The hotel has an informative and pleasant staff and is located near the Garden District. It is on the St. Charles Street Car Line which is a local historical attraction in itself and a great way to travel to Audubon Park in one direction, or the French Quarter and Downtown in the other.

Everything was wonderful. No complaints.

Nice place. The parking is completely secure. The room has everything you need inclduding fridge and microwave. Internet included. Nice desk plus sofa and small table. On a great running trail on st charles and next to one of my favorite mexican restaurants Superior Grill.

Don't get me wrong here- this Best Western is actually quite nice. If it were not for the cleanliness of my room, it would have gotten a higher rating. In general, the hotel is clean and the staff is nice. As for the cleanliness, it could have just been my maid and not all of it as a whole. Upon arrival, I noticed little spots around the toilet, hair […] under the seat- kind of gross. I tried to bypass that. The next morning when I laid the floor towel out, I noticed pubic hairs on the floors- let me just put it this way: I think the maid just gave it a visual overview. It was not anything thorough. She did not clean the room the first day. I was just given towels even though I said I was leaving in 10 minutes. Also, toilletries and coffee were not replaced. Breakfast is actually quite nice: coffee, juices, milk, oatmeal, eggs, bacon, toast, waffles, cereals, breads and muffins. Not bad for complimentary. Lastly, the hotel is pet friendly. Three of us were bitten by fleas. We believe it occured downstairs in the lobby where there were dogs, but not in the room. If you don't like pets, don't stay here. I must not have seen pet friendly in the description. Mehr

the room was nicer than the downtown BW. downtown was great too. parking downtown is 28 bucks a day. stay uptown and trolley back and forth. breakfast was better too. eggs, bacon, sausage, and biscuits plus the other stuff from downtown BW. if you drive to town, uptown is the place to be

In one word, WONDERFUL. The hotel was beautiful. The room extremely comfortable. The staff very friendly. The breakfast VERY Good. Best of all the street car stops right in front of the hotel and will take you just about anywhere you want to go. Will definately stay again.

This is the second time we have stayed at the St. Charles Best Western and again had a wonderful stay. The location for us says it all. The staff is alway very friendly and helpful. We love sitting out on the patio and watching the goings on along St. Charles Ave. We will continue to stay each year we visit.

We stayed at the Best Western on St Charles for a weekend vacation to New Orleans. The hotel has a nice location away from all the craziness of the French Quarter, but is located on the street car line for the times you would like to head down to the action. We were able to run (two miles) to Audubon park and walk around the Loyola and Tulane campus. […] The area around the hotel is nice and it is a quick walk to Magazine Street. Hotel had a nice breakfast spread, and a lobby with a big tv for those that wanted to watch football. Front desk staff did their job and were friendly. I would stay here again when/if I go back to New Orleans. Mehr

We had a great stay, staff was very helpful, beds were comfortable, great continental breakfast, loved the historical neighborhood and restaurant next door. We are coming back to stay next June 2012 for another cruise!

Staff were superb. Hotel was very clean with good amenities. Good parking. Let us keep our car there after check-out while we visited Tulane for the day. Room had an window a/c unit that was a bit noisy and did not seem to cool so well but otherwise very happy.

Relatively inexpensive, clean, decent neighborhood -- all things you can't take for granted in New Orleans. Friendly and helpful staff, easy access to the street car for transportation down to the Quarter or up to Audubon Park and Tulane/Loyola.

Room was big and fairly updated. Reservation was for 3 people and they only had a king room left so we had to get a roll away which made the room very cramped. Door to bath did not close and mold (little) on the shower curtain and drapes. Good part was great breakfast, good location and the desk clerk was nice and in room fridge and microwave plus gated […] free parking. Unheard of in New Orleans. However the issues make it very difficult to give this hotel really high ratings. Who wants to deal with problems like 3 ppl in a king room?? Mehr

There are plenty of charming hotels in New Orleans. This isn't one of them. Small room. Acommodation adequate for what we paid, comfortable enough. Breakfast unsatisfactory... microwaved scrambled eggs and the like.

I enjoyed this location, the room was clean and very comforable and very convienient to New Orleans and surrounding areas.

This was a great "find" and a wonderful hotel to stay at for our holiday. Located conveniently on the St Charles Trolley Line it is the perfect place for a quiet getaway. If it is partying you want this is not the place for you. From the warm cookies served in the evening to the tree-lined street this was more like a B & B stay than a hotel. It was very convenient to everything we needed. Also, it provided a family type atmosphere and parking was free. It was right by the trolley rail which allowed us to save on gas. Ths staff was excellent and we enjoyed our stay. Hopefully, we can go back there and stay again in the near future.

We spent three nights at the St. Charles Hotel and everything was just as we expected it to be. It was clean, comfortable and good location. The breakfast was really good. The free parking in a secure lot was a plus and streetcar stop close to the hotel. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Perfect if you will be attending the colleges nearby..

Very friendly staff. Excellent location. Trolley only a few feet from the hotel takes you all over town for only $1.25. Security parking is included in the room charge (no extra $30 charge like other hotels). Rooms a little small, but adequate. Free daily breakfast was a definite plus. Snacks also provided throughout the day at no charge (lemonade, […] tea, cookies, fruit, granola bars). Restaurant is located right next door. Would definitely stay there again. Mehr

The room itself was pretty standard; the only demerit was a window-based AC system that managed to leave the bathroom pretty steamy. But location (right on the cable car line in the Garden District) and value (free parking and good continental breakfast) were great. Also, a good Mexican joint next door that we heard has great margaritas (even for take-out); […] we didn't get to sample but it smelled good! We'd definitely stay again. Mehr

My family and I stayed here for a small weekend getaway. I didn't choose this hotel for any particular reason but ended up being very happy that I ended up here! The staff was more than helpful and went out of their way moreso than some hotels. We needed a cab to go to dinner so I called the front desk to get the name of a cab company but instead she […] insisted on calling them for me and told me just to be in the lobby within the next 10 minutes. She was extremely nice. Also, the bed and pillows were WONDERFUL! Another thing I liked about the rooms was that they had 2 sinks, one in the bathroom and one right when you walked in so i didnt have to argue with my husband about him hogging the sink to brush his teeth and shave when I needed to do my hair. It was great! The rooms also had a fan which I don't believe I've ever seen in a hotel before. The location was also great! It was down St. Charles instead of in the heart of the city which was very nice and also to my surprise was right next door to the Superior Grill. I hadn't seen my husband in a month and half because he works out of state occasionally so once our daughters went to sleep in the room with my mother in law we were able to walk right next door and have drinks and one on one conversation time. The Street Car runs in front of the hotel and that is very convenience if you want to go downtown. Very nice area. My family and I felt really safe. The pictures on the web don't reflect the hotel's inside feeling. I had the idea that it was going to be a little fancier that what I had. The stairs are old, and the elevator is small. The hotels review was so inviting that I just had to try it The lobby was fine but once I got on the elevator the smell hit me. It smelled like an old mildewed house that had not been aired in years, I asked the front desk staff if they smelled it! Old carpet must be the culprit. Checked in Friday night was up early missed the continental breakfast […] both morning's must have been served at 5 am to 6 am both days. The parking was around the corner not on the premises as stated. I did have hot water and clean sheets and towels. Mehr

The mattress was so hard that I didn't sleep well while I stayed here. Otherwise, it's not a bad hotel for the money. Only has free parking for 1 vehicle, so if you arrive seperately from your guest, you'll have to park in the garage down the street for $8 per night.

Very clean. Great breakfast bar. Right in front of street car line

Everything was very good except the parking. They only have space for 24 cars. You must get there early to be one of the luck ones to get a space.

Loved the location, the room was comfortable. But there was hair in the bath tub and the room was over the restaurant and very noisy. The breakfast was not appealing. The coffee GREAT!

Will stay again as our grandson is attending Tulane Law School this fall!

Good hotel with great access via the trolley cars straight to Bourban Street.

The hotel is a great location for watching Mardi Gras parades. The rooms were clean and they provide a good breakfast every morning.

The hotel pretty much met my expectations which were not high. The carpets were old and dirty but most else was clean. The St. Charles trolley was convenient but no one told us that there is a senior discount available. the hotel staff, I'm sure doesn't know about it..

I will stay at the Saint Charles Inn again when visiting New Orleans. I was very pleased with my stay at the St. Charles Inn. The room was very nice and comfortable. The desk clerks were very helpful and friendly.

This hotel is conveniently located on the St. Charles Ave streetcar line. The Garden district is a beautiful area with terrific restaurants nearby. The staff is nice and breakfast is good. The coffee is wonderful.

Right By the Trolley stop and in a clean safe neighborhood. Taxi from Bourbon St to this hotel was only $12 dollars!!

The hotel itself was wonderful and we both walked and used the trolley to get to the downtown area so loved the location. Didn't notice any Mexican food smell and our room was directly above the great restaurant. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the fitness room serviceable. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat, BUT would request a room away from […] the hospital construction going on across the street. I think we were in 314 and directly faced the noise, which woke us up every day, as early as 5 am. Not the hotel's fault but there also wasn't a big rush to change it when I brought it to the desk's attention. Mehr

The streetcar stops just outside taking you to the French Quarters and you're next to the Garden District which is worth a look, and close to Magazine Street, a great hub of restaurants, bars and cute stores. However the room we stayed in (301) was right above all the air conditioning units and when it's time to go to sleep it's all you can hear as […] the bathroom window doesn't shut tightly and the glazing in this room is not sufficient to block the noise. The inside 'courtyard' rooms don't offer a view, overlooking the units and an ugly ground level roof but who's there for the view from your hotel room?! Room was good enough, clean, good bathroom, had a microwave, coffee machine, fridge in the room and the breakfast was great! Plenty of choice and enough food for eveyone. But the noise factor really bothered me as this was the only slightly sour note on this trip. I presume room 201 directly below us suffers from the same problem (which is on the same level as the units)and the room next to us, I think room 303. So perhaps ask for a room other than these. Really enjoyed my stay, convenient to Uptown sights and restaurants.

I definitely recommend staying at this hotel. Location is great. About a 15 minute ride to the French Quarter and trolley stops right outside. Staff is helpful and very friendly. Staff was nice, restaurant attached to hotel was great, no noise from outside, room was cold, bed was comfortable, breakfast was awesome, loved it. Would stay there again definately!
