Hollywood Inn Express South - Los Angeles

Motel liegt an guter lage zwischen Hollywood und Downtown. Das Zimmer war nicht wirklich sauber, es gab zwei Tuechlein fuer zwei personen - viel zu wenig und der wasserhahn tropfte.

Da das Hotel nicht teuer war kann man keine Ansprüche stellen. Zimmer gross aber nicht sehr sauber und im älteren Zustand. Hat einen Pool ohne Liegestühle! Gross Frühstücksauswhal giebt es nicht: Donuts und ungesüsste Corn-Flakes.

In comparison to the price quite good place to stay. Breakfast only serials and donuts, but REALLY FRESH DELICIOUS donuts! Yummie :-)

I'm from the UK so haven't stayed in many US motels. I picked this one at the last minute as I needed somewhere to stay in the area and this was one of the few places without a big parking fee on top of the room rate for anyone arriving by car. It was kind of exciting to stay in a slightly dingy motel like you see in films - an excitement that was […] only augmented by the cigarette burns in the bedspread and mysterious marks on the towels. There was also nowhere in the bathroom to hang the towels while you're showering which seemed an unnecessary sacrifice. Breakfast was included but we chose to eat elsewhere. We had a peep in the breakfast room and there were not enough tables and the food on offer consisted of grey-looking cornflakes, coffee, orange juice and a selection of doughnuts. LA has much more to offer elsewhere! Given the price I wasn't expecting anywhere especially salubrious so I won't say I was especially disappointed, however I will probably try to book further in advance next time so I can find somewhere a little more upscale. They gave us a FREE upgrade, from one to three beds. Thats right 3 beds. Good hotel for the price. We drove, probably would NOT walk around in that neighborhood. Very happy with our stay.

The price is reasonable,the location is very convenient for driving and taking the bus, the breakfast is ok, the front desk service is ok, but the room facilities are the worst I have seen in the US,especially the room cleanning service is really bad, the towel is smelly with the pipelineis often blocked. We came to LA for a weekend getaway to attend a Hockey Game at the Staples Center. The close proximity to Downtown LA was fabulous. The room sheets had wet spots the first night and tiny pillows. We changed rooms and their was a used soap in the shower. Other than that the bed had no wet spots, the pillows were much larger and there was an extra pillow. […] The outlet by the sink area needed fixing. The Hotel served its purpose for having a place to stay. The Breakfast was ok. donuts, cereal, and juice. Some of the parking spaces at the Hotel were small. It is in the middle of crowd. The room was Dirty. AC was broken. Customer service was awful. The worst place ever.

If you cant find a hotel in all of L.A, stay here. I guess thats better than sleeping on the streets. but this place was horrible.

You would do well to pass this one by. It is cheap, but not cheap enough for the horribly rude employees. (They MUST all be related, or they would never hold a job.) So that being said, it wouldn't do to ask them to vacuum your room, clean the bathroom or provide some toilet paper. They just won't do it, or they will do a shoddy job, while giving you […] dirty looks the whole time. I don't know why hotels.com would even want to promote this kind of cheap filthy place, and that is EXACTLY what it is, make no mistake. Never seen so much cheap, drug addicted garbage in my life, and never hope to again. Stay away, if you know what is good for you, and CERTAINLY DON'T bring the kids, porn channel is NOT blocked! Although it is not a big fancy hotel, it is pretty close to everything. My father has to go to his monthly doctor's check-uo and there is no better place to stay.

Just looking for a cheap local place. It was that. The room was clean overall, but the bedding and towels were badly worn and stained. The towels in particular were thin, rough, stained, and a little tattered. Bed was big and comfy enough. Free Wi-fi. Toilet paper dispenser was broken. Rough, rest-stop quality, translucent toilet paper. Things that […] come into contact with one's body after being used by many others should feel clean and newish. :) Had it not been for these things, it would have been a nice place for the price. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms cleanliness were questionable at best. My reservation was for a non smoking room and they put us in a smoking room and it was disgusting and smells horribly of smoke the minute you walked in the door. We were able to change rooms the next day and it was 100 times better but there was a hole in the sheets […] and then that went all the way through the mattress so not sure how often they actually change out the sheet. 4 the price it was okay but not something I would do again I would pay the extra money to have a nicer place to stay at Mehr

Well aside from being in a very sketchy part of town the customer service was great. However our room had a bullet hole in the window and one of the channels was only playing porn. NOT a family hotel. But for the money for one night it was ok.

Room was dirty, only 1 bath towel, hair in the bath tub, no cold water from the sink that also had a broken faucet. Some lights didn't work in the room. Had to park across the street and walk over because there was no parking. I will not stay here again!

Another horrible experience in Hollywood. When we first arrived I thought the hotel was decent. The staff was not friendly, very rude people. The rooms where so so. Last day before we leave we find a bloody tampon and a condom wrapper under the bed. If I would have noticed this before I would have never stayed there.

the hotel was only a short distance from downtown, but a scary neighborhood. lots of homeless and shady characters, liquor store everywhere and trash overflowing. the hotel was very old and in need of major renovation. the continental breakfast was stale doughnuts and funny tasting orange juice. beds were springy and cable tv kept going out every 5-10 […] minutes... this hotel is inexpensive and somewhat convenient to downtown LA. they offer a very limited continental breakfast from 7-9 am. cable tv with some premium channels. phone in room but no outgoing local calls. the neighborhood surrounding the hotel is not the greatest. mini fridge in room. the overall quality of this hotel is 1/5-2 stars, but if you're […] a guy or group of guys its a cheap alternative. wouldn't really recommend to a female friend of mine. The hollywood inn express south was a nice and clean hotel. my family and i enjoyed the vacation. we went to hollywood and universal . the staff was nice enough to show us how to get around. the price was the best in the area an it was nice.

i arrived at 4am from a flight very tired and the desk clerk charged me an extra 50 dollars to be able to check in at that time or i would have to wait outside in my car till 2pm. i think that was a major ripoff...in the morning he knoced on my door at 11 on the dot screaming to check out...i was finishing up my bags and getting them all near the doorway, […] he saw me and he still screamed at me to leave becuase i was late doing my check out. i will never stay there again !!! i recomend any other hotel but that one. I can recomended The Hollywood Express Inn Hotel, cause it´s near from Citadel Outlets, but i think they need to put more attention in the cleaness in the rooms.

This place sucks. Extremely rude. Was getting ready at my check out time and the owner/employee said they'd get security if we weren't out in 5 minutes. Never have I been treated so bad at an inn. Better to just go to a cheaper hotel down the street and get better service.

This was probably a decent hotel in its day. Unfortunately the owners have clearly allowed it to become run down and not put much money or TLC into it. The hot water was usually gone by morning. The internet worked less than half the time. There was a hole punched in my bathroom door. There was no clock or clock-radio. The television was old and received […] only a few stations. Good as a 2 Star Hotel. Convenient location and great parking amenities. But the complimentary internet is nothing. I have almost no signal at the ground floor level. But I can still recommend this hotel.

The carpet needn to be removed! It's rancid and dd not meet a bearable standard, you know. And the bed cover did not have that new wash, smell. It's awfull and it felt dirty. And the worse was that incense smell in that room... eerie and I have the creeps while I was in there. I did not get a good night sleep! Management just need to get their act together […] to turn this around. I know they can do it! Mehr

There are no lamps in the rooms which might be unplugged or moved by a person disposed to do so. This is very significant. I stayed here by mistake (booked in a rush, accidentally mis-read as "Holiday Inn Express"). The staff was friendly enough, the price was cheap, and the location is central, convenient. I came away unscathed, but quickly upgraded […] to less icky-feeling accommodations for the remainder of my time in town. I would never recommend staying here, if you have the means to stay elsewhere. Mehr

The room is not so clean. It was so traffic outside. The staff are not friendly. Because of the traffic, the location is not so convenient. I am not so satisfied with our stay at this hotel.

Very convenient location, 2 blocks from freeway, 15 mins from Hollywood, 7 mins from downtown convention. They have free parking, breakfast, Wi-fi. Very courteous staff. Rooms are very clean. I will always stay here whenever I come to LA

1. The window had no lock so could be opened by anyone from the outside walkway. 2. The toilet paper holder was broken off the wall in the bathroom 3. You only get 2 towels and 1 wash cloth. They are smaller than a bath and slightly larger than a hand towel. There are not any towel bars in the sink area or in the bathroom where the tub shower is located 4. […] The free internet signal is so weak you cannot access email or web pages. 5. There is not any facial tissue in the rooms 6. They promised to install a window lock before my second night and promised again to buy one at the hardware store before my 3rd night but did not. When I complained again they went to take one out of another room and all the vacant rooms did not have one either. 7. There was no dead bolt or security lock on the door. Guess it doesn't doesn't matter since anyone who wants in could just open the window and climb through. 8. Handles were broken off the dresser drawers. 9. There was no remote control for the Television and only 5 of the cable channels worked - none of the local stations were available. Mehr

Grim-looking, run-down but rooms at back are quiet. Poor position: bad area, no decent food close-by & away from Hollywood action. Don't walk around area at night. Service ok. Would not stay there again

positives: the room had a king sized bed, bathroom, mini fridge, and a tv. negatives: i booked a non-smoking room, and when i arrived, it was clear that this room had been smoked in. there was even an ash try on the dresser. there were several small holes in my comforter; the tv stand was missing several knobs on its drawers; there was a chair with […] a broken back next to a writing table. this place is a decent stay if you are really on a budget, but in retrospect, i wish i had forked out the extra $10-15 for a slightly nicer room. avoid if possible.
