Barefoot Resort & Yacht Club - North Myrtle Beach

Our trip started off miserable! Nothing your website was accurate. The bridge was out that takes you to the resort from Barefoot Landing. We did not want to drive a lot, but had to travel 15 miles one way to get to the resort that was across the street from shopping center. Directions were horrible. At no time was I told we had an offsite check in. […] We arrived at 6:30pm and did not get into our room until 8 and that was with help by the police. Hotels.com operator was absolutely no help either. Every phone # provided was either disconnected, a fax or an answering machine. We were the tenth car to stop and ask the police office for check in help. No maid service. When you are not renting a real hotel unit, you should tell us! I would very much like a refund and am hesitant to ever use your website again! Mehr

ROOM AND STAY WAS GREAT!!!!!

THE ROOM WAS FILLED WITH PET HAIR. I KEPT KILLING KNATS AND OTHER INSECTS. NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL, NOT HAPPY FROM WHEN I STAYED AT THIS LOCATION THE 1ST TIME.

Lovely, spacious 3-bedroom, 2-bath condo on golf course at resort. Fully equipped kitchen--Great! Only problems was that the garbage disposal didn't work, and more importantly, the Internet didn't work. We questioned if Wi-fi was available, and were told that it was. But we could not connect, and were unable to get help from the Office since it was […] New Year's Day. Had a very disappointed young man who had just gotten a new notebook..... Only other disappointment was the distance to the beach. Was told when booking reservation that it was a 10 minute walk...NO way.... It took more than 10 minutes to drive, as a bridge was out and there was an extensive detour to get to the beach--15 to 20 minute DRIVE, and we had wanted something in walking distance of the beach. The person booking the room was in TX, and was reading from the listing but they sure missed it. Again, room was tastefully decorated and immaculate Mehr

Had I realized ahead of time how far this was from the actual beach and that the bridge was closed for construction I would have canceled or never booked these reservations. The place was clean and spacious but it was just like staying at someone's apartment. I don't golf so that didn't appeal to me and there wasn't much locally. I also think that there […] would have at least been a bigger tv then the one in the living room. Not somewhere I would want to stay again while visiting MB. Also HATE that the office is NOT even close to the condo location, nor is everyone friendly there. And a 10am check out? Ugh! Mehr

Our stay was quite fun; the only con was the detour. I plan to visit next year.

Room was comfortable. Towels were small and thin. Otherwise a nice room. Only issue was they were painting the bridge into Barefoot Resorts which mad the trip in and out excessively long. Because this is not a hotel but a condo had to wait in the morning to check in.

Yacht villa had some maintenance issues...broken toaster, burned out light bulbs, carpets that needed cleaning, flimsy towels. Management team was quick to replace toaster and light bulbs. Biggest beef was that we were not notified when booking w/ hotels.com that the bridge to enter the villas was closed...had been for 3 weeks and was not scheduled […] to reopen until 3 more weeks! This meant we were rerouted entering and leaving the development, by @ 15 minutes. We should've been notified of this prior to booking. It made travel plans very inconvenient. Not pleased with this lack of disclosure! Mehr

My family and I had a nice stay @ barefoot. However the bridge was being repaired and the detour took us 20 to 30 min out the way. Need to tell guest about this before stay if possible.

It's the best i"ve ever seen and I've stayed in many. It's lije having your own luxurious apartment. SO MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS NOW!!!!!

I picked this hotel because of the price and also because I knew that it was close to where I was going to be doing things. If I had known that the bridge, to have easy access to the hotel, was being repaired and not usable I would have gone somewhere else. I had to drive 11 miles out of my way to get to where I was going to be. If the bridge was open […] I would have been less than a mile. I got to North Myrtle Beach late at night and did not know how to get to the hotel because the bridge was out. I had to keep stopping and asking at gas stations how to get to the hotel. I was by myself and was a little worried looking like I was lost so late at night. Then when I got to the hotel I had to go back the 11 miles to go and get my keys to the hotel. I did not know about that either. You need to inform guests about the bridge being out, how to get to the hotel and how to get their keys before they arrive in North Myrtle Beach. Mehr

I couldn't have been more satisfied with my accomodations. The condition of the condo was great. The beds were comfortable. Everything we needed was there. I think check in would be a lot less confusing if you get there before the office closes. If you are not able to, it would be wise to call ahead and ask for instructions on how to proceed should […] you get there after hours. The only negative thing I can find is the check in location. Luckily, I read reviews so I knew where to check in. That just needs to be information provided with the reservation. As far as the place, it was clean, quiet, comfortable. Will definitely stay again! Loved it!!!!

We arrived at night and it was difficult to find the condo. The map provided by the management company and the signs at Barefoot Resort to the location were not easy to follow. I would recommend that if this is your first time at the resort check in during the day, it's much easier to see the signs and get your bearings. The room was nice- we had plenty […] of room. I had a wonderful time, the place was awesome, and I cannot wait to come back with my husband and other family members.

The hotel and location were excellent. A little surprise was if you want cleaning services there is an extra $25 dollar a day charge. This was not clear during the booking process.

This hotel/villa was beautiful! I would surely stay there again and again. Now, little heads up. Take your own toilet tissue and paper towels. There is no daily room service so treat it like you were at home. There are towels and wash cloths there for your use but you will need to wash them yourself. As far as the location, you have to check in at BEACH […] VACATIONS on US-17 (next to CVS) You will get your information there and then go to your hotel/villa across the street. It is located behind House Of Blues. As soon as you cross the bridge, go to your left (for the villas). You will be able to see them from the bridge. They look like lavish tall hotels. There are 4 of them in a row (again, if staying at the villas). If you try to put the location in your GPS, use US-17 for your street name. Highway 17 will not come up. Mehr

Even though the check in is not on the property, a fact I would not have known unless I read the reviews before going, it was a smooth process and the condo more than met our expectations. Very quiet during our stay. Would definitely return here. Close to food and entertainment but away from the crowds.

Very nice, large 3 bedroom condo with good view of intercoastal waterway. Not your typical beach furniture in this upscale condo. A couple of minutes off the main road, but quiet and clean.

Great location and clean rooms. Great deal for the price. Only negatives were: musty towels, awful mattresses and pillows, not enough linens or pillows available. Bring your own.

If you arrive after a long day of work, just to warn you it a full service solo check-in. And to add to this, it was dark outdoors and took me and my family almost a half an hour to find our room, due to the poor description of the tower and room # on our check in information. Please do no request a balcony room because they are offering a "so-called […] special" over the internet. We arrived expecting to see a refrigerator or a least a mirowave. Having went food shopping beforehand, we were basically stuck eating cold food. And what was worst was that when I went to the customer service desk the following day, the woman was short with me and stated that we cannot receive a microwave or refrigerator in our bedroom but did not explain why. The advertisement only stated no stove but even the Motel 8 will offer its occupants a microwave oven. Please read the fineprint or call before you book this resort. Mehr

Nice condo, large rooms, furnishings were very limited and not comfortable. Just the Bare minimums. Not much in the kitchen, just enough to warm some food. We are used to condo facilities that are much nicer. Patio furnature was broken and not useable. Old towels and drooping shower curtains ---

great stay, bring your own pillows. luckily saw other reviews about where to check in. for some reason the address does not show on 3 different GPS systems. but unit was fabulous. just use dryer in unit to dry towels. no daily maid service but it's a CONDO!

My husband and I was booked in a Villa (condos) for our weekend stay. I was kinda expecting the towers on the intercostal waterway from what I was seeing on the hotels.com website. When we arrived it was a nice villa complex. We had a little trouble finding it at first. The map they gave us at the rental office didn't quite have road names to easliy […] locate the villa. Once we did find it and went inside I was disappointed in the condo. When we arrived we noticed stains on the carpets, 5 or 6 slates were missing on the vertical blinds, bumps and nicks all along the walls, lamp on end table in living room didn't work because bulb was blown (found one in other bedroom lamp and switched it out). The remote to the TV was missing the back. The bed covers looked old and one of the bed covers in the other bedroom that we did not use was ripped. We gave the rental company the list of what we saw. You could tell this condo has been used and abused. We did like the lay out of the condo. It was very spacious and the rooms were ample big. The unit had its on washer and dryer in a closet. The kitchen had nice counter tops and was equipped enough to cook a full meal if you wanted to. The unit was over all clean. Like I said before, just used and abused. It was close to shopping and attractions and not that far of a drive to the beach. It was ok for our weekend trip. Mehr

This is actually located in a condo development and is not a hotel. The pictures on the website are of the actual Yacht Club Hotel. The villas are located along the golf course and appear to be privately owned and rented out as desired. That said, our villa was very nice, clean, roomy, and pleasant. This time of year (October) the entire building appeared […] to have one other person staying, and she seemed to be the owner of the unit. Was very quiet and peaceful. Would be great for a family staying for several days. There is a pool for each "neighborhood" and amenities at the hotel are available. Mehr

The staff were extremely friendly and the location was wonderful. Lots of pools and options for kids, but also hot tub and nice oceanfront bar for adults. The hotel isn't fancy, but is very comfortable and clean. Great value.

I really enjoyed my stay at the beach as did everyone else with me. The only problem we had was location of the place. Normally it would be a hour & half drive ! It turned into 5 & 1/2 hours because we would not find the place. We get to where we think keys are locked up and the office is moved. We were looking for Barefoot Resort & Yacht club & should […] of been looking for Beach Vacation Rentals Office. Hotels.com did give us correct address but it does not show up on phone gps, garmin gps, or built in car gps. Office was closed and we were driving at 9:30 at night wondering where to go. Mehr

The king size bed was two twin matresses pushed together. Pillows were flat so sleeping wasnt comfortable. This is a condo and no hair dryers in the room and the pots and pans in the kitchen left alot to be desired. It was on a golf course so if your looking for quiet this is good. Very nicely decorated. Great location overlooking the ICW and Barefoott Landing.

We enjoyed having a 2 queen size beds, sitting area with walk-end closet and large bathroom, double sinks w/shower and garden tub. Very roomy! Someone had written this location didn't have an elevator. BUT IT DOES! We were located in North Myrtle Beach near Alabama Theater. Perfect for going to eat and shopping.

I have for years stayed at Barefoot Golf Resort but never at the Yatch Club Towers. What a great place to stay. We were in the Yatch Club North Tower. The view was awesome. We spent a lot of time on the balcony over looking the marina and Barefoot Landing. At night when the lights came on it was so beautiful. Our condo was large and very well decorated, […] more like we were staying in a friend or family member's upscale home than a hotel. We can;t wait to go back. Girls Weekend ~ Our 2 BR Condo in the Willow Bend Community was clean and just like new. The Barefoot Resort does mention golf carts for units on its website, but it must be for the condo's with garages...we didn't see any in our Community. The neighbors were friendly and the pool was nice. We did not have info on the shuttle service which would have […] been helpful, we drove ourselves to the beach with no problems. The Rooms were great and overall we enjoyed our stay. However, we were surprised at the fact that there was no service at all. Check in is self-service and there is no room service or daily cleaning at all. I guess these are condos that get rented out. The condo was a good bargain for the money overall. It would have been nice to know that there were no elevators and we had to haul our belongings up three floors -not easy for 2 50+ females with bad backs :-) The carpet had some pretty bad spots on it and the tub drains were slow, but at the time of year I visited, I'm sure the rooms are turned over […] as quickly as possible. The condo was spacious with a pretty view. The staff at the check in site was very courteous and address our concerns. Would stay there again, but would ask for ground floor or........pack lighter. -No room service at all -If you lock yourself out its $65 charge to get somebody to unlock and you have to dial some random number -We stayed for almost a week and NOT ONCE they changed our beds or gave us fresh towels!! -No microwave, no fridge, not even cups for coffee, NOTHING -You have to drive miles around just to get on parking lot, horrible planning […] of the parking lot -If you don't take out trash you will be CHARGED!! Even though it is somewhat nice hotel(not) it is not worth the price AT ALL, too far away from ocean, hard to get in, no service at all. Mehr
