Zum Hotel Barbara lässt sich sagen, dass die Lage wunderbar ist. Zu Fuss ist man in 5 Minuten an den Ramblas und in der Nähe finden sich auf ein paar von Pakistani geführte kleine Supermärkte. Jedoch stehen in der Umgebung zum Hotel ein paar leicht bekleidete Damen, jedoch ist das für den Stadtteil in welchem das Hotel steht relativ normal. Das Hotel […] ist in einem relativ altem Zustand und für ein ein Sterne Hotel relativ ok. Die Zimmer sind sauber und bieten den Sauberkeitsstandard für ein Ein-Sterne-Hotel. Das Hotel ist vor allem für jugendliche Reisegruppen zu empfehlen, Paaren mit Kindern, bzw für Senioren würde ich von diesem Hotel abraten, da es nachts auch mal ein bisschen laut werden kann. Nachts war es etwas laut im Zimmer zur Sraße, allerdings nach hinten raus angenehm ruhig.

Die Ausstattung des Zimmers war miserabel (für die Kleider ein Wandkästchen 120 cm mal 80 cm, nur ein Nachtkästchen,kein Stöpsel für das Waschbecken usw.) Bis 4 Uhr früh lautes Gekreische der Prostituierten in der Nebengasse zum Hotel (fensterseitig)

das hotel barbara, in welchem wir vier nächste geschlafen haben liegt in unmittelbarer nähe von las ramblas und dem hafen. man erreicht zu fuss viele der wichtigsten sehenswürdigkeiten , den strand und viele nachtclubs. die zimmer sind sauber und die betten okay, fernseher funktionierte aber nicht und anstatt einem doppelbett bekamen wir drei einzelbetten... […] zudem ist das zimmer seeehr dunkel. die angestellten sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, worüber wir sehr dankbar waren. die ca.100m vom hotel zur las ramblas ist besonders nachts kein spatziergang. penner, prostituierte und betrunkene einheimische und touristen lungern in den gassen herum. doch diese sind meist friedlich und machen einem nichts. wir genossen den aufenthalt sehr und empfehlen das hotel vorallem für jugendliche mit kleinem budget weiter. den das htoel liegt mitten im nächstlichen geschehen, Mehr

Das Hotel hat eine sehr gute, zentrale Lage :) Die Zimmer sind ganz gut so wie der Service auch. NUR, ACHTUNG das Hotel liegt am STRAßENSTRICH!!!

Lage ist hervorragend nähe Ramblas (ca 400m), Zimmer ganz einfach und eher dunkel (unseres hatte 1 kleines Fenster zum Innenhof), TV (Empfangsbedienung gegen Depot am Empfang), Föhn gegen Depot erhältlich, keine Minibar, Dusche ein kleines Abenteuer (Duschkopf an Decke fixiert, also gilt "ganz oder gar nicht" ;-)) aber ganz ok und warmes Wasser :-), […] Betten waren sehr bequem, man konnte selber die Heizung regulieren. Alles in allem sehr einfach & nicht sehr sauber (für ein Wellness-oder-Liebes-Wochenende sicher nicht zu empfehlen ;-)) - für einen Citytrip bei welchem man lediglich zum (kurzen) Schlafen kommt, trotzdem ausreichend. When I travel all I really want is a clean room in a convenient location and the Hotel Barbara offered just that. Stayed there for 5 nights with my daughter and my brothet,returning to the hotel late every night and we did not have any problems at all. One review complained about Ladies of the Night in the area and they are there on the cross road by […] the hotel, but you don't have to walk down the street they are on to reach the hotel door. Off La Rambla turn on the street by the Liceau, the Opera house, and walk straight down to the hotel. Not much traffic on the street, and it looks kind of funky, but no one bothered us anywhere in Barcelona. I also noticed several single women vacationing at the hotel and they did not seem to feel unsafe either. Great location to the Gothic quarter, the harbour, Placa Catalunia and many other sites. Wifi is only available in the lobby and you purchase it by the hour. 3 Euros for 1hour or 6 Euros for 12 hours that you can use at anytime during your stay. I found out about that after I had already used up the first hour and needed more time :) Friendly staff at the hotel. Pick up a voucher for the Bus Touristic at the reception.Saves 1 Euro off the price. Mehr

A decent place to stay if you are just looking for a cheap bed under a roof for a night or two.

my wife and i were staying 3 nights. room was clean, but very basic. they didn't have extra plankets, because they were fully booked...but staff was friendly. yes, there are prostitutes next to the hotel, but that didn't bother us at all. if you stay there to visit the city, the hotel is cheap and 5 minutes to the city center. if you need luxury on […] a citytrip, don't go there. if you are a woman travelling alone, you should probably look for another area - though we didn't have any problems there. the area around is not a real red light district - there are some very nice restaurants and pubs close by. but they are more alternativ and not fancy (enough fancy restaurants in the old city center). we would go there again. So, what do you want a hotel for? If its a case of a roof over your head and a clean room in the centre of Barcelona. Then this is the one. After I had booked my room, it started to occur to me that the price was too cheap. Several of my friends teased me as to what I would find. What I did find was a small clean hotel, a clean room with en suite facilities […] and within 50 metres or so of La Rambla a bit down from La Boqueria. What more could you want? Well I know some people spend lots of time in hotel rooms doing all sorts but for me on a city break my room is for sleeping and showering only so was absolutely perfect for me. Now having praised the hotel (and I do genuinely recomend it on value) the one slight downside, there were a few working ladies right outside the hotel, and with each return to the hotel, they had to be dodged! location 5mins walk to La Rambla Excellent for short stays. you get what you pay for!! great value on price. felt safe always in and outside hotel, although prostitues are there from early hours, they do not cause any problems. would definately recommend this hotel

My girlfriend and I spent 3 nights here while in Barcelona. Barbara was perfect for us. Great location, comfortable, clean rooms with a safe, and of course very well priced. For those of you not caring about 5 star luxuries this is the spot. It's not that the Hotel is falling apart, not by any means. It's just a little old and dated.s The neighborhood […] is fun with lots going on. Yes there a few 'dodgy' characters hanging around the square out the front. Yes there are prostitutes and pimps right in the same block. We didn't have any problems with any of this. There was a large police presence in the area and every one understood their roles and didn't bother those that chose to keep to them selves. Any body who says this hotel is in a bad, dangerous neighborhood has obviously never left their suburban safety blanket and gotten out of their comfort zone. Also, every one of the front desk staff were very helpful as well as being fluent in English. Something you can't take for granted in Spain. Mehr

One of the things I wish I had read in a previous review was that the hotel isn't in a very nice neighborhood. When our taxi driver dropped us off he warned us to be careful and look out b/c it was a bad area. There were prostitutes everywhere. Hotel staff was nice. For a short stay and saving money this is the place. The room was clean and bathroom spacious. Shower was roomy! Quite a bit of outdoor noise, but that is the city. Very safe and secure to enter and exit hotel. Looking for a short walk from LaRamble and to the Metro...go for it. Bar across the street...kind of loud...

Unless you want to be placed literally on the worst street in Barcelona (prostitutes right outside the hotel at all times) and have terrible service (major conflict with the hotel was avoided but there were many things wrong--prices changing, no common decency or care for tenants' safety), then don't come here. The staff at this hotel was friendly and helpful but this is the only positive thing. The location is in a very bad neighborhood. Thugs and "ladies of the night" linger around this area at all times of the day. The rooms were ok the beds weren't very comfortable and the room was very plain. Worn linens, enamel orange walls, brown tile floors,noisy hallways and hotel surrounded by girls of the night. Interiors with little or no effort and small window. prison-like..... Still great location to Gran Via

The hotel staff was the best thing about this hotel. It was old and uncomfortable, in an average location.

If you are travelling on a tight budget, this is the place for you. The location was perfect, right off La Rambla, with easy access to the metro if you want to explore further. The staff was wonderful, always someone at the front desk willing to share information. The room attendant actually left her power card in the room so the room would be warm […] when we returned because she saw we had so many blankets! Great restaurants in close walking distance, try Pollo Rico (a suggestion by the front desk), and Can Culleretes (oldest restaurant in Barcelona) for great inexpensive food. Thankfully, I had read all the reviews before arriving, so I was somewhat prepared for all the downsides (prostitutes, small bare rooms). Had I not known what I was getting into, I probably would have been very disappointed/shocked. The room felt very much like a dorm room, 3 twin sized beds and a wardrobe (foam mattresses), a tiny TV up high on the wall with only one channel available (and it's in Spanish), and one small bedside table. That's it! So you definately only want the room to sleep/shower. The bathroom was very old/run down, but also very clean (the whole hotel was very old/run down, but very clean). As for the prostitutes, they are definately right outside and all around, but during our 7 nights we came and went at all hours of the day and night, and never once felt unsafe or even bothered by them. The hotel also keeps the front door locked, they buzz you in/out 24hrs, so you won't run into them inside. So, although the first impression at Hotel Barbara is terrible, it's actually a great place to stay for the budget concious traveller. My biggest complaint would be the lack of internet access in the room. Only internet access available is in the lobby and at a charge. Mehr

A hotel? Honestly, it was more like a run down hostel. Actually, hostels I've stayed in are better kept and decent than this. Our room was tiny and the bed uncomfortable, and you could hear everything people on the other side of the wall were saying...and smell what they were smoking. Absolutely filthy and rundown with hookers/hoodlums/criminals literally hanging out front. The five minute walk to La Rambla makes it a fairly good location but the locals will all tell you to be careful walking after dark.

great for travelers on a budget. we stayed there for 6 nights, paid a rather competitive tariff, no chance to find a hotel this close to the center at that price. the hotel was not fancy at all, but rather clean. i've stayed in more expensive hotels which weren't as clean as this one. regarding the location - it's very central and convenient, about […] 3 minute walk from the metro. on the downside - the hotel sits on a side street with prostitutes. we, however, did not feel uncomfortable walking there at night. Firstly, my credit was charged for the full amount even before I arrived. I booked for a double room for myself and my travel partner. We were given only one card-key for the room. This made it very difficult for us to organize our daily activities as we both had to arrange with each other when we were to meet back at the hotel etc. I enquired about […] the possibility of getting separate keys but was met with rudeness and disinterest. We also had to pay a deposit for the TV remote control. The TV did not work at most time. The air-condition unit was very noisy. The area is terrible and unsafe. The hotel cleaners attempted to clean the room and to change the linen. The linen was only changed once during the five days we stayed. I could go on and on. Basically, the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The staff made it even worst! I cannot understand why Hotel.com would even advertise this hotel. Mehr

I could complain about some things about this hotel. What everyone else wrote in the reviews about the street having a lot of "women of the night" is true, but even with a view facing the street they didn't keep us up at night. Nobody bothered us on our late returns to the hotel, and we never felt like we were in danger. The room was very small, hardly […] any space to move and the two twin beds were right together as if it were a double bed. The TV didn't work and when we asked about it, they promised a couple different times to come and fix it (it was very high up on the wall and we think it was just not plugged in, but couldn't get up that high), nobody came. The bathroom was clean but very small, has no shower curtain so the floor was soaked every time we took a shower - this was annoying and uncomfortable. The pros, however, outweigh all of these little things - the location is AMAZING. You are a 5 minute walk from the metro, a 5 minute walk from Rambla de Barcelona, a 5 minute walk from the port where there are always a lot of people and fun going on, lots of little shops and restaurants, and about a 20 minute walk from the beach! For this reason, I would stay there every time I go to Barcelona. The front desk people are especially helpful and sweet, and the hotel is secure so you don't have to worry about anything. Plus, keep the price in mind - for how cheap this place is to stay in the absolute middle of all the fun of Barcelona, it's an amazing deal. Mehr

We stayed here for 2 days and it was a clean, very cheap, super good location hotel. The staff was ok, and the neighborhood was totally fine. The room was very basic but clean. This would suit someone who just needs a room to stay in. The very small room just consisted of a bed, cupboard and bathroom, nothing else. The location is right next to the Red Light district but I had no problems at all. The location is amazing. 600 metres from La Rambla and a 10 minute walk to the beach.

This place is the worst place I have even seen in my life. Next time I prefer to sleep on the pavement, rather than going to this hell. Please take this place out of your list.

This hotel is located on the street with all of the prostitutes. On our cab ride to the hotel, our drivers told us that it is not a good area and not to be out at night. He also pointed out the police station, just in case anything happens. That said, the hotel had all that you would expect and is quite close to the Ramblas. Nous n'avons pas pu dormir plus de 2 heures d'affilées tant les habitants et les prostituées de la rue hurlaient tous les soirs. L'hôtel est très bien situé (métro à proximité, 200 m des ramblas et de la vieille ville). C'est idéal pour une escapade à Barcelone car le tarif est tout à fait correct. Peut-être à éviter pour une famille (prostituées dans la rue) mais parfait pour des personnes comptant arpenter Barcelone et ayant besoin d'un point de chute. For meget larm fra gaden og fra ventilationen på værelset. Skodder der kun kunne åbnes halvt pga. altan og kun et halvt gardin. En lænestol på værelset ville absolut være et plus.

Meget larm fra gaden. Svært at sove. Beliggende i kedeligt beskidt kvarter. Venlig betjening og rent værelse. Værelset var snævert og simpelt indrettet.

Mon mari et moi avons du dormir a l hôtel Barbara suite au grève de Orly. Nous avons mis plus d une heure pour trouve l hôtel en pleine nuit l endroit et vraiment très mal indique et le quartier pas très rassurant entre Bagdad et Beyrouth ! Et ce n est pas qu une façon de parle puisque l hôtel et juste en face d un magasin Style sex shop Dont le nom […] et justement Bagdad ..! Enfin le personnel étais très gentil mais que ce n est pas suffisent pour faire oublie cette chambre des plus lamentable des couleur vieilli une litterie dure et alors la salle de bain .. Il serai plus approprie d utilisiez le mot bidet pour cite la beignoir/douche ! On ne pouvais même pas tendre nos jambes et même si nous voulion prendre une vrai douche ce n étais pas possible car la pomme de douche est inexistante un petit carre en plastique colle au plafond et laissant sotir un filet d eau en fais office ! Enfin bref je ne parlerai pas de la taille de la chambre si jamais vous voulez un grand lit sachez qu il n y a même pas de place pour y installer des tables de chevets .. Je vous laisse imaginez..;) Il est vraie que c étais un hôtel pour dépannez pour ne pas passer la nuit a l aéroport mais j'en garde tout de même un mauvais souvenir , je ne conseil donc évidemment pas cette hôtel . Greit nok Hotell sentralt i Barcelona. En del "løse fugler" i strøket.

Chambre soi-disant en "promo", à un prix déjà bien trop élevé à mon goût au vu des prestations offertes: literie moyenne, couvertures ultra fines, climatisation bruyante, fenêtre donnant sur un minuscule puits de lumière, déco sommaire et pas même une chaise pour poser ses affaires... Avec en plus du bruit dans le couloir une partie de la nuit! Ne parlons […] pas de l'accueil: une jeune femme tout à fait bornée et désagréable, qui devrait sans doute songer à faire un autre métier! Heureusement, les deux autres personnes qui lui ont succédé étaient "normales": correctes et souriantes... Bref, je ne recommande pas cet hôtel! Dommage, car il est fort bien situé!! Mehr

Gledelig overraskelse, vennligt personell samt rent og pent.Selvom bygningen var gammel.. Området er meget sentralt og interesant. Endel "løse- fuler" men de var ikke til noen sjenanse for oss. Det var mye politi i området så vi følte oss trygg hele tiden. Hotellet kan absolutt anbefales.

Мы остановились в этом отельчике постольку, поскольку находиться в нем планировали только ночью. Отель очень удобно расположен - 5 минут пешком до Рамблы, 5 минут до порта. Персонал приветливый, отлично говорят по-английски, одна девушка с рецепции говорит по-русски. В номере были только ночью, никаких проституток рядом с отелем не видели, да и шума […] никакого абсолютно с улицы не было. Вобщем, если вас интересует бюджетный отель с удобным расположением - это то, что надо. В номере чисто, постельное белье свежее, полотенца белоснежные, и, как полагается, по 3 на человека. De receptionisten waren onvriendelijk! de GAST heeft richtlijnen nodig bij het in-cheken! Ontbijt? toiletten? de buurt? veiligheid??--> aangezien het een niet zo leuke buurt is.. Gasten willen weten of ze daar veilig zijn. Als een GAST een vraag heeft moet de receptionist vriendelijk antwoorden! Housekeeping personeel was vriendelijker dan de mensen […] achter de balie... Het hotel ligt pal in het centrum, enorm vriendelijke service. En er was helemaal niets te merken van een slechte buurt. Een enorme aanrader voor wie een kort, spotgoedkoop verblijf wenst in het hartje van Bacelona!

Close to Las Ramblas - which was nice, but I would never recommend anybody to walk alone from Las Ramblas to the hotel...The street and the square where the Hotel is situated is filled with prostitutes and the male population did not seem very friendly at all...not at all. Absolutely no possibility of parking, so remember to add 20 euro a day on the […] hotel price if you are in car. There is a big parking facility 500 m. away from the hotel. Mehr

la tele no funcionaba. colchón de espuma. pequeño, cutre, la calle llena de mujeres de vida alegre gritando toda la noche, a veces no sabías si estaban en el baño de la habitación o en la calle.

Hôtel bien situé mais beaucoup de peripapeticienne en bas de l'hôtel c'est le seul point qui ma déranger surtout si vous conter vous y rendre en famille
