Das Hotel hat die 4 Sterne voll verdient! Wir würden das Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen. Das Frühstück ist vergleichbar mit jedem 4 Sterne Hotel in Deutschland. Die Zimmer sind sehr modern und entsprechen auch absolut dem Standard eines 4 Sterne Hotels in Deutschland.

Für unseren einwöchigen Venedigbesuch suchten wir einen idealen Ausgangspunkt und haben ihn im Hotel Ai Pini gefunden. Auf dem kleinen parkähnlichen Grundstück (etwas kleiner, als die Fotos vermuten lassen) konnten wir unser Fahrzeug die ganze Woche sicher abstellen. Ca. 15 m vor der Hotelzufahrt befindet sich eine Bushaltestelle und mit der Linie 7 kann man ohne Umsteigen direkt zum Busbahnhof in Venedig fahren, wo sich auch die Vaporettostationen befinden. Die Busfahrt dauert ca. eine halbe Stunde - der Bus ist je nach Tageszeit relativ voll. Vom Busbahnhof in Venedig kann man in ein Vaporetto umsteigen oder nach Überquerung der nächsten Brücke direkt die Gassen von Venedig erkunden. Im Hotel konnten wir auch die Kombikarten Hellovenezia für Bus und Vaporetto erstehen. Diese kostete für sieben Tage fünfzig Euro pro Person und hatte sich bereits nach dem zweiten Tag gerechnet. Das Personal im Ai Pini ist absolut freundlich und sehr hilfbereit - angefangen beim Empfang bis zum sehr guten Restaurant (empfehlenswert). Es ist jedoch ratsam, die etwas größeren Zimmer möglichst mit Blick auf den Park zu wählen - darin kann man sich aber sehr wohl fühlen (auch wenn es keine Zimmer mit Balkon gibt). Alles in allem als Ausgangspunkt für Venedigbesuche sehr geeignet.

Besuchern, die mit dem Zug oder Bus anreisen, präsentiert sich Cannaregio als Venedigs Eingangstür und als das Viertel, in dem der Canal Grande beginnt. Es gibt zwar mit den vorbeifahrenden Kanalbooten und den Besuchern auf dem Weg nach San Marco recht viel Touristenverkehr, doch sonst ist Cannaregio ruhiger und weniger touristisch geprägt als die Innenstadt Venedigs. Zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten zählen das Ghetto (ursprünglich eine jüdische Enklave) mit seinen Museen sowie der majestätische Palast Ca d'Oro, eines der Wahrzeichen am Canal Grande.

"Hotel mit idealer Lage"
Das Hotel liegt in unmittelbarer Nähe der Bus-Station Piazzale Roma und ist zu Fuß schnell zu erreichen. Die Dame am Empfang sprach gut deutsch und war sehr freundlich. Die Zimmer sind klein, klimatisiert und mit einer nachträglich eingebauten Nasszelle versehen. Das Frühstück war für italienische Verhältnissen zufriedenstellend.

"Schöne Tage in Venedig erlebt"
Hotel mit Einschränkungen zu empfehlen - wir waren 3 Nächte im Juni 2011 im Hotel und können folgende Erfahrungen mitteilen. Zuerst die negativen Aspekte: Das Zimmer war klein und die Nasszelle extrem klein. Das Frühstücksbuffet war im Vergleich zu anderen 3-sterne Hotels in Italien erher mager. Obst, Eier oder Nutella waren nicht vorhanden und die […] weitere Auswahl auch nicht übermäßig (je 1 Sorte Käse und Schinken, etc...). Auf Grund dieser Einschränkungen ist das Hotel aus unserer Sicht zu teuer - aber die Lage zahlt man halt mit. Positiv ist zu vermerken: + vom Bahnhof super zu Fuß zu erreichen (ca. 3 Min) und leicht zu finden +Zentrale Lage in Venedig und gute Anbindung an alle Schiffslinien und Highlights von Venedig +Sauberkeit des Hotels und der Zimmer + Freundlichkeit des Personals und Kompetente Auskünfte + in unserem Zimmer kaum Störgerösche zu hören + kostenlose Gepäckaufbewahrung in einen abgetrennten Raum am Abreisetag + 24 h besetzte Rezeption Da wir die meiste Zeit unterwegs waren und mit den Einschränkungen leben konnten ist dieses Hotel sicher eine Empfehlung wert. "Gute Lage"
Das Hotel liegt sehr nahe am Bahnhof und der People Mover Verbindung. Das Zimmer war sehr klein, aber sauber und ruhig.

Den insgesamt sehr guten Eindruck dieses Hotels schmälern nur ein nicht sehr abwechslungsreiches und nicht vielfältiges Frühstück, bei dem auch mehrmals die Pane (Brötchen) ausgingen und nachbestellt werden mussten! Die Rezeption grüßt scheinbar nicht sehr gerne ist dann aber im Gespräch sehr hilfreich und freundlich! "Kurzaufenthalt"
Der komfortable Standort des Hotels spricht für sich! Sehr gutes Verbindungsnetz in unmittelbarer Nähe erreichbar. Die Toilettenräume sind sehr eng und die Warmwasserregulierung in der Dusche war schwer einstellbar. Haarföhn fehlte, konnte aber an der Rezeption bezogen werden. Für einen Kurzurlaub nach Venedig ist das Hotel sehr empfehlenswert.

Das Hotel liegt nur eine Straße hinter dem Canal Grande und ist vom Bahnhof bzw. Piazzale Roma (Busbahnhof) in einigen Minuten erreichbar. Gute Verkehrsanbindung von der Haltestelle Ferrovia. Viele nette Restaurants und Bars sowie die Einkaufsstraße Strada Nova zwischen Rialto und Bahnhof sind in der Nähe. Das Hotel kann in ein paar Minuten vom Bahnhof zu Fuß erreicht werden. Zentral, da direkt an der Schiffsanlegestelle. Nicht ratsam für gehbehinderte Menschen, da vom Eingang eine steile Treppe zur Reception führt. Wir hatten ein sehr ruhiges Zimmer, sauber. Dame an der Reception sehr unfreundlich.

The location is perfect - 5 min. or less from the train station. We just walked with suitcases in tow. The room was clean, though not big. The best thing - it was QUET, though the street below is the main thoroughfare! The view from our window was nice (rooftops, not canals). The concierge was very knowledgeable and helpful. "Close to the Rail/Bus, NO WIFI"
Clean and useful, but pretty small room. Good happening neighborhood, where you can shop and eat very late. Slightly away from the attractions, but the water bus, rail and bus proximity made it a good location. NO WIFI in the room. Only wifi in the lobby at Euro5 PER HOUR.
"Gross room/ amazing location!"
Beyond great spot but beware! This was the only hotel in a week of experienceing our honeymoon in Rome Venice and Florence where I felt dirty! Gross walls! Gross bed! Overall dirty feel! I was itchy the whole timethinking there were bugs! All the rooms in Europe were small so we were ok with that- but reallyjust dirty! The breakfast was just ok and […] even though it on the 7th floor the view was not that great. That cool looking bar you see in the pictures- closed!! Overall, our least favorite hotel. Great hotel for the price. PERFECT location. 100m from the train station. Great pizza place next door and right off the Grand Canal. Would highly recommend. We needed a hotel close to the railway station. The hotel was clean, breakfast was good and the location ideal for Venice sightseeing. The Ritz it is not, but we found it very acceptable and reasonably priced.

"Hotel Nazionale, a reasonable cheaper option"
This is by no means the most luxurious hotel I've ever stayed at, but hotels in vencie arent cheap, and for the price this place was pretty good value for money. You could probably find somewhere on the Lido of far better quality for the same price, but if you want somewhere central, right in the thick of venice, and really close to transport links, […] then this is what you want. Room was simple, but fine, and always very clean. Breakfast was a good buffet of continental foods, not a full english, but a good spread of everything you want when on a mediteranian break. Staff were perfectly nice. No free wifi though. Again, the best thing about this hotel is its location. This hotel was very over priced no way is it 3 stars. When you first walk in the carpet on the main stairs says it all - Old stained and dirty. This whole hotel could do with a refit and clean!! We arrived early at the hotel and were told our room wasn't ready (which we expected cause we were early) came back 3 hours later were led to our room, had […] to nearly jog to keep up with the guy while carrying our own bags only to find the room was not ready and had not been cleaned, so we were let into the room next door which smelled like dog, but were so tired from travelling crashed out. During our stay we noticed the shower leaked and was causing the door frame into the bathroom to rot as well as the carpet outside the bathroom, looked discusting and smelled!!! the shower itself was horrible would not stay at one temperture if you turned it up to much when it changed it would either burn you or be freezing. Breakfast wasn't very good very basic no choices. Only good thing about this hotel was the location. Would NOT reccommend staying here Mehr

I was very dissappointed in this hotel. I thought we were getting a hotel with a 3 star rating when in fact I am not sure this hotel would rate a 2 star. The first room they gave us was located over the trash area. When we opened the window we were welcomed with flies and garbage smells. The second room had dirt marks on the ceiling and the walls. The […] sink in the bathroom was so smaill I could barely wash my face in it. In addition, each time we took a shower the bathroom floor flooded as the shower doors would not shut. Finally, the hotel does have a lift, but the information fails to point out that you must get to the reception area of the hotel, which is at least 40 to 50 steps up before you reach the lift. The hotel is fairly aged but the room was clean. The only issue with the room was they leave the windows open when the clean it and mosquitos get in the room. It is pretty well priced to stay right in Venice compared to other hotels and it's only about a 5 min. walk from the train terminal. It is a bit of a walk from the hotel to the main sights but […] hey it' Venice there are only 2 ways to get around either boat bus or walk. The only other weird thing I found with this hotel is that they want you to hand in your room key everytime you leave the hotel to go out other then that we were pleased with the hotel. Mehr

The hotel was in a great location, just a 3 or 4 minute walk from the train station and the Grand Canal. This was important to us as we came by train and there are no taxies to help get your luggage to where you are staying, so the streets are full of people draging their luggage to their hotel. We didn't have far to go. The Grand Canal by the train […] station is also a main place to pick up the hop on hop off water bus. The hotel is surounded by shops and restaurants, so it was fun to shop and eat near by. The breakfast was good and served in a plesant diningroom. Our room was very clean and nicely decorated, but quite small. It was in the back portion of the hotel and there were about 40 steps to walk up to get to it. There is no elevator, so it is a hike. The staff was very nice, and sent someone to help get the luggage to our room. These were the only down sides of the hotel. Mehr
"Hotel Nazionale - fabulous location!"
Brilliant hotel. Right near the train station on the main walkway. Can't complain about anything. Room was clean and more than enough space - bathroom was a wee bit small but served its purpose. Would definitely recommend to anyone going to Venice and would stay there again if we go back.
The Hotel Nazionale was very easy to find on the main street along from the station. The nearby food places were cheap and the icecreams delicious.

"Good European Hotel"
We gave this hotel a try even after reading some negative reviews, but deduced that those negative reviews must have come from people who are not familiar with European hotels. My husband & I were pleased with our stay here. The room was clean & comfortable, though smaller than Americans are used to. The bathroom was spotless, but had a small shower […] (2 feet x 2 feet), which is common in Europe. The breakfast was good...breads, meat & cheese, fruit, cereal, coffee & tea. The staff was pleasant as well. The best thing was the location, it was only a 2-3 minute walk from S.L. train station. (Exit the station & walk to the left down the main street.) We so much preferred having hotels near the train stations to avoid dragging our luggage onto boats or across canal bridges, plus it's perfect when you have early trains to catch. "Close to everything with a very plesant staff."
One block to the train, 1/2 block to the Vaparotto. The staff was lovely and the breakfast was very nice. I was traveling with my daughter not what I would have considered a romantic get away hotel. But perfect location and very comfortable. Easy to get anywhere and you do not want to stay all day in your room in Venice anyway.
"Not recommended"
The only positive thing that I can say about this hotel was its convenience to the train station. The rooms were extremely small and the bathrooms were even worse. Certainly not as pictured on hotels.com website. The hotel staff was not particularly congenial or helpful. Breakfast was ok, but if you happened to be eating at 10am, you were rudely told […] that they closed and 10am and you needed to leave. To use a hair dryer you were required to put down a 10 euro deposit even though they were advertised as being a part of the room. This hotel definitely left a bad taste for future visits. Mehr

We took the train into Venice and had large bags, unfortunately. From the train station to Hotel Nationale is about 500 yards on the left! It was great just to walk to our hotel and not have to wait in line for a vaporetto! The room was on the smaller size, but it was clean and the bathroom was great! It is a walk to St. Mark's Square, but it is was […] fun to just "get lost" in Venice! When we left we just walked past the train station and crossed the bridge to the bus terminal. It was about a 20 minute ride to the airport! I would recommend this hotel to anyone not wanting to take water taxis. Staff were very pleasant. No issues at all. Mehr
"Good location, that's all..."
Other than great location, nothing else will be recommended. A lot of mosquitoes in the room, even with windows closed. The bathroom smells very bad. Very outdated, needs renovation. The breakfast was so so, not too good compare to another hotel we stayed. Will only recommend for it's location.

The room is very small and shower facility is horrible. It was almost flood in the bath room after we took shower! The front desk is not that helpful.
"Hotel Nazionale - Venice. Excellent location."
Excellent location for a base in Venice. 10 minute walk from the bus stop with only 1 bridge to negotiate, and less than 5 minute walk from the train station. Rooms are small but very clean. Continental breakfast is where they fall down. Provide boiling water for tea, not warm water in a jug, and don't water down the fruit juice.

Only problem is air conditioning. Its an old old building. Very clean, curtious staff. Nice European breakfast. Location is exceptional.... However the bathroom is tiny and I mean tiny. Hard to take a shower. Very clean but room is very very small. I'm not there for the room so didn't matter. Just enjoy the location and go ..... water taxis right outside […] the door way. All restaurants expensive.... but lots of places to get a cheap sandwich and wine. Mehr

Stayed there mid-March so temperatures were very comfortable. overall, the hotel is ok, mainly because it is in a great location with proximity to the train station as well as within easy walking distance of all major venice attractions. however, the room left a lot to be desired. the size of the room was small, but that's normal and to be expected. […] however, the walls are covered in padded fabric which looks like it has not been cleaned in quite a few years which in turn influences your impression of the overall cleaniness of other things like the carpet, and especially the sheets. but overall, it's a bed in a great location, and for that it gets a 3 outta 5. "Easy to find hotel, same street as the termini"
Front Desk staff knew and spoke English to us. Check in was speedy and efficient. Bellhop lead us to our room and carried our suit case up the two steps (though no one was there to help us up the giant stairwell into the hotel lobby itself). Breakfast staff was nice as well. Housed in the sunniest room of the entire hotel, which made it nice. Simple […] breads/crossaints, cheese and ham slices, boiled eggs, small cereal selection, orange juice, milk, and coffee. If there was a lift, we did not see it. There is wi-fi available, but it's at 6 euros an hour and can only be used while sitting in the lobby, not in your room. Sign above entrance makes it easy to locate. Building itself is small and nestled between other buildings. It is walking distance to the bus stop to the mainland, the train station, and the water bus stops. Mehr
