A good experience

This is a good hotel for a short stay. It will not be confused with a Hilton, but it is a nice hotel with a pleasant staff and a decent breakfast. Nothing fancy. The rooms and bathrooms are fairly well up-to-date, the bathrooms have solid countertops, tile floors and updated shower/bathtubs. Even my wife found nothing to complain about with the bathroom […] and that is saying something. All in all, a decent place for a decent price. Mehr

My daughter & I stayed here for a visit to CNU ( Christopher Newport University). I was very happy with the hotel's cleanliness & the staff was very helpful with advice on local places to eat. Hotel was only a short drive to University.

Staff was courteous and helpful. Pool and spa tub were very enjoyable.

The staff were very friendly. The room was clean and the mattresses has pads for extra comfort. One light bulb was missing (no big deal), and the TV guide thing was way out of date (again, NBD). Nice sized fridge, good microwave; the free breakfast thing was good. Would definitely stay at this chain of hotels again, very good room and value.

Stayed two nights. great sleep! Breakfast toaster had issues as did the waffle maker. Will stay again.

We stayed over one night and found the staff friendly and helpful, able to give good directions to find our destination. Check in and out were quick. The room was clean and adequate. The free breakfast was fine with a variety of food choices. The WiFi connection worked well, not true of some other hotels we've stayed in recently. The exercise room was […] small, but sufficient. The only concern I had was that I had reserved a suite and got a regular room. I am told this happens frenquently when booking through a thrid party booker.

There were probably only 15-20 guests, but they seemed to have clustered everyone together because we heard a t.v. on one side, discussions through the wall on the other side, a baby crying across the hall(!?!) The front desk person didn't know where any close restaurants were. There was no shampoo in the room - just conditioner. And after a morning […] workout I went to jump in the pool, which was supposed to be open at 7:00. It was 7:30 and still not unlocked. None of this is critical, but just demonstrates a sloppy management. Mehr

The hotel staff was very friendly. We stayed two nights both mornings the breakfast was alittle different which was very nice. Would stay again.

I needed to stay in this area for a Certification Test I was taking. The hotel was clean and the staff was Wonderful! I will definitely recommend this to my friends.

my wife and my self stayed in a country inn and suites for 4 days. There was hair in the sink and bathtub. On saturday I asked the front desk to send up a maintaince person to fix the toilet seat, we checked out on monday the seat was not fixed.

First time staying at a Country Inn and it wasn't too bad. Not the best, but fine enough for somewhere I felt comfortable for my small child to run around in the room. My family and I were visiting Busch Gardens and I chose this hotel over the one located nearer to Busch Gardens based off of looks, but next time would probably just pick the other one.. […] I read the reviews before going and heard about the cookies, but none were available the 3 days and 2 nights we were there so don't count on that. Breakfast is okay but very very crowded for such a small area that couldn't accommodate 1/2 of the crowd the first morning we went. This was however Labor Day so maybe it's not like that all the time? They serve waffles, cereal, toast, muffins, and one morning had biscuits with sausage and gravy. Not sure how it was since I didn't try it, but just to give you an idea if your like myself and breakfast comes next to cleanliness... :-) Mehr

Had a wonderful two night stay at this hotel. We got a fantastic rate and usually pay at least double the price for the quality of amenities and service. The hotel staff we encountered were all fantastic. Everyone was courteous and helpful. The iced "orange water" was a refreshing treat as your entered the lobby each evening. Coffee was also available […] in the lobby 24/7. The rooms were immaculate and comfortable. Great pillows, linens and towels! The complimentary breakfast was nice with a variety of offerings, waffles, hot oatmeal with an assortment of add-ins, cereals, toast, bagels and pastries, along with several hot options, like home fries, eggs, and ham, every morning. The breakfast attendant acted more like a server at a restaurant and was quick to help anyone with a question or need and she kept the breakfast room spotless! The only possible complaint was that our room wasn't freshened up and a maid walked into the room while we were still there without knocking first. I was dressing! Yikes! We were getting ready to go out for the day. It was around 9am. We were out from about 9:30am until almost 10pm. When we arrived back, the bed was still unmade, no fresh towels, cups or new baggie for the ice bucket. Not a huge problem as we weren't too messy and don't mind reusing our towels. Overall it was a wonderful stay and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone! Mehr

The hotel was very close to a wedding we were attending in the area. The staff was very friendly upon our arrival and the room was available for an early check-in. The room was clean and comfortable, though our view of the roof was not all that spectactular. Susan was the first impression we had of the hotel other than the lobby of the hotel. Susan was fabulous and welcomed us with open arms upon our arrival. Andrew was another fabulous employee at the hotel. This hotel is a smoke free hotel staff can not control grown people who decide to ignore the rules. I made Susan and Andrew aware that someone smoked […] in our room (so I would not be charged a cleaning fee) and Andrew offered to put an oxygenator in our room while were out eating dinner. I am so thankful to him ecause we cae back to a clean smelling room. The pool was nice, the coffe and continental breakfast was great. The lady who attended to the breakfast was very sweet and soft-spoke. We are plannin on returning in October. Mehr

We had a last minunte travel plans & were nervous about staying at a 2 1/2 stars hotel as we always stayed at a much higher stars but we found this hotel to be pretty comfortable. We had a king suite which had a sofa bed in a seperate sitting area. My teenage son felt like he had his own room. The room weren't that big in size but the layout was comfortable. […] The breakfast, hot cookies & lemonade on the hall were a plus when you have to run in and out during your stay. Free breakfast is great, but the breakfast lady was super. Warm, friendly, efficient....I think the waffles tasted better because of her.

Very comfy hotel. Staff was super friendly and very helpful. Breakfast every morning. Everything was very clean. The rooms and common areas had more of a homey feel than a hotel. Lemonade and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. Hotel also had a pool, gym and lounge area.

We needed to visit CNU and found this hotel to be close, reasonably priced and clean. The staff were pleasant and helpful, the beds were comfortable. We stayed on the second floor and we heard some kids running around on the 3rd floor at night so maybe it doesn't have the greatest soundproofing. Breakfast was typical -not bad but not great either. Having just completed a four night stay we were very satisfied with all aspectscof the hotel. The roomscare very clean and made up promptly each day. The desk staff was very accomodating and did all they could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Each time we passed the desk we were greeted with a smile,hello and how's your day. The breakfast […] room is a great place to start the day with fresh coffee juice and both hot and cold breakfasts. The lady working the breakfast room made sure everything was full and if something did run out refilled it quickly. The hotel was clean and well maintained. Room was ready early and I checked in about 30 mins before check-in time. Staff was very helpful and polite. My King bed room was large and comfortable. Internet was good, in general, but would drop more than I would like and sometimes not come back for a few minutes. Pool and spa were clean, but the pool towels […] were really small and fairly worthless. After the first visit I brought a room towel. Breakfast was standard fair with waffles, canned fruit, juice, pastries, and coffee. Free newspaper was a plus. On the down side, the on-site laundry had something in the dryer that left spots on my shirts. Also, I was surprised that there was no HBO since they had the HBO Guide in the room. Surrounding area was a bit shaky, with a biker bar down the corner and a low-scale strip shopping mall (contained pay-day loans, etc) next door. But, it was 1 mile to a WalMart and many dining options were within 1.5 miles. Would stay here again. Mehr

EZ freeway access, quiet, secure, and friendly staff. Comfortable rooms. No complaints. I would stay there again.

I am really satisfied to live in this hotel with such a low price. Breakfast is better than other hotels with similar price. There was a discount when I reserve the hotel by the way.

THE STAFF AT THE FRONT DESK AND THE STAFF IN THE BREAKFAST WERE EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND EAGER TO MAKE OUR STAY COMFORTABLE

Very satisfied with the accommodations. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast area was well stocked. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through the area.

By far a great deal! Super breakfast, clean, quiet rooms, courteous staff, comfortable beds - this was truely a great place to stay!!!! I will stay here again! Loved it!!!

Everything was very nice. Breakfast was normal for this type of hotel. The lady taking care of the dining room was very nice.
