das Hotel hat eine Gute Lage zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten, alles zu Fuß erreichbar. Vor dem haus ist jedoch die Hauptverkehrsstraße und zum frühstücken muß mann eine ganze weile Gehen 1-2km

Das Lombard Motor Inn war für uns völlig OK. Wir waren vier Nächte dort. Unser Zimmer war sehr geräumig und hatte alles was man braucht. Auch war es sehr sauber dort. Die Möbel etc. sind zwar schon was älter, aber wer Luxus erwartet wird eh kein Motel buchen. Wir hatten ein Zimmer nach hinten raus, in dem es sehr ruhig war. Wie laut es in einem Zimmer […] zur sehr befahrenen Lombard Street ist, kann ich nicht beurteilen. Die Lage war auch völlig ok. In ca. zehn Minuten Fußweg ist man an der CableCar Haltestelle, in 15-20 Minuten am Pier 39. Wir haben eigentlich alle Wege zu Fuß zurückgelegt. Ausschlaggebend für unsere Entscheidung dort zu buchen war, dass es kostenlose Parkplätze zur Verfügung stellt. Das war echt super! Anderswo zahlt man nicht nur für die Übernachtung viiiiel mehr Geld, sondern muss noch einiges für einen Parkplatz auf den Tisch legen,. Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit unserer Entscheidung und würden wieder dort absteigen. Mehr

Lage: zentral. Fussweg zu Fishermanns Warf, Cable Car, Lombard Street, etc Sauberkeit: Hotel und Zimmer war sauber. Zimmer wurden täglich gründlich gereinigt +++: kostenloser Parkplatz, WIFI, Preis/Leistung

surrounded by crack addicts and hookers, the neighborhood sucks but the room itself was fine. nothing special but fine for a motel.

good location,nice place. nothing to fancy but good enough. I have nothing to complain about, and the lady at the front desk was very helpful in calling for cabs and answering questions about the area. clean room,clean hotel, small and quiet. Id def stay there again.

SOUNDS PETTY BUT THE TOILET PAPER WAS A VERY POOR QUALITY.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is the most unprofessional, dirtiest, over priced dump I have ever stayed at. Stay away!

Your basic motor hotel in very convenient location (IF you have a car, otherwise walking is so-so). Front desk staff attitude is hit or miss----oddly, was the nicest at check-out but very ambivalent upon check in while dealing with a room issue and a re-assignment. Overall, okay. We were in room 205, the toilet a wall mount style is loose and should be checked

At first, we felt that we were getting great value for the money. All seemed to be fine until I noticed the filthy base boards in the bathroom. I'm sure they hadn't been wiped down for months. Other than that, our stay was good.

Nice clean room. Affordable. Close to Fisherman's Wharf and bus line. Only negative point is busy street noise.

Front desk persons very helpful. Easy access to many of San Francisco sites. Room decor older but comfortable. Price excellent. Would stay again. If the noise on Lombard Street bothers ask for a room towards the back of the building. No noise to speak of.

We really liked the location...we were able to walk to all the local attractions on the Wharf (appreciated the free parking) and the mini-market just around the corner safed us a small fortune on our food bill. However, we noticed we were lucky to get a room with a 'view' out the window...most of the windows faced directly into another building. We'ld […] love to return!! Mehr

Nice and large hotel rooms. Quite a lot of noice from cars on Lombard Street and from the other rooms. Within walking distance from Fishermans Warf etc. The staff was very helpful.

Asked for "quiet room" and were placed along the street. It was horrible. My husband was going fishing the next morning and neither of us slept "at all." Next morning needed coffee bad. Pot didn't work. Hair dryer didn't work. Lobby gal did not apologize as "good customer service" dictates. She said I should have called for new pot (yea, at 4:30 a.m.). […] Af far as noise she said I should have called the hotel directly if I wanted a "quiet area." She gave me all this good info for next time. LOL! It would have been nice if she just would have validated my issues and said something like "I'm so sorry you encountered these problems and we will work to provide a better stay next time." Mehr

As all hotels in San Francisco, this is overpriced. It also has few amenities. It was close to where we wanted to be and not as expensive as others. I might try spending a little more next time to get a better place.

Motor Inn was worn but clean. I booked this room because of no parking fee, a great benefit and reasonable cost for location . The bed was comfortable enough for a good nights rest which was the main purpose of the room. We walked to the wharf each day. Coming back to our room was a up hill climb but not too bad.

The front desk clerk was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, just a bit older. If you room is adjacent to Lombard, it is pretty loud. Overall good experience and the free parking is great!

found a pair of dirty thong underwear by the dresser told them when checking out all they said iam sorry about that. If the thongs were missed how do i know the room was really cleaned ... Thats just dirty and house keeping being lazy ..

This hotel is older but clean and the staff was very nice. It is walking distance from Fisherman's Wharf etc. There are also restaurants/diners right near by. The parking is free and we had no problem getting a space. There is nothing fancy about this hotel, but it was exactly what we needed- a place to sleep! I would definitely stay here again!!!

We enjoyed the location of this hotel (we wanted to be near cable cars and downtown area) but it's definitely in a 1-2 star "hotel row" area. The rooms were serviceable, but not something I want to remember -- some of the items we had issues with could probably have been fixed (broken and, separately, non-functioning lamps) if we'd been staying long […] enough for it to become an issues, while other not-so-great aspects aren't really readily fixable (ice machine immediately outside room, very thin walls/door/windows, busy intersection, less than great beds, peeling wall paper, far outdated TVs, bathroom light that required time to heat up before it lit the room, etc). Free parking was a major reason we chose the hotel. Price paid was acceptable. Staff was very helpful on more than one occasion during our very brief stay. Pros: location, free parking, staff, and cost. Cons: quality of construction and condition/maintenance of rooms. Verdict: we would Lombard Motor Inn to someone looking for accommodations in the area at a decent rate with need for parking -- IF that person would be amenable to staying in a mediocre 2 star hotel. street noise wastoo loud. good neighborhood. Golo Cafe ~a block away was a great place to eat breakfast. But the sliding glass doors to the balcony overlooking Lombard St. let in WAY too much street noise.

No frills, nothing fancy, but a clean and comfortable hotel for a short stay. Plenty of parking, good surrounding area, walking distance to Fishermans's Wharf and $8 for a cab to Chinatown. For a three day stay to see the sights this was a good deal.

nice staff, great locatation, only a few blocks from the warf, room was clean, & most of all FREE PARKING!!

This hotel was ideal for the price. We ended up paying over the odds, but there was a conference on in San Fran whilst we were there and this was one of the only places with reasonably priced rooms compared to the others. We were late checking in because of our flights, but they were waiting for us, so that was fine. It’s only about 20 min walk from […] the centre and its on the bus route. It’s basic, clean a bit dated but you get what you pay for, you cannot grumble for the price. As some of the reviews say you are best to ask for a room at the back of the hotel. We didn’t ask but I had read the reviews so I took my ear plugs. The windows are quite thin and you can hear the traffic at night, but nothing my ear plugs didn’t solve! There is no breakfast but most places don’t have breakfast in San Fran so it’s not unusual, and there are so many places nearby you can go. Pick up one of the City Guide things to get a list of places offering discounts. They have free parking too, but we didn’t use this. Get one of the shuttle taxis from the airport these are nearly as quick as a normal taxi and cheaper, especially for 1 person. Would defo stay here again if we went back. Advice - Book Alcatraz in advance as it fills up quickly and it’s the same price when you get there. Also don’t underestimate the street maps, remember the hills, we got caught out a few times thinking it was a short distance, but infact it was up a big hill then back down the other side! Enjoy. On one of the busiest streets in the city, so be prepared for some traffic noise but not overly offensive. Our rooms were very roomy, comfortable and clean.No fridge or microwave but ice and coffee machine available. No breakfast supplied but great eateries nearby.Undercover parking free which is a huge bonus in the city.Walked and caught public transport […] using our Muni passes. Mehr

Good location close to the wharf, walking distance (after a few drinks) friendly staff, clean rooms, easy access...

Even the window closed, the car noise was so loud.

The hotel was within walking distance to the Wharf and pier and all the surroundings. We walked a lot!!! Liked the fact that the parking was free and the hotel was not full so when we returned from the airport half way thru our stay, we still had choices for parking.

Great room, lousy customer service. They gave the attitude that we were intruding on (whatever) he was doing by just checking in!

The place is very convenient, a walking distant to Lombart CR street, Pier 39. Street can be noisy, but after you walked around, who can hear more, we were too tired, fell asleep good. The hallway can be really warm, after walking in the cold air, warm can be soothing. I'll go back there. Please steam the room carpet.

Small property, reasonably priced for the neighborhood. The housekeeping was quirky, e.g., a 3/4 consumed cup of coffee wasn't removed when the room was cleaned. Rooms facing the street were noisy, but manageable. I would return.

Please do not stay at this hotel. We had a room facing Lombard street, because no back rooms were available. The sliding patio window was single pane. EVERY car which passed through the night was heard loud and clear inside the room. Neither my husband nor I got much sleep. When I complained to the front desk, their reply was to book the room next time […] directly with them, and request a back room. I will never stay there again, and advise you to do the same. Mehr

We actually stayed at two different hotels while we were in San Francisco, with this being the second hotel that was on our dime. We chose the Lombard Motor Inn after reading reviews and reviewing prices of various motels in San Francisco. We knew we wanted something close to the pier area and this was within walking distance for us. We felt very safe […] and I was satisfied with the staff and the room. It was a plain Jane no frills hotel but we slept well and would go back. We slept on the back side of the hotel (away from Lombard). We ate at a cafe for breakfast one block over which was reasonable and opened early enough for our needs (7:00 a.m.). Mehr

This was my first time in California and wanted to stay at a convenient location, but was on a tight budget. This hotel was great and all the other reviews I read prior to booking the room were pretty accurate. I used the reviews to make my decision on a hotel. I wanted to leave my review to help others. The prices are very high in San Fran and things sell out quickly. This being my first trip I was very clueless and nervous about where to stay and where I was located in regards to where I wanted to go. This hotel is very reasonably priced- the rooms are clean, […] the location is great. 5 min drive to wherever you want to go. You will have to walk far to get to any of the surrounding attractions- so I really needed my car or a cab. You are very close to everything but it is hilly. The staff helped with thier maps and directions. Parking is limited- we did not have a space one night-but they made one for us and we left them our car keys. You dont spend much time in the room so ammenties arent a priority. It was clean and served us well. BoBo's across the street is amazing for dinner. You must go there!!! It is noisy on the street side but by the end of the day you are so tired with the door closed it isnt an issue- Not being allowed to smoke on the balcony kind of sucked but a plus for nonsmokers. They dont have a vending machine for water on site so we used the store right next door to the garage. I would recommend this hotel and stay there again. Mehr
