Wir haben das Hotel ausgesucht, weil wir am nächsten Morgen weiterfliegen mussten und nicht nach Downtown fahren wollten. Der Gratis-Shuttle-Bus hat uns in 5 Min vom Flughafen ins Hotel gebracht, wo wir beim Einchecken ein Upgrade des Zimmers erhielten (nach dem langen Flug eine sehr angenehme Überraschung). Weitere Pluspunkte: freundliches Personal, […] Gratis-WiFi in der Lobby sowie ein am Hotel angrenzendes Einkaufszentrum mit einem genialen Food Court ("Food Republic"). Far overpriced for the location.

Other than the huge bug I found in my room everything else is perfect. I came here to stay one night before travelling to Shenzhen, I came at 1:00 A.M. and they couldn't let me check in before noon because the hotel was overbooked which I understand, I stayed there for a full day and they helped me later on to plan my trip to Shenzhen. Overall, the place is really great. Its convenient as its beside the mall since we have our 1y/o some with us..and transportation is not a problem. Its a bit far from the main market place if you're up to goin to mongkok... Breakfast selection is good, suggest to add variety and croissants in the pastry lane is a bit off..

This hotel is very nice and the location is in a very convenient location close to the Airport. The hotel will pick you up at the airport and also take you to the airport every 15 minutes. The hotel is attached to the Citygate mall which also connects with the subway station. My only complaint is that Novatel charges $10 a day for their internet. Novotel Citygate HK is really a wonderful hotel except for one tiny but very disturbing problem... Its location is very good - close to shopping mall with many many outlets selling branded goods and other shops such as Dymocks (bookshop), Pizza hut, Starbucks, Pacific Coffee, Fortress (electronic goods), etc. Restaurants, food court and a very big […] supermarket (Taste) in the basement are within the mall. MTR station is also within walking distance. And the airport is only 10 mins' away via the free shuttle bus provided by the hotel. The people running the hotel were warm, professional, helpful and patient - very approachable and friendly indeed. Our room was very clean, well laid out and cosy except... The only one flaw is the very noisy aircond in our room (no.1229), making our sleep very difficult. Because my wife and I stayed only one night before flying off the next day (prior to this we spent 3 nights in Langham, Kowloon), we did not want to complain about the noise - to avoid the hassle of packing / unpacking and moving to another room. Besides, the outside view from my room at 12th level is really breathtaking. One can see the sea, the hills and the greens - on a clear day, the view is very beautiful. If the airconds in the other rooms are just as noisy, I certainly would not want to come back to this hotel. We value good sleep very highly. very nice hotel - great location and professional staff. only 5 minute free shuttle ride to the Hong Kong airport - also a 10 minute walk from the subway / train which connects you to all of Hong Kong. One can purchase a 24 hour subway / train pass for $5 US dollars.

Overall, I would say it is a good hotel, great location, a walking distance to the Bund, and the walking street that is famous for the local food retail shops. The room is spacious, and comfortable. The best is the pillow which is made of rice. I would say I had the best sleep using those rice pillow. I wish I could buy and bring back one for my house. […] One thing the hotel can improve on is their service. Check-in was smooth on the executive level. Attendant was very sensitive to my needs, and all questions were settled quickly. Breakfast offered a wide selection, i.e. pastries, brad, hot buffet... Cook does not know how cook poached eggs though. I would expect that the yoke would be a bit runny. It was as hard as a hard boiled egg. Got a second one, […] and it was the same. Overall, the hotel is very conveniently located. Staff is decent. Good place to spend a night if you have a long, overnight layover. Otherwise, not much to see around the hotel though. Mehr

Due to the earlier comments here at hotels.com I was quite concerned when I got to the Novotel Citygate. At the reception I told them about my concern and asked them to give me a nice room. The smoking rooms, which I asked for, were all occupied and therefor they asked if I'd liked to be upgraded to a room at the Executive floor, although not a smoking […] room. I accepted the offer, mainly cause they told me the WiFi was free in those rooms. The room was great and the bed was very comfortable and not as hard as I was getting used to, after some months of travelling in Asia. Also checked out the gym, which was very basic and for bodybuilders or other gym nuts, it wouldn't have done the job. For me it was great for a workout the day of my arrival and the next day. There is a big mall with all the fancy brands you can think of just next door and if I had more time I would probably have done some shopping. Did some window-shopping though... The airport shuttle was frequent and good. No problems with check-out or anything else. Didn't go to the breakfast buffet, but I did enjoy the lunch buffet, that was well worth every Hong Kong buck I had left. Pleasant stay and good staff! Mehr

This hotel is quite new and beautiful. It is not right at the hotel (one other hotel is attached to the airport and one is very close - this one requires a shuttle ride of 5-10 minutes).

Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms and facilities. Wonderful room design.

Excellent hotel. I would recommend for anyone wanting to stay near the airport. I like to stay in Kowloon or Hong Kong Island if I have time in Hong Kong, but if just going through the airport this is a great hotel.

Good service and the staff can speaking english very well. The location is one building with citygate outlet mall so we can shopping anytime.

Novotel Citygate is good for a stop over. It is close to the MTR & the cablecar to the Big Buddha, also they have a free shuttle bus to & from the airport. The rooms are looking abit tired tho. For convenience you can't beat it.

As we were overnight in HKG (1 nite, 2 days) Novatel Citygate was excellent choice. There was plenty for us to do handy to the hotel for the two days, hotel and restaurants were great. Hotel is attached to large shopping facility with lots of restaurants, shopping etc and the rail, and Giant Buddha very handy.

I always stay in this hotel since I like to hang out in the Discovery Bay area. What's good is it's near the MTR if I want to go to the city center. And near the bus station too! Of course, the Citygate Outlet Mall is right beside it for shopping. It's also near a Supermarket (basement, called Taste) where you can buy all the food you need. Great buffet […] as well. Mehr

The hotel location is convenient which is located within a big shopping mall(almost all outlets of branded products, but doesn't mean cheaper). When we checked in, we asked for non-smoking room but when we move in and found it was at smoking floor and smelly. But we had replacement immediately after we raised the issue to the receptionist. The room […] is small and looks old fashioned. Don't have bathrobe. The door is very heavy and difficult to open even for an adult. So that it will be a potential risk in case of fire. Internet connection is very expensive. But a traveller who just want to stay for one night to catch early morning flight, this hotel is good enough. We will choose to stay here next time. Mehr

Excellent hotel overall, close to airport, free transfer shuttle

I have been to Hong Kong and China many times in the last decade, and I have stayed in a lot of hotels. Trust me when I tell you this, Novotel City gate in particular is the absolute BEST hotel in the whole country! I have stayed in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Shanghai and Guangzhou and the bottom line is not one comes close to this Hotel. Although […] it maybe on Lantau Island slightly removed form Kowloon/Hong Kong the subway make that virtually easy to overcome, not to mention the Mall connected to the Hotel makes life simply amazing between the food and shopping. If you want a place you can feel safe, have much to do/ eat peace of mind, this is the place to be! Trust me, I'm one stuck up, obnoxious New Yorker who like things to be perfect and have some pretty High standards. This Hotel exceeds ALL my expectations, from location to amenities! A nice & comfortable hotel, with min of walking - you are able to access to many international branded shops like Polo Ralph , Coach, Bally etc. Staying in the premier floor has also been a pleasure as we got to enjoy some snacks while waiting for check out. We have to catch an 8am flight to Malaysia from Hong Kong, this hotel provided free shuttle to the airport and only took 10 minutes. We were able to sleep in instead of getting up at 5am if we stay at the hotel in the city. We even have time to do a little sightseeing, visited the temple. The hotel is clean and modern.

My wife and I stayed at Novotel Citygate for a night on our way back to the US after a week in Thailand. We stayed on the 18th floor and our room was great. Very clean, comfortable and soft (especially by Asia standards) bed. It's attached to an outlet mall that has Starbucks and a few other nice coffee places in addition to a pizza hut and McDonald's, […] for foreigners who are not feeling particularly adventurous. One of the best features of the hotel is the free shuttle to and from the airport. It runs about every 15 minutes and the ride to the airport is less than 10 minutes. Very convenient, especially since we arrived in the evening and flew out the next morning. We will definitely stay here again and can highly recommend it. Mehr

The hotel is 10 minute walk from Tung chung MTR station. The shuttle service from hotel to airport is free for hotel guests. However, the WIFI is expensive and charged for guests. WIFI in lobby is free but in room it is charged.

good service and staff, clean hotel. definitely recommend if you need to be around the hk airport area. the pool is nice in the summer time too!

A very nice hotel in a great location. Price of room was high considering the charges for extras such as breakfast and Internet in room. Internet charge was especially, unreasonably high. For the price of the room, the Internet service should be included. Mark

We only stayed one night due to an early flight the following day, was only about 15-20mins to the terminal. It is located inside a shopping centre full of outlet stores and restaurants and is next to the gondolas that take you to see the big Buddha. The hotel itself was excellent, however the cab ride to the airport was more than what the receptionist […] had suggested. Mehr

We have stayed at the opposition hotel attached to the Hong Kong Airport but it is very cold and lacking service and quality amenties. Novotel was top. Only problem is it is hard to find the shuttle bus. But better to go find the blue local taxi and cost HK$25 easier and the driver is happy for the fare

This is one of the best hotels i have stayed at on the planet, in HK i have stayed in 10 others in HK, near the airport and rail system. doesn't get easier.

Quick curtesy c oach trip from airport. Very efficient and polite staff. Comfortable room. Very easy access to MTR and Ferries. The only disappointment was being unable to watch Rugby World Cup in our room, a screen was set up down in one of the bars but we had just arrived and were exhausted so would have appreciated being able to watch in comfort […] of our room. Not a big deal. Very clean and comfortable and has great shopping complex attached. Once you get6 your bearings it is easy to find your way around. 30 mions on the MTR into Hong Kong. Great stay for connecting flight next day. free shuttle from airport in 10 minutes. Citygate Outlet center next door with nice supermarket and restaurants outside hotel. Also cable car to Great Buddha next door.

This hotel was very nice, near Hong Kong International airport. It is inline with the prices for hotels located in the area, but a little higher than hotels located further from the airport. I really enjoyed this hotel, and the only drawback I noticed was locating the place to catch the shuttle. A desk for a limo service actually handles getting guests […] to the shuttle, so it was a little confusing without knowing this first. Good location for all sights seeing for Tung Chung areas. Only half an hour train to Central. Will come back and stay again.
