Super 8 Winslow AZ - Winslow

Just a barebones operation, seems like all the family members were trying to help, the overall impression was that this was a motel geared to the most basic amenities. Good only as a place to get some sleep.

what I expected

The A/C was not working in our room so had to change rooms, but the staff were most solicitous and we were happy enough even tho we had to give up the King bed we requested. Very clean and a satisfactory breakfast.

This hotel was terrible. The only thing that I found good about this place is there were no bugs and it was fairly clean. The mattresses felt like they were left from the 1980's and had little to no support and the pillows were also in terrible shape. There were dogs barking all night as they allow pets and must not monitor the guests with them. We […] had to ask for extra towels as there were not enough in the room. Also the ice machine was broken. In the morning after not being able to sleep very comfortably we got up for the "free" breakfast and of course it was terrible. I would NEVER even think about serving food from that place to my dog. The waffle mix was out at room temp (a huge food safety concern) on top of that they had a plain jane discount store waffle iron instead of the industrial one that should just be standard at a hotel with breakfast. The milk was warm and the whole breakfast area was in disarray. I would rather stay in my car overnight next time than to ever stay at this hotel again! Mehr

We recommed you NEVER stay at this hotel. It is old, not clean, had an order, and the manager was not honest with us. In fact, hotels.com should visit their hotels and see if they would stay in places like this.

All we needed was a quick overnight stay roughly midpoint in our long journey. The Super 8 filled the bill for us. The hotel is older, but the front desk staff was very kind and very helpful and everything was well maintained. The bed was quite comfortable although the pillows were not very big - if you can, bring your own to add (which I typically […] do on road trips). The towels were small and thin - but again, this is an older budget hotel. Overall, we were comfortable and slept well. It''s very quiet there as well which was nice. The front desk attendant was very helpful and nice. The room was good.

This is a hotel just OK for spending a night if you are passing by Winslow, AZ. Nothing owesome, nothing bad.

I had two issues with the hotel...that was the bathroom. The first...here was a dead cocaroach on the bathroom floor. The second...there was hair balls on the bathroom floor.

The room was decent and the cleanlinees was fair. The exterior of the hotel needs some major repair. The beds were just ok. The breakfast was your normal cereal and donuts. Overall good for an over-nighter.

Hotel was in a good position set back from the road outside Winslow to the west. Had a job to find it at first as it was further out of the town than expected. Hotel was on 2 levels with internal corridors. Room was adequate but we were on the ground floor looking onto a wall so rather dark and gloomy. We arrived at the Winslow Super 8 at about 5:00 PM after driving about three hours from Phoenix on March 14, 2009. As we were checking in, two of our party had to use the restroom. They walked into the lobby and asked the lady at the desk if the restrooms were down the hallway. She said yes, and as they began walking down the hallway, she said "Don't […] use that bathroom. You are already checked in, so use the ones in your rooms (we had rented two rooms)". There were no elevators in the hotel, so one of them began taking the steps up two at a time to get to the room (he had to use the bathroom!). As he started up, the same woman said sharply (like your mother when you were a kid), "Knock that off"! We put our bags into the rooms (and of course used the rest rooms!), then left immediately since we had to travel to get to the location where the wedding was to take place. We did not return to the hotel until about 3:00 AM, and so did not get to sleep until about 3:30 AM. I awoke about 10:00 AM. There were four kids (17, 17, 14, 9) with us, and they were still asleep. Check-out time was at 11:00, and since I knew we could not all get showers and pack before check-out time, I called to the front desk to ask for a late check-out. When I asked, the woman at the desk (a DIFFERENT one) asked me (and not nicely) "Why do you need a late check-out"? A little surprised, I told her because everyone was still sleeping and we wanted to clean up a little before we left. She tried to tell me she would only give us until 11:30 AM, but I finally convinced her that 12:00 PM would be better. We did make it by 11:30. There were no coffee packs to brew in our rooms, so we had to go down to the front desk to get some so we could make coffee with the coffee pot in the room. Mehr
