Recreation Inn And Suites - Kelowna

Close to IHop restaurant where we had a good dinner and just across the highway from a large shopping centre. "Breakfast" consisted of fruit, pastries, and coffee - not very wholesome. This place provided an inexpensive suite, where space, privacy and kitchen amenties are what you require. It is clean but very dated. If this is a special holiday this is not a place that I would recommend. If you are in Kelowna with a kid's sporting team and you want extra space and a place to cook then this is fine.

My boyfriend and I booked the cheapest room at this hotel for one night. We checked in late and front desk upgraded us to a huge room on the first floor so we wouldn't have to carry luggage up the stairs. It was extremely clean, quiet and the beds were new and comfy. Located right off the highway. Very pleasant stay.

Comfortable, reasonable, seasoned, central location

Friendly staff and beautiful courtyard. As well it is close to the downtown core and minutes from the beaches. In order to make this a true pet friendly place, I would remove the rugs in the rooms and replace them with lino. Even though I am not allergic to my dog and I am allergic to other types of dogs, cats who do shed. Having lino in the room would […] make it much easier to keep clean and reduce allergies etc. You can never get rugs clean enough, they were very dirty. Mehr

very comfy beds

LARGE CLEAN ROOMS HOWEVER BEDS OLD & SAGGED. PROPERTY OLD & NOISY LOCATION ESPECIALLY ON TOP FLOOR. BREAKFAST IS COFFEE,FRUIT,MUFFINS

This is an older hotel and could use an upgrade, but it's clean and would suit a family.

Had a shock when we arrived at the hotel as all rooms are not pet friendly and there were none available. The reason we booked was because it was flagged as pet friendly. Not the hotels fault but hotels,ca so be aware that pet friendly doesn't always mean that. I visited Kelowna visiting my grandparents and needed a hotel room that would suit our four kids. The web site was accurate, it had one room with a king size bed, a common room with a Queen and a sofa bed. The sofa bed was terrible, springs poking and very uncomfortable. The room and everything was clean, although there were some hairs on the sheets. […] We checked closely and made sure they were clean, but made everyone sleep in their pyjamas. The pool was adequate and fun for the kids, although I got a glass sliver walking around the pool in bare feet. The good side was the service was really good, we asked for extra blankets and towels, never an issue. For what the cost is the room was good value in the end. Mehr

Our Non-smoking suite had a strong smoke smell. When this was brought up the day manager he denied being able to smell anything. He even went so far as to inform us that the previous guests in the room had been allergic to smike and they did not have any concerns. We did ask for a move to a new room but apparently there were no others available. We […] ended up spraying a whole bottle of Febreze to help with the smell. Staff were helpful and professional. Carpets were ripped. Room was noisy. Hairs were on pillows, sheets and toilet seat when we arrived. Housekeeping changed all linen, but there were still hairs on clean sets. Must be something wrong with the washing machine. Very off putting to find hairs in beds.

The price brought us here but even that couldn't entice me a second time. Even the beautiful roses growing around the property can't make up for an old, out of date motel. Think crumbling cement steps as you drag lug your suitcases to the second floor, a small dark stuffy room reminiscent of 1950s motels with a tiny tv (no flat screen here!), old shower […] head that rains needles of water, no bars of soap but a dispenser that sometimes gives a minute amount of soap & other times chooses not to. Don't expect any small bottles of shampoo or lotion here! No coffee either, altho the machine is there - they charge $2 a packet in the office! The worst part however was when we arrived, went up to our room, turned on the a/c, came back 3 hours later expecting to find a cool room, & the reality was that it felt like the a/c had never even been turned on! We knew then we were in for a long miserable night! In order to get any kind of air, we had to open the window which we were able to do. My husband was NOT happy! Mehr

I booked this place over the internet. The pictures are flattering, we found - more on the roses than on the rooms. Upon arrival, I was dismayed to see what the outside of the place looked like, but was assured that the inside was better. We had booked the 2 room suite for 4 people. It had a full kitchen, and that was the selling feature for us. We […] were comfortable there, although the rooms are dated. However, the beds have been all upgraded, and were firm and good quality. The Recreation Inn was certainly value for the dollar. The grounds are very well kept. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. The only small issue was that there was no soap or shampoo in the room when I arrived and the towels were quite thin. However, the price was reasonable and I enjoyed my stay to attend my granddaughter's graduation. Carol

Hotel was old. Washroom was the worst. Yellow tub, they left tap holes and put different taps above old ones and toilet that you had to flush 3 times for it to work. Cigrarettes burns over the counter. Carpet had big wrinkles all over. Curtains backing was full of holes. Very disappointed. Would not recommend this hotel.

Because I checked in late ( 2:00 AM ), I was allowed an extra hour to sleep. My stay was quiet and comfortable.

Other than having to wait about 10 minutes for the clerk to return to the office upon registration, the service was good. The cost for an overnight stay before our morning flight was very reasonable compared to anything else available and there were more facilities than we could use. Nous avons été très contents de l'ensemble. Le seul inconvénient est qu'on nous avait dit que la chambre pouvait accomoder 3 personnes grâce au sofa-lit. Malheureusement, la qualité du sofa-lit était effroyable. On pouvait compter les ressorts qui étaient tous en relief.
