Great hotel with energetic staff that was very helpful. We looked right out our window down to the riverwalk and "heart island". :D Beautiful place.

The location was great for everything we wanted to see and do. The Hotel staff were very cordial and cooperative. The hotel itself was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The pool and weight room area was fantastic.

Wonderful time. Hotel and staff was above and beyond any other place we've stayed. Highly recommend to anyone staying in the San Antonio area.

Great location; a lot was going on at this hotel, at the start of Fiesta. We had a great room, overlooking the River Walk

My husband and I came here for a quick weekend getaway. The hotel was the perfect location for everything we wanted to do and see. The staff was very friendly and professional....from the valet to the front desk! We will certainly make this a priority hotel to stay at for future visits to SA!

We had a great time during our 3 night stay. The rooms were very nice, we had the king riverwalk suite. Although the long windows were very nice, would have preferred a balcony, but all good. The Concierge ( Eddie is the best of them all ) were EXTREMELY helpful. The Valet was a bit expensive, but worth it. We didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment […] on that part. If there is one thing, is that the noise (from the bar ) travels very high up to the rooms through the open air space in the middle of the building, but I guess there is not much that can be done about that. The hotel was very nice and convenient. The rooms were very large by my standards. An event in the lounge area was quite loud one evening, which due to the atrium configuration allows sound to travel up the height of the building interior, but was only audible closer to the door of my room on the 9th floor. We came on a family vacation while we had company. We booked the room at the last minute and got 10% off using hotels.com. We seemed to have got a good deal. There were a lot of issues when we got there. A) We showed up to the hotel at 12pm-we weren't allowed into out room till 4pm because the room wasnt ready for us. B) We had to check out at 11am-we […] know this is standard but we felt like out stay was rushed. C) When we got back tot he room after dinner, we took our kids socks and shoes off-as well as our shoes-my kids feet turned black from the carpets-and our socks turned back. After the kids bath we pretty much put them right to bed so their feet wouldn't get dirty again. D)Room service charges a 22% delivery charge-needless to say-we ended up not using the kids eat free discount. E) The room is accommodated with a very large bathroom-which was nice but there are no rugs-which some hotels dont have-I feel like its a must. Plus the tub was very slippery and the shower curtain didnt close all the way so water got everywhere. I know some of these seem small, but I refuse to take my kids back to a room that was dirty. The AC had trouble cooling for the entire weekend, but all in all the stay was great. Good curteous service with a very nice and large clean room. Close enough to everything but far enough away where the riverwalk noise isnt bothersome. 1 piece of advice if you are walking street level avoid the bus stop 1 block east.

One of the better hotels to stay while in San Antonio...very convenient reasonably priced. Excellent spa as well. Only complaint would be valet....usually took 15-20 minutes to get car so if you are in a hurry call down sooner.

The people who work there are very rude! You can spend the same money and stay at a much better place.We did not get the room we booked.We were not happy with it at all!!! Save your money and stay somewhere else :)

Great service , helpful friendly staff, perfect entry to the riverwalk..Great food...

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel was very comfortable, all the amenities you could want and very convenient, private spot on the Riverwalk. We will definitely stay again.

At the riverwalk bar at Hotel Contessa, they serve the best margaritas on the river. Get the goat cheese tapa for half price at happy hour.

My stay was perfect. The hotel's location is incredible, with a back entrance right onto the river walk and only 4 blocks from the Alamo. The staff were extremely courteous and the hotel and room were breath-takingly beautiful. The room was one of the larger rooms I've stayed in with a separate living area wonderful view. The bed and the pillows are hard. The lobby bar is way too expensive. Other than that, good service, good location, nice and clean.

The Hotel is on the River Walk, within walking distance of the Hard Rock Cafe, The River Walk Mall, and every other must-see attraction. The Hotel Staff are very friendly and will go above and beyond what i would ever expect of any staff. The bar/restaurant on the River Walk level is one in a million. Last but not least, the pool is on the roof of the […] building next to the gym and the spa, so you can swim and watch the sun set against the San Antonio City silhouette-laid sky!! Made reservations on my way to San Antonio to go watch a Spurs game. Called the hotel to confirm the reservation and let them know I would be arriving late, after the basketball game. When we showed up at 10:30pm our room was no longer available. We had reserved a room with double beds and were “upgraded” to a King and a couch pull-out. Not sure how […] going from 2 beds to 1 bed and a pull-out is considered an upgrade. What was really aggravating was all the kids pressing all the floor buttons in the elevators. Took over 20 minutes to get from the 10th floor to the lobby. I expect a lot more out of a premium rate hotel. Mehr

This is a wonderful hotel. The only reason I couldn't give all 5's is because one of the two hotel rooms was in a little worse condition than expected. There was a large stain on the couch and the A/C had a major issue. It was whining throughout the first night of our stay and maintenance came to fix it, but by the afternoon it had quit again. They […] replaced the motor and from then on it was okay, but in a hotel with these kind of prices, you expect the best. They did give breakfast vouchers to the guests staying in that room, but that created an issue when we had four others staying in the other room that had to then pay for breakfast. But overall, this was a wonderful hotel and I will definitely be back because even with the A/C issue, the service was above and beyond and the people working there were so friendly! Mehr

Awesome hotel right on the Riverwalk, walking distance to all of downtown. Staff was extremely helpful, food at Las Ramblas was great....can't say enough positive things. Will definitely stay here again.

Was nice but will stay at a big chain next time.

We were totally disappointed with the service at the check in, then with our room, bedding had not been changed pee staines on the sheets and horrible smell. No coffee cups to drink coffee but pot and coffee was provided and pot was not working either. At the pool and enough towels for the all the guests who was swimming. I booked this room for my Wife and grand kids during Spring Break. When they returned from the trip all the kids and my wife could talk about was how great the Hotel was. Looks like we will be staying every time we make a trip to San Antonio

My family of 4 stayed at this hotel and it was great! Only thing that wasn't to my liking was the sofa bed. It was extremely uncomfortable (but what sofa bed is really comfortable...probably none). Problems began at check-in. The check in time is listed as 4PM, but our room was not available until 5:15. When we checked in, the key to the minibar could not be located, so we had no access to the refrigerator. The suites do not include a kitchen. When the room was serviced, hand towels and wash cloths were not replaced. Neither was the coffee, tea, […] shampoo and soap. The front desk never notified the valet when we called for our car, so it took about 20 minutes to get the car. We finally sent the manager an email complaining about the service and he apologized and said that the hotel was much busier than usual because it was spring break and St. Patrick's day weekend. He comped our parking fee and gave us a breakfast voucher. However, I would not stay there again. The rates are much too expensive for the poor quality of service. Mehr

The Hotel Contessa is a a beautiful hotel. The employees are always so nice and helpful. It's right beside riverwalk . They have great food at their dining area. This is great for families or romantic get aways!!

tne tv remotes didnt work it was overprice and by mistake we did double reservation and they didnt offer to help or cancel one

Wonderful hotel. Such easy access to hotel. Beautiful rooms very comfortable and extreamly clean.so many ammenities to use if you care to, We usually stay at the Westin Riverwalk but the Contessa hotel is my new favorite place to stay hands down.Absolutely Perfect.

Very nice all suite hotel on a quieter part of the Riverwalk. Walking distance to all the sights, as well as the Mexican market (great place for breakfast) and the King William district. Very reasonable happy hours in afternoon and late night.

Stayed for a week at the Hotel Contessa - was surprised at the size of the rooms - even had a separate lounge room! Bedroom/Bathroom were spacious and clean. Beds were extremely comfortable (King Size). Airconditioning highly controllable (not blasting away). Aside from the very friendly service, I can say the room service food was delicious and the […] hotel has a lovely boutique character about it - far from the usual spartan, cold, pokey hotel room. The only small negative was that the people re-stocking the mini bar need to check the use-by dates on items such as juices - they were months over their use-by date. Finally, the bar at the centre of the atrium was a delightful place to sit for a drink at the end of the day, and their tapas was excellent! Mehr

The hotel was beautiful and in a great location. Our room was great with the exception that the bed was extremely hard. Otherwise, our stay was great.

The staff was wonderful, hotel was beautiful, and was close to everything we wanted to see Expericnce was fabulous. Only one negative... the parking. The price is outrageous and was quite the task to get in and out. Pulling in seemed easy however, to get our vehicle out, we had to wait for some time and then became so crowded that cars had to wait for […] others to get out. Some guests took their time making others wait longer. There has to got to be an easier way to leave with valet parking. Took 5 seconds to check out and 45 to wait on our car and to leave. Hotel Contessa is a nice hotel and in a good location. The staff is friendly and helpful, but the hotel is over priced. You can stay at one of the other 4 star hotels right nextdoor and get the same quality for less money.

This was my first experience staying in a hotel on the riverwalk. When you check in the hotel asks for a $150 deposit which I didn't know so just to warn you. You get the deposit back after your stay. The resturant is nice but it's a little pricey. The good thing is that you can charge it to your room and the deposit can go towards your resturant bill. […] Your gonna have to pay for parking either valet or at the parking garage on your own. Our first night we had to call the front desk to send someone to fix our heatersince it was so cold in the room and outside. The hotel set someone to come fix it. Took almost two hours to fix but it got fixed. Mehr

This hotel was very clean and modern. All hotel staff were very courteous and helpful. The bar area is large and nicely decorated with a view of the river. We could not have been more satisfied. Most of the staff also speak Spanish which was helpful since I had a Spanish speaking guest from South America.
