Vacation Village in the Berkshires - Hancock

Wir wollten das Konzert zum 75. Jubiläum der Tanglewood Festpiele des BSO in Lenox besuchen. Leider war in der näheren Umgebung kein Hotelzimmer mehr zu einem akzeptablen Preis zu bekommen. Die Appartmentanlage "Vacation Village in the Berkshires" erwies sich als perfekte Alternative. Großzügig ausgestattete Appartments (Klimaanlage, TV mit Kabelprogrammen, […] vollständige Küchenausstattung), Innen- und Aussenpool sowie die wunderschöne Hügellandschaft der Berkshires machten unseren Aufenthalt zum Vergnügen. Kleine Minuspunkte: Wifi gibt's nur gegen Zusatzgebühr, wohl der Größe der Anlage geschuldet erfolgt das Einchecken recht unpersönlich. Und tatsächlich findet man die nächsten Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten erst in 10 km Entfernung. Mehr

Great place to stay with kids

We stayed here before 2-3 years ago and had a king suite. This time we had a queen suite and the bed was super uncomfortable. Our backs were aching by the time we checked out - the mattress was just way too hard. Not crazy about the fact they charge for Wi-Fi ($25/day) because most places offer it for free. It is in a really good location, lots to see […] and do, although the weather was horrible when we were there. The Lee Premium Outlets are about 25 or so miles away and worth the trip if the weather is lousy! Mehr

the views were calming and we had a room near the clubhouse which worked well for us. it was a good size room with enough space for 4. The management was very accommodating.I like the pool but it would have been nice to have had a lifeguard to manage at times, as parents allowed their kids to do running flips into the pool. also, times for adults only […] so that those who like to swim laps could be able to do this. Very nice resort great location directly across the street from the ski area, the only thing missing is that they need to offer a free shuttle to mountain so that you can avoid hassle of loading up all your gear and kids to just drive across the street.

This place is quite nice but you should be warned that it isn't really a hotel. It is basically a condo complex. If you intend on staying for a stretch- more than one night- it would work out better. We stayed overnight and the pain the the rear of their checkout process slowed us down the next morning. Check out time is early- 10- and you have to strip […] your own beds, place laundry in the tub and take out your own trash. The get up and go convenience of a hotel isn't there. The rooms are nice and if you intend to stay for a week of skiing, they would be a better fit. Be advised that you have to pay for internet. The info we had led us to believe that we had the slow internet for free- fine since we were not there for business. There is no free internet and what we paid $10 for was really, really slow. It would not support business applications. Also, this place allows dogs. Many places do but this is the first time in 20 years of business travel that I have been awakened by dogs barking. This complex is also a bit noisy. It caters to long term stay ski business and would be a great fit for a family ski week. Not a good match for a 1-2 night business stay. Mehr

We were very satisfied again with the Vacation Village at the Berkshires. The price is right and the condo is perfect. It's a nice size and includes everything.

Overall the place was great and very family-friendly. However, because some of the units are owned, there was second-hand smoke that you could smell in the non-smoking units. The management was very apologetic and even though they couldn't stop the smoking, they did offer to move us to another room.

This hotel is right across from Jiminy Peak which makes it great if that is your priority. The downside to this hotel is that you need to take care of your own trash, pull all your linens at the end of your stay, wash all dishes, or you will get charged a cleaning fee. For the price paid, you would not think you would have to do this. Also, they only […] have bar soap in the bathrooms, so you must bring your own shampoo, conditioner, etc. which again for the dollars you spend you would think they would at least provide those item. In addition, on this stay we ended up with some college students below us which made for 2 difficult sleeping nights. We stayed here 2 times before and never had this happen, so I consider this an isolated situation. But, I am bugged by the lack of typical service for such a nice place. Mehr

Originally we had 2 one bd unit for our 2nd and 3rd nights, but after some discussion and additional payment we kept our 2bd unit. A unit is much nicer and B unit. If we ended up staying in 2 B units, we would not have an oven or a dishwasher. Overall, very pleasant stay.

I think that we got the low end room with no view and peeling wall paper and dirty sheets. There were not enough towels and the hallway smelled. I am sure there are better units, but since this was an overnight..check in by 4pm check out by 10 am; it didn't warrant a call. I would rate this a 2 star hotel.

This is a great spot in the Berkshires for winter and summer fun. Excellent location (across from Jiminy Peak in Hancock, MA) - lots of kid friendly amenities. It is pet friendly too (alhough a hefty fee). We stayed in a large suite - it was excellent. You couldn't ask for a better facility.

great place for both the family and for couples....staff friendly & helpful. its a condo and not really a hotel, but if you are willing to do some simple things (like take out the garbage at the end of your stay) you can get a small, private suite w/balcony. can't wait to go back!

This is our second time to stay in this place...Very close to Jiminy Peak Ski Resort. very convenience without paying high price. rooms are very clean and matching with those photos seen on their website... family friendly room atmosphere. very nice over all. will be back again for sure.

I went with a small group of friends and we all had a wonderful time. We spent the bulk of the weekend in the room just hanging out and only left for a late night dip in the hot tub. The bed was very comfortable. The sofa bed was adequate. For the price, this place is fantastic.

Beautiful hotel. Very comfortable, clean and spacious room. Nice view. Great hot tub. Swimming pool is kind of small and shallow. No shampoo/conditioner provided. No salt/pepper/tee, just coffee for one morning. Check out is 10:00. Kind of early. Reasonably priced. Would stay again.

Great rooms/suites. Comfortable, bed was very comfortable. Everything was new and kitchenette was stocked nicely. Only complaint was the bathroom towels were VERY rough, but I'm "looking" to find something "bad" about the stay. Fantastic time, would defintely go back.

This is a great place to stay if you are going to be here for longer than a weekend. This is the second time I have stayed here. Rooms are spotlessly clean and the staff is very friendly.

This is a fine Hotel. Just watch the clock in the morning. The check out time is 10am. If you don't leave by then they jimmy your door open and enter to clean the place.

It was fine, however, it had no shampoo and conditioner. These days who does not provide shampoo and conditioner? So none of us showered as we had no supplies.... The check out time seemed a little strict as well. If you check out one minute after 10 you are charged another night and a cleaning fee.

Very nice place. We stayed in a nice apartment that was fully equipped and clean. Also had a fireplace and jacuzzi. Was really good and had restfull sleep on a nice comfy bed.

We stayed one night only, but it was nice experience. Many facilities for different guest ages. Also, pets are allowed. Conditioner works silently. Small problems: no remote control for TV. However we believe, if we stay longer, problem would be fixed promptly

While our unit was clean, spacious, and bright we found the staff to be unfriendly and not especially welcoming. It was also curious that we had to take care of our own trash and linen upon departure. We never experienced this in any other vacation facility.
