"Schöner Aufenthalt mit kleinem Mangel"
Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 21. Feb. 2013Wir waren für drei Tage im Hampton Inn & Suites. Das Hotel scheint noch nicht so alt zu sein und unser Zimmer war schön eingerichtet. Die Größe des Zimmers war dem amerikanischen Standard entsprechend recht groß. An der Sauberkeit gibt es nichts zu mäkeln, es war einfach sauber. Ausgestattet war das Zimmer mit einem LCD-Fernseher und einer Ladestation für Geräte, die über USB-Kabel zu laden sind (iphone, ipad, etc.). Die vorhandene Bilder im Zimmer passten sehr gut zu Savannah und sorgten für eine angenehme Atmosphäre. Das Frühstück war gut und reichhaltig. Negativ sind uns folgende Sachen aufgefallen: kein Kühlschrank, kein Safe und das W-LAN war eine Katastrophe (sehr, sehr langsam). Besonders unverständlich war uns, wie in einem recht neuen Hotel so eine Klimaanlage eingebaut werden konnte. Obwohl wir nachts unsere Klimaanlage ausgestellt hatten, konnten wir die Klimaanlage des Nachbarzimmers hören, als wäre unsere angeschaltet (verglichen mit anderen Hotels). Fazit: lediglich die laute Klimaanlage ließe uns überlegen dieses Hotel nicht noch einmal zu buchen.

"Altstadt zu Fuß zu erreichen"

Das Haus liegt an einer vilebefahrenen Straße, die Fenster sind allerdings gut isolierend. Nach hinten ist der Blick auf einen Parkplatz ok, in den höheren Etagen ist der Flußblick allerdings zu empfehlen. Frühstück im Hotel ist gut, weil amerikanisch - und daher zu empfehlen.

"Needed maintenance"
We arrived late at night and had a young daughter that needed to get to sleep and the smoke alarm kept chirping and the toilet was running and the air conditioner was exceptionally loud. We went down and got a new battery for the smoke alarm and my husband had to put it in, maintenance was not there in the middle of the nightl. It still was beeping […] so my husband disconnected it and took it up to the front desk. Room was quiet adequate. Good value for price. Rooms have window heat/air with variable control knobs which make it difficult to get exact temperature. Clothes hanger area is open with no doors. the hotel is basically across the street from a paper mill which has the smell of sewage off and on throughout our 2 day stay. Also, our room smelled like a combination of ammonia and cat urine. when i made the front desk clerk aware, he stated that he would take care of it while we were out sight seeing. when we came back there were to carpet/air filters […] in the room which were very loud and once removed, the room still smelled although not as bad. we were never offered a different room. next time we will pay the exta money to stay closer to the historic downtown district! we were leaving before the 6:00, so i was not expecting to get the breakfast, to my suprise they had it ready at 5:45, plesant suprise. the room was clean, it was easy to get to historic savanna. don't be put off by the older strip mall next door, or the train track across the street or all the big trucks going by, we never heard any noise. was suprised […] at how nice it was for the price. would stay there again! We had a really good stay on our trip to Savannah. The hotel is only about a ten minute drive to the Historic District. The hotel does provide a free shuttle to the Historic District which is a great convenience. The room was more than expected having a sitting area with a TV and the main TV in the sleeping area was huge. It was nice to have a suite […] room at a great price. The staff was also very nice and we had no problems. The only real improvement I would suggestion is a few more items on the breakfast bar and to leave the breakfast open until at least 10 AM. Our stay was fine; however, the young lady at the front desk was very short and not friendly at all. She did not smile at all the entire time we were there and was cold in general- did not feel welcomed at all. When I called for a couple of towels, I was told that we to hunt down house keeping to get a towel- which was ridiculous to me. "5 min to Historic Savannah! Right off the highway."

"Probably worth the detour"
Though one must travel a few miles from I-95, the rate and room combination makes it a worthwhile detour. The room and amenities are adequate as is the comfort level. "Sure it was just coincidence"
The fitness center was disappointing: Only the treadmill worked. Found a hair under our sheets; a bug on one of the beds; the ice bucket was still dirty from last stay. I was very impressed with the Baymont. The room was clean, the staff were friendly, and while the hotel is situated ~10 min from the historic district (a bit far for me), there was a convenient, free shuttle, which was great!
