Viel Spaß in Tokio!

"Altes Hotel in West-Shinjuku"
"Shinjuku New CIty Small but Clean"
I stayed for 12 days in Shinjuku New City hotel and i couldnt be happier. The rooms are small but very clean, the staff doesn't speak English but is very helpful. You stay a bit far from Shinjuku station but the small bus that does the rounds from the Station to the Hotel is very convenient. Also in front of you is the very nice Chou-Kouen wich was […] beautiful in April due to the Sakura and the mighty Tokyo Tosho, where the tourist information center has enough fliers about Tokyo to fill a small house. I recomend it. Mehr
"Shinjuku New City Hotel, Tokyo"
Hotel is great value, 15 minutes walk from Shinjuku staiion. The shuttle bus( when it runs) is invaluable and the driver is punctual to the seconds and he is very courteous. Arigatou. We booked a non-smoking room and when we checked in, all they had was a smoking room. We were v disappointed, but I must say, the staff tried v hard to accommodate us. […] They deodorise the room, sent someone to the room to check if its acceptable to us. I think the hotel should ENSURE a non-smoking room is RESERVED, when someone booked 2 months in advance. Secondly, there is no individual control of room temperature. In our case, it was boiling hot. Luckily we can leave our window open but then we can hear the traffic noise. All that aside, room size is large for Japanese hotel and it is good value. Shinjuku station & Shinjuku itself is a destination. One can shop, eat & explore for days without going anywhere. My favourite place is Golden Gate Shinjuku where the local goes. It is about 3 short streets, filled with tiny bars ( space for 3-4 people) & food. We saw a musician performing from the toilet for 4 customers! What a gem! Mehr

"Shinjuku new city hotel,quiet location"
Quiet location but with shuttle service to Shinjuku station,it takes about 10 mins to walk from Tochomae station, just beside central park. we stay 2 night in the semei double room, small room with small bed,i think the bed is a bit smaller than queen size,so still ok for asian traveller.wi-fi only at lobby and 3/F.the staffs speak good english.will choose […] this hotel again. "Cheap, comfortable, close to Shinjuku"
A rare mid-rise bargain in Tokyo, with views of both the park and Tokyo's skyscrapers. Two of us stayed 3 nights in a semi double room (16sqm 121cm bed width). The room and bathroom were smaller than the pictures suggest, but it was clean and functional. The windows opened, the toilet had special attributes, and the tub was deeper than a standard Western […] tub (but not as deep as others we've used). The Tochomae subway station is about 5 minutes' walk; Shinjuku is a bit farther away. The shuttle is pretty convenient; just keep the schedule on hand. There's very little here in terms of late-night eats, but the Family Mart/7-11 just up the street should take care of hunger/thirst not slaked by the myriad hotel vending machines. We'd definitely stay here again. Mehr
Staff was extremely helpful and polite, fairly close to subway stations but not really close to an abundance of resturants and nightlife, although one nice continental resturant very close buy. Biggest complaint is the hotel is old and needs a renovation.
"not very far from the Shinjuku Metro"
With shutter bus to Shinjuki Metro Station, this hotel offers convenient access to the malls, department stores, etc.
"Shinjuku New City Hotel- convenient"
The hotel rooms are compact but functional. The price is very reasonable and for the location, it is good value. The hotel puts on a bus service to Shinjuku station which is very convenient.
"Good Hotel"
Reasonable price for this slightly older hotel. No wireless, but short cord and router provided for wired net access. Bring your own LAN cable if you want to use your PC anywhere but on the desk. Quiet area just outside of Shinjuku, in the shadow of the TMG building. Would reccomend this hotel, and stay there again.
"Comfortable, straightforward hotel, great location"
This hotel is clean, tidy and the staff are very helpful, they also have a handy shuttle bus to Shinjuku station, which is great. It's a basic western style hotel, not many frills but if you want something well priced and well kept then this hotel is great, it's in a great location too - no more than 20mins on foot to Shnjuku or Shibuya and Harajuku […] through Yoyogi park... I'd stay here again :) Mehr
"Shinjuku New City Hotel, Tokyo-convenient shuttle"
Hotel was clean and reasonably priced, clean and included free internet. Service was above average or average depending on the staff. About a 15-20 min walk from Shinjuku train station. Hotel shuttle runs from 7am to 10 or 11am and then starts again around 4pm-9:30 pm or so. I thought the bed was a little too firm, the pillows were good and the shower […] was great with lots of pressure! Mehr
"Practical location"
Reasonably economical and a good location a bit over 1 km from Shinjuku station and close to a park. A free shuttle bus makes the transport to and from Shinjuku easy. Room was very small but functional - no problems.
"Shinjuku New City Hotel, Japan"
This hotel is priced right. The hotel is very simple. There is free internet in the lobby and in the room. There are many convenient stores near by, The location makes it difficult to walk to from Shinjuku Station but they do have a bus that runs in the morning and then the Afternoon Evening. You can walk there in 10 Minutes and a Taxi for about 650 […] Yen. Overall right in the center of Tokyo and very easy to commute around Tokyo from. Mehr
"A so-so experience at reasonable price"
Services were pretty courteous and staff was friendly. The shuttle service to Shinjuku JR Station was convenient though there is a pretty long gap of around 6 hours without a service at mid-day. Had to ask for a modem and cables and do all the set up myself to enjoy internet on my laptop in the room. The internet connection, be it LAN in rooms or wifi […] in the lobby, was pretty slow and not too stable. Mehr
"Affordable Hotel in Shinjuku"
Shinjuku New City Hotel offers affordable rates with reasonable rooms to stay in. It even offers free shuttle service to Shinjuku Station, which is very convenient
"Good hotel for the price"
Good Hotel they need to be discreet when a cliant receives a message is not the job of the front desc employ to reed firts the message and aftr that to handl to the costunmer
"New City Hotel"
For the first time in 23 years I elected to change hotels from my normal place, mostly due to cost considerations. This hotel is fine for anyone that will not need to spend much time in the room - rooms are small with no closets - just hooks on the walls - they are real sticklers about the 10:00 am checkout - I was charged an additional amount for two […] hours after the check-out time. It is definitely not a high end hotel but having said that it is convenient, clean and price worthy. Mehr
"Shinjuku N.C.H - Not for a long day in Tokyo"
Beginning with everything great: 1) Very good staff were friendly, spoke English(not all but MOST DO) & helpful 2) Hotel was expectedly small but clean, ample free-for-your-use items (toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, hairbrush, etc) 3) Free in-room WIRED internet service (which you have to set up yourself) 4) Free (but limited timing) shuttle service 5) […] Near a Family Mart (24 hr convenience store) 6) Very near Chuo park (Just across) 7) Good walk if you would like to observe the buildings in Shinjuku 8) You can walk down to Yoyogi Harajuku (If you have a sense of direction & super walking shoes!) Things not-so-good: 1) LOCATION. This is by far the worst thing I can say about this hotel. Definitely not for one if you're intending to explore Tokyo the whole day and return with aching backs/legs/feet only to realise that you have to walk through the HUGE very-many-different-lines-stations-and-a-million-exits SHINJUKU station (there are Shinjuku Toei, Keio, JR, Metro lines which are joint to each other and each having about 10-15 or more exits?). So, be prepared, to walk... A LOT because Shinjuku is not a 5 minute walk to the hotel.. for sure. It is at least 15 -20 minutes (on average speed) with several roads to cross, due to energy conservation, several street lamps are off (so expect some parts surrounding to be dark) - depending on which of the 2 closer exits you come out by (Tokyo Metropolitan Centre exit OR Shinjuku Washington City Hotel) I happened to have had long days and caught a 3-day rain (due to typhoon). Wet, cold, tired, aching, hungry and had to walk, because the shuttle bus was off-service. 2) LIMITED SHUTTLE SERVICE. Understandable, but very important. This service can save you a lot of physical pain and might be the turning point in you missing your flight home. It runs from: 7.05am - 10.30am STOPS after until 4.30pm then starts again from: 4.30pm - 9.30pm (This is as per their pamphlet given to me as of 30th May 2011) So, if you are like me and ha Mehr

"Shinjuku New City Hotel Good Location"
This Shinjuku new City Hotel is in very good location, which only 10minutes walk away from the nearest LRT Station. Next to it is the government building and is in quiet environment.

"japanese style hotel"
The hotel was what one would expect from a typical japanese type of hotel. It is not an International 5 star, so don't expect such. The location was great for the Tokyo Marathon, but was a 10 minute walk from the main shopping area of Shinjuku and subway station. There also was no direct airport bus, so a bit of walk was required.

"Shinjuku New City Hotel-Quiet location opp park"
We stayed at Shinjuku New City Hotel in January 2011 and found it to be a very quiet location .The free shuttle bus was a bonus that was invaluable. The hotel was quiet small but the rooms by Japanese standard were quite roomy and comfortable. We booked two rooms as we travelled with our 12 and 15 yr old who were given a room across the corridor on the […] same floor. The check in staff spoke limited english, but were helpful.Beds were a little hard .Vending machines on ground floor very conveinient. We would stay here again . "Shinjuku New City Hotel - run down"
Checked in a delxue twin room no. 3212 on 12/F. One of the mattress slanted, hardly can sleep on it. Ceiling over bathtub cracked and the ventilation fan need cleaning.
"Stay at Shinjuku New City Hotel"
The semi-double room quite big and clean. Very close to the Subway line. The hotel provide the Bus Shuttle for hotel guest who going to JR Shinjuku Station.

Location of hotel is good with regular shuttle bus to Shinjuku stn (5mins ride). If you choose to walk, it is abt 15mins to the Shinjuku station, which will connect you to various parts of Tokyo. You can also choose to walk all the way using the underground walkways linking the subways to the station. Value for money, though size of room is small by […] Western standard. Sufficient facilities - vending machine, internet, washing machine. Rooms are well maintained. Recommended for budget conscious travellers. Mehr
"Convenient Shuttle Service"
The hotel is about 20min walk away from Shinjuku station. Hotel room is small as expected. Hotel reception service is satisfactory. Luckily I booked this hotel at 50% offer rate otherwise it may not be worth the money. The best thing about the hotel is the shuttle service that runs between hotel and shinjuku station.
"Good for discount price"
I got a "double" room for half price, which is the max I would pay for this room. It's well located and clean, but very tiny. Staff was helpful and nice and free transport from and to the train station was included.
"Shinjuku New City Hotel"
Reasonable rates, good service and safe. Would definitely recommend a friend to stay in this Hotel.
"hotel next to a park"
Nice, and convenient location,an easy 15 mins walk to shinjuku. There is a regular shuttle service also.Rooms are clean but small, but for the price it is acceptable. However the bed is a bit worn and needs replacing. The service staffs are efficient, polite and accomodating as can be expected in Japan. Will recommend it to friends.

"Nice Budget hotel in Shinjuku area"
the hotel is located in quiet area (office area) in Shinjuku. It's 10-15min away by walk from the Shinjuku station where you can go anywhere in Tokyo. So I'd say the location is almost perfect. The hotel runs a suttle bus to the station which is very convenient. Room is not big but still fairly good size for Tokyo, and very clean. Hotel staff was friendly […] and kind. If you are looking for a budget hotel in central Tokyo, I'd recommend this hotel. Mehr
"Shinjuku New City Hotel in Tokyo"
The room was VERY small but my understanding is that this is typical with most Tokyo hotels. Despite the lack of space, the room was kept clean daily. The bed was full size bed (smaller than expected). The internet didn't work in our room so we needed to go to the lobby for Wifi. As far as location, the shuttle bus was convenient but it didn't run all […] day. On a hot sunny day in August, you did not want to walk to Shinjuku station. Tochomae station is the nearest one (3 minute walk). Didn't have breakfast at the hotel. There are restaurants nearby the hotel. Mehr
"New City Hotel Shinjuku"
The hotel was nice and clean. Staff was very helpful. There are plenty of vending machines for food and drinks for those late night snacks and there is a small room to wash your clothes if you need too. The Hotel was a good walking distance from the main train station and a about 10 minute walk from the closest train station. The rooms where nice and […] clean and well stocked. the Air conditioner worked fine and there was TV in the room. The internet was only available in the lobby or pay internet machines. For the price it was a good stay over all Mehr
"Free shuttle bus to Shinjuku station"
Reasonable price. Hotel is well maintained. There is a free shuttle bus leaving almost 15 mins and drop you off at Shinjuku station.
"Shinjuku New City Suffices"
While in Shinjuku I also visited the slightly more expensive Shinjuku Washington Hotel and thought that the Shinjuku New City Hotel compared very well at a slightly lower price. The only thing the Washington could add were several on-site stores. It is a bigger complex. The Shinjuku New City was very quiet, the rooms were clean, and the staff very helpful […] (the people I met at reception spoke excellent English). It had Internet and laundry facilities and also a shuttle bus to Shinjuku station. I would recommend it for anyone travelling on a budget. Mehr
"Great Hotel"
Hotel was nice and clean. Great location to major transport, easy to get around. Bus and Bus driver were great, very friendly people, Free bus service was very handy. Bed was very uncomfortable.
The hotel would be a little far from Shinjuku station and night life - but there is an amazing free shuttle tht runs every 20 mins to and from the station. It mnade staying at the hotel a real treat.
The Shinjuku New City Hotel is full of willing and helpful staff. The rooms are clean and small. The bed was much smaller than expected. The wifi connection in the lobby was inconsistent. There was convenient shuttle to Shinjuku station and it was a 10-15 minute walk to Shinjuku station via the beautiful gardens.
"Shinjuku New City Hotel"
This Hotel I would highly recommend. It is very quite in the otherwise very busy Shinjuku district. The rooms are very clean but also very small. Who prefers spacious atmosfere wouldn´t be too satifsfied here. If you need a room just to stay over night, and need it to be nice and clean, then you will find everything you need in this accomodation facility. […] The employees at the front desk are very nice and helpful with any questions concerning transportation, restaurants or sight seeing. The hotel is located just a few walking minutes from main Shinjuku train station and Metro station. The entire Tokyo area is basically easily to reach from here, and the price for the hotel is very affordable. Mehr
"Fantastic hotel for the price"
Excellent hotel - about 12 mins walk to Shinjuku station. Just around the corner from the Metropolitan building.
