Our first impression was the unfriendly comment, that she would be happy to see us return after 2pm, before the lady sent us away. When we came back a few minutes after 2pm, she enjoyed her cigarette in front of the door, then she fortunately handed us our key. Happy holiday is a great hotel. The room service was great and it is in the middle or at the most 10 min away from the main attractions such as the Farris wheel and some of the top 100 clubs at the famous Broadway, featuring clubs Malibu and senior frogs. This hotel is awful. I ended up leaving after 2 of 6 nights booked it was so bad. The hotel is very run down, in a bad neighborhood, and scary. I had to pay for another hotle so I wish I had just paid more the first time I booked. I hope you dont make the same mistake I did in booking this location.

Motel was in a great location. it was right across from a beach access, which was the south end of the Boardwalk. It was about 4 or 5 blocks from the ripleys believe it or not and about same distance from family kingdom. our room was clean but the bottom of the stove was broke, it just looked bad and dirty but the stove worked. the comode area was really […] small and the toilet paper holder fell off the wall. the beds were hard, it was like sleeping on concrete! my husband and i were both sore from the beds. it had a really nice flat screen tv. the pool was freezing, one of the people who wrked there said that the pool staid real cold all year round because it is at the back of the building but it was clean, it was only 5 feet deep. it had its pros and cons. it was very budget friendly. it had a nice new tall mini refrigerator in it. i could deal with all the things wrong with it because the price and location was so good but i will not stay here again because of the hard beds., which was 2 doubles. it was discusting and dirty. The air condition did not cool until i took out the filters which were pure dirt and then the room was still not cool enough to sleep. I requested a stove and asked about one at check in and was not granted one. The people at the desk acted like they did not care whether we were paying guest or not. We could not get any […] sleep at night because of loud cars and teenagers raising cain all night long until about 3 am in the morning. My family will never stay or book this hotel again. Location is great... within two blocks of Family Kingdom, within walking distance of The Bowery, convenience store right around the corner, and can see the beach from the balcony. I've found that people only review places that they have had a bad experience in but trust me I was here for senior week and there was a 200 person fight in the parking lot. The room was dreadful, there was a hole in the front wall of the room. You could see the sidewalk outside. It would have been helpful to have known that springbreak was still going on. Me and my wife never got any sleep because of all the yelling and screaming going on outside.

This hotel did not have anything to offer. Not even a bar of soap. Lucky I travel with my own soap. No internet or any of the little goodies like shampoo,lotion that other hotels offer. NOTHING. We had a 1st floor room with two beds. It is a very old hotel and it shows. It was what I expected for the price. Only real complaint is the carpet is kinda sticky. Hotel staff was not very helpful... They seemed bothered when we asked for things like clean towels... Housekeeping came by once in the 5 days we stayed there... We saw a cockroach in the bathroom the last day... Fridge was disgusting. Tv was broken and the hotel in general is in need of repairs.

We didn't receive any maid service at all, the first night we stayed we told them we only needed towel and we had to wait until evening because they didn't have any. We payed for 4 more nights after we arrived but had to checkout early because of sickness with one of the children, and they wouldn't refund our money even though there was lots of rooms […] available, so I know our reservation wouldn't have knocked them out of money. I personally would not stay at this Motel again. Upon entering the room everything was wet. Although I was given another room house cleaning did not clean room once. When asked for more linens, desk clerk took linen out of another room and stated he did not know whether the linen was clean or not. How unsanitary! Could not get more wash cloths. Motel was better than I expected. Bathroom is very small. Appeared to be clean. My only concern was that housekeeping did not pick up the dirty towels daily. However, they did bring clean towels everyday. Quiet.

I would highly recommend NOT staying at this hotel for the price paid. If you are looking for a cheap room...there are tons on main drag for half the price with cleaner rooms. The motel was convenient to the locations we wanted to visit. The rooms were fairly clean but had a few maintenance issues. The pool was not very clean so we chose not to use it. Overall it wasn't to bad.

The hotel wasn't the best but it was what u pay for, staff was very nice, the only complaint I have was the seal around are door didn't seal very well and you could hear everything that went on outside the room. It was in the best location! I would say its like a hotel for teenagers on senior trips, not really family place.

I was very worried after reading the reviews about this hotel. But being that we were on a very tight budget for this summer's vacation, I bit my tongue and crossed my fingers and reserved a room anyway. Our stay was for 4 nights. And actually overall, I have no complaints. Yes, it's old and could do with some fresh paint on the walls and new comforters, […] but my family and I slept fine and didn't feel in the least threatened of our security. The other guests were people just like you and me. I didn't see any hookers or drug dealers. My kids (17 and 19) went out on their own at night and came back safe and sound. It's actually ideally (sp?) situated being in the middle of the 'grand strand.' The area in which it is located is a couple of blocks of the cheaper hotels/motels, but directly across from it (ocean front) are still the expensive hotels. Crossing the street (Ocean Blvd) is not that bad, but I didn't have a stroller to worry about. The beds were a little hard, but we didn't hear any noise that kept us awake. The refridgerator worked fine. We didn't use the microwave. The t.v. and cable worked fine. Swimming pool was okay. They were a little skimpy on towels, but what hotel isn't? We have stayed in fancy hotels and cheap motels, and if it so happens that you're on a tight budget and want to spend more money on fun than on hotel expenses, I would say stay here if you're coming to Myrtle Beach. The room was older and rundown despite the ads that said it was renovated recently. Wallpaper was coming off the walls and bathroom had odvious repairs that needed to be made. The happy holiday motel should be demolished it was nasty. The pictures were obviously taken right when it first opened. Its in the ghetto part of the strip away from everything and it isn't even ocean front. Maybe it would be ok for some high-schoolers spring break but that's about it. The bed sreads had cigarette Burns in them and the mattress was […] rock hard. Every time I showered the bath tub would start filling up with water. The bath towels had stains on them as did the pillow cases and curtains. The refrigerator looked repulsive inside and there were chip crumbs on the floor which tells me they didn't sweep after the last person checked out. My advice is Spend The Extra Money and get a nice hotel Mehr

Before I booked this hotel, I read the reviews, and thought, even if it is not perfect, I can stay there for two days. It is close to the ocean, but you have to cross the street to get to the beach. Not an easy task when carrying a baby. Our room was on the third floor, not stinky, and filthy. Then, in the middle of the night, someone thought our room […] was theirs, and proceeded to try and enter our room. They didn't figure out they were at the wrong room for quite a long time. The walls are paper thin, so be prepared to hear everything. Please read this and beware. We ended up leaving after our first night because of the atmosphere. Aweful, old, shower was gross, tv was not working correctly, garbage truck came at 6:30am and was extremely loud and my truck bumper was hit in the parking lot. Wouldn't stay there again.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was nice for the price i paid. Location was right in the middle of everything. I would tell friends to stay here if they are looking for a room room at a fair price.
