Ich war in einem Doppelzimmer mit Bad und Toilette. Das Bett war angenehm. Es gab einen Fernseher und eine Klimaanlage. Im Großen und Ganzen war der Aufenthalt dort sehr schön, vor allem die netten Bekanntschaften, die ich dabei gemacht habe.

Das Hotel liegt zentral im Herzen von Madrid in der Altstadt. Wir waren 8 Nächte dort und haben die Zeit sehr genossen. Das Personal spricht Englisch und ist sehr entgegenkommend. Die Zimmer sind sauber und komfortabel. Wir hatten ein Zimmer zum überdachten Innenhof, dadurch war das Zimmer auch bei geöffneten Fenstern immer sehr warm. Es konnte aber klimatisiert werden. Wir werden es auf jeden Fall im nächsten Urlaub wieder nehemen.

Alles Top! Einzige Punkte, die man bedenken sollte: Fahrt ins Zentrum dauert mit Bus (gleich um die Ecke; auch sehr günstiger Transport zum Flughafen) oder Metro (15min entfernt) etwa eine halbe Stunde. In Hotelnähe gibt es nur wenige, teure Retaurants, so dass man abends schon in der Stadtmitte essen sollte. Zwei Straßen weiter gibt es jedoch einen Supermarkt. Würde auf jeden Fall wieder!

De las Letras Restaurant – Serviert zeitgenössische Speisen mit frischen und saisonalen Produkten. Die Speise- und Weinkarte wechselt zwei Mal im Jahr.
De las Letras Lounge – Diese Lounge mit entspannter Atmosphäre befindet sich neben dem Restaurant. Parkettfußboden, Sofas und Schaukelstühle des Designers Eames sind charakteristisch für die Einrichtung. Frühstück, Snacks und Speisen sind den ganzen Tag über erhältlich. Innovative Cocktails und frisch gemixte Drinks werden an einer langen Edelstahl-Bar serviert. Täglich bis spät in die Nacht geöffnet, mit Live-DJ von Donnerstag bis Samstag.
Ático De las Letras – Die auf der 7. Etage gelegene Bar bietet einen beeindruckenden Ausblick auf die Stadt. Abends können die Gäste der DJ-Live-Musik lauschen und dabei einen köstlichen Cocktail genießen. Ein spezielles Snack-Menü ist den ganzen Tag über erhältlich.
Bocablo – an diesem ruhigen und eleganten Ort werden täglich Frühstück und Snacks serviert. Abends verwandelt sich das Bocablo in eine lebendige Lounge.
Der einen Kilometer vom Hotel entfernt gelegene grüne Retiro-Park bietet einen großen See mit Bootsverleih, Wege zum Joggen, Skaten und Fahrradfahren sowie Boule-Plätze und ein Sportcenter mit Tennis- und Fußballplätzen.

Das Stadtviertel Chueca, das in den 1980er Jahren noch sehr heruntergekommen war, hat sich in den letzten Jahren zu einem modernen Viertel mit Homosexuellenszene gemausert. Mittelpunkt dieses Viertels ist der Plaza de Chueca mit unzähligen Terrassen, Bars und Clubs. Die umliegenden Straßen bieten eine Vielzahl trendiger Geschäfte und Restaurants sowie traditioneller Tapasbars. Besucher sollten sich das Museo Municipal (Stadtmuseum) in der Calle Fuencarral mit seinem bezaubernden Eingang im Barockstil und den Habsburger Schätzen auf keinen Fall entgehen lassen.

Frühstücksbuffet ist für 18 Euro viel zu teuer, für das, was geboten wird. Schöne Dachterrasse. Die Zimmer haben keine komplette Verdunklungsmöglichkeit, hier wäre sehr leicht Abhilfe zu schaffen.

"zentrale und gute Lage"
Das Hotel liegt zentral und ist mit der Metro vom Flughafen aus gut zu erreichen. Leider lag unser Zimmer zur Straße (Grand Via), sodass der Lärm uns schon sehr gestört hat. Läßt man die Fenster zu - geht es einigermaßen. Frühstück hattenw ir nicht gebucht, das fanden wir aber auch nicht schlimm, so haben wir dann einige nette Cafes kennengelernt. die stark befahrene Strasse ist sehr gut zu hören. Wir waren jedoch so müde, dass uns dies nicht weiter gestört hat.

Sogar die Standardzimmer sind sehr gross, bequeme Betten, Sitzecke, kleiner Balkon, modernes Badezimmer mit grossem Spiegel, Badewanne mit Handbrause. Sehr schöne Dachterrasse im 7. Stock mit kleiner Bar. Freundliches, kompetentes Personal. Gratis Internet. Abwechslungsreiches, feines Frühstück. Optimale Lage, Gran Via liegt vor der Nase. Walking distance to most of Madrid's main attractions. Friendly staff. Lounge on main floor is a great spot for relaxing and people watching while having some drinks. Room was modern, spacious and very comfortable. Would book this hotel again without question.

Our 4th time in Madrid and booked this hotel to be a little closer to the attractions, restaurants and night life. PERFECT location GREAT staff and TERRIFIC room. Upgraded to a terrace suite for Eur35/night which included breakfast for 2 delivered to the room and internet - so a great deal just for that. However, the terrace was a haven in the midst […] of the city. Great private space with superb views and what a great find! Will DEFINITELY return here when next in Madrid. Staff helpful to a fault and showed us choice of rooms prior to the upgrade. Printed boarding cards for us. Booked restaurants and shows - gaveexcellent advice and always super friendly. The hotel was within walking distance to all sights and shopping - making it very convenient for touring Madrid. No difficulty with water temperature or water pressure. The restaurant food quality and presentation was excellent. A complimentary appetizer sample was a nice surprise and delicious. The only negative of the hotel was the lighting in […] the room. We liked this modern stylish hotel. The lobby was under construction so we had to hang out in roof terrace but otherwise great. Great location close to sights and metro and even Starbucks. Good wifi.

Well located to all top 10 sights. Walking distance to The Prado and The Thyssen art museums. 1+ blocks to the Gran Via Metro. 4 blocks to Puerta del Sol. 10 minute walk from Plaza Cibelles where the Airport bus stops. An excellent hotel in an excellent location. Very clean, quiet and stylish. The bed was a bit too soft for my taste and the hotel was being renovated. There were no books in the library and the gym and the spa were not in operation.

"EXCELLENT HOTEL"
This is one of the nicest hotels where I have ever stayed. Everything was clean and very pretty. We had our own balcony overlooking the street. I could not have been happier with this hotel. The ceilings in the room were really high, and the color scheme was amazing.
Large room with fine linens and amenities. Clean bathroom with nice toilet items. Excellent breakfast buffet. Very courteous staff and prompt service.

The hotel is in the heart of Madrid which is very convenient. It is an old building which is renovated but the old stile is preserved and the mix of old and modern style is quite cool. The roof top palace is very nice to hang out and have a drink before going out. When we arrived our room had smoky smell so we had to change room. The breakfast is pricey […] (16€) compared to the cafes in the streets but it was quite good. There is no Spa area. Las Lettres is an excellent place to stay for a weekend trip. Mehr

Very modern re-decarted rooms, high ceilings and spacious, in an old building. Excellent location for site seeing close to old town Madrid, Mercado de San Miguel, Plaza Espana, etc. The out door terrace bar on the roof was delightful and is a must if you go. We took the metro from the airport to one block away from the hotel (40 minutes and three changes) […] and the yellow Ali bus from two blocks away back to Barajas airport -- the bus was easier and we got to see more of Madrid. Beautiful old details (doors, iron decoration) in the common areas, combined with crisp, spacious modern rooms and friendly service made this a great place to stay in central Madrid. The rooftop terrace bar was a great place to have a drink and relax. Highly recommended.

Really great hotel in a central location, on a main shopping street (Gran Via) and across from the Chueca area of the city. Rooms were compact, but with high ceilings and spacious bathrooms. "Great hotel and nice location"
The only con (if you can call it a con) is that the hotel was a little older and you might notice it here and there. BUT, it is not a big deal, because there are so many great things about De Las Letras H&R. Great location – it is literally in the city center and walking distance to nearly everything. There are at least 2 metro stops within two blocks. […] We walked everywhere and had no problems seeing all the sights. The only time we took a metro was to visit the business district. The hotel was clean and our room was very interesting. I really liked it, and it was the largest room of the three hotels we stayed in during our visit to Spain. Oh, and having a balcony was really nice too. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Check-in and checkout was easy. The price was great and the restaurant was excellent too. Usually I don’t spend time in the hotel bar or restaurant, but I did stop in this one a couple of times. Mixed drinks are pricey, but wine and sushi (yes, sushi) were priced moderately. Overall, I really liked the fact that this hotel was slightly offbeat, using vibrant colors in the rooms and blue lights in the elevator. I would certainly recommend it to anyone. Mehr

Reception staff are the best. They are knowledgeable, helpful and very pleasant despite how busy they are. We liked our room and the convenient bathroom. The only suggestion would be that more light be available in the room as needed.
