Hotel Le Roberval - Montreal

Das Hotel Le Roberval hat uns für einige schlechte Hotels vorher entschädigt. Die Anreise zum Hotel ist, wenn man mit den Überlandbussen fährt super bequem. Nur 500 Meter vom Bus-Terminal entfernt. Aber auch die Metrolinie ist in nur 200m erreicht. In der Nähe ist sofort das Latin-Quartier, wo man super essen kann und auch zwei Supermärkte sind um die […] Ecke. Die Zimmer sind schön groß, sauber und hell. Super toll ist die im Zimmer eingerichtete Kochecke, zwar ohne Herd aber mit Mikrowelle, Geschirr, Kühlschrank und Waschbecken. Das Personal ist freundlich und hilft immer schnell und kompetent weiter. Das Frühstück ist gut und super organisiert, da dort immer zwei Angestellte für Nachschub und Sauberkeit sorgen. Der Kaffee wird frisch aufgebrüht. Nachteil auch hier, dass es wieder nur (wie in Kanada üblich) Süßspeisen und Kelloggs gibt. Jedoch hier wirklich gut und lecker. Das Hotel bietet auch Waschmöglichkeiten (Waschmaschinen/eine Wäsche 2 Dollar), jedoch nicht zuviel davon erhoffen. Die Katzenwäsche dauer nur 20 Minuten. Danach hat die Wäsche wenigstens einen anderen Geruch :). Kurz und knapp, wir würden das Hotel ganz klar weiterempfehlen. Für Kanadische Hotels in dem Preissegment ein echter Hammer und zum Wohlfühlen. Mehr

Nice to have a kitchenette! Walking distance to underground mall, St. Patrick's Basilica and restaurants. Very nice staff. Bathrrom may need some updating though...

Very nice cleanliness, comfort, location and breakfast. But parking is horrible, front desk staff is not active and the shampoo box is not easy to use.Anyway, our family is pleasure staying there for two nights.

Check-in not computerized, ie., had to fill-out personal details because it wasn't available through the net company that I booked with. Tile vs rugs in hall ways and half the rooms means very loud hallways and very dirty ones in winter. Wish there was sheer curtains on window as room was facing building across the street. Parking is half a block away […] and very challenging. I would consider parking in this garage quite a challenge with a van. Lighting in room very dim. Lighting combined with colour makes this a very sad place. These two factors would make a big difference to me if they were fixed. Over all we were pleased with the cleanliness of the room, and enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Good value for the money

After a difficult check in due to doors being locked it was fine.

The suites are very comfortable, the cleaning staff did not come to our room every day, and the parking was imposible!

I stayed at this hotel suite room for 10 days until I found a housing in Montreal. Hotel offers the continental breakfast from 7 to 10 which was good for me because I could be lazy and get up late. There were a variety of bread like croissants and bagles, white or brown bread, even muffins (blueberry, raisin, chocolate) to choose from, several types […] of tea, nicely brewed coffee and a selection of fruit juice, oatmeal and other cereals for kids, hot cocoa and several tastes of yogurt. The room had a little kitchen facility in it like stove-oven, refridgerator even a coffee maker and a toaster plus pantry and cuisinery so you can go grocery shopping at IGA or PHARMAPRIX and cook meals which was convenient. I think the TV was Samsung smart tv. It displayed the whole script of the broadcast in English and also in French which helped me a lot when listening to a French broadcast. Also the wi-fi was free in the room and so were the telephone calls. Except the fact there was a little staircase right at the entrance ( I had to drag my luggages up and down on the check-in and check out) and that the sofa in the room was a sofa-bed which could have been convenient for a big family but not comfortable enough when seated. The hotel is pretty good for the price,the bed and the sofa bed weren't very comfortable but the place was very clean,good choice for a family on a budget.Good location,very close to old town and lots of cafes and restaurants nearby.

Easy home base for sightseeing. Easy to access public transport. Was in Montreal for a conference, and the Palais convention center is about 15 minutes away by foot. Very clean and comfortable, surrounding neighborhood somewhat sketchy.

I had a wonderful time staying in this hotel for almost a week. The hotel is conveniently located for my purpose. The staff were all very friendly and spoke excellent French and English. I enjoyed the morning breakfast. Although it would have been good if they have fresh fruits.

The price was right, the place was perfectly nice, and I loved that the continental breakfast included Montreal bagels-- Yum! I have no complaints about this place. Location and service are great. There is no space to load or unload baggage. You can not stop your car in front of hotel. Beside there is public parking, but always cops will trouble you, especially if your license plate is from Ontario. The parking is in the basement of another hotel which is almost 250 meters away. To get into the parking you need […] to practice driving inside a CIRCULAR HOLE. Luckily my car escaped from scratches. Only one way to enter and exit, if another car come against you in half way, then cross your fingers. Hotel breakfast is not bad. No tea bags in room- only coffee powder. Also, there is no soap in washrooms. Two bottles of liquid soap, but found empty. Totally, you will feel like you are in an apartment. Wifi is strong. The location was great. We had a suite and I thought the layout was great, like a small apartment. The service was so-so. We asked for a microwave in our room at check-in, the man at the front desk said it would be right up but it never came. The kitchenette does have a full stove and refrigerator. My mom was annoyed that one of the burners didn't work, […] but only one out of three. The sofabed was a big problem; it folded out at a ridiculous slant, and was completely uncomfortable. I visit Montreal with my mother and young son every year and I think the sofabed might be the one thing that sends us looking for a different hotel next year. Parking was a pain. very convenient location, close to subway station. Staff are very friendly, I learned some French:) room are clean, has everything we want. only AC was broken one night and nobody was there to fix it. In all, very nice hotel and I recommend!

Close to all the restaurants, shops nightlife of downtown Montreal. it was clean, had a nice complimentary breakfast and the bed and room conditions were very adequate. The people spoke English well, so we had no problem with them meeting our needs and questions. Dont' bring a big SUV to their parking as it is low and underground. To be honest hotel was the only concern when we were traveling to Montreal for long weekend. I was afraid after reading couple of bad reviews that the neighbourhood is not that good. Loved this place. The suite had everything we needed.. a full fridge, and a kitchen with everything from glasses to salt and pepper. Living room area had a flat screen tv and a couch with a table and chairs. Everything was nice and clean! Will definitely be staying here next time we're in town. My wife and I stayed two nights and were completely satisfied. The staff was friendly. The kitchenettes with refrigerator is a bonus. Parking is close, easy and relatively inexpensive ($15.00 per night). The breakfast is nothing special (canned fruit, standard pasteries), but it is free and served untill 11:00. Very easy to get to driving up I-87 from the U.S. Walking distance to Downtown, Vieux Montreal and the restaurants and bars in the Plateau. And a block from a Metro hub for everything else. Traveling with a toddler, we like having two rooms and a kitchenette. This is hard to find on our budget. The Roberval met our needs for space, cost, comfort and location. Our room was perfect as the living room and bedroom were separated by a galley kitchen and bathroom. The tub drain was full of hair. Dining table was sticky and the corners under the cabinets were full of crumbs. Bed was surprisingly comfortable. Our room only had one bedside table/reading lamp. [and the bulb was out when we arrived] The breakfast was sufficient and met our needs. Bread, croissants, muffins, cereals/oatmeal. Canned fruit, yogurt, juice/milk and coffee. We like toast with peanut butter, croissants, yogurt so we were satisfied. Staff should have recommended the side entrance that had a ramp and a luggage cart. We discovered it the day before leaving. On our arrival date, we were parked by it unknowingly, carried 9 pieces of luggage around the corner and up two sets of stairs. Then transferred it all in shifts to elevator as we were told there was no trolley/cart. The issue there was English/French with the staffer on duty. Other staffers were proficient in English through our stay. The location was perfect for us as we wanted to explore Vieux Montreal, the Latin Quarter and visit the Biodome. While we are from NYC, we were struck by the number of homeless folks across the street and down the block on St. Denis towards the river. There is quite a bit of tourist traffic coming and going from Vieux Montreal so it's busy and safety probably isn't an issue. Unfortunately, I was followed while pushing my son in the stroller for a couple blocks by a man yelling obscenities at me. I caught up with my husband and went into a store. The hotel was clean and room was roomy and well appointed for the price and the windows open wide. The location is central but the neighbourhood is a little shady - there are homeless around and you will likely be hit up for change, but neither my wife nor I ever felt threatened or unsafe. Personally we were there in August and we had the air conditioner running and the window closed. Breakfast is nothing to get excited about - breads and fruit and yogourt. For the price though I wasn't unhappy. The staff was friendly but CLUELESS about the area. I had three questions during my stay and the desk had no answer for any of them and it was different people each time. The parking lot that they recommend at the desk was closed for construction which they didn't know about (clerk said that he'd never been there and it's literally around the corner) and then they could not direct me to any other lot (there are several within a couple of blocks including a couple visible from the hotel). They could not direct me to the nearest (or ANY) convenience type store (again, many in the area). Finally, they could not direct me to any bagel shop, anywhere in the city. Come on, it's Montreal! I was a little leary at first about staying in these apartment/suites. Once I got there, the staff was friendly, hospitible and very helpful and infomative in getting you around the city. The room was clean and it reminded me of home. You couldn't beat the free continental breakfast. The Hotel was in walking distance from the old part of town and the […] latin quater, which was GREAT. The location of the hotel is the only plus point. I was disappointed with the cleanliness and the general upkeep of the rooms. The AC was not working and so the room was stuffy and warm. It was my first time in Montreal with my fiance for a 2 night visit. We chose this hotel because of the location and good price and did not know what to expect when we got there. Here is my opinion of everything overall. From the outside and inside the hotel lobby, everything looks very crummy and low budget. But when I got to my room, I was surprised […] to notice that our room was very clean and proper. Even had a sink, toaster, microwave and fridge and flat screen TV. The downtown area surrounding the hotel is amazing. Tons of bars, cafes, restaurants, shops within walking distance, which was a huge bonus! Very busy area with lots of action and plenty of stuff to do. A couple of disadvantages of this hotel are the following: the walls are not very soundproof. At night when you are trying to sleep you can hear everything going on right outside your window, which will usually sound like drunk people yelling and partying and having a good time. Or if someone in the room next to you is watching T.V with loud volume at night, you will probably hear it. Also, when we stepped out of our hotel to explore the city, we came back at approx 4pm and the housekeepers still had not arrived to make our room. Apparently they show up at around 4:30-5pm which I think is a bit late. Also, do not expect much from their free breakfast in the morning. It only consists of toast, bagels, cream cheese, cereal and coffe or tea, etc.. You're not gonna get any eggs, bacon, potatoes (all the good stuff). Anyway, for the price that you're paying it's a pretty good deal for a downtown hotel, as long as you're expectations are not very high. For a group of 20-somethings coming to Montreal for a weekend, this location worked great. Walkable to the UQAM metro station and the old town, you could see all the sights quite easily. The place is very convenient : very close to Berri UQAM, the rooms which have a kitchen are real suites, wifi is free, breakfast is fine. Even is decoration is very basic, this make a very good value hotel in Montréal

we recieved a suit for 3 nights me and my husband and our 18 months baby the first day we arrived when we went to the room we found that its in the botom floor and the people can see us from out side even when we go to the washroom we have to close everything we could not be in privicy we tolk to the front disk and he said he can not change the room […] its the only one left and i knew that its not true and he was rude he could not help us ayt all the breakfast was ok anathor problem with the parking its in other building that this hotel plssss dont go thier thier is more nice hotel than this i did read alot of comments and i decide to cancel it but in the end i just whent but really we did a big mistake and if u expecting help from the front disk u will be dreaming take care and plz dont go their. The staff is awesome. They are most responsive to the customer needs and in my case, I had a medical emergency that needed prompt service and attention. The night clerk on duty took charge of the situation and did all thta was needed. Most important the staff have the HUMAN touch!!
