Cassandra Hotel - Vancouver

Es war unsere letzte Nacht in Vancouver vor dem Rückflug. Der Zustand des Zimmer war in Ordnung, wenn man nur übernachtet. Das Badezimmer ist allerdings stark renovierungsbedürftig. Die Aussicht wäre super gewesen, hätte nicht direkt vor unserem Fenster ein Strommast gestanden. Leider wurde das Restaurante gerade renoviert, so dass wir zum Frühstück […] nur ein Lunchpaket, 2 kl. When I walked it the lobby to check-in, I smelled an odor, the elevator, hallway to the rooms..got used to it. The service was nice. My actual room was okay. What I like about the hotel is the location. It's really close to the Mall. Has shopping stores in walking distance and good restaurants. Overall, my trip was good.

Accommodating staff, secure parking, quiet sleep. Feel like i got my moneys worth and will definitely stay there again if the price is the same. While .the hotel is a bit dated, our room looked exactly like the one in the picture. We enjoyed the hot tub and found the neighbourhoud interesting with great restaurants close by. The bed looked smaller than a queen like they had given me a full size bed instead. It also seemed like it was sunk in the center so if you were sleeping next to anyone you would eventually find yourselves rolling into each other. To top it off they had construction going on which they never mentioned. They happened to pit me in the room right above […] it as well. Instead of waiting to check out time they began hammering away at 8 in the morning and it wasn't the kind of.sound that just woke you and you could ignore it. Itrattled the room and when I called the front desk to inquirer they didn't seem to much care and hardly said sorry. I wouldn't stay again here and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Mehr

All was well, although restaurant was under renovations and breakfast was a donut in a ziploc a granola bar and juice box. One of the reasons we stayed there was that breakfast was included.

We stayed 2 nights at Cassandra. It was our worst experience in this trip of 2 weeks at Vaqncouver, Jasper & Banff. Room was spacious, but the problem was the bad smell. The Carpet in the whole hotel is so dirty, the smell will hit your nerve the moment you enter the motel. It was so bad that you may fanit. We tried to change the room due to smell, […] but then the other room also had a similar smell. The other problem was that the fridge & aircon remained turned OFF and that made the smell even worse. They had breakfast at the lobby, but we didn't dare to go there as we saw the condition of the cleanliness. This motel needs a overhaul of carpet and fix all the bad smell. Mehr

The location is in a suburban area and about a 25-30 minute car drive into downtown... The only good thing about the location is there are a lot of good authentic Asian restaurants around. The staff were very friendly but the hotel itself is very run down. Our bathroom was gross... Moldy tiles and stained old towels w/ hair stuck in them! Very average hotel, with low maintenance. Not a tourist friendly location in Vancouver, since away from most things. We were there for only the night, 8 hours to be precise. The promissed breakfast next morning was only a rice crispy bar and a cinamon roll.

the hotel had a bad musty smell

Empfangsraum mieft. Hotelzimmer o.k. Im Keller vor Sauna und Bad sehr, sehr schmutziger Boden, Sauna, Bad und Trainigsräume waren abgeschlossen - Zustand unbekannt.

Was charged a $28 housekeeping fee cause room was too messy....which consisted of some teenagers clothes and some pop cans....nothing out of the ordinary for housekeeping and one of the beds had a gimpy corner so it was leaning to one side. Phoned to talk to manager and was assured I would hear back within 24 - 48 hours and have heard nothing. Cleanliness […] of hotel was poor. This hotel is bearable/tolerable only if you are sure that you can not afford any better hotel or do not want to spend any more money on your stay. Other than that, do not expect anything pleasant in there. The room is fairly dirty and old. The tv is ancient. overall ok .Elevator did not work for few hours.

Smells of damp upon arrival but that is the pool in the basement. Clean and functional. 7 minute walk to train station and 15 minute train ride to downtown. Very good & cheap local asian restaurants nearby, ask the hotel staff.

-Close to public transportation -$25 taxi ride from Granville -Pretty far drive from Downtown area -Chinese restaurants everywhere -Breakfast = granola bar, juice box, and bread

Well, I should start by saying the hotel staff was very nice, the girls working the front desk were the only things that made this hotel ok for one night. The rooms look nothing like the pictures, we were given a room that promised a mountain view what we got was a view of a electric transformer (powerline) right outside the window. The rooms actually […] had huge pieces of carpet missing...yes, actually missing! Like they carpeted around beds that were no longer in the room. I asked to be moved away from the transformer and they moved us directly next door (we still had the powerlines in the window and this room was also missing carpet. The neighborhood was not that great but the sushi place down the street had a great happy hour and the food was very good. Anyhow, the only plus to this place was the friendly staff...I can't really say much else. Mehr

This hotel is pretty far off the beaten path from downtown Vancouver, but the light rail station is literally a 10 minute walk from the hotel and it's a short train ride into town. The room was clean and the neighborhood was nice and quiet. I'll definitely stay here again!

Good value hotel in convinient location in greater Vancouver area. Close to Skytrain station and bus stops.

We arrived and were "upgraded" to a suite, but apart from the TV the decor looked like we could've quite easily been transported back to the 1970s. The kitchenette had no bowls and one tiny saucepan, and scraps of cereal left in the cupboards. The bed had cigarette burns in the blanket and the windows did nothing to block out the sound of the main road […] (Kingsway) outside. The sauna/hot tub room was locked, and the "breakfast" consisted of a cereal bar, a plain croissant and a juice box handed to us in a clear plastic bag. On the other hand, it was only a 10 minute walk to the skytrain, it had secure underground parking, the mattresses were comfortable and it was relatively cheap. We enjoyed our stay in this hotel, its just a nice place to rest after a long day of sightseeing. What makes a difference is the staff in the hotel namely Wendy and also Katrina , who was very plasant and friendly ,especially katrina who suggested us places to visit and also she was very informative on how to get to places.Keep up the great work !! […] ! Bathroom toilet ran continuios even after i called. The bathroom outlet didnt work ,called them for that too. dried hair in the bedroom area. limtieted outlets there working.. only good thing free wifi ! thats was it.

First off, my friends and I were excited about this hotel because it had a Korean restaurant, but it turned out that it was closed till further notice. Then when we reached our room, it look okay. The door wouldn't close properly, our toilet would take forever to flush, and at one point the toilet was running overnight. The remote control for the TV […] did not work and the batteries were kept in place with duck tape. Also, in there was no proper shower head in the bathroom. Free Parking, Free Internet, decent sized rooms - overall a good deal. Reasonably close to downtown and good Asian restaurants nearby.

About halfway between downtown Vancouver and New Westminster, on a major thoroughfare and not far from the sky train. Quiet, with a nice spa, and nice view of the mountains from our room.

PROS: - close to skytrain within walking distance - friendly staff- if it's raining,ask to borrow their umbrellas - shower has good water pressure - had no problems with wireless internet CONS: -workout room equipment/ machine mostly broken - since dining area is in renovation, continental breakfast doesn't have a sit down area-you just go to the front […] desk and ask for the breakfast. In the bag, you get juice, a croissant, soft scone, strudel or muffin. Coffee is out in the front- self serve. Mehr

Good location Room was clean with nice view on mountain side. Shower worked well and had secure underground parking garage at no charge. Did not use wireless because of separate charge. Breakfast in a bag is not necessary.

heater was too old to work. it's too cold. we could not sleep . service was bad too.

it was nice stay, room was nice with Refrigerator, iron board and oven. they have gated parking which was very nice. But there was some confusion with my booking, i had booked for 2 nights but hotel had 1 night only. Before checking with hotel.com they charged my card and we have multiple discussion and took a while to short it out. TV remote was not […] working, told at front desk, she told she will come and check but never showed up.. Mehr

The hotel charged my credit card $175.00 when I checked in as a "deposit", not a hold but an actual charge! They then said they would refund the charge after actually sending a maid up to the room when we checked out.

no internet , no breakfast , hotel rates not match what u paid !!!! Not recommend to other ....

Front desk staff were very accommodating. Service was very good. Clean room and maintained air conditioner. The room did not have only 3 pillows - for queen size bed.

The room was a good value for the price. It had all the basic ameneties at a reasonable price.

Upon arrival, I was informed by the attendant that the wireless internet was not functional and that a tech would be in the following morning to fix the problem. Two days past without any repairs being initiated. Breakfast is made available at the front counter, never delivered, and disappears after 0930. Indoor sauna/hot tub close far to early and […] were never accessible during my stay as I returned to the hotel late each evening. Staff are friendly, but there is much room for improvement... worth a bit less than I paid. Mehr

We got about 25% discount from Hotels.com. The original price is too high for the room quality. The room is big, but the bed is not good quality. The staff are kind and helpful though.

I didn't use all the facilities and obviously didn't see all the rooms so perhaps I was unlucky but I think the photos of the hotel flatter to deceive. My room was a single as described. The bathroom was large and clean but quite hideous with bits of mould around the bath, a tatty cupboard and a shower you had to run round in to get wet. Ancient aircon […] and a tired bed. Cleaning completely missed the first day and my used linens in the bathroom removed without replacement on the second day. Public areas were pleasant enought but I was expecting better from this hotel. Underground carparking a bonus. Mehr

The hotel is located conveniently closed to restaurants, bus and sky train route.The hotel is clean and priced well.There is ample and free parking space.

The hotel smells like smoke. Our room smelt pretty bad too so we had to leave the windows open the entire time we were there. We stayed at the Days Inn down the street the last day, it was the same price and MUCH nicer. If you have the choice stay at the Days INN instead.
