Inn By The Lake - South Lake Tahoe

Internet funktionierte nur teilweise bis sehr langsam. Poolanlage ist schön und gepflegt. Service war nur an der Rezeption vorhanden und das auch eher hilfsmässig. Lage ist super. Preis fanden wir gesamt nicht gerechtfertigt / zu teuer. WIe gesagt: für eine Nacht aber mal ok.

This place was great. Clean, comfortable and right across the street from the lake. The staff was friendly and the room was very quiet.

Stayed here only one night....it is about 6 minutes from the main hotels in Tahoe. Not a huge problem...Our lake view was BEAUTIFUL!!! There was a patio which was nice to soak in the fresh air. The pool was closed but the Hot tub was opened. Didn't use the gym. Enjoyed the stay and was for a good price.

We were there for Easter wknd, 2 nites. Room was smallish but nice with refer , M/wave oven and a non Flat screen tv.Attached deck was nice place to relax outside w/ drink and book.On the back side the view is of Parking lot and Trailer Park, but if you can look up, you can see the slopes of Heavenly. The location was very convenient for the snowboarders […] in our group that went to Heavenly. We give the 2 tier spa 5 stars.Also the Bear beach Rest. was top notch in food and service, even with our large group of Family and friends. The Inn By The Lake staff, was nice and we decided that we'll be back next trip. Mehr

Great hot tub, very friendly service. Slightly out dated rooms but very clean.

my girlfriend and i have been to this hotel 3 years in a row now and it has been more amazing each time! With a beautiful view of the lake from the room and the double layer hot tub that is always ready to use, whats not to like?! The beds are large and comfortable and it is close to everything you need.

We had a very short stay at this hotel (2 nights) and really didn't spend a lot of time in the room. Definitely not the most spacious rooms in Tahoe, but for the price & location you can't complain. The 2 level hot tub was definitely the highlight of the hotel. Really good service, only suggestion/request would be better TV's (currently have 32" tu […] bes). Mehr

I had wanted to stay there for YEARS! The room was attractive and very clean and the bed was comfortable. However, the room was so HOT (in the dead of winter.) Turning on the AC only made it hotter. We had to keep open the patio door while it was snowing just to maintain a breathable temperature.

My stay would have been better had my keycard worked. I had to get a new on 3 times and I stayed there 2 nights. Other wise our stay was uneventful and the restaurant next door was good. Would stay there again,

The overall condition of this hotel is "dated" and the photos were very misleading. It sits across a very busy road from the lake and only the king suites have a lake facing views...however you need to look across the street too so it didn't matter. We chose to stay in our queen room overlooking the beautiful back parking lot and crumby homes and trailers....not […] good but we didn't stay in our room very much thank God! Tahoe is still very beautiful and we'll look elsewhere when staying again. Mehr

We decide to go away at the last minute, we read the reviews and decided to stay at Inn by the Lake. Within 5min of entering our room we called the front desk for a room change. The guests on the third floor were running back and forth and the toilet looked like it had not seen a bowl brush in a month. We were moved to another room on the third floor. […] This was considered an upgrade because of the great view of the lake. Once again I found that the toilet was not cleaned properly. We were only there for one night and walking distance to Safeway for cleaning supplies so I did not complain. We were very disappointed that we were not able to make tea or coffee even though they gave us supplies. The table that the coffee pot sat on did not have a plug near it so we had to set it on the floor next to the bed. We added water, plugged it in and turned it on. We found that the coffee pot did not work it only created steam, no hot water. Plugging our laptop or cell phones for charging was an issue as well since there was only one plug available and that was next to the bed. I might recommend for a ski trip but not for a romantic getaway. Pillows had no support, work up with a headache and stiff neck. Upon check out I was already to tell the young lady at the desk how my stay was, but she was more concerned about the line of people behind me commented something about a third party billing and said have a nice day. However, the restaurant next door has great food. Mehr

Wonderful staff, closest you can get to the lake and great amenities (hot tub and heated pool are huge bonuses). I will stay there everytime I come back to Lake Tahoe.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and the lake and nearby accommodations were wonderful.

The hotel is situated just across the road from the lake, so "lake View" means also road noise. We better recommend the rooms by the pool. The carpets on our room smell like mold and should be replaced.

Only issue was the room heater didn't put out much heat. Everything else was excellent.

Great view service and location u will love the place

We stayed one night after a wedding. The staff at check in and check out were very nice and welcoming. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. We would stay here again.

Good location to S. L. Tahoe service. Convenient on HWY 50. Accommodations were fine. Service was without smiles or "how may I help you." Sort of a do it yourself attitude rather than here's what I can do for you. Would stay again.

I really enjoyed my stay here the room was nice and clean they had a fridge & microwave and a balcony. Perfect for me and my friends to hang out in and have good times. Also within walking distance of local restaurants and bars. Will stay again.

Room was big and we had a great view of the pines and the lake in the distance. The grounds are well maintained. Parking convenient and handicap access good. Staff friendly and helpful. Provided guests with hotdogs and a view of the fireworks. Would go back.

If you're sensitive to noise, I would recommend thinking twice before booking this hotel. The walls are pretty thin and if your room is not on the top floor you'd hear their every step with a creaking noise of an old house. So, if you get unlucky with your neighbors, forget about getting a good night's sleep! Besides the noise issue everything else […] was good for a 3-star Inn. Mehr

great hotel if you like it calm and relaxed at a reasonable rate ! We were for 3 nights at Lake Tahoe end Aug.2011 Reception desk: friendly and helpful Room. clean and nice (plus balcony) Location: real close to the Lake SPA: nice pool plus hot tub If we ever come back to South Lake Tahoe - that will be the hotel of choice

The staff is very friendly and helpful. My fiance and I greatly enjoy staying there. The pool and hot tub area are beautiful, we especially like the dual stage hot tub.

It was clean, had decent amenities, plenty of parking good location. Nothing super luxurious but delivered in all aspects for the price.

We stayed two nights and enjoyed the gorgeous view of Lake Tahoe from our balcony. The traffic noise was a factor, but we easily ignored it and just closed the door at night. Great pool and jacuzzi. A pleasant stay overall and a good value for the cost.

We were in one of the least expensive first floor rooms in the back of the pool building looking out at the back parking lot...but this is what we expected. Room was very comfortable except the floor joyces from the room above squeaked everytime someone moved. In all fairness, we learned to live with it and did not complain to the desk or ask to be […] moved. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean. We would return. Mehr

Excellent hotel. Beautifully located right off of Lake Tahoe. Would definitely stay there again.

Older hotel, but it has been updated. We paid for a lake view and actually had a full lake view. It is on a main thoroughfare (Hwy 50), but that was not a problem for us. Bike path is very accessible, although Cal Trans is currently making improvements to the road and does affect the bike path for short segments. If you have children there is bowling, […] miniature golf, beaches and water sports nearby. We would stay there again. Mehr

This hotel was ok. The rooms are somewhat old. The view is very nice, but since it's on the main street in town, it's also very noisy. The hot tub and pool were very nice. Overall, it's somewhat overpriced.

The photo and the name give the impression that the hotel is on the lake. It is not. It is on a busy street. The bed was poorly made - the bottom sheet seemed too small and kept slipping off, so that I slept directly on the mattress. My husband had several bites on his leg: fleas or mosquitos?

Dont get fooled by the boutique in the name of the hotel. However, this hotel is clean, nice, convenient, free parking, free good wireless and great location. The hotel staff was not uber polite, but not rude either. They have some discounted tickets available for cruise and the gondola rides which was good. The hotel is a little away from the center […] of the town where most shops are, this can be a good thing or bad depending on who you ask. Mehr

Hotel was undergoing minor maintenance; my balcony's floor boards were weeping sap. The paint was bubbling over and sticky. made for a barefoot on the balcony uncomfortable and the wine a bit bitter.

I thought the rooms to be very comfortable and very quite through out the night. I hate it when you are kept all night long because other guest are very loud or the traffic is loud. This was in a not the case. I will stay again in the future.

Nothing too fancy, nice and clean and right by the lake.

This hotel was a very good value for the location and the amenities. Located right on the lake and very close to major casinos (without being in a casino), great food and family fun places such as a bowling alley and mini-golf. The swimming pool and spa were very clean and lovely. The only negative was that our room seemed a little run-down...could […] have used new carpets and maybe a little updating, IMO. Mehr
