Gigi's Resort by the Beach - Fort Lauderdale

Das Hotel war enttäuschend. Sehr alt und schmuddelig. Dreckige Bettwäsche, dreckige Handtücher. Das Zimmer sah ganz anders aus als auf den Fotos (nichts mit schönem Himmelbett). Außerdem sehr hellhörig, bin Nachts mehrfach aufgewacht durch Krach im anderen Zimmer. Habe schon viele günstige Hotels in Florida ausprobiert, aber dieses war definitiv das […] schlechteste. Auch würde ich den Strand von Miami Beach beim nächsten Mal wieder dem von Ft. Lauderdale vorziehen. Mehr

Der Hotelmanager war hilfsbereit, hat aber von Hotelerie keine Ahnung. Alles war schmutzig und das Frühstück katastrophal. Z.B. das gleiche Messer für alle Gäste, Flüssigbutter, keine Cerealien, Kaffeemaschine und Toaster schmutzig etc. Einziger Vorteil: Wir durften für 8 Tage einen Koffer einstellen - allerdings für 2 Dollar/Tag. Das ganze Haus ist […] in einem misslichen Zustand mit verrosteten Fensterrahmen, gesprungenen -scheiben, keiner anständige Schliessung möglich. Absolut nicht empfehlenswert. Mehr

The Good: Manager is very nice and Gigi's is very close to the beach. The Bad The entire place needs to be cleaned and updated- The ugly- the hot water took over 20 minutes just to begin to warm up, the toilet wasn't cleaned, one of the windows was broken.

This was a REALLY bad hotel. Very run down. No hot water. The pictures were very deceptive.

I would not even let my pet stay there!! :(

We needed a place for 1night... We should have picked another hotel.. Like another review said, the pictures has nothing to do with the real place... Everything was falling apart, the toilet moved on the floor, water did not heat fast and lasted only a little, towels were old, there was hair from the previous guests on the bathroom floor, wood flooring […] was creaking at every step, dirty bed sheets, not garanteed a parking space (otherwise we would have to go somewhere and pay), we didn't even wanted to try their continental breakfast... We could go on, but we just wanted to picture the idea... Don't go there! We are not joking!!! Mehr

We arrived late to check in, about 2:00am. There was no attendant available, although a note was left for us that our room door was unlocked and to help ourselves. In my opinion, this creates an unsafe atmosphere as anyone could have entered the room, without staff present. In addition, a few of the windows in the room were literally jagged broken, […] and it was a very cold night for Florida. We could not stay as the room would have dropped to 40 degrees that night. A completely horrible situation to get into. Simply stated, you would likely be wise to avoid this place unless your a college kid on spring break and don't care about the conditions and/or safety. Gigi's is very basic -- nothing fancy -- but perfectly serviceable, convenient, and its proprietor goes out of his way to make his guests comfortable.

Stayed one night. Location was great. Hotel was fairly run down but we spent the time down on the beatch front. Area is excellent for bar/restaurants and music. Ok for one night.

A very simple but nice hotel very close to the beach. Good value for money and very friendly reception

The hotel was dirty.. The room was dirty.. We were extremely dissatisfied

Because of a late flight, I knew my arrival would be pushed back to 10 PM - called ahead & was told no problem, my key would be on my bed in the MORROCO room . . . with some trepidation (no night staff), I found an interesting little hotel a few blocks from the beach & discovered the Morroco room had all of the amenities of a mid-scale chain but the […] ambiance of a bed & breakfast. I left my phone charger at home & when I went out early the next morning, the manager graciously offered his to charge my phone. He had also just finished making a GREAT continental breakfast. Extremely courteous, polite and genuine staff. Excellent value for the money - recommend! Mehr

First the hotel manager didn't show up for 2 hours and we had to wait outside on the steps. The sheets had stains and holes all over them. The complimentary breakfast was a disaster and on a whole the hotel was a shambles.

The hotel is somewhat run-down and needs updated and paint. The Manager was very pleasant... but... the towel rack fell off, and it is somewhat dilapidated. Breakfast was to be eaten on a dirty table with dirty ashtrays The location is close to the beach and good restaurants, however...if you can overelook these issues.

Found dead cockroach on floor. Room in generally poor condition

This is a lovely little hotel at a very modest price. We were less than a block from a beautiful beach. Can't go wrong with this pick.

if you want a comfy bed...clean room...money in your pocket...to be left alone...near the beach and sights...stay here...enuff said...i would return here if i ever go back to fort lauderdale....it was great! enjoy

The hotel was very clean, the neighborhood was very nice and the beach was across the street but hot water took forever to come out of the faucet, bring your own soap, shampoo, toothpaste, the breadfast was very poor.

Paint was peeling from the ceiling. Counldn't open the door all the way because the bed blocked. Parking very, very, very limited.

Next door to the Ritz Carlton and Westin. Directly on the main strip with a lot of restaurants, bars and shops. Amazing price for this location. Rooms were not fancy, but clean and comfortable. Free Parking, internet access and basic breakfast.

I rented at GiGi's last minute and went into it expecting a room to sleep and no more. We were pleasantly surprised to find the hotel quite chic. Don't get me wrong it's not at all going to be like a big chain hotel with every facade perfect. It has it's faults and it's old things, but at the price we paid on that weekend it was great! perhaps not the ritz carlton or anything, but great location, clean room with a big comfy bed.. lots to do within walking distance. not bad for a cheap price

Gigi's is all about location at a great rate. The rooms are not fancy and the place is older but for the price it was fine. It is walking distance to the beach and dining.

Dont take children to this motel/hotel. It is just a bed, bathroom and no more. Think about the rate, you get what you pay for. Great location just a walk to the beach

this hotel is very charming, and it's a block off the beach. you can see the water from the outside of the building. the people who work there are very sweet. the rooms are spacious, but definitely old-fashioned. decor and themed rooms were cool. the only issue i had was that our room had was that our fan didn't work, but they gave us a new stand up […] fan quickly. Very quaint, quiet, and great location. It is a bed and breakfast with fantastic location and in a safe neighborhood. Owner extremely friendly and works very hard to ensure your stay is comfortable.

The room was not clean at all. The conditions inside are very poorly. Curtains falling down. And the promise continental breakfast it is a joke. Nothing was fresh, except for the bagels. Open cream cheese, almost empty half gallon of O.J. No plates, etc. A total fail and a false promise. I will never be back or recomend the place to anybody nor even […] to my worse enemy. Mehr

It’s not the Ritz Carlton but for the price and location it was great.

Great location 1 block off the main drag so quieter if this is important to you I like small hotels Remember the building is old so not everything is perfect but the rooms are clean and the management is great I will stay here again they have chairs etc for the beach

We had a very nice room, the Nairobi, which is shown in the web picture of the hotel. The bed was good, room was quiet even with the hotel full. The manager was friendly and helpful and the location is tremendous: two minutes from beach and lots of shops and restaurants within a block. The entry, garden and stairs are out of date. It is hard to find […] for the cab driver and you think you are mistaken when you first find it. I kept telling my girlfriend, "Don't worry, I'll never make you stay in a place like this again" as we horsed our bags up the stairs, and I wouldn't recommend for a multi night stay. But if you are only here one night, or are on a tight budget, I say GIGI's is a good value. Mehr

Hotel is not the Taj Mahal, but its clean , comfortable Bed, 100% great location to the Beach. Hot water take 5 minutes to warm up, but is hot after that and a/c is a wall unit and isnt ice cold. I would stay here again, Great for the price.

WHAT A DUMP!!!! Only the location is convenient. This is a crack motel with some severe issues with mould, paint peeling and general scum everywhere - people you've been warned - this place is a health hazard- i couldn't imagine staying there with kids. I've travelled all over the world and i can honestly say that this place was a hole!!!!!

Best bang for your buck...Hidden oasis! If your looking for a fancy shmancy resort this is not your place. If you want to feel at home book now! I'll be back soon :)

My guess is that is how they handle all their Hotels.com prepaid customers. Great sundries are already in the room, including toothpaste. The location could not be beat. just a few steps from the beach and great dining and shops. You must try the Pork Loin Scallopini at the Casa Blanca Grill located on the corner at the beach.

shabby, broken windows, amateurish, room cleaning non existant, towel quality raggy, close to beach but for the money paid, was not worth it. Shower head was broken, and the shower leaked. We loved this little place, we felt so welcome and the staff was really helpfull. Even if we had the cheapest room I think we hade a great room. The water pressure was not so good when the were doing there laundry. It has great location, one block from the beach and it´s quiet, first time I didn´t need to sleep with earplugs on our trip. We found a questionable brown stain on the unpressed sheets. The mattress was soft and uncomfortable and the bed frame had years of.collected dirt visible. The paint was peeling off the ceiling and the water pressure in the shower was the worst I've seen anywhere. No cups or glasses to drink from. Don't expect the Ritz Carlton. This is a basic barebones facility. The rooms are old, but clean and comfortable. You can't beat the location, one block from the beach and the surrounding area is great with lots of restaurants. It was an ideal place to stay before a cruise. The only complaint was that the coffee and continental breakfast weren't set […] up until 9 a.m., so we were forced to go searching for caffeine at our usual time of 7 a.m. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The Place reminded me on a showgirl way pass her prime and ill-maintained. I'm sure Gigi was a great little romantic getaway back in her day. If well managed and restored it could be a again. My Girlfriend and I were taken in by the pictures in the website but totally disappointed upon arrival. The peeling paint and dirty mirrors and dimmly lit hall […] way left much to be desired. The rope lights on the trees and courtyard lighting was 95% burnout or disconnected. The wesite claimed cable TV was included but we only could get 5 local channels, only 1 major network. There was no phone in our room. The Ashtray in the courtyard were dirty. We felt sand in the sheets the first night. There was no Ice machine availible in the entire place, we were told that the nearest place to get ice was a conveniece store 5 minutes walk away , it was more like 10 mins jogging. The second night we were given stained wash cloth and and a a brown bath towel. My girl said I'll pass, on using them. and we ran out of toilet paper and had to resort to borrowing some from the neighboring room. the bath room had no ventalation and the cracked window was rusted shut and could not be opened. The so called "Continental breakfast" short hours 9a-11a. the website claimed a Minibar the mini fridge with a microwave on top was completely empty and only one applaicne could be plugged in at a time to the aged two plug outlet. We were also misled to beleive that this was a smoking room and that the place had a pool, perhaps we were mistaken or misread it. The water pressure was excellent and the location was excellent. Over all it is a 4 star location and 2 star Hotel. As my girlfriend said "We won't be saying here again." Mehr

Old, run down, dirty, cramped, broken, stinky, and the breakfast...a thawed bagel.

Gigi's is next to the beach, all the restaurants and shops. No pool, but free wifi and basic breakfast. The room and location were great!

The location was close to the beach, room was cozy but should have been sprayed for insects because there was one in the bathroom.

Next to the sand, restaurants, bars & shops! The free parking and internet saved us at least $25. Great price!
