Das Hotel liegt zentral 1 Block vom Rambla und 2 Blöcke vom Passeig de Gracia entfernt. Die Metro ist zu fuß ca 300 m entfernt. Wir haben kein Barcelona Ticket benötigt, da wir fast alles zu fuß unternommen haben. Die Zimmer sind einfach eingerichtet. Die Betten sind zusammengeschobene Feldbetten mit Federkern Matratzen. 3 Tage waren eindeutig genug. Unser […] Zimmer lag zu Straße, was uns so einige Nächte den Schlaf raubte, da die Straße zu laut war. Barcelona war toll und einen Kurzurlaub wert. Auch das Appartment würde ich weiterempfehlen, wenn man im Ritz kein Zimmer mehr bekommen hat.. :-) Auch mit Kindern hat alles gut geklappt. Ohne Englisch kommt man nicht weiter. zuerst einmal das positive...wir hatten eine sehr schöne suite, bestehend aus drei zimmern. es gibt in der küche alles was man braucht um sich selber zu versorgen, und die angestellten sind sehr nett. das hotel liegt sehr schön und ist sehr sauber. nun das negative, da die Rezeption nicht besetzt war, mussten wir 10 min. vor der Tür warten bis jemand […] kam. Das wifi klappt auch nicht so, obwohl die Angestellten sehr bemüht waren, den Fehler zu beheben, war ich in drei Tagen nur 10min. online... die abflüsse im bad riechen stark nach gülle, man muss die stopsel im abfluss lassen, damit der geruch nicht das ganze Apartment ausfühlt. im großen und ganzen würde ich aber wieder kommen! Wir waren fünf sehr überraschte Männer, als wir ins Hotel kamen. Absolut genial, mit Küche, Waschmaschine, Herd, Backofen...... Die Reinigungskraft hat sogar unser Geschirr gespült. Ich will auf jeden Fall wieder hin!!!

Wir sind mit unseren Kindern (9+11) im Nov. 2010 in Barcelona gewesen. Das Hotel liegt an einem schönen Platz (Plaza del Dct. Letamendi) mit Palmen und Kinderspielplatz, ca. 5 min zu Fuß von der U-Bahn Staion Passeig de Gracia und ebensolange von der U-Bahn Station Universitat. Es hat nur 9 Appartments und ist daher sehr ruhig. Wir hatten ein App. auf […] die Rückseite des Hotel und es gab keinerlei Lärm. Das App. (4. Stock Nr 2) war sehr schön eingerichtet. Nur das zweite Schlafzimmer ist sehr klein und das franz. Bett ist für 2 Personen äußerst knapp. Aber für 3 Nächte ging es. Im EG gibt es einen kleinen Snack-Raum, in dem man kostenlos Kaffe, Tee, Wasser und O-Saft bekommt sowie div. Gebäck/Muffins/Magdalenas essen kann. In der Nähe haben wir ein kleines Cafe entdeckt, in dem wir täglich gemütlich frühstückten (Cafe+Croissant 1,40€, 3 Croissants 1,10€, 1,5 L Wasser 1 € !!). Die Küche im App. haben wir daher gar nicht benutzt. Man muß wissen, daß der Eingang zum Hotel bei einen Parkhaus ist, sonst findet man es schlecht, da nur ein kleines Schild auf das Hotel hinweist. Neben dem Hotel gibt es div. Restaurants, u.a. auch ein Argentinisches. Insgesamt hat es uns und den Kindern sehr gut dort gefallen und wir würden auch wieder dort hingehen, falls mal wieder ein Barcelonabesuch ansteht. Mehr

Hatten 2 sehr schöne Tage in Barcelona. Hotel liegt relativ zentral. Schön eingerichtet in renoviertem schönen Statdthaus mit Balkons. Einrichtung enthielt Großbild-LCD, Wifi, Klima in allen Zimmern und sogar eine Waschmaschine. Metro-Station ist in der Nähe. Our family of five (three teenagers) loved the Grandom Suites. It fit us all well and we had an excellent stay here. I couldn't believe how central the hotel is located - we walked to Las Ramblas and also to Gothic Quarter and to many great restaurants and cafes. All as described, and to a very good standard. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge and dining area. Plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 children. We had a room at the back with two WCs. No noise at all. Would recommend as a well equipped well located self catering option.

The Grandom Suites Barcelona is a great option for a family of 5 traveling abroad. We stayed in the junior suite with 2 bedrooms + pullout sofa, 1 1/2 baths, kitchen, living & dining space; very roomy by european standards for a family of 2 adults, 2 teens and 1 pre-teenager. The staff (both at Splendom & Grandom) was extremely friendly and helpful. […] Three great restaurants are right out the door, steps away: tapas @ Teleferic, paella @ Casa Julia, and argentinian steaks @ Pampero. The metro is 3 blocks away on Passeig de Gracia. I love this suite. The things I look for when I travel is cleanliness, great customer service and location. This place had all that and more! Just to give a little background on our situation, we went to Spain for a birthday celebration. This was our first time to Barcelona, luckily we found this wonderful suite!!! The receptionist was amazing showed […] us where to go, where to shop, sightsee, eat, party and cheapest way to get to airport (FYI train is only 2 euros to the airport, but cab ride in traffic was 23 euros). Anywoo she really went out her way, which made a stay a wonderful experience. Also they had free internet and water and snacks all day! Plus a kitchen with a washer for our clothes. We were desperate for a bed, thinking something at a reasonable price for a hotel would get us a couple beds and a sink, ended up with a full kitchen, washer dryer, two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a full dining room, with a balcony. Would definitely reccomend for anyone needing a nice place to stay.

Grandom Suites provides an excellent base for the family (2+2kids) to explore Barcelona, the location is very central and feels very safe. Although it doesn't look grand from the outside, this doesn't matter unless you are worried about your own image!!

Good neighborhood. 30+ restaurants w/in 10 min walking; we tried 5 places, including 1 highly rated, and 3 were good. W/in 5 min of Metro & 7 from airport train. Very roomy; apt type setup w/ kitchen. Enough beds and chairs to accomodate 6 people. Bathroom and kitchen can use a remodeling which would push it up to a 4.3 star. Staff very helpful the […] 2x we interacted w/ them. Staff very nice and spoke English well (may be off-site). Place came with complenentary sodas and snacks; can walk 5 min to grocery store. Entrance to hotel is next to garage entry and maybe 3 meters wide so have to look carefully to see it; next to Hanoi restaurant which has a bigger sign and easier to find. WIFI was included with the room and was about 128kb/sec; however, the room we were in, the wifi only reached into the living room and not the master bedroom; could've been a setting (e.g. frequency) on the router and/or the walls being too thick since the router was immediately outside our main door. We arrived around 7:30pm on Friday night when there was nobody on the check-in desk. The only way for us to get in past the locked door was to call a Spanish number (not that convenient from my UK phone!). 10 minutes later someone arrived to let us in, and then he spent the next 15 minute bumbling around trying to find the paperwork. We'd paid to be […] in the three person suite, but were given room shown in the pictures of the 1-2 person suite. When we went to check-out (at 11am, which is quite early compared to other hotels) we left our bags behind so that we could see the city. We were warned that the concierge closes at 7pm and if we were later than this we'd need to call, so I called at 7:45pm and was told there would be someone to meet us at 8pm. At 8:05pm I called again and they told me that they would be 5 - 10 minutes longer - and then ended up turning up at 8:20pm! Waiting 35 minutes to get our bags is pretty unreasonable, and any longer and we would have missed the train to the airport and our flight to London. We booked this as a nice compromise between price, location and convenience, but in the end these "suites" were a huge disappointment and a long way behind other 4 star hotels in Spain. Mehr

Great greeting and information by a young lady who had a french accent. Really made us feel welcome. The rooms were a little cramped but well equipped. You packed a lot into a small space and made it work well. We did have a little difficulty understanding the controls for the AC. Overall a wonderful surprise when we arrived in Barcelona.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Grandom Suites. The central location is excellent with not far to travel in any direction for the city's main attractions. Very spacious 2 bedroom apartment with kitchen and laundry facility. The only problem is the ac unit had condensation problem and created a big pool of water on the floor. WIth 2 teenagers we just spent a great week in Barcelona in this hotel/apartment. The location is superb, walking distance from many major attractions. The environment is peaceful, safe, and relatively quiet (with the windows closed). There are good shops very close by where you can buy all you need - a supermarket just across the square - and excellent […] shops for luxury items too. With regards to the smell on the last comment, ok the drains in large mediterranean cities can be a problem, but we found that by leaving the plugs in the bath, sink, bidet and anything else where the smell can rise, the problem can be overcome. in a 3 month journey around Europe this was the best Hotel my girlfriend and I stayed at. kitchen is massive, big fridge and room was neat tidy and decor fine. we enjoyed eating our breakfast on the private terrace and it was walking distance to all sites and 10 minutes walk to metro if going in/out of Barcelona. 4 of us stayed in a junior suite for 3 nights, which was nearly ideal. A 5th member of our group stayed the last night, and sleeping arrangements became slightly cramped. Had 2 of the 5 occupants been a couple, this suite would have been absolutely perfect. Our suite consisted of 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, a kitchen, a family room (w/ pullout couch), and […] a patio balcony. Our suite was even larger than necessary, probably, but I'm obviously not complaining. I can't really think of a single complaint about the actual room itself, although I have no idea what the rest of the suites/flats were like. The building is centrally located in Barcelona. The neighborhood seemed generally safe, albeit slightly quiet. It's somewhat removed from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas, but it's not that hard to reach them. I have 3 criticisms, and they're relatively minor to me: 1. nearest Metro stations are a few blocks away (5 or so minute walks). 2. no key cards. Had to carry a front door key and a room key. Not terribly inconvenient, but not ideal. 3. small hot water tank. hot water ran out quickly. If you're only in town for a night or two, you may not need this type of accommodation, but for larger parties or families, staying 3+ nights, I highly recommend Grandom Suites. You will not regret it. It felt like a home. In addition, there are grocery stores and markets nearby to buy food you can prepare in your very own kitchen. The staff, when they were present, were extremely friendly and helpful. (They're not there at night or during siesta) Barcelona is an awesome city and our Grandom Suites suite was a fantastic home base from which to explore the town. In addition, the complimentary snack room was awesome: free pastries, orange juice, espresso, cappuccino capsules for your room's coffee maker, and various other snicker-snacks. TAKE ADVANTAGE. Mehr

The overall surrounding of the hotel was very pleasant, we felt pretty safe walking around, lots of restaurants near by, with plenty of choices. That was the best part. Walking to The Rambla is about 15 minutes, a tat far for us since we have little kids, but perhaps for people without children, that wouldn't be that long of a walk. I picked this hotel mainly because it has a fully equiped kitchen and washer, which was extremely important for me again because of kids. I did laundry everyday. But the bathroom really needed to be updated, and whatever they can do to get rid of the smell, it was enough to drive the guests out after 1 night there, because there's no way you can keep the bathroom door open , or holding your breath while in the bathroom. The staff is very friendly and generally helpful. Great food bar / continental breakfast area, we enjoyed the espresso very much. Mehr

We arrived early and after hitting the buzzer someone came to meet us. Our room wasnt ready (it was 9am) so we dropped of our bags. One of the bedrooms had no a/c just a window into an alley.... and the a/c in the living area wasnt cold enough. If we stayed more than one night, we would have asked to change rooms. easy to miss entrance- this is a small boutique euro hotel- don't stay here if you like the creature comforts of sheraton, westin, etc. It is real Euro living- we had 2 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, kitchen with washer, living room, baloncy --all in true Euro style. Finding the hotel was difficult because it does not look like a hotel. It is above a parking garage and the entrance is a door off in the corner, you can walk right by it and not even realize. When we checked in we had to wait for someone to let us in because reception is in another building a couple of blocks away. The staff we dealt with was really […] nice though, as was the hotel room. The rooms were large and clean, including the bathroom. As another reviewer mentioned there is only half of a shower door but that was our experience in every hotel throughout Europe. You just have to be bit careful when showering or else you will get water everywhere. We also had two balconies which was nice but the view was not. The view from the balcony was of a parking lot and the back of the surrounding buildings, which were nothing to look at, but it was quiet and nice to sit and unwind. The hotel was walking distance to almost everything you would want to see in Barcelona and for the sights a bit further there were metro stations close by. The only inconvenience was when we checked out we had to find the reception office and the directions they provide are not very clear so we ended up wondering around for a good 30 minutes just so we could leave. The place would not stay open in the states. The shower was missing part of the shower doors and got the whole bathroom under water. Staff solution, "we will bring more towels". Vi är fem personer i familjen med så pass små barn att vi inte vill dela upp oss i dubbelrum. Lägenheten vi fick Grandom Suites passade oss utmärkt. Stort kök, tom espressobryggare med kaffekapslar. Detalj, men det kändes välkomnande. Trevlig personal, som dock inte bemannade hela natten utan satt då på ett annat hotell bredvid. Men det gick bra att […] ringa och då kom de omgående över.
