I stayed in a double bed room. The room was dated but large enough to fit 4 people very comfortably. It was larger than the average hotel room. The atmosphere, between 6pm and 12pm on weekends, reminds me of a billiards bar. Drinks were flowing, music was pumping and people dancing. After 12 it gets really quiet and peaceful. I cannot say enough about […] the location. It is right on the beach. You can sip a cocktail and watch the sunset. It's not 5 star, but then again I did not pay a 5 star price. I can recommend Villa Cofresi if you are on a budget and not in need of luxurious room accommodations (sleek furnishings, updates tile, late model bath fixtures, etc.). Perfect for a 3-4 day stay. The hotel staff was very accommodating. Room was huge with 2 king beds. Outdoor pool bar was very busy and music went on into the night. We had to be moved because of the noise from the bar area. The pool is too small for the number of people attending and they permit others to use their beach. The food was expensive and passable.

We loved this hotel! The beach location is great and the hotel has a family owned vibe. It's nothing fancy but its good. The rooms were very comfortable with a private balcony facing the ocean. We didn't try the restaurant, but the bar snacks and coconut drinks were awesome. Overall, the hotel would have been decent but I really hated the extraordinarily loud music coming from the bar area jukebox all day long. The music was absolutely blaring (IMHO made worse by the fact that it was cheesy pop music!) literally from mid-morning until about midnight every day - and on Thurs. and Fri. nights they have karaoke which is even […] louder! We were on the 3rd floor and it sounded like full blast all the way in our rooms. It was such a shame because otherwise exactly what we were looking for - reasonable prices, free but mediocre breakfast, right on the beach, great outdoor shower, decent small pool and baby pool. The room was huge and they provided an infant crib for free. The room was slightly dirty (my feet turned black from walking on the floor AFTER my shower!) but I honestly wouldn't have minded that if it weren't for the music. It was just such a shame to be in an otherwise beautiful tranquil magical beach setting with beautiful weather. We have a baby and had read reviews saying this was family friendly, but I don't think it was, although we did see a few kids. I think this would be a great place for all adult ages (and I appreciated the diversity of ages, ranging up to elderly) if you want to drink a lot and party a lot. Mehr

Overall we had an amazing time. The place is very secluded but people seem to know about it, so there is a cool atmosphere throughout the day and night. They have a pretty cool jukebox with a good selection of music. The view of the ocean and sunset is unbelievable. I spent 2 nights at the Villa Cofresi with my family. The whole area of Rincon is wonderful, with a very laid back attitude. The hotel is located directly on the beach. The strip of sand isn't very wide, but you can walk along the beach about 7 minutes in each direction from the hotel. The hotel has beautiful public spaces that are kept clean. The continental […] breakfast is good, and the bar is definitely lively. Visitors from other hotels and houses/condos frequent the hotel bar in the evening for gorgeous sunset views. The room itself was very large, but not impressive. The room was clean, but the decor is very outdated. The beds were old, but we still got a good night's sleep. We didn't mind the room too much since we spent very little time in it. The comfort and quality of the public spaces seemed much more important since we spent more time out there. The hotel location within Rincon is good as well. Big beaches were all around, and a 10 minute drive away for the farthest beaches. All said and done, we'd definitely stay here again. Mehr

We enjoiyed our visit to Rincon and the Villa Confrisi. The hotel is on the beach and is a hub for the evening sunset watch and evening drinks at the bar. The pool wasent used much but looked very nice and was used some on the weekend. Had a good stay at this hotel on a Fri, Sat, Sun. Beach, ocean, bar and sunset were great. I booked one of the more expensive rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was very clean. The bar was a fun place, many locals come there on the weekend and on Fridays there is much Spanish language kareoke, but anybody can get up and sing. The […] bartenders are all cool and the bar food during the day is fine. There are a few restaruants and bars, a liquor store and a supermarket within walking distance. The one straight out the drive and across the street, next to the liquour store had great seafood. The only minor negative I could relate would be the free breakfast restaurant. The cups are tiny paper cups and the utensils are small cheap plastic. It takes about three of the little cups to drink a full size cup of coffee. Just slightly annoying. Awesome location, beautiful views and insanely strong Coconut drinks! The room was vary spacious with comfortable beds and a jet tub. The breakfast had a good selection with plenty of fresh fruit and excellent coffee with steamed milk. It is a local hangout so Sat. Night was loud late, but being part of the local scene was fun!

If it's important to you to be right at the beach you may overlook some of the negatives which are: Old broken down furniture, TV located on top a piece of said furniture which caused eventual neck pain, very hard pillows (more neck pain), no elevator, less than ordinary breakfast. We stayed at Villa Cofresi for only 1 night, sadly for us! Reading the reviews, we thought this was a small family-run B and B-type place, but it is a proper beachside hotel property, with a pool, bar and restaurant, not to mention being right on the beach! We used the beach and the pool towels provided the afternoon we were there, then rinsed off and […] hung out at the beachfront bar the rest of the evening to watch the sunset. Great atmosphere, very laid back & relaxing. Try the 'Pirate in a coconut' drink, and be warned - it is strong! Continental breakfast is included, and has bread, bagels, cereal, pastries and fresh fruit, quite filling. The only downside to the place is that there is no elevator, but the hotel can provide you with a strong-shouldered guy to help with your bags. Overall, a great place to stay in, our favourite on our PR trip, and we look forward to going back and staying longer! Mehr

Loud, loud, loud. The hotel plays second fiddle to the bar at this place. The bar is outside by the pool, which many of the rooms (like ours) open up to. So when the bar decides it wants to BLAST hip-hop music til midnight, or hold a live concert til 11pm, you're left attempting to sleep through it, whether you like it or not. The rooms have large windows […] and occurrence occurrence occurrence doors that do little to damper the noise. Villa Cofresi is a beach hotel in the beautiful town of Rincon, Puerto Rico. How to put this delicately... it was slapped up in the 60s and has been crumbling ever since. Our room was reminiscent of a flop house. A bed with rough sheets and mildewy pillows. Towels with the grit (and thickness) of rough sandpaper. Amenities? The breakfast is pretty […] blech. White bread bagels and instant wafels tossed on a table next to a toaster. The strip of sand next to the hotel is probably so teensy because they built way to close to the ocean and guess what? Beaches without protection erode. There are tons of beautiful beaches in this part of the island but the Villa Confresi isn't on one. There's a bar that can get crowded. To be honest, it wasn't our crowd. It seemed like a mix of middle aged tourists and middle aged single locals. A nice enough place to watch the sun set over the water. The only downside is the bartenders are really slow, crowded or not. They also seem shocked when you want to charge a beer to your room, as though it's a huge hassle. One tip: If you want to sleep past 7am, don't get a room near the pool. That's what we started with. A few mornings of screaming kids and we changed it. To the hotel's credit, the staff is friendly and efficient. Our room change was zero hassle and they sent somebody to help with our bags. Questions about the area were gladly answered. Mehr

I stayed here with 2 friends. We had a wonderful time. The ocean and pool are just steps away. The bar and patio is a fun place to relax during the day or night. On the weekends there is live island music at night which made for a truly enjoyable evening. We would definitely stay here again.

Villa Cofresi was just as described...a well-kept hotel right on the beach in Rincon with comfortable rooms, excellent and accomodating staff and lively outdoor bar. We got there too early to check-in and the desk concierge went out of their way to make us comfortable until our rooms were ready. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the waitstaff […] outstanding, especially Ada and Luis. We were limited to staying at the hotel in that we did not rent a car. I would recommend doing so for anyone looking to stay here as you can explore the surrounding area. The mini-shopping mall across the road did have a gem of an Argentinian restaurant called Vacas Gordas which I highly recommend. I came to Villa Cofresi to relax, enjoy the beach and lovely sunsets and was not disappointed! The bar is lively with friendly bartenders like Yandres and Kareoke is not to be missed! The drinks were cold and refeshing and inexpensive by my NYC standards. I would definitely return in the future and see more of what Rincon has to offer using this hotel as a starting point. Mehr

Our room was large, clean, comfortable, with 'fridge and coffee-maker, shower,AC, screened windows (not found at all places in rural PR). It opened to a huge open veranda above 1st FL restaurant.Rooms open to the courtyard where the pool and beach-side bar are located or front parking lot area. The dinner at the restaurant was good (served outdoors near the bar because there was a private wedding that night).Continental breakfast was ok (juice,coffee,tea,milk/bread,toast,bagels,toaster FR toast,muffin/fresh fruit/a sliced meat and cheese (Puerto Ricans often eat a sandwich for BF)/no yogurt or hard boiled eggs, though:-(. Eggs-to-order or omelets could be ordered for add'n. $. We stayed during the off season, but imagine things would be much busier during the winter months. This villa seems to have local night life at the hotel. They have a band, and bar area to accommodate a large crowd. About the amenities: The pool is small. The facility is on the beach with a spectacular view. The room we were assigned had a tiny bathroom that I barely fit in and I am petite. It was located by the ice machine. You could hear the noise […] of people getting ice all night as well as the entertainment at the bar area. If this is ok with you, then never mind. The employees are very polite. The breakfast area is clean, served good food and again, the employees were very accommodating. It is located in town and you can travel to see other areas of Rincon if you are willing to drive. Villa Cofresi is a great place for the family. There were many activities for teenagers from swimming in the surf, or pool, to playing pool & ping pong. Great surfing beaches and instruction is just minutes away. We also had one of the best meals in Puerto Rico at the restaurant in Villa Cofresi. It was a wonderful place.
