Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral. Shopping und Ausgehen ist in Gehdistanz. Einzig die Parkingsituation kann schwierig sein. Das Hotel verfügt zwar über eigene abgesperrte Parkplätze, die sind aber rasch besetzt. Immer zuerst an der Reception vorbei gehen! Ansonsten tiptop.

Das Hotel liegt nur 300 m vom Bahnhof oder Bus-Terminal, zu Fuss sehr gut erreichbar. Schwimmbad und Fitness sind ausgezeichnet, dass Frühstück war ein grosses Buffet, Service sehr zuvorkommend. Ich werde wieder einmal in dieses Hotel gehen.

Very comfortable, nice looking and clean hotel, very convenient location at a walking distance from the train station, and close to everything. The staff is helpful, welcoming and smiling.

We arrived late to meet a pleasant receptionist who quickly despatched us to our room. The room was extremely comfortable. Top breakfast and great location, handy for London and many surrounding attractions. Great transport links.

I have stayed in novotel many many times now and every time is wonderful. This time the shower was leaking, but I haven't experienced that during any of my previous stays (one only a couple of weeks before this one). Lovely hotel!

The reception area of the hotel is very welcoming. The staff are friendly and polite. The room was spacious and comfortable. The price included breakfast, there was a variety of items to choose from and all very fresh. They catered really well for vegetarians. The hotel is situated a very short walk from Reading station and restaurants, pubs etc are […] within a very short walk of the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Reading and needing overnight accommodation. Mehr

I could not find fault with this hotel - the staff were polite and very helpful, the room was very comfortable and clean and the food was excellent

I have stayed in Novotel many times before and each time I am equally pleased with the service and comfort. The location is perfect, the rooms are large, and you`re spoilt with both bath and shower cubicle. I didn`t use the hotel bar or restaurant during my stay, but they were quick (practically ran) to get me a fork when I requested one for my room. I really enjoyed this hotel, from the moment I checked in, I was treated like a valued guest - a nice change these days! :) The pool was exactly as described and wonderful to swim in, the sauna was fantastic and the breakfast staff were courteous and remembered my name my 2nd morning there. The couple of issues I had were very minor. There was a very […] loud fan, seeming to come from the bathroom that was couldn't seem to be drowned out even with music - esp in the middle of the night. It was a steady - sounds like the heater - type of sound and there was no way of turning it off! I found this disturbed my sleep but if you're a heavy sleeper you probably won't notice. I reported it and was told that all rooms were like this and it was normal! The bath was a disturbingly pretty blue colour when you filled it up (ie - why was it actually blue in colour when water is clear?!) but the shower was amazing and the bath was lovely, once you got over the blue colour! I agree with other reviews, you can see the TV from the bath. My only other complaint would be that the bed was very firm, but if you like a firm bed that would be a bonus. Views from the 13th floor were fantastic. Aside from the noise, there were no real issues, food was delicious, staff very courteous and efficient. Overall I'd recommend this place to anyone if they aren't a light sleeper, and if they are, bring earplugs, the pool is worth it! :) Location wise, it's just around the corner from the Reading train station. You've Sainsburys 5mins away up one end of the road, Marks & Spencer about 2 mins in the other direction and a bunch of ridiculously cheap (and tasty) restaurants within 5mins walk in either direction on the same street as the hotel. Almost everything about this hotel was great. Excellent service, facilities, comfort and price. A word to the wise though. Do NOT use their car park situated beneath the hotel. It is beyond tiny and most of the spaces have pillar obstructions next to them. It took 4 people 15 minutes to guide our car out of a space and even then the car suffered minor […] scratches. They charge you £14 a night fo the privalage of leaving your car here. AVOID! There is an NCP to the back of the hotel which you pass on the way to finding dinky car park. Don't pass it. this hotel is located in the centre of reading and is a good base to get around. i stayed here for one night due to a friends birthday and it fitted the purpose. with all the amenities needed

Although the hotel doesn't boast about its self, the quality boasts for it's self, it's that amazing! The bar gentleman who served the food (as it was out of restaurant time) was absolutely amazing, and the receptionist ladies were amazing, far beyond my expectation. The hotel had a fantastic atmosphere, really welcoming staff, who were very helpful. The hotel is very modern and clean and offers suberb facilities. Made great use of the fab leisure facilities as well, which again were up to a very high standard, would recommend this hotel to all my friends. Will definatley stay again ..

Easy and enjoyable stay, could do with a bigger car park though

My "executive" run had the bathroom 12 inches away from my bed! The only room that "didn't" have that set up was a room allocated for handicapped but was a lower price room. But since I pre-paid the hotel wouldn't do anything!

This was a last minute booking but we were delighted with the excellent service, food was exceptional and leisure facilities very clean and pleasant. Well done Novotel !

We stayed for a single night and were impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of staff. The hotel was clean. modern and i a very good location for Reading centre

I travelled to Reading by train for a work function at Reading Town Hall. Being two minutes from the town hall and three minutes from the station meant this hotel was the height of convenience, being located right in the centre of town. This was especially useful when I realised I had forgotten to bring cufflinks! I stayed on a Tuesday night up on […] the 7th floor, so my concerns about it being noisy in the centre of town were completely unfounded. I didn't use the leisure facilities but it was good to have them available. I did make use of the bar where he barman was very friendly and provided very good wine recommendations. The main thing I would say is the staff that I interacted with were very friendly, and made me feel totally at ease. I normally shy away from over-friendly/over-helpful staff but the staff here got the balance perfectly right. The room itself was very good with the usual facilities - the only thing that was potentially missing was the lack of free wifi (although this is supplied in executive rooms). It was clean and well appointed and had a great nights sleep. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel for the convenience of its location and friendliness of staff. Mehr

Stayed on business due to convenient location (two minute walk from station) but was disappointed in the quality and comfort of the hotel vs the competition (Madjeski, Hilton - both better). The air con didn't work - just belched out heat into the already hot stuffy room. I mentioned this to reception in the morning after a terrible night's sleep and […] they simply commented that I should have phoned the desk to get a fan. Apparently it's a known problem and this is their solution...in which case why aren't the fans just left in the rooms?? The room itself was cramped and tiny - you couldn't open the bathroom door and walk around it because it was right up against the bed. There were no plugs in a convenient location for the desk. The shower and bath facilities were good and it was spotlessly clean, but that is not enough to persuade me to stay again unless I can't get in anywhere else! I'd say it was on a par with a good Premier Inn and it's way more expensive. Mehr

We really enjoyed the stay at Novotel Reading which is located centrally and well maintained with courteous and smiling staff

this hotel was brilliant all round, very clean, nice staff, very nice and lots to choose from breakfast and in a very good location meaning no taxi at the end of the night.also did'nt have to check out until 5pm on the sunday at no extra cost.

The hotel is located in the centre of Reading, ideally positioned for the railway station. Parking, for which you have to pay, is close by. The hotel has some parking of its own, which we never managed to find, or if you park in the nearby NCP car park, the hotel will give you a discount so that the price paid is no higher than in their own car park. Throughout […] our stay the customer service was excellent from the check in to breakfast in the restaurant. Breakfast itself was of a higher standard than in many similar hotel chains, with a very good choice of fresh food. We were staying on a Sunday night and there was no noise from street level. The room contained a queen size bed and a sofa bed. There was not a lot of room with 4 people in the room, which we had expected,and our one criticism was the size of the sofa bed which was a tight squeeze for two teenagers. It would have been better to have the main bed as a king size and make the sofa bed a little wider. The bathroom set up was the same as other Novotels we have stayed in with the toilet separate from the sink and the bathroom. We still think it would be better to have a small sink in the toilet area. Overall, we were pleased with our stay at the hotel and would have no hesitation in using it again. Mehr

I booked this accomodation for my son and his family and they found it excellent. Central position in the town centre and close to all amenities. Breakfast was supurb and the boys enjoyed the swimming pool. They were able to park in the NCP behind the hotel at a reduced rate. Very handy for legoland which was a 30 minute drive. I would recommend this hotel, however be very careful, they don't like it if you don't book direct with the. We were made to feel very inadequate for having booked through hotels.com. In addition they pushed to sell us an upgrade, which in the end, we took, only to find they could not give us an upgraded room and ended up having to go back to the room […] we originally booked. Very convenient location to train, bus to airport and town. Clean with nice gym. Noisy neighborhood on weekends. On my second stay, paid more for room on higher floor to get away from noise.

The hotel is in central reading and has secured parking on site which is excellant. The hotel decor is modern and the rooms are adequate in size. Ideal for business trips or short stay.

Hotel has nice spacious if rather bland rooms - toilet was separate from the rest of the bathroom and did not have its own washbasin. Although we had booked an executive room we did not have advertised extras such as bathrobes and coffee maker. For what you are getting, consistently the best value in town. Great rooms, great breakfast, (small) gym, pool. All it really needs to be perfect is a socket close to the bed.

This hotel is centrally located, minutes walk from the main shopping streets, and about 15 minutes walk to the canals and River Thames and the walking routes along that. The only problem (at time of writing) is the roadworks currently taking place on Station Road, next door, which can be a problem with pedestrian traffic, if your bringing suitcases […] (or a bicycle) from the railway. Brand new hotel first class emenities and fittings through out. Only one problem was car park access, needed to get directions from City Centre to locate car park.

Very central although had a problem finding the car park due to the one-way streets and restricted areas for cars around railway station.Parking charge rankled but parking in town would otherwise have been a problem.Staff all very friendly and helpful.Hotel modern and had everything required for comfortable stay.Nice leisure suite and pool.Breakfast […] good value and attentive staff regularly restocked buffet and gave impression of caring. Some of the staff in the Novotel were the rudest, most inconsiderate staff i have ever encountered. After we came back from my brother's wedding at approx. 12 midnight by coach on a Saturday night - the hotel bar was closed and they refused to open it. Fair enough, they may not have had the staff rostered. We asked the door staff what bars / clubs would […] be open. The response was 'I don't know' . There was about 25 of us. So we sat in the lobby and got the beer from the mini bar in ours rooms (No wine / spirits in the minibar!). I was standing by the end of the bar with my cousin and a member of the hotel staff came up to me and said 'just to let know that the hotel bar is alarmed'. I asked ' What do you mean' He said 'just to let you know, if you take anything the alarm will go off'. I couldn't believe that this guy was implying that i would steal drinks from the bar. Another person asked for an empty glass and the response was no. I was going to say it to the manager when checking out but the the guy at the counter didn't even ask how was my stay. I will never stay in a Novotel again. Disgusted. I can honestly say i have never checked out of anywhere in my life and not been asked how was my stay. Maybe they are used to guests stealing stuff as even the biros on the reception counter are tied to strings. The rooms are quite small but well designed. The showers are great. Charging £7 to get broadband in a supposed 4 star hotel is ridiculous. Free wifi is fairly standard in most hotels these days. Next door is an IBIS hotel, which is also part of the Accor group. Obviously, some of the cost cutting budget mentality has infiltrated the Novotel. Mehr

The hotel itself is warm welcoming and clean with good in house service. However, on arrival there was nowhere to drop off luggage as we were in a car and could not pull up outside. We did park in front of the hotel for approx 3-5 minutes( certainly no longer) but were nearly landed with a parking ticket. My husband managed to speak kindly to the traffic […] warden and avoided a fine but there really should be somewhere for guests to drop off their belongings and check in without fear of a fine for doing so. We were then directed to the hotel car park but were not informed there was a cost associated with this and were surprised at the demand for £14 when checking out. There is a fee notice as you leave the car park but I feel the reception staff should be more up front about the charging policy on check in. The hotel is brilliantly located if you travel by train but not so convenient for folk with cars. For this reason I wouldn't recommend it to friends who want to stay in Reading because of the difficulty of access and cost of parking. It was a shame because the hotel itself provided a good service and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Mehr

good value and great location

I use this hotel whenever I stay in Reading. It is fantastic value for money at weekends. Rooms have aircon and are very comfortable. Swimming pool is fantastic and sets you up for the day. Highly recommended.

Very nice and outstanding location in the centre of town. Easy to go out and eat or just stroll. Great customer-centric service.

Great hotel. The pool, steam room and sauna are a great plus. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the hotel is in a great central location. I don't stay anywhere else these days.

Ligger 15 minuter med buss från Heathrow, det går billiga flygbussar flera ggr per timma som stannar utanför dörren. Personalen på hotellet var suverän, de gav mig en gratis bussbiljett, fixade ett billigare taxialternativ och var mycket vänliga och trevliga. Detta är ett suveränt alternativ om du ska spendera en natt vid Heathrow.

Flott hótel, frábær staðsetning, gott viðmót og þjónustulund gerir það að verkum að ég mun hiklaust velja þetta hótel eigi ég leið til Reading aftur. Við vorum fjögur saman í þessari ferð og vorum við öll mjög ánægð með dvöl okkar á Novotel - Kærar þakkir fyrir okkur.
