The Brehon - Killarney

The Brehon was by far the nicest hotel I've stayed in, from the quality of there rooms and food right down to there polite friendly staff if you need a relaxing luxurious getaway this is the place to go!

Hubby and I treated ourselves to one night here over Easter weekend and liked it so much we decided to have another night... Room was simply lovely, very clean and comfortable, everything you would expect from 4*......... only had bar snacks and breakfast which was definitely very nice........... Would definitely recommend The Brehon to anyone staying […] in the Killarney area.... about a ten minute walk up to the town centre to plenty of pubs and shops. The Ring of Kerry bus tour was a definite plus for our break........... sit back and relax while the driver took the strain of the wee bendy roads Mehr

had a wonderful stay in the Brehon. rooms were lovely and bar food was excellent. It is a taxi ride from Killarney town - but the taxi drivers all seem very friendly! Great hotel - definitely would recommend to anyone. Will be calling back for another visit very soon for some more spa treatments

Excellant hotel and service.

This is my first 'review' of any form on hotels holidays etc. I stayed at the brehon from 24/02/2012 to 26/02/2012 and have nothing but great things to say about the hotel. The room 4*8 i think, was great and had very nice views of the nearby mountains. I thought the hotel was very nice and accommodating particularly in light of my early arrival and […] late departure. Highly recommended and I intend to stay there again during my next visit to Kerry. Only minor quibble is that it is not too near essential amenities eg shops but I suppose that's what taxis are there for. That is my only gripe. Mehr

Lovely hotel, great location and gorgeous food. Only complaint was air con seemed to blow hot air no matter what you set it at so room was quite warm.

Excellent hotel, extremely friendly helpful and courteous staff. Had a very enjoyable stay.

My wife and i are in our 30's and we stayed in the Brehon on Sunday 29th January. We could not fault the hotel or the staff. The leisure centre/spa was well equipment and spotless clean. The food in the bar was excelent and the location is perfect for walking in the national park.

Checked in to room which had obviously not been cleaned. When I complained following my 2pm check in, was told its normally 3.30 on new years day! Nonsense. Was given free coffee to compensate for delay though while our room was being cleaned. "straight away" turned out to be 45 mins later. My friends has to wait 90 mins! I felt room itself was nice […] enough with lovely bathroom with underfloor heated tiles! Although the bedroom is painted a colour that scuffs and gets damaged easily as I saw dirt and potmarks quite a bit. Bed pillows are uncormfortable and I would normally sleep on anything! Restaurant food is superb, as was bar food! Bar had a special running of Budvar from Czechoslovakia which went down well. Checkout was chaotic with no sense of the desk team being properly managed. Chap that attended to me tried to charge me for the room even though already paid for via hotels.com. In short at the kinds of prices this place charges I expect better from a well known brand. Had an excellent stay. Ended up in a suite, dunno how that happened!! You have to try the spa if you are staying in the hotel, it is AMAZING! So good we went back the next day for another treatment! Had dinner in the bar and it was lovely and not overall expensive, also had breakfast the next morning which was very good! Overall we had an excellent […] stay!!! Mehr

The Brehon is a great place to stay while visiting Killarney. When we arrived, it was pouring down rain so the front desk suggested we take care of the complimentary spa area downstairs. While it was cold, windy and rainy outside, we played in the pool, hot tub and sauna. It was a nice way to relax and unwind while the weather cleared. The room quality […] is excellent -- beautiful rooms that are well maintained. The staff gave great suggestions for local sights and were extremely friendly. I'd definitely recommend and will definitely stay again when I come through Killarney again! Mehr

Do not miss the spa at this property. We decided in less sightseeing and used the morning to relax and get treatments. It was well worth it. Even if you don't get treatment use the the Vitality room. Also great restaurant.

Lovely location, lovely staff, lovely food, lovely lounge with great bar atmosphere--happiness is a break in the Brehon!

Probably one of the best hotels I have stayed. Coffee & tea on arrival in a beautiful, modern lobby, spacious room with national park view, very good breakfast (cold and hot - can have full Irish breakfast!), about 10 min walk to town, killarney national park cross the road, massage very good value for money, swimming pool & sauna great - couldn't fault […] a thing! We had the most relaxing break in a long time, we had a treatment each in the Spa and both of us floated out of the spa. the hotel and food is top class. We will be staying there agin for sure.

Nice hotel located about 1 mile from the centre of Killarney. (20 min walk). Reception area and rooms were really nice and the housekeeping was excellent. We ate in the bar twice and both times we were really disappointed: good service but the food was not up to scratch for a 4 star hotel (even for bar food it was VERY disappointing.) The Angsana spa […] is out of this world - I would most def return to this hotel to go to the spa and the location is convenient enough but I would go into the town to eat. Overall a very pleasant stay at The Brehon. Mehr

Nice hotel and amazing restaurant - our meal was the stand-out for me; fabulous food. Not cheap but worth it. Reception area very impressive & nice bar. Staff very accomodating and friendly. One let down - our room was quite boring and beige - very 'meh' - something you'd see in a good 3 star as opposed to a good 4 star which otherwise this hotel is. […] However, it was a good size & very clean. Totally enjoyable experience. Food of exceptional standard. Staff efficient and friendly. Hotel spa was amazing. Bedroom comfortable, clean and spacious. Will definately be visiting there again.

Hotel was lovely,room very comfortable. However,Bar closed at 12am on the sunday night and we were promptly moved out to the lobby to finish our drinks.

This is a beautiful hotel in an even more beautiful area. I would love to stay here again when we go back to Killarney. Just a short walk from the main city center but it's also a very beautiful walk.

A trip to Kerry for a book interview on Kerry Radio found us requiring an overnight stay. We had attended a wedding at The Brehon a few years ago and came away with such pleasant memories that we felt we would like to return. Our trip to Kerry Radio presented us with the opportunity . I booked the Brehon Hotel for an overnight stay for my partner & I and my parents, based on the excellant reviews i had read about this hotel. You just know you are in for a treat from the minute you walk into its fabulous foyer!! Vast,light, modern & extremely welcoming. Our double deluxe rooms were very spacious, with HUGE bathrooms, again, very modern […] & spoltess. nice little touches like, bottles of water in the room, robe & slippers & ironing facilities which seem to have been removed from a lot of hotels these days. We ate from the Bar menu in the evening, which was very nice & very reasonably priced. Breakfast the next day consisted of a continental buffet & a hot buffet ,with EVERYTHING on it!! the table service was prompt & efficient & very friendly. I cant wait to return to this hotel next year & would highly recommend it. It is also only a ten minute walk into the town centre. Lovely Hotel, lovely staff. Mehr

We arrived early at the hotel at 1.30. As our room was ready we were allowed to check in which was great. The room was so comfortable and big,the water on the bedside lockers was a welcome touch. There was also a list of activities for Killarney for the week which is great if you're wondering what to do. The shower was very powerful, the bath was spotless […] and the addition of a bottle of bath salts with the toiletries meant i couldn't resist!! We ate in the bar later that evening and the food and service was fantastic. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely the following morning with a great variety. We also went to the spa which was lovely and relaxing,again everyone was very friendly.When we were checking out I asked for directions to local areas of interest, the receptionist was extremely helpful. Nice hotel with very comfortable rooms. Service was excellent from entire staff. Would have been nice though to have in- room coffee / tea making facilities.

Myself and my son enjoyed our stay in the Brehon. 2 nights and two fantastic breakfasts. We ate in the bar and thought the food was excellent. The staff, at every turn, were attentitive to all our needs. Nothing was too much trouble, even with a 9 year old son. (They can be quite demanding) The only downside was that my young fella never got to see […] and enjoy the spa and pool. Over 16s only. That must be a blessing if travelling without kids though. wonderfully located for touring the Ring of Kerry. Great location and value for the money.

The Brehon is a lovely and comfortable place to stay whilst in Killarney. It is across the parking lot from the INEC, thus very convenient for a show, and much nicer than the Gleneagle which is connected to the INEC. Breakfast was good, and service in the lounge was great. The staff went out of their way to accomodate and were exceptionally friendly. […] This is a good hotel if you need parking, and is close enough to visit city shops with a long walk. The Brehon is a beautiful hotel in a fabulous location. The staff very attentive and the spa is an experience not to be missed.

The Brehon is located within walking distance of Killarney town .The staff are friendly and hepful.The rooms are very modern and very clean. Overall it was a lovely hotel and we had a very enjoyable stay.

Hotel très agréable, avec un superbe spa. Centre ville accessible à pied en 15-20 min. Personnel très agréable. A recommander!
