Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr zentral. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Leider ist die Klimaanlage oder die Lüftung auf dem Zimmer sehr laut und lässt sich nicht abschalten. Meine Freundin und ich war Ende Okt. 2011 für zwei Nächte im Hotel in Montevideo. Wir können das Hotel nur empfehlen. Wir hatten ein sehr schönes Zimmer mit Blick auf den Rio de la Plata, so dass wir Schiffe anschauen konnten. Es liegt zentral (15 Gehmin. bis zur Altstadt). Es liegt nur ein Block von der großen Hauptstr. enfernt... Das Zimmer hat […] Kabelfernsehen (mit DW und CNN), es gibt einen Fön, Duschgel und Shampoo im Bad, ein gutes Frühstück, WiFi, zwei öffentliche Computer (wobei einer kaputt war), einen Pool, Sauna, Gym,... Vielleicht liegt es an unseren brasilianischen Hotelerfahrungen, aber es war das erste Hotel nach zwei Wochen Backpacking in Südamerika, dass mit "europäischen Standard" umschrieben werden kann. die an vergangene zeiten reminiszierende einrichtung der hotelzimmer wurde schon ausreichend gewürdigt . dafür war das zimmer geräumig und in der abwägung des einen gegen das andere würde ich die größe vorziehen - das bad allerdings bedarf einer dringenden renovierung - nicht nur im stil , sondern auch in seinen funktionalitäten . sonst bleibt zu sagen […] , dass die datenleitung sehr langsam , das personal freundlich und hilfsbereit waren und die lage eben der von montevideo entspricht . so läßt sich zusammenfassen : nicht berauschend aber durchaus akzeptabel . I arrived at 0900 and was told that check-in time wasn't until 1400. The desk clerk held rigidly to this and I was not allowed to my room until after 1400. WiFi was unreliable and there were workman banging away in the room next to mine all day and all the day after I checked in. Some members of the hotel staff should be aware that comments made away from the hotel guests can be heard.Specially when you speak a little louder than you should. Some guests rather pretend that they did not hear your comments out of sympathy for you having a bad day.However don't make it a habit otherwise it indicates that you are in the wrong job. […] It reflects poorly on your place of work and it's not compatible with your co workers that are good at their jobs . Friendly staff; I was always greeted with a smile during my stay. The only one thing though was that the breakfast room was kind of cramped, and many people, including myself, had to share a table with other guests. Also, their plates and glasses could have been larger.

The hotel is in Centro, two blocks off the main street of the city and within walking distance to the Old City where there are a lot of restaurants and cafes. They have a full breakfast included with your room and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Good location, rooms are old and a bit worn, I expected better for the price. Bar staff are great, others not so much. Left hotel for the entire day, room was not cleaned. Asked for late checkout, was told no problem. Then at checkout they hit me with a $60 charge for late check out that was never mentioned before. Service is very good and gentle. It has free parking for costumers and you can use it even after the check out. It seems that the hotel was very modern when was built, but any improvement has been made since then, so, room services are old, like a 70's hotel. Breakfast is very good, complete and fresh and it's very centrally situated.

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Lafayette. The breakfast was terrific, and I liked the noon check-out time. The location was great, and the area seemed safe and pleasant.

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Very nice rooms and internet worked well in the room (can't say that for all South American hotels). Great location. I am not going back to this hotel, ever. You can get something better for the same price in Montevideo. First of all, the room was very small, the furniture was not very new, and especially, the staff was not helpful at all - the guy in the reception refused to call a taxi to me!

Really, for the price, you can't ask for more. I didn't try the pool or weight room but my room was just fine. Initially there was a problem with the wifi but the staff was all over it and resolved the issue within the hour. I only had one small snack of wine, fried shrimp and a caprese salad and the food was fine. The service in the restaurant though […] was glacially slow. It's not that he wasn't working... But there was only one person serving...and running room service too. Breakfast was decent ... Though I still ended up going out afterwards to find something more substantial. I got the best deal. If you want go to Montevideo for leisure and do not want to spend unnecessary money, you will please with this hotel. It has a excellent location, good breakfast and free wifi. The only problem is the air conditioning, it is a central system. I had to shut it off and opened the room window.

Reservamos um quarto com cama de casal 20 dias antes da viagem, porém chegando lá não tinha quarto com cama de casal "disponível" e nos acomodaram num quarto com 2 camas de solteiro. O check in foi realizado às 17hs e no quarto não tinham toalhas no quarto, tive que solicitar 2 vezes, mais de 30min para poder receber as toalhas e tomar banho. Box com […] cortina não nos agrada. Um dos diferenciais que nos fez escolher esse hotel foi o estacionamento, porém já na 1ª noite o carro teve que ficar na rua pois o estacionamento estava lotado (outra opção era parar 2 quadras do hotel). O hotel estava cheio pois era Carnaval e a mesa de servir o café da manhã é muito pequena, não tinha disponibilidade de comidas, os funcionários ficavam repondo a todo instante. Na última noite pedimos um room service e, pra fechar com chave de ouro, eles cobram U$ 5 por esse serviço. Mehr

Os banheiros são simples, tem ar condicionado, mas o hotel é velho, tem então alguns problemas de infra, o estaciomamento é privado, mas pode lotar, e dessa forma precisa colocar o carro em um estacionamento terceirizado e andar por uma rua lateral pouco ilumimada a noite.
