"Ich werde es wieder buchen"
Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 14. Feb. 2013Zu einem günstigen Preis erhielt ich als Alleinreisende ein Doppelzimmer (gebucht hatte ich ein Einzelzimmer). Frühstück war von 7-10 Uhr inbegriffen und für mich völlig ausreichend. Das Buffet bestand aus - Brötchen, Toast, Wurst, Käse, Marmelade, Eier, Melone, Orangen, Kaffee, Tee und Saft. Sollte eigentlich für jeden etwas dabei sein. Mein Zimmer bestand aus einem Doppelbett und einem kleinen älteren Röhrentv und Schrank - dann war das Zimmer auch schon gut voll. Instant Kaffee und Tee + Wasserkocher sind am Zimmer. Das Badezimmer dagegen (mit Dusche) war sehr geräumig. Die Nähe zum Zentrum war für mich ausschlaggebend und in kürzester Zeit ist man auch gleich in der Shopping-"Meile". Rezeption im Hotel ist 24 Std. besetzt, kostenloses WLan ist mittels Code vorhanden. Ich hatte gefragt ob ich eine Std. später auschecken kann, da mein PickUp um 13 Uhr kam - war kein Problem. Hotel Björk sieht mich sicher wieder :-)

Feb. 2013Der Aufenthalt im "Berg" war sehr schön: Modern naturalistisch eingerichtet, nette Hotelmitarbeiter und vor allem zenrtral genug, dass man auf keine öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel angewiesen ist. Das einzige Manquo was die Hellhörigkeit der Zimmer, so dass man spät abends die anderen Zimmertüren und früh morgens die Duschen hört. Trotzdem insgesamt ein schöner Aufenthalt!

"Ruhig, trotz zentraler Lage"
Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 28. Nov. 2012Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Der Service war ausgesprochen gut. Wegen der Lage des Appartements im Hinterhof haben wir vom Straßenverkehr und den umgebenden Lokalitäten nichts gehört. Das Appartment war sehr zentral gelegen. In wenigen Gehminuten hat man die Sehenswürdigkeiten, Hafen, Bushaltestellen, Lebensmittelgeschäfte, Einkaufsstraße, etc. erreicht. Das Zimmer war mit einem großen Bad und einer ebenso großen komfortablen Dusche ausgestattet. Die Küchenzeile war mit den alltäglichen Notwendigkeiten ausgestattet, so dass wir uns selbst versorgen konnten (10 Tage). Insgesamt würden wir dieses Appartment wieder für unseren nächsten Urlaub wählen. Bei der Buchung muss jedoch beachtet werden, dass Appartment K viele verschiedene Räumlichkeiten in der Stadt verteilt hat.

Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 10. Okt. 2012für unseren Zweck perfekt, Zimmer sparsam eingerichtet, aber für eine Woche Urlaub mehr als ausreichend! Frühstück einfach, aber sehr gut. Jede Firma mit Tagestouren bietet von diesem Hotel Abholung an, auch der Flybus vom Flughafen bedient dieses Hotel. Mitten in dem Szeneviertel 101 Reykjavik, aber keine großen Störungen durch das Nachtleben. Alle gängigen Bars und Restaurants aus Reiseführern gut fußläufig erreichbar.

Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 3. Sep. 2012Unser Aufenthalt in der Grettisgata war schön, ein kleines Apartment mit dem Charme der 80er Jahre. Auf unsere Wünsche wurde schnell und unkompliziert eingegangen. Wer es nicht so stylish braucht und Lust hat, den Einheimischen in die Fenster zu schauen, ist hier gut aufgehoben. Die G-gata ist nahe beim alten Stadtzentrum, trotzdem ist es ruhig nachts.

"Wenig Schlaf"
Das Hotel ist wirklich schön, das Frühstück üppig (allerdings gegen Aufpreis). Bei meinem zweiten Aufenthalt allerdings habe ich ein Zimmer erwischt, bei dem die Decke eher für Kinder gemacht war, ich hatte glücklicherweise einen Schlafsack dabei. Allerdings waren die Wände dermaßen hellhörig, dass ich mir erst bis um halb eins ein Gespräch irgendwo […] über mir angehört habe und dann den Rest der Nacht einem lieben Nachbarn beim Schnarchen. Everything was wonderful. Even before our stay, I chatted online with the hotel manager, Snorri. He was fantastic and gave me a lot of wonderful information. The day we arrived it was 7 am and our room would not be ready for an hour. They gave us the fantastic breakfast buffet complimentary. The room was quiet and location was perfect. "Excellent old style hotel with a touch of class."
The hotel is not very appealing from the outside, but beautifully old school inside. Very atmospheric and original art everywhere. Cosy bar complete with fireplace. Room was functional, but more than adequate. Positioned in a residential part of Reykjavik away from the busy main streets, but only five minutes walk away. Great spot. The wifi in my room […] was weak or sometimes not there at all. I told the people on reception (who were invariably friendly and helpful) and they said they would look into it. A very good stay! Very much enjoyed my stay. It was close to Hallgrimskirkja and further northwest you had the cool/trendy bars etc. Quiet street with a nice bakery only 2 min walk away in case you don't get breakfast there, otherwise food in the restaurant is good, if not a little pricy. "Great Location, Fantastic Staff."
Booked this Hotel from the reviews on this site and was not disappointed. It is a lovely comfy hotel with a real charm of its own. The room (junior suite) was well appointed with a balcony and great views over Reykjavik. Close to all the restaurants, bars and sights. It is situated down a quiet residential street a five minute walk from the city centre. […] The bar was cosy and always the right place to finish the evening with a nightcap. Could'nt speak highly enough of the staff, all were friendly and helpful with excellent customer service. From advising on eating/drinking venues to keeping a packed lunch in their fridge overnight ready for an early start the next day. The manager Snorri even helped arrange a sightseeing flight before we had even arrived. Iceland is a great place to visit and our stay at the Hotel Holt added to what was a great experience. "A Hotel with a Soul."
My wife and I have had a wonderful stay at The Holt Hotel. The whole place was full of character and charm. The staff were all very helpful which made our stay very memorable for us. We had breakfast every morning with a choice to please most. We also had a wonderful meal with wine in the restaurant, which I can honestly say was the best I've ever tasted. […] Martin, our waiter, was most attentive and not a detail was missed. I would have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel to anyone looking for a Hotel with what I would call a soul, and it became part of the whole experience of staying in Iceland. My trip to Iceland was virtually on a whim - and I don't think I could have picked a better hotel even if I had researched it for weeks. My stay was flawless from check-in to check-out. "Fantastic Stay"
My husband and I have just returned from 8 days in Iceland staying at Hotel Holt. We both felt that the hotel was fantastic and that staying here was a major part of a great "Iceland experience". We particularly enjoyed the art work (ask to see the book behind the desk which has a couple of chapters in English in it) - to be able to see major Iceland […] artists like Kjarval hanging in the bar and restaurant each day was fantastic, and folk art of Icelandic landscapes in the bedrooms and public areas certainly makes a nice change from the usual ikea type stuff you get! I was pregnant and the hotel restaurant and bar were really accommodating and helpful regarding food. Reception were very informative regarding tours, booking them and pointing out discount vouchers that we might not otherwise have seen. Breakfast was fine - plenty of choice etc - I have to be honest and say we only ate it once as it was not included in our room rate and we tended to prefer a cafe 5 minutes walk away - thereby saving our money for dinner in the restaurant which was exceptional! "beautiful boutique hotel"
it was a great find! not only was the hotel beautiful, we loved the warm feeling of it. the staff was incredibly kind and helpful, as well. we ended up arriving very early - more than 8 hours before checking, and the gentleman at the desk not only offered us complimentary breakfast, but had a room ready for us within a couple of hours. it was a wonderful […] welcome and great way to start our trip! we were there for a full week in one of their suites, which was spacious and comfortable enough to call 'home'. when we go back, we will definitely stay here. "A pleasant stay for a week"
This was my first visit to Iceland, and I picked Hotel Holt based on price and location. After an overnight flight, the hotel staff graciously accommodated my early check-in and were helpful in many ways. My room was very quiet, clean and comfortable. The lobby was a bit dark, but I suspect that might have been to feature the many wonderful pieces of […] Icelandic art on the walls. Every member of the staff was friendly and helpful. Absolutely no complaints there. The buffet breakfast was wonderful. It was exactly the same every morning, but since it was my favorite things, I was satisfied. The associated restaurant, the Gallery, was wonderful. I ate about half my meals there, which is unusual for me to do while traveling. I will review it separately. Regarding the smell of the water - this is typical of Icelandic hot water, which is geothermal in source. It has a very slight sulfurous nose, but I became used to it in just a few days. "Comfortable stay, great location"
Hotel Holt is a little dated and the rooms could do with redecoration, but the location is perfect, the service is impeccable, the breakfast buffet is awesome. "Very Nice Hotel, but rooms were small."
The hotel was really nice and the location was very good. We were a short walk from downtown and The Pond. I did find our room to be a bit small, even by European standards. My wife went out for most meals. We had breakfast at the hotel one day and it was a very good buffet, but since we both have light breakfasts, we went to the bakery a block away […] the other days. "Great place, great location"
This was a great place to stay. It is quiet and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It's an easy walk to all the things you'd like to see in Reykjavik and it's also around the corner from the bus station. The one bummer was that the wireless signal was not very strong in my room - almost non-existent. So, I had to use my laptop in the bar […] or the lobby where it worked great. My husband and I stayed one night before our flight back home. There are two things I would recommend bringing with you, ear plugs and an eye shade. I would note that the main issues I had with this hotel are more a product of the city and not necessarily their specific property. In the Summer, you keep some windows open to allow air in, unfortunately […] it also allows all of the street noise in and this is a VERY late town with the last bars closing at 5:00 am. Unfortunately, there was no fan to create any sort of white noise to drown it out. The other issue is in order to block the evening light, you have to close your shades, thereby blocking air flow so it gets a bit hot.The hotel itself was a bit dated but had some charm to it and the front desk clerk was very helpful. All of the staff at Hotel Holt were incredibly helpful, recommending and booking excursions and even advising on the need to use conditioner in your hair at the Blue Lagoon to avoid it frazzling.
