We were able to make last minute reservations which was nice. Very close to the beach. Kind of a small room, but was pretty nice considering. Access to the hotel was kind of a pain. No problems with noise and there was always someone available at the desk if needed. I would easily stay here again.

We were very happy with the cleanliness and condition of the room we stayed in at the Rodeway Inn. The beds and the linens were first rate as were the pillows. The bathroom was huge. I believe that might have been because we got a room normally saved for disabled persons. This may be why the room was in such good condition. I am guessing that it may […] be kept for late arriving people, saving it for last in preference to a disabled person. I can't comment on whether the rest of the room was set up for the needs of the disabled but the bathroom and the close disabled parking were. The breakfast offerings were fine. The only negative we experienced was a weak wi-fi signal. Mehr

I was surprised by this little gem! Roadway Inn has an amazing location, near the freeway, quiet cute little neighborhood, and only minutes from all the action and beauty on Pacific Beach.The staff is very friendly and helpful,they offer complimentary coffees and treats at all times, as well as a modest continental breakfast! I love that the bedding […] is updated and the rooms are more modern than it's competitors, as well as offering free wifi, parking, and flat screen TV's with cable! I love that you don't get sick from the loud 80's styled floral blankets and terrible curtains, very simple and clean with very comfy beds! If you have your own car or are renting one, this place is the perfect price and distance from everything! Seaworld is one mile away, and being so centralized to everything down there, it only takes moments to get where you need to be! I would highly recommend staying here, and we will be back! The hotel was in a great location. Everywhere we wanted to go in San Diego was within 10 miles at the most. The room was clean and comfortable and they had a great continental breakfast. The only problem we had is the room didn't have a hair dryer and we didn't bring one with us. We are definitely going to stay here again the next time we visit SD.

Breakfast was good the kids had waffles n yogurt hot cocoa. There were granola bars the kids took for a snack and the staff was very friendly. Its a great place if your just looking for a place to sleep and get up n go.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The front desk agent was full of useful information about local restaurants and bars. Its the little things that count as well..the free coffe, hot chocolate, candy at the front desk was nice icing on the cake. This was an okay hotel. It served its purpose for the two days we were there. The rooms are average size with only a walk in shower. Rooms were clean. My biggest issue was their free "breakfast". It consisted of instant oatmeal packets, toast, fresh fruit, and Hostess Cupcakes, Little Debbie snacks, and granola bars. I do not consider cupcakes and Nutty […] Bars a breakfast food. There is a McDonalds up the road about 1 mile. Mehr

Loved the fact the room was very clean. Couldn't sleep at all since the people next door kept talking loudly in the hallway and music was being played all night. Called the front desk twice during the night and front desk came to talk to the people making the noise they stopped but continued later on. I got overcharged by "accident" also which the front […] desk said they would refund me those charges within 3-7 days....If it hadn't been for those incidents I would stay in this hotel again... the room was nice for the price, but we had some problems with noisy neighbors that would go outside to smoke at 2 and 4 oclock in the morning, and needed their car stereo blasting rap music for company.. i dont think management ever did anything about it..overall, not a bad place..nice staff and decent location. The upgrades to the rooms are very tastefully done. All ammenities are impressive including microwave popcorn! The continental breakfast in the lobby is substantial including healthy foods and organic coffee! The rooms are very quiet despite the location which is near a freeway and on a main road. For the price, an adequate hotel. Reserved it for its price and proximity to my destination. A little hard to get to as you have to make a u-turn to get to it on a very busy, fast, dangerous spot. Caution getting into and out of this property! Nice beds but tired bathroom fixtures and stained/worn carpets. Nice desk staff, very friendly and accommodating. […] Sketchy area near a lot of car dealer lots. No walkable streets or services nearby. Probably would try for something nicer on my next trip. Mehr

We all really enjoyed our stay at the Rodeway Inn. It was very pet friendly and the staff was great. The room was clean and I loved the setup. So often I feel like Im sleeping in a hall closet but this room was spacious and convenient. Would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at this location the week before, and had a very good experience. However, this last stay was horrible. I checked-in and went to my room to find that it was dirty. It hadn't been clean! After getting attitude from the front desk, they put me in another room. This room's bathroom door was off the hinge, so you couldn't close it. My girlfriend […] needed an iron, but my room didn't have one. When I called the lobby, I got nothing but more attitude. When I was there previously my room had a DVD player. So this last stay I went and rented some DVDs to watch. To my surprise the room they put me didn't have one. When I called to see if I can get one, they told me I couldn't because those rooms are reserved for "special" guest. It's unfortunate because my first stay was so pleasant, and I travel to this part of San Diego often, but after this last stay I will not be returning. I rather pay a little bit more, and not have to deal with attitude, messy or broken rooms. Mehr

My email account was hacked at this hotel,I loss all my contacts and cheating mails was distributed under my name to all my contacts !! It should be some of WiFi access points were hacked by some one around the hotel !

Location was great. The rooms are brand new. The only thing was that the room was freezing and I couldnt figure out how to turn on the heat. Im sure I could've called the front desk for help but I got lazy. Overall great place to stay short term or long term!

The bed was comfortable, The bathroom was stocked well, Had a mini fridge and microwave. I loved every aspect. felt like a small apartment.

If u guys wanna go there for a busy day of the year like NYE....DONNNNTTTTT its pretty far away from the bars and the cabs are rude. They dont want to give u a ride 2 miles down. Also, the receptionist friends came and the host was more interested in being with his friends then to check us out because of our bad experience!!! I had a mishap with the booking of my room. The staff was very helpful in resolving the issue even so they were not responsible for the booking error. The hotel itself was very clean, the location was convenient enough with close access to the I-5 as well as the nearby mission beach, though nothing is in walking distance. I would definitely recommend […] the hotel. The only minor downfall was the softness of the mattress, but this is more of a personal idiosyncrasy than a general critique: I like my mattresses hard. ;-) Mehr

We were pleasantly surprised by our room and how quiet it was at this hotel. Very nice beds and bedding and the staff were all helpful and friendly. Quick access to the interstate and PB and Mission Bay. A bargain price for the area as well. We will go here again.

Clean, well maintained hotel. Close to the beach & freeway so it was easy to get around. Staff was very helpful & friendly also

The room itself was nice. It came with a microwave and a refrigerator. Location was convenient and parking was included. Now for the bad stuff..... 1. We had to get new room keys each day - Something about security measures. Pain in the butt! 2. No hair dryer in the room. 3. Maid service - Day 1 she walked by saw the room door was opened and asked […] if there was anything we needed, I told her that we would like some extra coffee. She came back up with the coffee and never came back to make the bed take out the trash or anything. Day 2 she came by after 3pm, needless to say we were back for the afternoon and didn't want her in the room. Day 3 she never came by at all! There was 3 days worth of overflowing trash that I told the front desk about it but nothing was done. Mehr

I enjoyed staying there. The bed and other amenity are better than many other inns I stayed in the past for the price range. Good customer service, too.

Was attending a party at a club in PB and knew the smart thing to do was book a room close by. The cost was right for only needing a place to lay the head for a few hours after a night of partying. To my suprise, RWInn had upgraded all thier rooms with new beds, TV and decor. Parking was available right outside my door and only a 5 minute cab ride into […] the heart of PB. They saved me from a possible DUI or $100 cab ride to north county. Very pleased and would stay again. Mehr

At first it was very difficult to access the entry and exit of the Inn. After a little expirimenting we findly found the easest way in and out. It would of been a lot easer if the management would have givin us directions upon checkin in. Other than that the Inns staff was very helpful.

It was a very simple, clean, and updated hotel. Neighborhood wasn't glamorous, but it still felt safe. It was located in a very convenient location ..very close to the beaches, shopping, and fairly close to downtown and places like the zoo. Will definitely stay here again when visiting San Diego again.

nice place for the money, only downside was no pool and not a lot of choices for places to eat. was great for what we needed, would probably stay again.

Enjoyed staying at this hotel, it's in a fairly good location if you want to stay just away from the crowds at pacific and mission beach or if you don't want to pay the prices. Its also in a good location to jump on the freeway to go to little italy, gaslamp quarter or if you want to go to the beach. For the price, I'd stay there again.

Though located right off the highway, this older property is quiet, clean and convenient. You can get to the beach, downtown or Old Town in minutes, anf the price is very fair for a nice older property.

Rooms were nicely upgraded except for the AC units. Our first night was horrible. We noticed that the AC wasn't working after an hour in the room. I asked thr front desk if we could change but was told no other rooms were available. No fans were available as well & we would need to wait until the morning for maintenance to arrive... It was around 5 […] in the afternoon. The room got so hot that @ 2:30am my husband needed to open the room door to cool it off. We left early the next morning so maintenance could either fix or replace the unit. Upon our return,we were happy that they replaced the unit that was operational, although the vent was pointing directly at the box mattress due to the ac mounted a few inches above the floor. The remainder of our stay was tolerable but will not stay at this hotel chain again. I'd like to note that the hotel management did not discount our first night for tolerating the ac issue. The clerk said I would need to request this directly from manager, who was not available at that time. I didn't speak with Management upon checking out to see if they would "do the right thing". I'm sad to report that no apology, discount or contact by management was received. During our vacation, we stayed at Rodeway Inn twice at separate locations and was disappointed with both hotels. I'd say this was the better of the two but won by a narrow margin. Word to the wise, after checking in dould check that the ac is in working condition before settling in. If the ac is not in working order, do request a room change immediately. There's nothing worse than sweating at 2am.... Good luck! Mehr

Poor breakfast since apart from bread and butter there is not much. The rooms were OK. Good bedding. Noisy air conditioning though. Location is good.

The room is decent which is reflective of the price. The continental breakfast is a joke but for San Diego, the price can not be beat.

The room was small but clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast in the lobby was fine - not a huge choice but adequate. The neighbourhood was not great but well located for my needs. I stayed 2 nights which was fine, for a longer stay I would choose a more upmarket hotel.

This place was perfect for what I needed, a place to rest my head after Sea World and the Beach. It was a quick 10 minute drive from both. The site said fridge and microwave upon request and I didn't request one but was delighted to have one in my room anyway. Free WiFi. Free Parking. The room was small but very nice. Good location and near most attractions in SD. Only 5 minutes from Pacific Beach. Hotel is small and rooms are small, but nicely decorated. Although we were couple, the room had only 1 bath, 1 hand towel and 1 wash cloth, so we had to get additional items from the front desk. Seems they should have had towel accommodations in the room for two since […] we made the reservation for two. TV did not function well. It had cable, but the picture was not good on most channels. The bedframe had corners that came out where one could (and I did) hit your leg when going past it. The room and hotel was quiet, although it is located on a busy street. Great value accommodation right in the heart of Pacific Beach. Rooms were clean and facilities were good. Staff were friendly and complimentary breakfast was simple but appreciated.

Hotel easily accessed, a free blocks directly off the freeway. Can miss turn in if not looking. Parking is VERY limited. Room was nice. All the amenities (bed, TV, DVD player, microwave, frig, etc) with simple large art ... together it gave the feel of a nice Studio apartment.

I selected this motel based on reviews while keeping costs down and being close to my area of interest. We wanted to see Seaworld, Old-Town San Diego and Coronado Island and beach. All of these detinations were very close with easy access from the motel. The cost was very reasonable. The free breakfast buffet left a lot to be desired with few choices […] and weak coffee. There's a 7-11 within walking distance and great freeway access. Overall it was a very good experience! Mehr

Don't get me wrong, this hotel looks lousy from the road. As soon as you pull into the lot, you're in a nice, quiet enclosed area. The lobby is updated as are the rooms. The room was comfortable, clean and the bed was particularly nice. We really enjoyed the convenience of the location as well. Being so close to the 5 makes a trip to the zoo or sea […] world within 10 minutes as well as all the beaches within 15 minutes. The surrounding area isn't as nice if you're looking to walk to bars, restaurants, attractions (with the exception of the mission beach golf course next door), but this was the only limitation of being there. it was close to all mayor attractions. the hotel itself was clean. the continental breakfast was nice. the personnel were very helpful and friendly. the only thing that I did not like were the beds! VERY HARD (like a rock) I woke up with a back ache both nights. maybe they can change them. other than that, it was a nice place to stay for the price.

In terms of value for money this Motel didn't disappoint. Became very worried after reading some of the reviews and yeah the motel is not in the best location and the finish isn't quite there, but the rooms are big and generally clean - clean sheets, clean towels, clean bathrooms etc… ok a few stains on the carpet but it's CHEAP. Beds and towels were […] changed daily, complimentary breakfast was adequate and staff were very friendly. In terms of the amount we spent the Rodeway Inn exceeded our expectations –Oh and although we had a car we didn't need one, 5 min walk to nearest bus stop and San Deago has fantastic public transport links!
