Really kind breakfast staff ! great variety and very cool place to stay!

I was very pleased with my stay. The bed was comfortable. The furnishings had a lot of character. The staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was lovely. Highly recommend to others.

Good value - clean & comfortable .-- surrounding neighborhood little rough around the edges . Would stay there again next time visiting my son at DU .

Spent two nights at The Priory last week for business travel. What a great find! The room was HUGE and beautifully decorated. Very cozy and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was over the top. Delicious selections that are not the norm. The best thing about this hotel was the staff. They just can't do enough for you. Very friendly! A stand out […] above the rest was Deana, tha bartender in "Monk's Bar". Every hotel should be so lucky to have people like this working in their establishment. The pub is tiny, and because of this, we were able to meet other travelers from all over - most of whom were repeat guests at this hotel. We will be back. Great experience. Mehr

First time visitor to a nearby hospital (allegheny general) and I was surprised at how close the Pryory was to it. Easy walking distance. But the area is a skeevy, so women - bring your men. I didnt have any bad experiences and felt safe enough but I'm 245lb and street urchins don't usually approach me. However the hotel is awsome. My wife would love […] it. My mom would love it. They have a tiny little bar that serves sandwhichs - mine was excellent . Breakfast was simple, in the style of a European buffet but with a smaller selection but you can't beat the ambience. It's a lovely hotel, but the neighbourhood isn't and I couldn't honestly recommend it to anyone without a car.

I was very pleased with the hotel and it's location was great. l was able to walk to everything. The service was excellent, and l especially liked the breakfast service.

It is an inn made from an old priory and so the rooms are a little smaller, but done well. You will not find a better free breakfast. You can walk on a nice day to downtown, it is just accross the bridge,but they will drive you as well. Excellent.

This hotel is a gem. The architecture is gorgeous.

We just stayed overnight and were not at the hotel itself for very long, but the hotel was beautiful. Our room was really nice. The neighborhood didn't seem the nicest but we felt safe in the hotel. There was free parking which was nice and it was a great location in terms of convenience for driving (it was really close to the highway). While the neighborhood is a bit rough, the hotel is a delight. We were warmly and professionally welcomed upon arrival. The hotel provides well-lit, safe parking very close (across the street). The hotel is charming; our room was pleasant and we were happy to find windows that we could open. Even though it is close to the expressway, the noise is minimal […] and we both slept well with an open window. The breakfast in the refectory (a lovely room with windows out into a large patio area with tables, chairs, and trees in bloom) was delicious and satisfying. Great /accomodating staff, very historical but well maintained rooms. Fantastic location which is whithin walking distance to landmarks. Great experience over all!

A nice, little hotel with character and an interesting history. Since the location is near downtown, it did not take long to drive to any restaurant. The hotel was within easy walking distance to the river and walking paths.

The entire staff were kind and helpful, providing my daughter and I with detailed directions for dinner options. The location was very convenient to all of the sites we wanted to see. The rooms were extremely clean and ornate. You could really tell the history of the hotel by walking around and looking at the artwork and artifacts of the old monastary. […] Would stay there again. I travel a lot for business and always look for value. The Priory hits the mark! Would recomend this historic hotel to any of my friends

This is a beautiful old hotel that is completely updated. It has 12 to 15’ ceilings, and great décor throughout the hotel. The morning breakfast was a very nice selection of fresh muffins, fruit, yogurt, Bagels and different meats along with coffee and juice. The only down side is that it is on the outskirts of the city in a medium to low end residential […] area, but I suggest you overlook that and stay at this place it is really nice. Mehr

We recently stayed in room 309 (March 13-15) The room was small but had charm and character. It would have been helpful to have a couple of small tables in the room and less seating . There were spaces for 4 people to sit but realistically there was only space in the room for 2 people.(also an extra shelf in the bathroom would have been helpful) I had […] a hard time getting organized with the limited surface space to put things down. Otherwise the hotel was beautiful and the staff were helpful. I would love to return in the summer when the back patio has the fountain and the gardens are in bloom! Great proximity ro downtown! I really enjoyed my stay at the Priory Hotel in Pittsburgh. The room was very clean, the style is very cute/homey and their is a unique history behind the Priory. They offer a great continental breakfast with many healthy Items such as fresh fruit and yogurt, however, for the ones that like the not so healthy... they also offer that, i.e. glazed pastries, […] bacon & sausage. One word of advice, The hotel has a driver that can take you to the airport, but you have to ask for it specifically!! When I walked to the front desk and asked if they could call me a taxi because I need to get to the airport the employee didn't mention they had a shuttle service?!?! While I was waiting for my taxi another patron of the hotel walked up and asked for the shuttle driver to take to a restaurant. I then walked up to the desk and said, "You have a shuttle and didn't mention that to me when I asked for a taxi?" I waited over 45 minutes for my taxi and narrowly made my plain. Mehr

This old world charm hotel is tucked away beside the riverfront. The staff is helpful and the rooms are classic with a wonderful touch of class. After a busy day, you will appreciate the serenity that The Priory offers.

Very well pleased . . . it made for a special get away . . . excellent in every way . . . . will definitely return

My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and in great condition. The former church and parsonage was transformed into a very comfortable hotel and grand hall. The location was pretty convenient, being only a few blocks away from PNC Park.

If you like small European style hotels this is a real find in Pittsburg. It is small, comfortable, friendly, intimate, clean and convenient.

This is a great option if you need a hotel close to the Benedum Center and are looking for a inexpensive stay. The city inn style accommodation are very comforting and I had a great time. Staff was very friendly, and I would stay again.

As a single girl from Chicago I found that The Priory Hotel was the perfect place for a quick weekend away. My room was perfect for one, and quaintly decorated. The staff was friendly and accommodating. If you are looking for a very charming hotel full of history and excellent staff then The Priory is the place to go. Not necessarily anywhere you would want to spend much time in, but if you're visiting the universities and want a nice room with historical flavor, an absolute no-brainer. Helpful staff, nice historic touches. Go for it.

You can almost hear the swishing fabric from the nuns and monks of times past. The high ceiling and immensity of the place is worth the visit alone. My room #208 had no desk to work from and the wifi only worked in the lobby area. Bummer. Had the weather been better I would have walked into the Cultural District. Sure there are folks waiting by the […] bus stop, but I did not feel uncomfortable with the surrounding area, which is right across from many of the theater attractions. Mehr

I stayed at this hotel with my husband after coming into town for a Penguins game. The hotel staff was very nice and pleasant. I accidently made the reservation online for one person. When we arrived, the man at the front desk was concerned that our room would be too small. It wasn't small at all and perfect for two people. The location was great and […] we enjoyed the continental breakfast. I thought this was a great hotel if you want to break away from the major chains. We stayed one night at the Priory for Valentine's Day and a show at Heinz Hall. What a beautiful hotel! We checked in early and found parking right across the street. Our room was meticulously clean, the hotel facility is very newly renovated with lovely interior decor. Staff were pleasant and attentive. The drive to Heinz Hall was barely four minutes, […] so highway access to downtown is great. Our only complaint was coming home late in the evening, we got lost in the neighborhood around the hotel which was quite unsavory. Then, there was no parking in the designated lot for guests, so we had to park on the street. We had a nice quiet night, and then we were awakened by the smell of sausage cooking for the free continental breakfast. Best wake up call ever! All in all, I enjoyed The Priory very much and would recommend it to others visiting Pittsburgh. Mehr

My husband and I got away for 2 days without the kids and had a GREAT time. The staff was great and the location was fine. We were not scared to leave or walk the area. This is a place we will come back to many times. We now love Pittsburgh. The Steelers still suck though.

One of the best values I have seen in a very long time clean has loads of character and I would stay here again in a heartbeat.wish there were more like it.

Other than the somewhat sketchy location, this hotel was fantastic! The employees were nothing but helpful and constantly cheerful. The room was bright, clean, and comfortable. The price was right for the convenient location (so close to everything we wanted to do/see). I was a little nervous reading past reviews about the neighbourhood, but took the […] chance, and I'm glad we did! There were some homeless people living under the highway overpass, but other than seeing them, they did not bother us in any way, or ask for anything from us. As for the parking, it is just across the street and not secure, but if your room faces Pressly St., you can see the parking lot from your window. The interior of the building is beautiful. Very glad we chose this hotel, and when we return to this great city, we will definitely be staying here again! Mehr

Very cute hotel in a renovated Franciscan monastery. The rooms were nice and roomy, with touches of antiques. Staff very friendly. Small but homey bar on the first floor.

Great room but in a horrible and possibly dangerous location.

We did not walk from this hotel, and dont know that I would recommend it, but getting a cab in and out from this location was super easy. Nice little place, and they had a fire going in the lobby in the evening. Would definately stay here again!!

I love small interesting hotels, and this one fit the bill. Very friendly staff, comfortable, easy walking distance to downtown restaurants, theaters, etc. Definitely will return for future visits.

Fabulous quaint Hotel only minutes away from great restaraunts and theatres!

It was a pleasure staying at The Priory. The hotel was neatly tucked away on a city street in Pittsburgh. My room was so cozy and comfortable I didn't want to leave. The staff was friendly and pleasant. The hotel parking across the street was very convenient. The history and charm of the building is evident. Hotel has a European flavor...and very friendly staff. Short walk to a fun tavern/restaurant. Also a short walk to the Warhol Museum. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

We had a great stay in this old hotel (used to be a monastery). Front desk staff were very helpful with maps etc...Quaint and cozy bar area with fireplace, really nice breakfast and very comfortable bed. Would definitely stay there again.

The hotel overall is a great hotel but you can tell the age once you stay there. The showers need to be updated and the surrounding area is not the best in the city but I will say that the rooms are quiet and comfy. The front desk was very helpful and the entire hotel was very clean. Overall we were happy but would stay somewhere a bit closer to the […] warehouse district if we returned. Mehr
