It's very unnerving to come back to your room after a hard day's sightseeing and find your hotel room door standing open. When we called the front desk... to ask what was up, they said, "Well, did you leave it open?" Of course not! "Well, our maids are very conscientious about that sort of thing, so ..." Implication being that we had to have been at fault. This, despite maintenance coming in during the day to fix the noisy refrigerator we had complained about. Nothing was stolen, but a discount or even an apology would have been nice instead of an insult. von Cindy F aus Dallas, TX am 08.06.2013
