The room was very small - hardly enough space to open the luggage. The front desk was unfriendly. But the breakfast was a cheek! You had to ask a woman for every bread, bagle, cup, plate or anything else, whereas she barely understood English. Furthermore there were far to little tables and chairs, so that half of the guests had to eat standing.

This is the 2nd time I stayed at this hotel. The first time the room was modern and more updated than the normal Travellodge standard. Well, we were not allowed into our room even though we had been staying for 2 days, and were just moving ot a new room. Had to sit in the car from 11 - 4 that day and work from there. Overall i was pleasantly surprised at how clean and comfortable the hotel property and room was ! The housekeeping staff was absolutely top notch! although i was unprepared for the 260.00 deposit it was just a minor inconvenience. I would still definitely recommend this hotel.

Not bad. Other than the fact that it was literally a walk away from the border this hotel provided all that i needed. I was slightly paranoid about being kidnapped and brought to Mexico, but nothing bad happened I'm a pretty paranoid person to begin with. For the price this hotel is AWESOME

After reading all of the reviews I was not really ready to give it a shot, but I did...So my expectations for this hotel was on the negative...and yes there are many things that this hotel can improve on, but overall it was great. The room that I had was huge with a small kitchen and nice large bathroom. I had to head down to Tijuana to see the Dentist and stayed here at the hotel. It was fast checkin and the guy at night was very helpful (Salvador). I will be staying here again when I head back down in 2 weeks.

Both this property and their sister location in La Mesa are fine if you just want a night or two and be on your way, but if something happens with maintenance, service or whatever... Good Luck! There's not much they can do since I was told maintenance is not available in the evenings/nights. And if you annoy them even a little with a complaint, don't […] expect to be able to stay there again because it might say Travelodge on the building but families often run these hotels and "daddy" will make you "persona non-grata". They probably figured as long as they keep their prices low, they will always have willing guests and so you and your complaints can go elsewhere because I guess they're making you a favor by letting you stay there. Wanting to walk across the border the next day, I decided to stay somewhere close to the border. Imagine my surprise when the third-cheapest hotel in the entire San Diego area was a mile from the border and had a good rating on Hotels.com! I arrived late at night after a flight and proceeded to my room and was surprised to find a very clean, well-appointed, […] and comfortable room. The room was a tad cozy--the king-size bed took up most of the space, but there was plenty of room to walk around the bed, and there was room for a sitting chair and table next to the bed and a work desk opposite. A standard (not HD) TV was on a dresser containing an in-room fridge. The bed was exceptionally comfortable with some neat pillows that cradle your head--I'd like to obtain some of those pillows for myself! Breakfast was included; although the breakfast area was a bit crowded when I went down, I did grab a bowl of cereal and take it back to the room to finish it. Friendly front desk folks and good, secure parking made this a surprisingly excellent choice. Would not hesitate to stay here again! Mehr

Spent one night after reading reviews thought I would try since I travel to the area so much and travel alone. I was real impressed. Fast check in, room was good size even had a microwave, refrig, and stove. Room looked well kept only the bathroom area and cooking area seemed older needing remodeling. The toilet rocked when you sat on it but that was […] my worst experience. My TV remote did not work so I used the TV. Best of all the beds a comfy not hard and the pillows are great. Sheets are clean but not fitted to bed so they are loose. Lighting ok but many to turn on. Good free internet connection. It was a nice quiet night and I felt safe as the location is excellent. The morning breakfast was cereal and sweet rolls or muffins, coffee juice. Not much but for the price of the room who should complain. Starbucks is just down the road and Dennys is an easy walk. Did not use the pool but it is a large enclosed area with a good size pool separate from the lodging area. Great deal try it and you will agree. Mehr

I went to check in after work the gentleman at the front desk charged me a deposit (which it clearly states on their website, so that is fine but be aware). My room key did not work. Not once, not twice but three times. I had to wait over a half hour to get a key that worked. The next night I went to the office because two deposits were showing against […] my credit card. This gentleman insisted that there was no deposit taken and that they never had seen my credit card. I booked through this site so the hotel never sees my card so how would there be a charge if they never saw my card? Never going back to this hotel. Mehr

The only thing that did not appear to be very clean was the carpet floor. Our stay was otherwise enjoyable. We took our own mutigrain cereal and bread to the breakfast area. There were mainly a few white flour and white sugar items to choose from which are very unhealthy, but I am not complaining. There was also some fruit. Thank you.
