Bellevue Hotel - Dubrovnik

Schönes Hotel, gute Lage, eigener Strand, toller Ausblick (die Altstadt sieht man aber nicht), sehr gutes Restaurant - alles gut. Einzig doof war, dass wir zwar den Hoteltransport vom Flughafen zum Hotel und zurück zum Flughafen gebucht hatten. Der ist etwas teurer als ein normales Taxi, dafür hat der Fahrer etwas mehr Zeit und erzählt einem gleich […] noch was man wo sieht usw. Das war bei der Ankunft toll. Bei der Rückfahrt hat das Hotel dann aber doch nur ein "ganz normales" Taxi besorgt mit einem Fahrer, der es natürlich sehr eilig hat und ein Rauchertaxi mit Duftbäumen fuhr. Das ist zwar nicht wirklich schlimm, hatte ich angesichts des etwas höheren Preises aber doch anders erwartet. Mehr

This hotel was all around great and luxurious. The property itself has a view that can't be beat, the rooms are luxurious and so clean and they have all the amenities you need. The staff are really great as well and go out of their way to be helpful. Recommended! The rooms are small, the service is not really what you might expect from a 5-star. But, hey, who can be fussy about little details like that when you get this splendid location and magnificent views over the Adriatic? And at a very reasonable price. The place is small enough to feel boutiqesque - yet big enough to have all the aminities […] you need. Be sure to get a room with a balcony overlooking the sea. And don't miss the spa where you can it in the jacuzzi with a spectacular panorama over the turquoise waters of the Adriatic. And if the weather permits, the hotel's sceluded little beach is a gem. Service is nothing special (the staff doesen't even know how the technology in the rooms work), but breakfast is very good - the buffet is so well stocked that you don't really need the complimentary a la carte selection of omelettes and specialties that are brought to your table upon request. Didn't try the restaurant (the opions in town are too good) but the bar is reasonably priced and recommended for a nightcap on the terrace overlooking the sea. All in all a great place for a getaway. This is a very well located luxury hotel with excellent sea views from almost any room. Great service and friendly staff. Comfortable rooms, nice small SPA pool and jacuzzi/sauna and many health spa services. Excellent free wireless internet throughout, including 2 guest iPads at the lounge bar. Very small criticism: the lounge chairs are not comfortable. […] Also, choice of pay per view movies not good. Typically 6 year old movies. But these are just small items which can be improved. l would strongly recommend this hotel. Mehr

We really enjoyed our stay at the Bellevue - every room has a view of the water and the views are stunning. Breakfast was included (and very good) and the spa was excellent. My only criticism would be the quality of the WiFi (which is good in the lobby but weak in the rooms) - and they said they're working to improve it. Overall a great experienc […] e! Mehr

Staff extremely helpful, hotel in excellent condition & beautifully furnished/equipped. Ideal location for private hotel beach/cove. Only 20 min walk to Dubrovnik old town (more than stood up to its UNESCO site reputation) - nice walk too. Bus stop outside of hotel if you prefer. All in all was 'more than it said on the tin' & would definitely stay […] here again. Mehr

The Bellevue is a very comfortable hotel and is kept immaculately clean. The staff were always available and attentive without being obtrusive. The location places it about midway between the Old Town and the port of Gruz (around 10 minutes walk either way). Whilst the former is very much the magnet, a stroll down the hill followed by a walk around […] the harbour at Gruz is very enjoyable too. The views from the balcony of our room were superb and to go to sleep at night with the door open and the sound of waves lapping on the beach was magical. Swimming off the beach is great too but the hike back up to the room afterwards (the lift was out of order) was a bit more of a test than it might have been had we not tired ourselves out swimming. Breakfast was perfectly adequate but I'm not an expert as I rarely eat at that time of the day. We'd go back. Mehr

I stayed in the bellvue for the first week in august, I arranged to be collected from the airport by the hotel and a beautiful 7 series BMW came to collect us, which was very nice! ,arrived at hotel and staff opened car doors for us and took luggage and from that moment till the moment we left a week later the staff couldn't have been nicer to us ,they […] were very friendly ,very helpful.the room was cleaned every day, we had lovely view from our balcony overlooking the private beach and the bay.you use your room card to scan a button in the lift to bring you down to private beach, which is lovely as well. They left letter there for us hoping we had a nice honeymoon in their hotel and dubrovnik, which was nice. Its a nice 15 minute walk to old town ,but most nights coming back to hotel, its uphill, so we just got taxi for 50 kuna(7 euro) because we were so full from all the lovely food and drink! Anyway just like to thank the bellvue for making our honeymoon special, really is a lovely hotel and I hope one day to stay there again! Alan and Michelle Mehr

Great location, overlooks the sea (all rooms seem to have sea views too). easy to get to hotel's small private beach. was quiet so we always managed to get a sun lounger on the water edge. great breakfasts (we ate on balcony overlooking sea). 10 to 15 minute walk to old city or a quick bus ride. We had a great experience at this hotel! It is a beautiful property and the staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was pleasant. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

We stayed here for 5 nights in April so we avoided the crowds that comes with the high season. The hotel is located a pituresque 15 minute walk to the old town and to be honest it is a joy to stay outside the old town to get away from the tourist crowds. After a day in the old town, take a leisurely walk back to this perfectly positioned hotel on the […] edge of the bay, and relax in your fully air conditioned (quiet air conditioning too which was terrific!) room overlooking the sea. We paid a little extra to have a balcony and I would thoroughly recommend you do this. We had a few days of light rain and were able to sit on our balcony and relax and enjoy the views so the balcony is a must to get the most out of this hotel! Breakfast buffet comprised of a large range of foods, mainly cold mets, cheese and fruit as well as a selection of breads and cereals. They serve great strong coffee which is a must for me on holiday! We enjoyed breakfast on the terrace which overlooks the sea, so it is a truly romantic way to start your day. All in all I cannot fault this hotel, as the staff were friendly, helpful, very attentive and all spoke perfect English. Room service was impeccible and the timber floors meant the floors were washed daily and the room was immaculate! Bathroom toiletries were also very luxurious and it is all these little touches that make a good hotel into a great hotel. There is an atm and a grocery store and bakery all located a few minutes walk when you come out of the hotel and turn right towards to old town. This was really convenient for taking out extra cash, and buying some snacks to take back to our room in the evenings. I would certainly go back. We really enjoyed our stay in this Hotel.Worth booking a room with balcony .Staff very helpful.All you could want for breakfast.Relaxed atmosphere.Only drawback was the 15 min walk back after a day out but so easy to hop on a bus.

Hotel staffs were extremely kind, polite, yet friendly. I could rely on them whenever I needed help on my photo shooting, restaurants, day tours, directions...I would love to go back to the hotel when I visit Croatia again.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Bellevue. The position was lovely, in it's own peaceful cove with wonderful views, yet just minutes from the Old City. The staff were very warm and welcoming and the hotel facilities were great - a lovely terrace and restaurant by the beach, and an attractive pool and spa area, as well as a very pleasant restaurant […] and lounge/bar. The bedroom was a good size, long rather than wide, but not a very big bathroom, and also neither was particularly luxurious, as one would expect in a 5 star hotel. However, this is only a small moan - altogether we had a wonderful week, and look forward to returning in the future. Mehr

We had a superior room which included a balcony overlooking the sea. Standard rooms have sea view but no balcony. We had wine and cheese every evening on the balcony. We kept the door ajar in the evening (April) and listened to the surf. The staff was helpful and friendly, the breakfast was better than average, the bed was large, nice bath with L`Occitane […] toiletries, and relatively close to the old city of Dubrovnik. It was a 10-15 minute walk, with a bus stop just across the street if you needed one. The hotel is on a cliff, maybe 200 feet above the sea. The lobby is on the top floor and you take the elevator down to the rooms...our room was probably 150' above the sea. There is an elevator that takes you down to the beach (sandy/rocky), but private beach. Mehr

This hotel surprised me the minute we got dropped off by the driver. It is a modern, elegant hotel with a staff that is eager to see to your every need. It's situated about a 20 minute walk (downhill) to the Old Town. It's location on the hill overlooking the ocean is spectacular. On our return from the Old Town we just took a public bus (two stops) […] back to the hotel instead of walking. The meals at the hotel were nothing less than great. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer! Mehr

This was an unusually agreeable experience. The hotel has a really likeable mood, professional but not pretentious. A lovely hotel, well run, in a glorious setting.

Everything was fabuous! The staff were friendly and professional, english was well spoken by eveyone, the rooms were spacious and my view was sensational!!! The swimming pool set behind gian glass windows had amazing sea views and the private beach accessable from the hotle was great for a dip even though it was November. I can't wait to go back!

Hotel is situated between the Marina area and the superb Old Town, a pleasant 10/15 minute walk to each. Sea views are stunning and this modern hotel is maintained to an excellent standard and withjout exception, staff were very nice and helpful. We had a terrific 3 night break and would definitely return.

Excellent hotel, small private beach, indoor pool with jacuzzi, steamroom and sauna. Rooms comfortable and very clean. Drinks were expensive in hotel but you don't need to eat or drink there as plenty of restaurants and bars in Old town.

Hotel was beautiful. The view and location is incredible. Staff was the most helpful one we'd encountered after having been in Croatia for over a week and 3 other hotels. The rooms are somewhat small but ours had a balcony that more than made up for the size of the room. Great products in the bathroom as well. Highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed 2 nights at the Bellevue with our nearly 2 year old son. We really enjoyed our stay and had a wonderful experience relaxing in the hotel. The croatian summer was so hot that we spent a lot of time in the hotel, swimming in the pool and on the beach and only went into the city in the evenings and early mornings. The room and bathroom were spacious […] and we loved the view from our balcony - straight down to the beach. The hotel is located in a bay, so even though it is close to town, you don't see the city, just the sea. It took us about 20 minutes to walk down to the town (with a toddler) and about 5 minutes when we took a taxi. The staff were very helpful and friendly , for example organizing us a taxi with a baby seat to get to the airport, and returning toys which our son left all over the place. Mehr

The Hotel Bellevue was fantastic - not only was the room beautifully decorated, comfortable, with a sea view, but the service was fantastic. Everyone was very friendly and helpful - we got several excellent recommendations for activities in Dubrovnik. We would definitely stay there again, and recommend it without hesitation.

Location good - 15 walk to the old town or (easy bus ride) on a peaceful and quiet stunning cove. Hotels in town too noisy, Hotels on the Lapud Penninsula too far from town. Great staff and wonderful spa.

The Bellevue hotel was in a great location. It was a very pleasant walk to the old city. The hotel was clean, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was great and overall we had an extremely enjoyable stay in Dubrovnik.

This is a great hotel for a short break - excellent rooms veyr friendly and helpful staff, and good food - and the little beach is a bonus, as is the No 4 bus outside the door makes the old town very accessible

This hotel came recommended to me by a friend. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by an extremely courteous staff who did not mind that we were over 4 hours late to check in. For us personally the hotel lacked soul, but it was an amazing experience. The room was outstanding, the view was breathtaking, we had a swim first thing in the morning in the gorgeous view overlooking the sea, breakfast was fantastic and to enjoy it on the terrace outside in the sun, with such a beautiful view was amazing. The staff were very friendly […] and very helpful. Nobody made us feel uncomfortable. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds we've ever slept it. Overall very expensive but we can see why. Stayed for 4 nights end of June 09 and to say we were undecided at first between two hotels I am glad we chose the Belle Vue. Refurbished 2 years ago to a very good/high contemporary standard. Very polite, helpful and attentive staff (cannot name anytime where we didn't have great service with a smile) and for those who can't be bothered learning any […] basic Croatian words all the main staff speak very good English. Good choice of food for breakfast and the restaurant food (if you didn't fancy eating out) was very good (and at price of a reasonable private restaurant). Had to check out at 12 noon but flight wasn't until the evening so we relaxed on the beach deck all day then had nice shower etc in the hotel spa facilities all complimentary. Room was very clean, spacious with all facilities (no kettle for own quick brew I am afraid, you will have to use room service at your average room service costs) and all rooms have balcony and fantastic beach/sea view. Free wi-fi (as far as I was aware as never charged). Everything with the hotel during our stay was exactly what it said on the web brochure. A good location for 10 min walk to the old town and 15 min walk to the harbour for boat trips to any of the various islands (or 50-60 kuna taxi ride to either location). My wife and I would definately stay here again no problem. Mehr

Traveling extensively, it's rare that I am inspired to write about a hotel, however, this one is well worth it! This hotel completely exceeded my expectations. Beautifully situated on the cliffs overlooking an incredibly colored sea. The staff was very pleasant, personable and helpful. This hotel is an amazing property. My girlfriend and I went there for two days. As Americans, our only complaint was that they didn't really cater to you at all, which is what we expected for the price and the fact that it's located in a resort town. The prices are kind of hefty, but if you want to have a decent property in Dubrobvnik, you have to pay […] for it. We weren't really excited that we had to pay about $40 for a cab each way to/from the airport. We would imagine that a 5-star hotel would have a shuttle for a nominal fee, or even better, for free. The rooms have nice views. The beach (the main draw of the hotel for us) was nice (rocky beach though). The only problem is that the hotel's beachfront is adjacent to a public beach so if you want peace and quiet, probably not the beach for you. Local kids were swimming and loud. We were looking more for relaxation. The hotel's free breakfeast is basic, not aamazing. Any paid meal at the hotel was just a waste (expensive and bland--correction: Very EXPENSIVE). This is a decent hotel to stay in if you make a quick trip to Dubrovnik. No real draw to it other than that. Mehr
