We were greeted with pizza, beer, and muffins when we arrived, by the owner. We were treated like family, and we are already planning our next trip to Kauai. Where we would only stay at Hale Kua!

Absolutely wonderful! My husband and I celebrated my 50th birthday on Kauai and I am so glad we chose the Hale Kua. The owners were very nice. I felt I had known Cathy all my life. She is very bright and down-to-earth. What a doll! I highly recommend this quiet, secluded B&B.

The guest house was the ideal place to get away from everything and have the privacy you need. It was like a beautiful tree house tucked away on a mountain surrounded by lush foilage. The owners gave you all the privacy you needed but were available for anything you could want.

Cathy and Bill were great. The guest house was a friendly and comfortable place to stay. Not a five star but nowhere near the price. It is at the top of a steep road so a car is needed. I personally recommend this place for future people. Cathy and Bill keep up the good work

Comfortable. Spacious. Comprehensively stocked with everything we needed. Centrally located (once we found it - the only downside to this place would be if you wanted to be in the middle of the action). I would definitely return here. We used it as a base to explore the island but it would also be great if you just wanted to relax and get away.

We booked this cottage for our 10th anniversary. The private cottage was built about 20 yrs ago, but was just re-carpeted, so it feels new. It felt like having a small home at our disposal with the kitchen & family room in addition to the bedroom & bathroom. The proprietor's home is a short walk away, but they were very unobtrusive and we only saw them […] a few times. Since we were on our anniversary, that suited our needs perfectly. The property is located near Poipu. Approximately 15-20 minutes from the beach. The road up to the cottage is fairly steep and probably works best with a jeep, but our car worked as well. If you want to spend all your time at the beach and have the convenience of going back to your room frequently, this isn't the best choice for you. However, if you want to be in a very quiet neighborhood with a lot of privacy, this property is probably perfect for you. One additional thing to consider is that this cottage did not have air conditioning. The first night it was a little toasty, but the last couple nights with the ceiling fans it was comfortable. Mehr

Bill and Kathy were wonderful hosts and vey helpful. A great place to stay. We were very happy with everything. They even had boggie boards and beach mats for us to use. Thank you for a very relaxing vacation! We should have spent more time with you.

If you are expecting a hotel with room service, maid service, or walking distance to shops and restaurants, do not go there. If you want a piece of paradise, quiet, a tropical rain forest, heaven - you will definitely not be disappointed. This is a cottage in paradise. You have a full size refrigerator, microwave, convection oven, washer and dryer. […] A balcony that we used all the time to sit out on, eat and enjoy the beauty of the island. We drove to Koloa about five miles and shopped for our groceries. We had tours to go on and drive around the island to explore, but mainly just wanted to stay at the cottage. To open the windows at night and listen to the rain fall, and yes the roosters early in the morning, nothing could describe the beauty of this place. We traveled to three islands on this trip and this cottage will forever be remembered as the best place we stayed at. The owners of the cottage, Bill and Cathy were gracious hosts. Cathy baked muffins for us one morning for which we were grateful for. No question on our minds that when we return to Kauai on where we are going to stay. Mehr

We stayed at Hale Kua Guests while on our honeymoon on Kauai. The property is in the lush Lawai Valley and feels very peaceful and isolated. This place is perfect if you prefer quiet, solitude, and nature as a part of your vacation. The owners have made sure that all the comforts of home are available to their guests. They even had a bag of bananas […] from one of their trees for us when we arrived. They are friendly and helpful, but unobtrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would absolutely stay here again when we return to Kauai. Mehr

Un de nos 2 coups de coeurs durant notre sejour a Hawaii (4 iles). Pas si facile a trouver (c'est un peu dans les hauteurs) mais pas si dur non plus. Mais quel regal la-haut, un veritable appartement spacieux, tout equipé (cuisine, lave-linge, seche linge), le tout dans le calme avec une vue degagée sur les collines verdoyantes. Une hote discrete mais […] agreable. Des muffins dans le frigo. Bref aucune fausse note !!!! et en plus placé assez strategiquement pour visiter le sud de Kauai (Waimea Canyon, Kokke forest et les plages de Poipu). Je ne peux que le recommander, ma note est 7 sur 5 ;-) Mehr

Vous pensez que vous allez dans un B&B et non c'est une super villa au moins150M2 perchée, le bacon donne à la cime les arbres ,equipée de tout ce dont vous pourriez avoir besoin c'etait le paradis aucune critique n'est possible je vous conseille l'appart du 2eme etage les proprios des amours muffins excellents à votre arrivée j'ai adoré cet endroit […] envie d'y retourner encore merci à Cathy Mehr
