IT WAS OK THE ROOM AND TIME WE WAS THERE WAS QUIT AND EASY BREAKFAST TO DINNER OR ROOM. NICE BREAKFAST. THANK YOU THE LADY AT THE FRONT DEST WAS VERY NICE AND TOLD HOW TO GET TO ROOM AND THANK US FOR STAY !

They couldn't find our reservation for about 10 mins. Staff not too welcoming, rooms weren't very inviting. We reserved a king, but got two double beds.The pool was nice.

Hotel needs some work but it was okay..

The lady at the morning continental breakfast was friendly. She was respectful to a lady who went bare foot to the buffet about putting on her shoes. However, I had to go ask for towels because they forgot to put them in my room.

If you are going to the casino this is the place to stay....free shuttle service....this is an older hotel but it is extremely clean....good value....

hotel is good, room is clean with big bed, but's it's too far away downtown, but close to Horseshoe Casino. if you have car it will be fine for everything.

The sink facuet in our room was not properly secured to the countertop. Also it would be nice to have some bigger bath towels because the ones we were given were very thin and small. other than that, great breakfast and pool.

We've been here before but this was the first time with the new name on the hotel. In order for the heater to work effectively, we had to stuff the drapes into the window ledge because otherwise, the heat blew right up the drapes. Also, the unit turns completely off and starts up again and that woke me up the first night each time. So, the second night, […] we heated the room and then turned the unit off and I slept much better. The breakfast is excellent, with sausage links and hash browns added since the last time we stayed. I wish we'd had time to use the pool, but that didn't happen this time. Mehr

i was there for 10 days and had a really good experience, room was very clean, the breakfast was great and the shuttle service to the casino was a great bonus. will definitely go back

we only needed a hotel for a few hours, so this was ok for that. I would not recommend this hotel for a long stay of any kind.

Terrible Neighborhood. These pictures must be from a different hotel. Mold on the walls. Tarps hanging over the front of the building. Slept in all of my clothes in fear of touching the sheets. Holes in the walls.

Very nice, comfortable, QUIET,reasonable Motel. I would recommend it to a friend. The only thing I saw was the carpet and wallpaper was outdated, but hey, we are in a Recession. We really enjoyed our stay, completly satisified.

It's not Trump Plaza but it's a good value. Very convenient to Downtown Chicago and the highways.

I stay here frequently when I visit relatives in the area. The area surrounding the hotel is rundown industrial so not very appealing. The breakfast in the morning was great. The gal who takes care of that does an EXCELLENT job. I like the bed pillows too.

Pretty scary area. Would not have stayed there if I knew about the area. Strip club up the street...getting raided, and hookers in the parking area. Bad hotel for single women to stay at.

The hotel is rather shabby; wallpaper coming loose, poor/sloppy job of wall paint. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Parking was limited, mostly around back, isolated and kind of spooky.

nice free breakfast and shuttle drove me to casino just to pick-up a key.

Everything was as expected. While it was very hot and humid outside, the hotel was pleasantly cool and fresh smelling. (I appreciate this because with hot humid weather the hallways can sometimes smell musty) The ice machine on my floor was out of order, but only needed to go down one flight to get to an operational machine. The breakfast was better […] than expected. Advertised to open at 6:00 am, I found it to be up and running at 5:45 am. It was clean and well attended to by staff. Both USA Today and the local NW Indiana newspapers were offered complimentary. Conveniently located just off the Indiana Tollway and only a couple of blocks from Chicago proper. Am not a gamer, but offers a good location for someone going to the area casinos. Definately a good alternative to the much pricier hotels in Chicago. Mehr

I must say that I did receive an early check in which I didn't request, but I had stopped there on my way to another destination just to see if a room was available. One was, but there was a problem with the room itself...the air conditioning in the room did not work and it was 90+ degrees outside. When I returned to the hotel for the night, I asked […] if I could change rooms and it was great that the room across the hall was available, and the air conditioning was working there. The next disappointment was that the swimming pool was experiencing problems, which in my mind should have been remedied earlier in the day. Evidently there had been a party there in the morning and somehow the ph balance in the pool was affected, the filters were not working and the heat was not working either. The staff who were working on it did get the ph balance corrected but the water was just too cold to swim in. I was also glad my room was on the 4th floor because there was an extremely loud party going on in the banquet room and if I'd have been in a room on the first floor, I'd have either heard it or felt the vibrations from the music that was being played. The breakfast the next morning was very good again. The gal who oversees it does a great job. Mehr

i would have given the hotel a much better rating but i had one major problem with the place. i looked everywhere to find a hotel with an indoor pool and that is the main reason i picked the quality inn. everything was fine until i got to the pool and it was freezing cold. it was so cold that i couldn't even swim in it and it was the main reason i was […] there. couldn't get an explination of any kind as to what the problem was so i can tell you i won't be staying there again. This hotel was horrible. The bed was extremely hard, the water pressure didnt work when I wanted to take a shower. The man at the check out desk was extremely rude. I wont be returning to this hotel.

We stayed here to attend a concert at The Venue at Horseshoe Casino. I wasn't that impressed by the town, but the hotel was nice, and clean. Staff was friendly. The breakfast was good. Close to downtown Hammond. The only thing I experienced that others may complain about was that we were on the first floor, and apparently there is a club/restaraunt […] or such down the hall. After the concert a lot of women decided to have live it up there at the hotel, which was a little loud. Mehr

I've stayed here before because I can get a free night through holels.com and it is the closest hotel when visiting my son and his family. I noticed that sausages and potatoes had been added to the breakfast which is good if you like those items...I don't, but still is a nice gesture for the guests. The donuts NEEDED to be dunked in coffee to make them […] edible-they were very dry. The staff was kind and put me on the fourth floor away from whatever party was going on which was quite loud. I am always glad to get a newspaper at the front desk too. I wish that the heating/cooling units would run a constant fan and not turn completely off and then turn completely on when they heating/cooling cycle happens. I never can sleep well due to that. The hotel is in need of at least a cosmetic upgrade of some kind or other...the whole place just looks "tired". But, it's the one I will choose until the ones farther down the street are available on hotels.com at the same price or less. If I need pool access, though, it will be this hotel because it has an indoor pool and the grandkids like the water. Mehr

Those who are used to the Quality Inn's high level of excellance should beware. Although it carries the same name, this hotel is not quite the same. Our door worked backwards and we weren't ifnormed. When we got into the room finally, we found that half of the lights did not work and the air conditioner would only work on the fan only setting. This hotel had that smell of a detergent right in the corridors when you enter the hotel, It was there all throughout other corridors. The Doors looked very hold. The food was very ok. I liked the room which had a good bed and it was neat.

I called 2 days prior to showing up to let them know I was going to be early, there was a female who said it shouldn't be a problem but I should call the day I was going to show up. I drove 19 hours on a school bus with a bunch of teenagers, during the drive I called around 5 am the day I was going to show up to let them know I was going to be early, […] a male answered & said my rooms would be readyby 11 am, I ended showing up there around 9:30 am. I wanted to see when my room would be ready and the female @ the desk said to check back between 10-10:30, so I came back around 10:30, she then said to come back in 45 minutes so I came back around 11:15, she then said to come back another 45 minutes, so I came back around 12 pm, she then said to come back in 1 hour, so I came back around 1 pm, she then said another 45 minutes, I ended coming back around 2 pm at which point other people were checking in, i did not end up getting my room till 2:30, but thats not all!! I ordered 2 non smoking rooms thru hotel.com & she gave me 2 smoking rooms, I was so exausted @ that time I didn't argue. When I came to my room & my wife to the other room both room had the worst smell, it was disgusting!! I spent a whole can of febreeze on both rooms and it still did not seem to work! The lamp @ my desk did not work & my wife, after we had been there 1 day, found a pizza bax under her bed!!!! It was definitely the worst stay ever!! I travel up there @ least 1x a year with about 20-30 people, I will never go back there. Mehr

The first room we were given was on the first floor. We had to walk past two rooms that were totally trashed as if a fight had taken place. Upon entering the rooom, the lights immediately blew and the toilet was constantly making a noise. We reported it and took another room on the 4th floor. The ceiling was falling off in the hallway, two scary men […] were checking in next door and were cussing loudly. We went to dinner, found another hotel, and checked out immediately upon returning. Scary guys were hanging out in the parking lot gathered around a noisy car. We were two women and this was NOT a safe place. Mehr

Overall it was a great value for the money. Our room was air conditioned fine! Thank heavens because it was HOT! The bed was excellent and the pillows were awesome. Room was clean and the staff were very nice and helpful.A little rundown in general but I expected that from reading other reviews. A lightbulb was missing and also the phone cord but were […] replaced immediately. We were given plenty of extra towels for the pool and it was nicely heated and clean. Also a roll away bed was provided at no extra charge when my son decided to come along. I would stay again. Mehr

Everything about the hotel was good Except for the fact there was a party every night in the banquet room with a DJ blasting music until 11:00 or 12:00. Their solution to that was to ask us if wanted to move to another room down the hall after we had been settled in for 2 nights. That was unacceptable. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.
