The service and front desk staff were fantastic - they answered all of our questions and were very helpful with some trip planning. The condition of the hotel is another story. They really shouldn't be allowing guests to stay until they've finished construction. They claim that it's 10am-9pm, but we had to call at least 1 night when it was still going […] on well after 10:30pm - I think they just worked until a guest called to complain. There also weren't items that I assumed every hotel had - toiletries, extra toilet paper, a bath mat, tissues, and a clock. We were assured all of the linens were clean, although there were some stains and some were a dingy white - possibly they don't use bleach, but it was still a bit icky. Our air conditioning also turned off all of the time, and the staff had a hard time figuring out why, although they did send in extra help and remote controls. The stairway is also a little treacherous - the top step is too short for a human foot - I actually fell down the first few stairs and got a huge gash in my calf from a piece of equipment/machinery that has remained on the landing. After that (which was witnessed by staff), they added a Caution sign. Mehr

have stayed three times now and the service and the staff are both very good. It is close to the main tourist sites and you can walk easily to them. The only downside at the moment is that the hotel is undergoing renovations and the noise and the dust is off putting. Otherwise a great hotel.

My wife and I stayed at the Residency Hotel in Colaba for 4 nights. The location is amazing, the service could not be better, and the breakfast is CHEAP! There was construction going on while we were there so I would suggest confirming that you DO NOT get put on a floor with construction. Other than that-great stay.

First of all the room was very tiny and noisy. There was hotel construction during the day and traffic/street noise almoust 24 hours... I can not say that this hotel is the cleanest hotel I have ever been. There was a bad smell coming from the bathroom. The only positive thing about this hotel was the staff, they were friendly and helpful.

My fiance chose this hotel after seeing the reviews (3.9 out of 5). The location was fine. It is really close to downtown and many of the main attractions (India Gate; Taj Mahal Hotel; Flora Fountain, etc.) The staff was really nice, helpful and accomodating. Lots of dust everywhere, and at times, the elevator (or "lift") was out of commission. The first room had dirty, dungey pillows, plus the shower curtain was disgusting. Also, no toilet paper which is par for the course here. Sometimes you get toilet paper; sometimes you don't. The comforter had holes in it. We asked for a second room because of the dust but the second room was only a slight step up from the last. The morale of the story is if you are on a limited budget, you could do worse than this place. But, if you can spring for a couple of bucks more, then stay elsewhere. Mehr

We have stayed in several hotels in India, this was definitely very expensive according to our standards. The hotel was in reconstruction in one floor so it was dusty. Our room was OK but towels and sheets had stains. The WC did not work properly. There was no free WiFi and even though it did not work properly. For that price we have gotten really nice […] hotels in other big cities in India... We got there because we read in Lonely Planet it was a good deal: it has been so far the only suggestion that Lonely Planet has missed... Mehr

This is my second stay at The Residency Hotel. While it isn’t glamorous, I still think that a good quality hotel for a 2.5 star. It’s clean and the staff are great. The breakfast is a buffet and is good value for Rs100. The location is also great and you can walk to most things from Victoria Terminus to Gateway of India. The only downside and I think […] that a lot of people comment of this too, is that the rooms are cosy. My only compliant this time was that I was opposite the lift, so there was a little bit of noise from that. So ask for a room away from the lift! Mehr

Good hotel although there was a lot of renovation work going on at the hotel on the first floor that we weren't made aware of before travelling. The noise was quite disrupting especially in the mornings when you wanted a lie in. On check in we found out that the room that we booked wasn't available and we were given a dingy twin room. After complaining, […] they said that we could have the suite room for one night, then our paid for room would be available the next day. I was not happy with this as having to move rooms was not what we wanted after travelling so far and long. They then let us keep the suite for the 4 nights. The room was clean, but it got uncomfortably hot and you couldn't survive without the air conditioning being on which wasn't good. There was also no window/ventilation fan in the bathroom. We have stayed several times at the Residency hotel. It is a good hotel, in Western standard. The service was very good and the reception efficient.

Staff were friendly and helpful, but room was grubby, fortunately I was on my own and had the choice of 2 beds in the room,one a bit off putting the other was very dirty as were the towels, however I understand Mumbai is expensive for accomadation. If you want western standard clean, you will have to spend more !

This place was OK. Not more. I preferred the one at the airport. I'm not usually bothered by noise, but this was over the top loud; I did not sleep all night. And it wasn't traffic noise that bothered me. I think that staff were using the room next to mine b/c the doorbell was ringing all night long -- doors opening and closing. And then the alarm went […] off periodically from 4 am until I finally stopped trying to sleep around 7. The room was very small (which is fine). I found a cockroach on my toothbrush. My Internet was shut off an hour before I reached the time limit -- in the middle of a conversation with my family. I think I just had a bad room or a bad night. Location was very good for work. If you are looking for luxury then this isn't the place for you - but th eprice isn't a luxury price! Clean, comfortable and welcoming - a great base for exploring Mumbai. Not far from the gateway to India and the 'drive'. Taxis outside - some great restaurants - try Mahesh near Citibank. Breakfast is cheap 80 rupees - and more than enough to satisfy […] - and served up with a smile. Would definitely book there again! Mehr

The location of this hotel is perfect. You will find all imporatnt places around your hotel at walking distance. Don't expect luxury, but the staff is very helpfull and service minded.

Hotel is well located - close to Victoria station and the many markets. Food at the hotel was surburb!!! And the quantity amazing - food was hot, plentiful and arrived with rice and nan. No alcohol beverages - no biggie for us. Room was a bit tired and would need updated. Washroom was dated but otherwise clean. The towels need to be changed - they looked […] grey and tired. Airconditioning was adequate. Queen bed - a little lumpy but comfortable enough. Extremely good value for the money. We love to walk and walked to Gateway to India and surrounding hotels - cabs plentiful and cheep ($2 ride just about anywhere). I'd stay there again. Staff were very welcoming. Mehr

Great location, walking distance to Mumbai's famous CST train station. It is also near many shops and restaurants in various budgets. The hotel itself is all right. The room is quite small but clean.

Läget i Mumbai Fort distriktet är bra. Det är gångavstånd till de flesta sevärdheter och det är ett "säkert" område. Det tar ungefär en timme dit från flygplatsen och om taxichauffören frågar så välj att ta vägen över "Sea bridge" som förvisso är 50 Rupies dyrare, men sparar dig 20 minuter.  En taxi med AC från flygplatsen bör kosta cirka 500 Rupies […] och det kan vara en fördel att låta hotellet beställa den då chaufförerna utanför kan vara rätt aggresiva för att få dig att åka med. Rummen är små och men funktionella, med safety box, tv, vattenkokare, AC, takfläkt och man får dessutom en gratis dagstidning på morgonen. De har inte gratis Wi-Fi på rummen, men det finns i receptionen samt två datorer att nyttja. Sängarna är dock i minsta laget, så välj hellre två "Single beds" än den "King-Size" som erbjuds.  Det är lyhört från gatan med trafikljud, ylande hundar och annat. Frukost ingår inte i priset, men det finns för 100 Rupies i hotellets restaurang en frukost-buffé, i kontinental stil, som är helt ok.  Mehr

Hotellets placering är perfekt med gångavstånd till det mesta av sevärdheter i Fort, Colaba, Churgate och tom Chowpatty om man är van att promenera. Det är också läget som är det bästa med detta hotell. Vårt rum var två trappor upp. Hela våningen en trappa upp var en byggarbetsplats och i vilket land som helst i västvärlden hade ett hotell stängt under […] en så omfattande renovering! En dag var det lukt av diesel som spreds till alla våningar. Schysst frukost restaurang. Trevlig personal. Gratis WiFi och lån av dator för e-mail läsning. Mehr

les chambres donnant sur la rue sont très bruyantes,préferez les chambres sur le côté. acceuil très sympa,le personnel à la réception est très éfficace et serviable.Navette de taxi pour l'aéroport.

以這樣的價錢，在孟買是非常棒的飯店，冷氣運轉非常好，服務人員非常非常親切，附近的餐館不少相對較便宜方便，也有小吃路邊攤，走到CST站約5分鐘即可到達，到church gate站也只要10分鐘，基本上孟買市區的景點都可以用走的到達~房間也非常大，連續住兩夜，也有清潔人員更換浴巾、整理床單，飯店也提供公定價格的計程車叫車服務，真的很棒!

This hotel is value for money. People describe it as a decent business hotel and that it is! It is located in the Fort area which is relatively close to all the attractions such as the gateway of India. However you will have to take a taxi everywhere. The rooms vary in size. The first room we got was very small and the bathroom even smaller. However […] after requesting a bigger room the manager was kind enough to show as a couple of options and let us choose the one we wanted. This was great service! The staff were very friendly indeed and always willing to help. The breakfast was adequate with fruit, toast, eggs etc. There were a couple of computers for internet use in the lobby and place had wifi. However you had to pay separately for wifi. Mehr

Bra läge, trevlig personal och rent och fräscht. Klart bästa hotell jag bott på i Mumbai.

Vi bodde två nätter i rum 402 den 1-2/10 2009 och fick ett rum som hade invigts 10 dagar tidigare. Vi blev mycket imponerade över att få ett så fint rum för denna rimliga peng i annars dyra Mumbai! Det var blänkande marmor, designade skinndetaljer och snygga glasinläggningar. T.o.m. en hemmabioanläggning med ett surroundsystem som de stackars bagagekillarna […] inte förstod ett dyft om hur de skulle demonstrera... =) Kanonbra värde för pengarna! Vi kommer definitivt att bo här igen när vi kommer tillbaka till Mumbai! Mehr
