Walton Hall - Warwickshire (Grafschaft)

I was expecting a bit more luxury and pampering but found nothing like it. Average rooms, average service. We had a massage at the spa and that was not too great either. Definitely had better massages at other places.

Excellent weekend. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful grounds and the surrounding countryside. Very relaxing place to stay. Only a couple of little moans:- Tea bags were not replaced both days and we had to request them and most importanta loo roll! Also we were told evening bar meals were available, having asked the question when we arrived, only […] to find Saturday evening we were unable to order and eat in the bar.The reason given was the chef had been too busy with a wedding party but we could order room service with exactly the same menu??? Ours was not to reason why we went up to the Walton Hotel instead but not ideal for us. Just a bit of a little attention to detail may be required. On saying all this our weekend was still most enjoyable and would recommend to friends and family. Mehr

Very misleading information. Paid to stay in Barcelo Walton Hall,it looks beautiful thought it would be lovely.Only to be put in a room in another building,which we felt was sub standard and not worthy of 4 stars.On booking in We questioned our room and were told we had booked a standard room not premier which were the ones in the hall.This hadn't been […] stated to us when booking .On booking it looks as if you will be staying in the glorious hall.Obviously why we booked it.No apologies just left to get on with it unless we paid more to upgrade not a fortune more, however, on principle and their attitude we decided not to.The paint on the doors leading to our room had paint peeling off. Our double room actually had two mattresses zipped together.A lovely television but a very poor reception.A safe that didn't work and had it done so would have been of no use as it wasn't secured to anything. To enter the hall for our breakfast we had to walk outside in the rain as our room didn't even ajoin the hall.Breakfast itself wasn't the best either scrambled egg was a real runny mush, the fried bread was burnt and the fried eggs were very strange i tried to chew and cut mine but the bottoms actually looked and felt like they had plastic on them, Lastly to the swimming pool it was freezing cold we have never experienced such a cold indoor pool. To top it all waiting in the queue to check out the man at reception had seen us there for a long while but was dealing with a request for another guest. All of a sudden another guest walked around the corner put his bags on the chair and proceeded to book out no once was he told that others were waiting to be served. It is such a shame as the hall itself looks absolutely fabulous as do the grounds. Mehr

This magnificent hotel is set in some seriously lovely grounds with a beautiful lake, cute church and even a guided walk in your room. The staff are extremely helpful - we did have an issue with our door lock but we were ushered into the bar area and sat down with free drinks while it was sorted. The room we had was excellent, contemporary but with […] character and all mod cons. The one negative could be the restaurant - the only choice is a five course set meal at over £50 so if you want to dine either moer cheaply or have less you must use the bar menu and sit in one of the other sitting rooms. The bar food was great and as such should be offered on the main menu as a choice I think. We went on a deal and I expect rack rtate would have made this far out of our reach but in terms of quality and service, excellent. Mehr

We booked a double room but on arrival found it was actually twin beds pushed together. I asked at reception if we could be moved, even though the room was very nice, to a double room. Originally we were located in the coach house but moved in to the main hall for a small upgrade charge. The lady on reception was very helpful and found us a super room […] with views overlooking the gardens. The room itself was massive and luxurious. We didn’t have dinner in the restaurant as it was very very quiet, probably due to being a Sunday evening, anyway I can’t comment on the dinner menu. However breakfast itself and the service was again first class. Only downside was the spa facilities which were quite basic, small pool, steam room was out of order and no Jacuzzi. Gym looked OK. I would certainly recommend the hotel and would definitely return. Room 2 is excellent if you want to make a specific request. Mehr

Nice welcome, clean room and nice touches . Problem with the bed being on a raised platform as we knocked our legs up several times( room 4 ). could be dangerous at night time!! Lounge seemed very dull and the bar lacked atmosphere. Grounds beautiful.

Overall we were very impressed. There was a large wedding party but we did not hear them once as the function rooms are located away from the main hall. I am glad we booked the hall rather than the hotel, the website isnt crystal clear that there are two buildings on the site and if I had booked expecting the hall and got the hotel I would have been […] very disappointed. 昔は貴族の館だったような、広大な敷地に石造りの大きなお屋敷のホテルです。街からは離れており、夜にたどり着くのは難しいでしょう（車が無いと着きません）。プレミアム以上の部屋でないと、本館ではなく裏の別棟（昔は倉庫みたい）の部屋になって、がっかりします。設備は新しいですが、故障したばあいには中々来てくれません。食事付きプランの場合には、精算時に注意（二重請求）が必要です。 環境は抜群で、広大な庭園には、野生のウサギ、リス、キジ、カモ、運が良ければ夜にはミミズクが飛びます。レストランはイタリアンでおいしいです。すぐ裏の、ウォールトンホテルとは、別のホテル（ホールと呼ばれてます）です。 You need to select "premium" or over, otherwise backyard […] non view room (facilities are new).
