Bradley Hotel - Windsor Locks

The hotel was under major renovation.

I want to start by saying all of the staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel sketched me out a little. I was on the first floor and my room had a large sliding glass door that faced the dark back lot of the hotel. Since I was there on my own, it made me uneasy. I wasn't sure how secure that entrance was. Never been a room with a second entrance like […] that. There were also people running up and down the hallway for what seemed like all night. I arrived around 12:30am and they still woke me up periodically. Also there were a lot of kids in the indoor pool well after the listed hours. It looked like some rooms were bordering the pool so I'm glad I wasn't in one of those. Mehr

The hotel is being renovated so parts are still a little outdated. However, the front desk service was wonderful with the staff going above and beyond to help us locate suitable restaurants and other amenities. The hotel is very reasonable and near to Springfield so it mad an excellent base for the Big E and for Six Flags. I will stay there again and […] look forward to their new pool Mehr

This hotel wasn't bad, a little old. Big downfall is that our room was on the 2nd floor with no elevator. Otherwise it was clean and comfortable.

The hotel was kind of hard to find, but once we did, we were very pleased with what we got for the price. Our room was large and comfortable, and the place was very clean. There aren't a lot of restaurants--or much of anything else--nearby, though, so we ended up ordering a pizza to be delivered. All in all, though, a nice place at a good price.

This hotel can seem a bit off at first given the maintenance going on with the entrance (I mean the area where cars pull under to drop people/luggage off), and a few drips going on in the lobby, but really beyond that everything was great. Quick check-in, clean room (though I'm not sure there's an elevator- we just took the stairs). Everything was above […] my expectations given the affordable price. Nice continental breakfast (pastries, cereal, coffee) that was available pretty late by hotel standards, which I appreciated. I was sorry we didn't have a chance to check out the pool. Convenient to Six Flags and the Big E (which is why we stayed), and easy highway access. Mehr

This hotel has a good lobby, but once you get into the corridors, you will feel the smell and see the very old and not well maintained condition of the hotel. It must be a very old hotel and requires renovation. The bedding used were not comfortable at all. Must be replaced. The breakfast is very basic and not at all healthy. In fact, the fruits […] were not even fresh. Also, there is construction work going on at the front making it look really bad. Not many people are staying here. You should avoid this hotel. Mehr

Obviously the owners/managers of this hotel have a large hotel to keep up - I think they are doing very well. The mattress was firm and comfortable, the sheets crisp and clean. The shampoos and the hair dryer were excellent. The pool looked very clean and inviting, though some plants would have added some character! The marble floors at the reception […] area were so clean you could eat off them, and the breakfast, while not fancy, was fine. In all staying there before an early flight was a great idea and I left CT feeling clean, rested and well-fed. I recommend this place to folks who have early flight from Bradley - or if they get back very late, too tired to drive. Mehr

Inexpensive place with good location close to the main road. Rooms are large equipped with everything you need in them. Clean descent place you can’t have anything better for this money.

The front oa Hotel is block off 1St room bed not made room not clean 2st room no A/C and had bad order to it (Musty smell) the continal breakfest bagels stale, no hot water for tea had to ask for it. The only good thing was the pool was clean

It was a nice hotel, but I am a little upset since I was told here was an airport shuttle and there was none. There is also no restaurant on site. It was worth the price, but missing a few things that would give it a higher rating.

Would have expected a high price given the season (fall foliage), but loved that it was not. The experience lived up to the pictures (which some places do not). Pillows were not junk, an ultimate bonus. The only "flaw" was the request for a fridge.. was told that "no one was there to bring it up." My incorrect assumption had been there would be one […] in the room. I was informed that there was an extra charge $20 if one was desired and delivered. That information should have been included on the website instead of just the fact that they were available upon request on a first-come, first-served basis. I was impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of the staff at the hotel. The hotel is currently under remodeling. However, they provide the best service one can expect.

This hotel in my recent memory I have ever stayed. This place was a dump. They it was three miles away big lie.

Unhappy. It rain and the phone went dead card reader on room wouldnt work. No internet service. Pool closed and staff had no idea why. Thank goodness the price was cheap now I know why.

This place isn't nearly as bad as some of the reviews suggest. My room and bathroom were both clean. Hotel staff were very friendly. WiFi worked great. Interesting reproduced artwork throughout hotel. I have stayed in places that cost twice as much and weren't in any better condition than Bradley and in some cases worse. The pool was open and looked […] nice, although I didn't use it, other guests seemed to enjoy themselves. The only things I noticed was the ceiling leaking in the lobby when it rained. As long as the room didn't leak I could care less. The workout facility had only 4 aerobic machines that weren't exactly working. Other than that, I thought the place was fine. I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights for the week of August 15th, 2011, and i was very disappointed for a 3 star hotel. Everything looked worn and needing repairs. The wireless internet does not work in the rooms, and many rooms don't have an ethernet plug. I had to switch rooms 3 times because the front desk doesn't know which rooms have ethernet plugs and which don't. Rooms are NOT CLEAN! Spider webs in the corners. Saggy mattress. Only decent thing is that the bathrooms have been renovated recently.

This hotel is far from everything, but not that far. It took us less that 20 minutes to go to the Six Flags Park . My sons enjoy the pool and the breakfast is just enough: cereals, fruits, toast, bagels juice and coffee. Just perfect. Hotel is a significant value for the area. The service/desk personel were very nice and helpful. The lounge and grill advertised were non existant. The breakfast turned out to be a continental breakfast. The front of the place is a mess, cracks in the sidewalk, broken concrete, safety tape all in front. My 92yr old mother fell walking into the place. The place next to the entrance is falling apart, closed and a eye sore. Overall the place looks like a dump.

The location of the hotel was PERFECT, being about 30 seconds off the highway. Check in was very easy and done in about 2 minutes (which was good because we were running to the concert at the Comcast Center). The room was very comfortable and the place had a nice feel to it. I stayed with my family while sightseeing. Comforable room. Hallways needed vacuuming, but overall in decent condition on inside. Covenient continental breakfast. Friendly hotel staff. Recommended for a comfortable night's stay.

My door to my unattended room was left propped open by housekeeping staff for over 8 hours, with all of my stuff in the room, free to anyone to steal or abuse. The worst part of ordeal was the weak attempt at dispute resolution once this matter was escalated to management. I returned to my room after a long day out and found my door propped open with […] the door latch. The air conditioning had been set at 54 degrees, so my room was like a freezer. When I called the Front Desk to ask what was going on, the attendant was very apologetic and asked me to come and fill out a report. Thankfully, up to this point I have not noticed anything missing from my belongings. The front desk attendant seemed genuinely apologetic and assured me that this was unacceptable and would be taken care of. That is where the attempts to keep me as a customer ended. After being handed off the Night Manager, he took some notes and told me to contact him in the morning before I left to see what could be done. When I tried to find him in the morning he was unavailable. I was told to call the GM the next day. I had to call twice to get in touch with him after leaving an un-returned message. He exerted minimal effort to reassure me that this would not happen again and that I should give them another try. I guess I was expecting some attempt at customer retention. I travel often and very seldom have complaints worthy of a review. I did my research on this hotel and found it to be significantly cheaper than the others nearby. I decided that even though there were several unflattering reviews, it looked clean enough. I thought that the negative reviews where isolated incidents that occasionally happen. Trust me, it seems these occurrences are more of pattern than an anomaly. Mehr

The outside is under construction. Somethings are not very clean (particularly the doors) but for the low price in the whole is barely acceptable.

This hotel exceeded all of me and my son's expectations. We plan on staying at the Bradley Hotel every time that we go to Hartford, CT. Great hotel, great price, nice indoor pool. The arcade is questionable, though! Fix that change machine!

Very old rooms, no microwave in the building, doors to rooms were scuffed and dirty (every one that I passed), carpet was old. I wouldn't have been as disappointed if it didn't get a three star rating. This is closer to a 1 1/2 to 2 star hotel at best. Lots of transient type folks were walking around. THE STAY WAS WONDERFUL , AND THE STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY, THEY HAD ME LAUGHING AT ALL TIMES

This was a very convenient place to stay because it's located so close to the airport. Breakfast was available in the morning but staff was slow in replenishing supplies like more milk, plates, napkins, etc. Hopefully this was just a fluke that morning and are normally always on top of things. Words can not express howw DISAPPOINTING this hotel was... It was very deceiving from what was on their website... The hotel was under remodeling , which was never mentioned on the website Ceiling tiles were damaged for removed, the floors and carpet were filthly dirty never looked like it was even vacuumed.. On the website mentioned of a grill and […] bar at the hotel well that was under construction like the rest of the hotel. There was no contential breakfast, so FALSE advertisment in every which way of the word.. I was very disguested, I would NEVER stay here again...I would have rather stayed at a cleaner hotel than this, I was afraid if rats, mice, or even roaches were going to come out and I brought my family including 2 small children with me... I had a nice stay for 2nights. The hotel looks are deceieving outside looks run down but inside its polished. My kids enjoyed the pool & eating next door at the sports bar and restarant. Breakfast was'nt hot just y bagels, toast, cereal, danish.

Friend and I did a whirlwind Hall of Fame weekend. Stayed here for the basketball Hall of Fame. I would only recommend this place because it is very easy to get to from the interstate, clean, and quiet. NOTE: There was no elevavator that we saw. The breakfast was pretty crummy but I expected that baes on the reviews. We saw/flushed a spider in the […] tub. Room took FOREVER to cool down. AC just wasnt very good. Interior is pretty old but in good shape. No issue for 2 males. Tv worked fine. All in all it is a 2.5 star hotel but is an excellent value for folks that just need a quiet place to sleep. The air was not working in our room we had to move to another room 1:00am in the morning. I had booked on Hotels.com and prepaid but still got stuck with handicap room where the shower flooded the bathroom floor and cobwebs with spiders were all over the room in the corners, on the ceilings, my grandchildren were scratching all over thinking buds were […] crawling on them. The front desk lady was very nice and seemed overwhelmed with that many people there at one time. I brought that hotel a lot of business that night. The service at the Bradley Hotel was excellent. The hotel is under rennovation, so the inside was a pleasant surprise to the outside. We came with our guinea pigs and there was no problem. They do not have a complimentary shuttle service to BDL, but they do offer it for a flat fee at any time, once again with great service. No room service but they […] have some restaurants that deliver to your room. There is a pool and complimentary continental breakfast. Overall, pleasantly suprise, and looking forward to the end of the rennovation to come back. Mehr

The shuttle couldn't make it on time, so I got to the hotel an hour later than planned... at 1:30 a.m. Miserable. Then the neighboring room's alarm clock kept going off every 9 min. and the front desk couldn't be reached all night to go in and shut it off. Got no sleep. We checked into the hotel, knowing it was under construction. How ever, we did not expect to have to climb the stairs with luggage. there were no elevators. Normally, that would be acceptable. There are only 2 levels. How ever, we walked clear to the other end of the hotel to get to our rooms. It is in the middle of no where. And yet, they charged us […] for parking for the night. We were surprised by that. There was probably 12 cars there total. Lots of parking spaces. One good thing I can say about it is the close proximity to the Bradely International Airport. They did charge for the ride to the airport. We did not mind that. My son's flight was at 6:00 AM. And we were too tired to drive him there. Mehr
