Hampshire Hotel - Rembrandt Square Amsterdam - Amsterdam

Wir hatten ursprünglich das Hotel Hampshire gebucht, wurden aber im Hotel Eden untergebracht. Uns wurde erzählt, es wäre ein Upgrade. Natürlich hatten wir keine Chance das zu prüfen. Das Zimmer recht klein, Teppichboden nicht sauber, keine Minibar, Bad und Bett aber in Ordnung. Schönes Frühstück und einen richtig guten Kaffee! Die Lage war sehr gut. Nahe dem Rembrandtplatz und trotzdem sehr ruhig. Restaurants- und Fortgehmöglichkeiten, gute Verkehrsanbindung (Straßenbahn, Canal Bus). Zahlreiche Attraktionen in Fußnähe (Rembrandtplatz, Blumenmarkt, Hortus Botanicus, Waterlooplein Flohmarkt, etc.). Das Eden Rembrandt liegt sehr zentral am Rembrandtplein. Wir hatten ein sehr schönes Zimmer mit Blick auf die Amstel. Das Frühstück fanden wir überteuert und haben lieber in naheliegenden Cafes gefrühstückt. Kein hochklassiges Hotel, aber dennoch sauber und das Personal freundlich.

Hotel liegt zentral, vom Hauptbahnhof mit der Strassenbahn ca 5min entfernt , man kann alles sehr gut zu Fuß erreichen. Frühstückbuffet ausreichend vorhanden nur zu den Stosszeiten kanns voll werden. Zimmer gut ausgestattet

Das Eden Square Rembrandt Hotel liegt mitten im Zentrum von Amsterdam, die Lage ist optimal geeignet die Stadt von hier zu Fuß zu erkunden. Bars, Restaurants, Kneipen, Museen, die Grachten, Einkaufsstrassen und der Weihnachtsmarkt mit Schlittschuhbahn sind nur wenige Meter entfernt. Nach Amsterdam kommt man am besten mit dem Zug oder mit dem Flugzeug. […] Zum Bahnhof Amsterdam Central läuft man eine knappe halbe Stunde. Parken ist schwierig bzw. teuer - gegenüber des Hotels befindet sich ein Parkhaus, in dem Hotelgäste vergünstigt parken können. Mehr

Für den Preis ein super Hotel mit hervorragender, zentraler Lage. Wir bekamen kostenlos ein Zimmerupgrade und hatten ein großzügiges Zimmer mit Blick auf die Amstel.

Die Lage des Eden Rembrandt Square Hotel ist wirklich genial zentral. Modern eingerichtet, sehr gute Matratze - man schläft herrlich (für Lärmempfindliche: das Zimmer nicht zur Strasse mit Strassenbahn nehmen). Leider lässt der Zimmerservice und Unterhalt zu wünschen übrig, was aber wohl am Management liegt. Frühstück nicht im Hotel einnehmen! Service […] lausig - Geschirr wird ewig nicht abgeräumt, Buffet nicht aufgefüllt (auch hier schlechtes Management spürbar). Dafür gibt es in unmittelbarer Nähe (2 Min. zu Fuss) am Rembrandt Plein jede Menge guter Restaurants, wo man bei schönem Wetter draussen (mit Wärmestrahler bei kühleren Temperaturen) sehr gut frühstücken kann. Nice hotel next to Rembrandt Square - a place with clubs, bars, restaurant and some coffeeshops. No "red light rooms" around. Two tramways to/from Center Station right in front of the hotel.

Sehr zentral, hilfsbereite Angestellte. Zimmer dürften grösser sein.

With great location, comes great noise. Right off a busy area of bars and restaurant, party goers kept us up into the wee hours of the morning. After checking in with a very unfriendly and unhelpful rude front desk lady, we had to switch our rooms three times due to stains on the carpet and food smell coming through the vents. One of the better hotels I've stayed in at Amsterdam. Travel there for work. Reasonably priced, as Amsterdam hotels can be extremely overpriced, especially for what you get. Only thing missing was a gym, so went road running instead and took in the sights.

Was ok,the air condisioner didn't worked and i had 2 single beds instead of one queen size.besides rhe service was alright

Close to all the great sights, comfortable, friendly and helpful staff. We arrived at 6:45am and were given a room immediately. Would definitely stay there again. Only negative was an expensive breakfast.

Spot on location, Good value for money considering Amsterdam prices. Will stay again when back in the Dam. Also easy access to all attractions.

Very nice, a bit pricy hotel in general with modern (although a bit small) rooms. They could have more often vacuum cleaned the floor though.

great stay convenient to everything with tram just a few feet away.

As written in other reviews, the carpet in the room was absolutely filthy. We saw the conceirge at his desk only one time during our four day visit. Beds were very comfortable. Mini bar very expensive. Wired internet is free, wireless costs extra. Good location where you can walk to just about everything. Take tram #9 from the Central Station right […] to the hotel. Mehr

Great location,walking distance to dam square, and all attractions. On a main tram line as well. I liked this location better than the more well know dam square or central station, as the rem brant square is just around corner, and seems less tourist trap. Pubs and restaurants all around, as well as pharmacy,and coffee shops. Hotel rooms noisy on rem […] square side,as this is where tram passes by. Ask for room facing the canal side. There are 2 street entrances. Hotel did not provide face clothes or alarm clock! Towels, but no facecloths! Bring your own! Concierge helpful,and arranged tours and pick ups. It's worth booking a tour to see the city and some of the countryside. Mehr

Enjoyed our stay in amsterdam. The staff are friendly. The rooms need updating , the bathroom was nice but would of been better with seperate shower. Alse black on tiles. The carpet was badly marked too. The bed very comfortable and a brilliant size.

Very good hotel, excellent location, room was very comfortable. The only negative point would be the carpet in our room was quite dirty.

the attention to detail from the reception through to the bedroom was not up to standard. We were upgraded to an apartment which had a wonderful location on the canal. However, the apartment was not properly cleaned every day, the bedside lights didnt work and the soap dish was broken. There was an overall feeling of shabbiness in the room. The staff […] were not particularly attentive or helpful and regrettably we would not recommend this hotel to our friends. There was a duty manager on one of the nights who behaved extremely professionally when our room was leaking. Mehr

I was surprised by finding such a good hotel, since I wasn't expecting it. Modern, nice and well located. There was free wifi in the room. The breakfast wasn't included and it was far too expensive (17.50€), so we went to a coffee shop next to the hotel.

Overall it is a very nice hotel. The only real complaint I have is the staff seems to not know or have a general procedure for shuttles to the airport. We had to go to another hotel, then we were told they would pick us up at the Eden, then they wouldnt pick us up there. Frustrating! Very nice and comfortable hotel only a block off Rembrandtplein.

If you are looking to be in the middle of it all this is the perfect hotel. The only issue I had was the carpet in my room was horrid. Huge stains all over. It looked like 30 people pored soda or god knows what on the floor. Besides that wonderful.

We stayed at the Eden Rembrandt square over a long weekend at the end of July. Its right in the centre of Amsterdam within short walking distance of the Kalverstraat shopping area and many restaurants/ bars etc. Perfect for couples wanting a break away in Amsterdam. The hotel itself was very comfortable with friendly, helpful staff. We were given a […] large room which was clean and quiet. The only downside was that our bed was two singles pushed together (quite common in Europe nowadays) and we thought that the buffet breakfast was expensive. All in all a very enjoyable stay and we'll definately consider staying there again. Mehr

Good comfortable and ok location in AMS.

Room was supposed to be a king room however like most places in europe they do not have king beds and simply put two beds together and call it a king. However in this room they had two beds apart with seperate bedding and everything so to have a couple together was made very difficult and uncomfortable. The location if you like nightlife was great as […] you are just a step away from all that could want for nightlife, bars and clubs. Overall the hotel was nice and a decent value however the bedding would need to be improved to consider staying here again. Mehr

The location of this hotel is excellent for tourists. The staff was helpful at all times. The room we stayed in on our previous visit which was June 14, 2011 was more comfortable but both rooms were clean which is most important to us. Yes we would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam for the first time or repeat visit.

This is a beautiful hotel, with modern and clean facilities, a computer for free use in the lobby, and in a great location. Access from the train station was relatively easy - although we were unfortunately directed to use the metro and then walked about 6 blocks with suitcases, when the tram actually stops just down the street. My only real complaint […] is the beds - which, although new and clean, with beautiful white sheets, were far too soft/saggy and had feather mattress toppers which leaked feathers. So, if you have a bad back you may want to ask if they have any firmer beds - I had to sleep on the floor in the end, as my back wouldn't tolerate the sagginess. Mehr

Good location and good place to stay

Our 1st stay was in an Exec. room, w/no issues. The 2nd stay was in a standard room, w/major cleaning issues. Room wasn't cleaned once, despite my reminder at front desk. The bed was made and towels changed, but that was it. Bins weren't emptied, tissues not replenished, bathroom completely untouched, sheets unchanged. After reading some less favourable reviews, I was slightly concerned about booking this hotel but I need not have worried, everything was excellent. I am not only very well travelled but also very fussy and I was very impressed with this hotel. Check in was speedy, helpful and polite. Rooms were modern, clean and well equipped. Extra features like big […] cups with tea and coffee making facilities, good quality spotless bedding and comfy beds, large shower heads, luxurious free toiletries and decent black out curtains. The location just off Rembrandt Square, seconds from a tram stop was also ideal. Journey time on a tram to central station is about ten minutes. Hard to find anything negative to say except that the 'twin' rooms have two beds but they are pushed together. You can separate them if you wish but there's not an awful lot of space. Oh, and the dirty carpets lots of people mention, really aren't that bad, just the normal amount of wear and tear you'd expect at a well used, mid range hotel. And who spends their time in Amsterdam in their hotel looking at the carpets??? Mehr

The maid made the bed and provided fresh towels, but in no way cleaned up the room. No trash was picked up, no coffee/tea was restocked, no clean mugs/glasses provided. Highly unprofessional. My GF and i were in bed together at night when hotel staff WALKED INTO OUR ROOM unannounced. When I asked what they wanted, they exited the room immediately. […] I opened the door to inquire their invasion, was told they were there to check the minibar. This is odd because the minibar is electronic and is automatically checked. Staff had no respect of privacy, and the audacity to lie to guests. The beds were two twin beds pushed together which is the most uncomfortable way to sleep with a significant other. Either of us was consistently falling in-between the beds. Overall it was a pretty terrible hotel experience and would not recommend it to others. Mehr

Nice hotel in a great location. We checked in very early, and received a free upgrade. The concierge was wonderful, and amazingly helpful. Only drawback--the carpet and tile could use a thorough steam cleaning.
