). I am so pleased I gave the brand one last chance - this hotel is everything a Hilton should be, modern, clean, spacious and well designed rooms in a iconic building. Service was excellent, breakfast superb and the views stunning. Ask for a room on a high floor […] (I did and we were given the 14th floor which gave us excellent views of Manchester, even Coronation Street!). We were impressed with Cloud 23 bar on the 23rd floor, although we had to wait 10 minutes to get up there in the lift (when we did get up there the bar was quite empty so I think they like to build a queue in the foyer to hype it up a bit). Drinks are expensive but worth it for the even better views and luxury surroundings. Overall, a great hotel and we would definitely stay again! Mehr

Good points: Fantastic view, handy location, good breakfast buffet, comfortable room, nice bathroom. Bad points: Lots of dead olive trees featured in welcome lobby- you expect more from the Hilton. Initial confusion as to whether I needed to be charged again for the breakfast buffet when booking through a site such as hotels.com. Excessive charges […] for bottles of water in your room when other hotels give them away complementary. Air conditioning unit needed maintenance and made a high pitched noise and an odd smell. Mehr

I stayed at this hotel three nights and enjoyed my stay. Things were uncomplicated and easy, which gave me time and ressources to enjoy the city and the conference I attended. I loved the view from my room over the city.

Friendly staff, great location and great view from the level 23 bar.

Staff very helpful, organising taxis and booking us into the restaurant-which was good value for money. Room had superb view, but bathroom smelled of drains. We parked in the car park opposite and had our ticket validated at the hotel but the discount didn't come off and we paid £37.72 from Friday 6pm to Sunday 11am which we felt was excessive. My partner and I have stayed at the Hilton a few times now, as he enjoys the executive lounge, as do I. If we would have booked a normal room, I would have been disappointed with the entire stay. The room did not meet expectation, with blood on robe and pillow, bed was uncomfortable, the towel handle falling off etc plus we were across from Rumours […] night club, live band was blasting from 11 to 2am, I complained and not even an offer to exchange rooms. The executive room is a must, the Hilton is not at the same standard as what it use to be. Mehr

We were amused each morning at breakfast by the laziness of one of the waiters. He swanned around doing his best to ignore the tables that needed to be cleared off. Then, when he would lift one or two dirty dishes off the table he would retire to the kitchen for 5 or 10 minutes. On his return, he would ignore the dirty table again for as long as possible, […] walking around with an empty tray doing absolutely nothing. The hotel might be able to lower its prices if it got rid of such unproductive staff. Great breakfast though! Mehr

Very good place. If it wasn't for the special price - probably it would have been a bit pricey. Other tha that great....

Clean and spacious room with a very comfortable bed, staff were very helpful and polite, excellent breakfast, great location, had a really enjoyable stay.

The hotel was lovely inside; however the area was not very good and parking was at the NCP carpark which charged £18.50 per night. Until 05.00 hrs a coujple were arguing, shouting and swearing, but we were unable to identify which room,

We stayed for one night on 29th July and had a fabulous time. The hotel staff were lovely, in particular, Karis, who went out of her way to make our stay really special. The hotel is in a great location. Can definitely recommend a stay here, we will be back again!!

Having just stayed at the Hilton in Manchester I can say we very much enjoyed our stay. On arrival the recption staff were very helpful and informative. When we arrived at our room it was clear that a lot had gone in to the room design and the views were great. The only criticism would be the service in Cloud 23, we had to wait 30 minutes to be seen […] to get a drink. Other than that I would recommend this unique hotel in Manchester. Mehr

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I live in Manchester, but was staying as part of a celebration. The rooms are good and the hotel is in a good location for visiting interesting places in Manchester - we visited the John Ryland's Library and tool a walk through Castlefield and down the canals towards Salford Quays.
