The Meritage Resort and Spa - Napa

Leider waren im August neben und sogar im Hotel (eine Bar wurde gezimmert) Bauarbeiten. Neben dem Hotel wird ein Neuer Komplex gebaut. Es dürfte auch noch einige Zeit dauern, bis dieser fertig ist. Wir wurden aber in der abgewandten Seite untergebracht. Die Zimmer und das ganze Hotel sind sehr edel. Das Restaurant Siena ist sehr zu empfehlen. Tolles […] Essen und ein gutes Preis-Leistungverhältnis. Die Nähe zu Napa und den anderen Weingütern hat uns gut gefallen. Der Pool ist sehr schön angelegt und man hat den direkten Blick auf die Weinberge. Mehr

This was my third time to stay at this hotel and was disappointed that I didn't get a room with the balcony over looking the pool and vineyard. I personnally called twice to make sure I would get a nice room and was told that they would make note of it. When we got there it was not at all like the rooms I had stayed in before. I was very disappointed. […] The hotel did not have very many guests so I'm confused as to why they didn't give me the room I asked for. Mehr

My husband and I really enjoyed the service. The concierge were very helpful in guiding us to local restaurants and wineries. They provided us with coupons and maps. The food at the hotel was delicious and reasonably priced. We will definitely make this hotel our starting point for future Napa visits. Thank you!!!!

The Meritage Napa Valley offers a convenient and uncongested location to Napa Valley. 20 minutes away from all main attractions and restaurants. Top hotel for reasonable price.

We stayed at the Meritage Presidents Day weekend for 1 night. The staff was great. The grounds were amazing. It was in a weird location off the highway and next to an office park, but while you're at the hotel, you don't notice. There's a great vineyard on the property you can walk around. Pros: Friendly staff, lots of extras like a bottle of wine […] in the room and free brewed coffee in lobby, vineyards, firepit, pool. Cons: Part is under construction. Our view was of the construction. We were only there one night, so weren't too worried about it. Mehr

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon, it was our first time at this hotel. Very nice staff, young and hip. Had only one problem with housekeeping not cleaning room until after 5pm. All others days room was cleaned before noon. Free hotel shuttle to downtown for shopping and restaurants. Will stay again.

We will definitely return to Meritage Resort. It was a great experience, even despite the construction going on in the front entrance. Beautiful facility and great location!

Fantastic stay in the heart of napa. Thoroughly enjoyed the couple's massage, with the use of the steam room and spa afterwards.

We stayed here during the New Year Holiday and this hotel is great. It was last minute when my wife and I decided to go to Napa and lucky for us they had room available and it was one of the few hotels that took large dogs. The check in process was great and they even upgraded our room to a massive suite. Because this hotel also has a somewhat time […] share part of it, they do try to get you to attend their 90 minute seminar but you can always decline. The area is not great ether as you have to drive at least 5 miles to really get anywhere. But the price was great. The hotel was nice, clean and didn't look like a time share or a motel. In fact, it was very cozy and we'll be back again next year for sure. Mehr

It was located in an industrial center and seemed more like a Holiday Inn! I guess they figure you are in Napa and will be drunk when arrive and won't notice how 2 star the place is? I was not impressed at all.

This is a good choice for a Napa getaway, although at some distance from downtown Napa and the other towns. The setting is beautiful and comfortable. The spa facilities and restaurant are excellent. This is our second time here and we will definitely return.

Overall, very nice hotel - check out the Trinitas Cave, clean and close to downtown Napa. Beware of the concierge they will push for you to go and listen to their time share (waste of time and money).

First, they didn't have the correct room and no rollaway so we had to have someone sleep on the floor. They didn't offer me anything except extra blankets. The concierge was the only thing that made up for the horrible checkin experience. The location was ideal but they do have a free shuttle which was nice. I had never travelled to Napa Valley before and booked this hotel thinking it would exceed my expectations and thus didn't mind the room charge. The hotel itself was pretty and mostly clean but the staff was subpar for resort quality. Slow service at restaurant, food mediocre, front desk help borderline clueless, etc. Location was very much out of the […] way from most vineyards and not even close to Napa downtown (misleading from website). Booked a great deal at hotels.com (50% off) mid week at the Meritage. When we checked in, our registration attendant upgraded our room without us asking so our first impression of the resort was FANTASTIC! The room was nice but for the price, should have been nicer IMO. They did give us a free bottle of wine but no coffee the first night. We booked […] the couples massage/facial package at the spa and it was beyond excellent! Add a sauna, jacuzzi, champagne and cheese and that was about the best afternoon my wife and I have ever had. The Spa crew was top class too! Free wine tasting was also part of the stay and we enjoyed their vintage and yummies. The location seems weird at first (business park) but it's actually a good location for exiting napa quickly while Yountville/Rutherford are within easy striking distance. This is a beautiful hotel. The vineyards are a wonderful backdrop. The spa is AMAZING. The staff are helpful and friendly. Location is convenient to local attractions. The pool is nice and clean. The ambiance Is classy and cozy. Consierge staff are friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Perfect location to spend a long w-e and relax at the spa or by the swimming pool, and then go around Napa Valley for wine tasting. We only had a misunderstanding with the bar tender at the swimming pool, but it has been quickly resolved. I will recommend this hotel.

They are adding condos to the complex. They were really pushing attending a presentation to sell them. It made us really uncomfortable, and avoided those who were doing the hard sell. It was supposed to be a vacation, not intimidation.

My friend and I enjoyed the clean comfortable room and the nice gesture of a free bottle of wine and a box of chocolate in our room. Our names were mixed up with another couple but that was a minor issue. You would not be disappointed with the amenities or the quality of service from the staff. However, this is Napa valley and for me this hotel had […] too much of a bland corporate feel to it for such an astonishing place to visit. It's also one of the Southernmost located hotels in the area so driving to more exciting wineries in Calistoga or St. Helena is at least a 20-minute ride. The main "Italian" restaurant had terrible service and subpar food for breakfast. Downtown Napa (closest place to Meritage for dining) was quite dreary with only two good eateries around. While very good in what it does, my next stay will be in a B&B in Yountville, St. Helena, or even further north, however this has nothing to do with the hotel itself (except for the restaurant). I never been to Napa and it was a nice hotel, I didn't realize that Napa is the furthest point south of the wine valley but it's closest to the main town. This hotel is quite nice but more of a McMansion. I live in New York; so if it's 6 hrs to france or 6 hours to SFO plus the commute to a winery, I rather go to France. Napa was like a huge wine store […] and there is no real wine culture--lots of nice shops and very comfortable. It's definatly a better bargin than goign to Europe for wine and the quality of the hotel is much much better than in Europe . . . Mehr

My daughter and I stayed at the Meritage in Napa because we were finalizing some of her wedding plans. We had a wonderful time. The hotel was beautiful and very clean - our room was well appointed. The downside is it is remotely located with regards to downtown Napa. However, we learned that they provide free shuttle service in the evening to downtown […] Napa so you can enjoy restaurants, etc. Which is exactly what we did. We cancelled reservations at a restaurant in Yountville so we could enjoy wine with our dinner and didn't have to worry about a designated driver. We also enjoyed a wonderful spa experience at the Spa Terra - excellent service and treatment. The spa is absolutely beautiful and serene! An added bonus was tasting at Trinitas Tasting Room. We loved their reds! My daughter joined their Wine Club so she can go back with her fiance and receive discounts on the wine, their stay at the hotel, and spa treatments. Highly recommend this hotel. I would recommend Meritage with a few caveats. Don't expect a luxury hotel, it's more like a glorified motel. But my favorite places to stay in Napa/Sonoma are seriously expensive and Meritage was a decent mid-range alternative for our five night stay. If you look at it aside from its industrial complex location it's kind of nice. My husband and I wandered […] the vineyards each morning of our five night stay before taking off for wine touring. The on-site spa looked very inviting, and there is a tasting room in the cave also, for wines the resort is promoting.The pool was quite refreshing. (It was hot during our stay!) I wish it stayed open until 11:00 p.m. though, so we could have used it after returning from dinner. There is no AC vent in the bathroom so it can get too warm, especially after using the shower and hair dryer. And I haven't seen one of these in a while (the "80's?) - a phone next to the toilet - who would use that?! I never even saw the hotel's restaurant so I cannot comment on that - there are far too many fabulous places to eat in wine country that we wanted to return to. Be aware: none of these restaurants or wineries are close to Meritage. Be prepared to be on the road quite a bit if you want to stay here and really experience Napa and Sonoma. It was even a bit of a distance to reach the Napa Whole Foods to stock up on water and snacks. (WF is also a great place to get a quick sandwich or salad for a picnic. Next to WF is a Target, in case you run out of sunscreen.) A few other things: the elevator beeps loudly so try to avoid a room next to it. You also might want to avoid a room near the on-going construction of additional wings and/or time-share units. BTW, we did not appreciate the attitude of the sales associate at the concierge desk who tried to convince us to attend the time share presentation with an offer of free nights he thought we couldn't refuse: "Free things go fast you know, so don't lose out." The hotel was convenient, quiet, and clean. The pool was great, salt-water-which I prefer. The staff was attentive and accomodating. We enjoyed our stay.

Very well run, beautiful surrounding. Very relaxing. Good complimentary wine and bottled water are apprecaited amentities.

Despite minor glitches concerning a lack of hand towels and paper coffee cups, our stay at The Meritage was very nice. The rooms are nicely appointed -- dual sinks, small dry bar with refrigerator, private water closet, comfortable bed -- and fairly quiet. The hotel is at the southern end of the Napa wine region, making it something of a hike to reach […] most wineries. However, it is located close to the major roads -- Silverado Trail and Route 29 -- and there is a vineyard on the property. Mehr

We had a rental car and it was very convenient access to Yountville, St. Helena and Calistoga. The resort offers winery shuttle services for a fee. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Swimming pool and whirl pool opens until 10 PM, great for relaxing after dinner. I highly recommend The Meritage Resort and Spa. The hotel was beautiful, rooms were spacious and very luxurious . The spa was incredible!! The location is close napa valley's finest vineyards and restaurants.

We loved this property, it is also super pet friendly.

Although the hotel is close to Napa, it is located in an industrial area which is not obvious. It is also part of a timeshare so there is some 'incentive' to do the presentation. There are expanding and construction is in full swing which we were not aware of.

My wife and I stayed at the Meritage for 4 nights on our tenth anniversary trip. The hotel is very nice: clean and attractive. The staff was pleasant and helpful. They have a shuttle service into town; the drivers were prompt and courteous. Guests are treated to complimentary water and soft drinks and a bottle of wine when you arrive, as well as free […] wi-fi internet service. Our only (mild) complaint was that the bed - although luxuriously appointed - was fairly uncomfortable. We would stay here again in a heart-beat. Mehr
