Hotel Argosy - Dubrovnik

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt im Hotel Argosy in sehr schöner Erinnerung. Das Zimmer (zum Innenhof) war groß, hell und auch im Hochsommer bei ausgeschalteter Klimaanlage angenehm kühl. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und wir fühlten uns sehr gut aufgehoben. Von der Restaurantterasse und dem Poolbereich hat man einen tollen Blick über […] die Bucht vor dem Hafen. Der Pool ist ideal zum Abkühlen aber eher weniger geeignet für Bahnenschwimmer. Der Bereich um den Pool ermöglicht es auf einer Wiese oder auch unter Bäumen zu liegen. Die Strände sind innerhalb 5-7 Minuten zu erreichen. Die Altstadt ist gut erreichbar per Bus der beim Hotel seine Endstation hat. Generell scheinen viele Kreuzfahrttouristen 1 oder 2 Nächte in diesem Hotel zu verbringen, es gibt eher weniger Familien mit Kindern. Wir haben eine Woche im Argosy verbracht und fanden eine perfekte Balance zwischen Ruhe und Möglichkeiten die kulturellen Schätze der Umgebung zu erkunden. Mehr

Wir verbrachten 5 Nächte in diesem Hotel und waren sehr zufrieden. Das Pessonal war imer freundlich und hilfsbereit, die Zimmer sauber, das Frühstücksbuffet reichhaltig. Die Lage ist sehr schön zum Erholen, mit tollem Blick, trotzdem hat man eine gute Anbindung an die Stadt mit dem Bus, der alle 10 Minuten fährt, bis 1 Uhr nachts. Für uns war dort alles OK - das Hotel ist besser als die drei Sterne. Sehr freundliches Personal, auch das Essen (Frühstücksbuffet inkl.; 2x Abendbuffet Selbstzahler) frisch, professionell und sogar recht liebevoll zubereitet. Staff friendly and helpful. The hotel is not new, but is in good condition and has wonderful views from the room balcony. One of the best things about the hotel was the location. On the coast with lovely views, local beaches (not sandy) and a short (15 min) bus ride to the Old Town. Buses were 2 mins walk away and every 15 mins or so. On the downside, it is very much a hotel used by people on coach trips, spending a few days here and there. Therefore every day had lots […] of people arriving and leaving en masse at morning and evening times, or going on day trips. We were on B&B, but otherwise dinner was buffet style which would not be good for a longer stay. The Argosy is part of a hotel group of 4/5 hotels in the area, all built at the same time in non-descript style (concrete). But, it was very enjoyable and staff were pleasant and helpful. After reading some of the less than complimentary descriptions on trip advisor, we found the hotel to be fantastic. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and even upgraded our room for free. The cleaners were brilliant and no matter what time of the day we left our room it […] was always clean when we got back. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and airy with good air conditioning and nice bathrooms. You have everything you need for a holiday abroad. The restaurant provided some excellent food. The chefs cook omelettes, pancakes, bacon and eggs in front of you and there is fresh bread and a huge selection of food to choose from. We only ate in the restaurant once in the evening but the food was great. Again, there was a huge selection, good wine and the staff are very friendly. The only complaint we would have is that the pool area closes at 6pm, which is fine, but this also included the area behind the pool which had lovely views. All of the sun loungers were collected in and so there was no where to sit. The bar area is still open but unfortunately this didn't have the benefit of the views. Easy access to Dubrovnik Old Town via frequent bus service. Swimming pool too cold to use as shaded from sun but Coppacabana beach nearby & sea warm. Enjoyed entertainment at hotel when Markos performed.

I had a great holiday here. This hotel is Ideal if you want to combine a sun holiday with a city break as it's 15 minutes by bus to Dubrovnik. Buses run every ten minutes to Dubrovnik and back until 3 in the morning. The hotel is close to Copacabana beach. The rooms are nicely furnished and well maintained. I really recommend this hotel. It has great location that it is very close to some beaches (5 min walking distance) and aslo 6 km to old dubrovnik. There is bus station 2 min far away to hotel and there is bus every 10 min to dubrovnik.(bus no:6) Hotel has great open buffet breakfast that i think everybody enjoy. Overall the Argosy is a good hotel. Service was good, staff helpful, location nice. Only small thing was the bed was a little hard! Balcony view was nice. Food was decent but not spectacular - could do with proper orange juice! Overall i would have no problem recommending the hotel.

LOCATION Some people on these review boards have complained about the location. It is located about 3 miles out of Dubrovnik town. There is free parking on site for those with a car but for those without a taxi worked out at around £7.50 each way or there was a bus stop at the end of the hotel drive (took 2 min to get there from reception). There are […] frequent buses to the Pile Gate and a bus an hour to the bus station. The bus journey lasted 15 min. There were buses nearly every 5 min in August. Stayed 2 nights in Aug 2012, most guests seem to be with package tours. Breakfast and Dinner was good, plenty of choice, not too crowded, but food was never piping hot. WIFI is free but won't stay connected for long periods, Internet PCs in lobby are chargeable. Staff very helpful, high quality cars used for airport transfer at 30 Euro each way. The hotel itself was quite large, and was situated with other hotels and resorts on the top of a hill in the region of Babin Kuk, where the hotel's restaurant, grounds and several rooms took in fantastic views of the Adriatic Sea. 80s’ style hotel that’s been well maintained. Good pool area and a wide choice at breakfast, however the buffet dinner is very disappointing and there is no a la carte menu. Hotel parking is a problem in the high season. There seems to be a number of reserved spots that are never uses. These need to be made available to guests.

We were very happy at the hotel- friendly staff, clean room, great breakfast, lovely pool and very near the beach. Great value. The only problem was loud music on one of the nights from a nearby restaurant until around midnight. We complained and the following night the music was not so loud.

No real complaints but hotel was no better than average, could do with some modernisation and pool mostly under cover for some reason. Air conditioning wasn't brilliant either which is a downside in Dubrovnik in July!

It was in a good location, a bus ride away from the centre but with a enough in the local area which means you don't have to travel in all the time. The staff are friendly and attentive without being over baring. I paid extra for a room with a balcony, looking at it most of the rooms will have some sort of outside space and the balcony never got the […] sun on it at the right time and due to trees there wasn't really a view from the balcony so a waste of the extra money really. The room was spacious and clean although I did have a problem with hot water, I complained and someone was sent up straight away although they did not exactly remedie it, the result was that I had to run the hot water for 30 minutes before I wanted a shower so that it was just warm enough. The breakfast was great and the pool area nice, no problems with getting sun loungers. All in all I would recommend this hotel. Mehr

This hotel is okay at best... it is about 15-20 minutes to the old town via bus 6, which is nice, but it is also a pain as the buses are usually very crowded, especially in the evenings. It does have access to a very nice rocky beach, which was nice. The breakfast was good and the bed/bathroom were fine, but nothing more than average. Nice hotel, very friendly service, very clean rooms, rich breakfast, night bar, however hotel was build in 70is and rooms are rather small. The location is a few miles from the city center but there is a convenient bus line just in front of the hotel. Overall, it was a good experience.

This hotel deserves more than its 3 star rating. It is in a lovely quiet location with a few bars and restaurants local to the hotel. The bus to Dubrovnik old town is very convenient. The food in the hotel was very good and very reasonably priced.

Our room was very clean and the hotel staff were very helpful. We were staying under a b&b basis and the buffet was of a high standard with lots of choice. You […] can have the dinner buffet if you want but this costs 149 kuna each but again the choice and quality of food is great. Try the Komin Restaurant near the hotel as that is good and cheaper. The bus to Dubrovnik is really easy and the hotel is at the end of the line so you cant miss your stop when you come home. It is busy in the morning but if you go to the Old Town then you will hit the crowds from all the cruises that arrive daily and we found it much more relaxing to go later in the afternoon and then stay for dinner in the evening as the cruise crowds have left by then. We were a bit dissappointed by Dubrovnik itself so do try and go on day trips - the one to Mostar in Bosnia is good and we did this through the hotel. If you go to Montenegro try and avoid Budvar as it is awful and tacky! The hotel pool area is quite small but we could always get a sunbed but try the nearby Copacabana beach which is lovely. A lot of tour groups stay at the hotel for short periods and 90% of the guests are pensioners so bear this in mind if you are young and looking for a more active holiday - it didnt bother us as we just wanted to relax! It was only 15 minutes to the city centre by bus so the location has an ideal balance between access to the city, while also being located in a relaxing environment beside the sea. Peaceful, the hotel have lots of things to do. It's easy to get to old town center with the bus and there is some markets and restaurant near by. You can take a walk in the parks at night around the hotel. Generally there are alot of EU tourists who stay at this hotel.

The hotel facilities are more than adequate, with a decent size pool and plenty of space to relax both inside and outside the hotel. Hotel on the opposite side from town, but # 6 bus comes right ti the door and goes right to old city so no parking problem - great view of bay and really good food (brkft and dinner), be sure you have good directions to the hotel

Although the hotel was a little way out from Old town and away from the main body of bars and eateries it is in a very pleasant setting with a park just outside. Although a restaurant is nestled in this park with a couple of bars that serve snacks in the small shopping mall next door the half mile stroll along the waterside to the local restaurants […] was very pleasurable each evening. If you're not upto the walk the no 6 bus runs so frequently to take you either there or into the old town to eat. We took some lovely walks around the peninsula, but the hills are very steep so not good for the less able bodied. Only bad thing was the bus enroute to the old town mid morning - they pack you in like sardines!! Can get a bit uncomfortable. In the old town a walk around the walls is a must - but avoid oin hot weather as there's not too much shelter. The short trip upto the Napolean fort in the cable car is worth the effort. The views are stunning and the small museum with its war memorabillia and video showing actual bombimg of the surrounding area, makes you appreciate all these generally happy, hardy people have come so far in such a short few years. Over all a beautiful place and well worth another visit to explore all the surrounding areas. Mehr

바빈쿡 지역이라, 올드타운 왔다갔다하기에는 버스비용 등 만만치 않음. 그리고, 공항까지 가는 버스를 타려면 다시 올드타운으로 가거나 다른 Exclusion 공항전송 패키지를 이용해야 하는데 버스 이용하려면 짐이 많은 경우 부담이 큼. 그냥 리조트 내에서 즐길거라면 괜찮다고 봄.

Med Argosys beliggenhet så sentralt i forhold til transport, opplevelse og natur / tur-muligheter kunne man ha tålt litt mindre komfort, service og bekvemmelighet. men også disse faktorene holdt mål - og vel så det.! Alt i alt : Vi var svært godt fornøyde med vårt opphold i mai 2013.
