The Mimosa Hotel - Miami Beach

Wir haben im Hotel 12 Nächte verbracht. Das Hotel liegt direkt am Strand. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und gemühtlich. Wir haten einen großen Flatscreen-TV und eine kleine Kitchenette mit Mikrowelle und Kühlschrank. Unser Zimmer hatte Aussicht auf den Pool und den Strand und Meer. In unmittelbarer Umgebung gibt es diverse sehr gute Restaurants (Normans, […] Cuban Cuisine, Little Brasil etc.) als auch Einkaufsmöglichkeiten für den täglichen Bedarf (Walgreens). Insgesamt ist es keine Party-Gegend, was uns auch sehr wichtig war. Gleich nebenan gibt es einen Fahrradverleih mit einer automatischen Station. Das hat super funktioniert und war sehr praktisch. Ein Auto hatten wir zeitweise geliehen, das wir aber nicht im Hotel geparkt hatten (18 USD pro Tag) sondern nebenan auf dem öffentlichen Parkplatz mit Parkschein zwischen 08:00 und 18:00 Uhr. Aber das steht man ja nicht lange und somit mussten wir nur 2 x von 08:00 bis 10:00 - 1 USD pro Stunde zahlen. Das spart doch einiges. Der Strand ist super sauber. Handtücher für den Strand und den Pool gibt es an der Rezeption. Wir würden wieder buchen. Mehr

Durch die direkte Strandlage guter Ausgangspunkt für das morgendliche Sonnenbad, die Jogging- oder Fahrradtour. Nachmittags ein Ausflug zum Art Deco Viertel oder in eines der vielen Shopping-Centers und v.a.m. Wenige Meter vom Hotel entfernt gibt es einen Walgreen (Esswaren, Pharma und Kosmetik), Pizza-Hut und weitere Restaurants.

I have mixed feelings about my stay. The good things- friendly employees, clean room, convenient location, nice pool, and we were right on the beach. The not so good things- construction right next door that was loud, paper thin walls; I could hear my neighbors, but they were also very loud/drunk and I didn't call and complain. Small rooms, lots of noise from the traffic. Staff hardly spoke English, and the pool was FILTHY. Never again.

The room was nice and clean, but, there were problems. They had central A/C that we couldn't control, so it was too cold until we closed most of the vents. They had a washcloth shortage apparently so half the days we didn't get a washcloth, on top of that the two people that I talked to about it didn't know what the word "washcloth" meant. The window […] rattled when it was windy because the glass was loose. The window unit A/C made dripping noise, perhaps because of the A/C unit right above it. The toilet wouldn't flush all the way. A spa? There's a spa one a block and a half away! Pictures in the advertising? From another decade. Drinks and prices advertised in the rooms? They were 6.50 on a glossy ad in the room but they charge 7.50 at the small front bar. Want to talk to the manager? He's not in today. You have to pay for parking. 18 dollars a day. If you leave for the evening, […] your spot is rented to patrons of local bars and restaurants. Leave your keys and we'll find a spot in the morning. Nothing as advertised! Mehr

I don't know that I would stay at the Mimosa again, simply because the platform bed about killed my back. That's no blem on the hotel, I just don't sleep well on that sort of bed. We felt the room was a fair deal for the money given the wonderful location and surrounding amenities. Also, our room had an adjoining door to the next room and you could hear every single word and breath our neighbor's took! Not a very private hotel. Overall, it's a quaint place and served us well. The inside of this hotel is great, very clean. Nice rooms with all amenities. If you are planning on doing work and not going outdoors, this is your place.... HOWEVER, the pool area is not as nice as it looks in the pictures, it is small and claustrophobic. The cabana furniture is filthy and needs to be cleaned. The beach is terrible for Miami, it is […] very small, narrow, and dirty, and there are signs all over posted saying "DANGER underwater obstruction" So you should not swim there, and my children couldnt go in the water. There is MAJOR construction going on directly next door, and we had a view of dirt and machines for two days. Our coffee pot was broken, they sent a man who didnt speak English to come help us. It was difficult trying to tell him what we needed. The staff was not helpful when we requested a new room due to terrible view. Very disappointed with the Mimosa, and will NEVER return or recommend to anyone. Not worth it. There is NO place to park when you pull in the check in, and you have to pay $18 to use the lot across the street. Breakfast is NOT included, they wanted us to pay $5 for a yogurt! Also, there are wild cats all over this place, and they were drinking from the pool! Mehr

Its a nice boutique hotel with good interiors and comfortable rooms. Right on the beach with access to the beach and close to all the major locations including both south beach and haluover beach. I will recommend this hotel. Worth it for the price.

we arrived and there were long hairs in our sink and tub, They moved us to a better room, room was nice but bed was a twin for us , a bit small, pillows on bed were not washed ever and were placed one the pillows that were! a bit dirty on hallway carpet, and shower waterruns out into room floor! solved a a towel on the floor nest to shower! construction […] is going on right next door , but if your not a heavy sleeper no big deal! pool area nice and beach walk is beautiful! not many restuarants close, the closest is Normans and the food was cooked with old gease! no long distant calls included, and bedspread and throw pillows not clean! (normal) breakfast charges are levied and things that you thought were included are not! not a great continental breakfast for 6.50 go across the street to the new york deli and get breakfast soups good, but really dirty! Hotel is directly on the beach, with Collins Ave in the front. The location is probably the only advantage. The concierge service is awful, they charged my credit card a fee, and also parking when I had no car. The charges werent removed for a full week. They are not friendly or helpful. The rooms are clean, but old and somewhat run down. They do not […] offer any beach service, and I paid $15 to rent a beach chair from another hotel. Breakfast is not included, not even coffee. You get one free mimosa upon check in, but you have to ask for it. There is loud, ongoing construction right next door. I had to request my room be changed from first to third floor. The rooms are adjoined by a door, the walls are very thin. Needless to say, I heard my neighbors showering, talking etc. I will not stay here again, Ill spend the extra money and stay somewhere with better service and amenities. I stayed at this hotel mainly because of the shopping at Bal Harbour. The hotel is about a fifteen minute taxi ride from the shopping centre and there is also a bus that takes you there directly; the stop is almost in front of the hotel. The best part of staying here by far was the walking/jogging path that is right behind the property: it's safe, clean, […] and right on front of the beach! Nothing fantastic nearby in terms of food though there is a nice sandwich place across the street which is convenient (healthy selections) and friendly. The hotel staff - mainly the front desk receptionist - was not very friendly or helpful but the interaction was minimal and therefore tolerable. The hotel room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There is a/c though it is mounted on the window -- seems like they forgot to get rid of that during the remodeling. All in all, I'd stay there again if I was looking to go back for shopping at Bal Harbour!f Mehr

Room was larger than expected. Bath was tight, but, clean and bright. Location. GREAT. Right on the beach. Miami parking nightmare. none. , the lot was right across the street. Kids like the pool. Too cold for me (Xmas), besides the beach was right there and the water was warm. Staff was friendly.

Nice small hotel, very clean with friendly staff. We stayed for 2 nights before a cruise and came back for one more night after the cruise. The pool area is really comfy and quiet.

and you had to pay for it. MCdonalds would have been a better deal in this regard. Otherwise the hotel was fine but the breakfast scenario is really bad.

Nicely located in the Miami Beach area. Took me several go-arounds to figure out where I could park. Staff was exceptional, recommended local restaurants and were generally in high spirits. Room was okay. There was no way to close my room off to the noise in the alley (dumpsters being open and shut). Fortunately, I am a sound sleeper, but this would […] have been troublesome if I did have trouble sleeping. Shower tiles were aged, but the room was fairly clean. Nothing special. Too much hassle for business travel, but maybe a good choice for a couple on a budget wanting to stay in the area. Safe and hospitable. Mehr

We thought the hotel was decorated nicely. Our room was chic and the pool and beach views were fabulous. Cabanas grace the pool area. Two doors up the street is Izzy's comedy club where we spent a fun Friday evening! Con's are, the front desk staff doesn't seem to be overly friendly, our mimosa drinks didn't have any frills not even a cherry and very […] little champagne. I was worried about how clean the hotel was and I ended up being very pleased. Our room was upgraded to ocean view since they did not have any rooms we reserved available and they let us check in 2 hours early at no extra charge. The building is older and could use some updating, the carpet was stained and there were a few other things that could have […] been improved. The location is GREAT, right on the beach with a nice swimming pool. Walking distance to bars and restaurants and a block away from Walgreens. Mehr

very pleasant, clean, great location....would definitely consider staying there again.

Only one small mirror in the bathroom. Nowhere to put personal items in the bathroom except two small shelves that were too high. Our items kept falling on the floor. Window overlooking the ocean did not open. There is no spa there. They say they have an exercise room but it is really a tiny room next to the entrance with some weights.

Attractive and clean, nice pools area, and walk out to beach. Right on Collins Drive. Good value for 1-2 night stay.

it is a very nice hotel, besides the expensive parking which is right across the street, you can be lucky and find metered parking also in front. I like the fact that it's far from noisy south beach but close enough for a 7 mns drive down there

Good location, easy access by car. Clean and renewed room. Small fitness facilities, Nice but very little swiming pool.

When i got there, the hotel seemded nice, but when i got the room the a/c didn't work. i spent the worst night ever going to that hotel

The stay was great there were a few Pros and Cons. Pro: The location was great. It's on the water and across the street there are several places to eat. The hotels were neat and clean. Don't jugde by the outside because when you walk inside it's another world. They have gazebos in the pool area that are on a first come first serve basis. I was really […] comforting to know that I can have some shade for my 2 yr old. Cons: The ice machine is not industrial enough for all the hotel. The first day there was ice but then the icemachine would not work quick enough. So bring your own ice. The fridge in our room didn't work, they replaced it with another one and it was keeping the things cool but not cool enough. The "jetted tub" didn't not function. The maid service was a little rude. On the last day I did a late check out to fully enjoy the day and the maid personell asked me at what time I was leaving because she was tired and wanted to go home. I told her that I was paying for the service and would have to wait until I decide to leave to clean our room. I told that if there was a problem Management could speak to me. Another thing is that they say that there are balconies. The only rooms that have balconies are the suites. Another thing is that at 9pm they lock the gate to the beach. Other than those minor things our stay was excellent and we would mostly stay there again. Mehr

Limpo, bem localizado, praia agradável e boa piscina. Evite os quartos da frente. Café da manhã pago à parte. Recomendo.

Mycket bra hotell att bo på. Litet, mysigt och lugnt där man känner sig hemma. Bra frukost/ matställen i närheten. Litet poolområde men räcker bra med sköna solpuffar att ligga i., bara att kliva ut på stranden från poolområdet om man vill det. Kan även bo här med barn. Parkeringen ligger rakt utanför receptionen där man får parkera bilen själv vilket […] är riktigt skönt, kostnad: 18 dollar dygnet. Kommer lätt bo här igen. Mehr

Excelente trato y servicio, brinda lo que ofrece, ubicacion excelente sobre la playa, buenas comodidades y estado impecable de todas sus instalaciones.

The Mimosa Hotel är jättefint och fräscht med bekväma rum med egen jacuzzi, fräsch pool och strandläge MEN det ligger ju på North Beach och närliggande kvarter är inte så roliga. Att ta sig till South Beach tar ca 15 min med taxi, men det tar lite väl lång tid att gå, vilket ju är tråkigt. Slutsats: hotellet kan rekommenderas varmt, men läget är inte […] optimalt (beroende på vad man är ute efter förstås). Vill man bara sola och bada är det perfekt. Mehr
