Casanova Suites on the Beach - Miami Beach

Insgesamt okay, aber bei weitem nicht so toll wie die Fotos vermuten lassen. Das Hotel ist nicht gut gepflegt, das merkt man im Aufzug, auf der Dachterasse, und im Zimmer. Alles wirkt so, als ob es mal schön war aber jetzt ein bisschen heruntergekommen ist. Die Dachterasse wirkte in Natura etwas schäbig - gar nicht so wie auf dem Foto. Die Sitzmöbel […] im Zimmer waren teilweise sehr fleckig (verschiedenste Arten von Flecken...). Unser Zimmer war mit Blick auf dreckige Hinterhöfe und Häuserwände, dafür war es einigermaßen ruhig. Bett und Bad wirkten aber sauber. Die Suite war geräumig und soweit gut ausgestattet. Klimaanlage funktionierte gut und geräuscharm. Aber insgesamt wollte ich hier nicht länger als 1-2 Nächte bleiben. Der dunkle, versteckte Seiteneingang des Hotels (das ist der Haupteingang!), der schäbige Aufzug, die drei Innenschlösser an der Zimmertür wirken insgesamt unheimlig und nicht einladend. Wir können das Hotel empfehlen. Die Lage ist einfach super - direkt am Ocean Drive. Zum Strand muss man nur die Strasse vor dem Hotel überqueren und dann ist man auch schon da. Da man in der Suite auch eine Küche hat, kann man sich selber verpflegen. Ein Supermarkt (Walgreens) ist gleich um die Ecke. Banken und sonstige Shops (Klamotten, Schuhe, ...) […] sind auch in der direkten Umgebung! Mehr

My wife and I have stayed @ numerous hotels in South Beach over the course of annual visits the past 15 years. Hotels in the prime location of SoBe are typically small, old and overpriced. Casanova suites were spacious, updated and for the location, one of the best values, bar none. Went to south beach with about seven friends for spring break and was fortunate enough to get a reservation at this hotel. The suites are spacious, clean, reasonable, and overall amazing for South Beach. It was located right on Ocean Drive, which is where everything is at (wet willies, mangos, etc.) The pool and roof area were remarkable and the ocean […] view from our suite was just breathtaking. The staff was great and helped with everything. They allowed us to keep our luggage at the hotel before check in and after check out so that we wouldn't have to lug around suitcases until we had to board our late flight. I called in advance to inquiry about an extra persons fee and management really cared and accommodated the situation. The weekend manager also recommended some places to visit both in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, which was extremely helpful. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone planning to going to South Beach. Currently in the works of planning Miami round 2 at the Casanova Suites. =) Mehr

Definitely recommend this hotel. I was worried at first because I nearly missed the tiny ramp walkway you have to go down to get to the hotel lobby, & then the lobby & elevator were in serious need of cleaning/decorating/upkeep BUT once I got to my room I was pleasantly surprised... There was a USED CONDOM under our mattress. We arrived LATE saturday night (1am) so sunday we did not request room service because it was 'clean' from the day before. So, when we woke up monday morning, the mattress I guess had moved a little. I woke up to a used condom in between the sheets. It was disgusting and the maid tried to put the blame on […] us because we did not request room service. but again, we did not request it because we did not make a mess due to our late arrival. Took my wife here for my return to Miami after 20+ years away. The hotel is very clean even though they are in the middle of construction. The elevator was being upgraded during our stay causing us to have to lug our belongings up and down the stairs; thus the lower maintenance score. Aside from that we really enjoyed the large apartment-like room. […] Even a nice kitchen and living area. Most Miami Beach hotels are historic but run-down. This one is clean, historic looking and in a great location in the middle of high-energy South Beach. If you don't want the hustle bustle, this is not your place. Bu If you do, it's perfect. If you do not have a sea view room (my 404 room isn't)) distance from the other building by about 1 meter (I gasped for air). Very noisy in the early morning. Wifi signal virtually nonexistent. It can only be recommended for holiday travelers not for business.

Great value, located directly across from the beach and on top of several nice restaurants. Room and service was truly terrific. But had I not already had a reservation, the access, ramp, lobby and side room would have made shop elsewhere

Stayed ther 4 days in February. Good location, a bit noisy sorroundings, restoraunts all around and a club on first floor, greate for night public. Beach is just accrose the street. Not all rooms have view, some are just opposite to the next hotel, only few meters apart, so you have to close the window for privacy. Great Location, Good Comfortable accomadations and friendly staff. Thanks to this hotel my Girlfriend told me she loves me.

A roomy suite placed on ocean drive. Good standard with kitchen and dishwasher. Pool on the roof over looking ocean drive. .

A minute-walk to the beach. Excellent location! Can be a bit noisy with music blaring from the nearby bars and restaurants at night. But the music stops around midnight.

We were overall very satisfied with the hotel. It isn't a very big hotel, with the entrance being a cozy walkway through two restaurants. Once you get into your room however, you will be pleasantly surprised at the quality of the finishing, the beds, and the decoration. He was very forthcoming with the information and help which made our entire experience at South Beach Miami all the more pleasant. The only criticism is that there were still construction works going on, and the elevator isn't in the best conditions, with the elevator button lights working only occasionally. Yet, if one can close their eyes to these superficial inconveniences, everything else was great - the hotel stay was a pleasant and most comfortable one, the location was fantastic with you a stone's throw away from South Beach, and a row of conveniently located and happening restaurants. I frequent miami beach several times per year, and this hotel is perfect for everyone, from family to partying trips. walk to everything and the staff is very helpful and considerate. If you want to get sleep during the nights don't get ocean front common-sense miami doesn't sleep.

The hotel appears to be converted apartments, so the space was awesome because we had our 4 children with us. It must have been 1000 sq. ft. with two full baths. The location was a mixed blessing...you look out your window and you are on Ocean Drive in the heart of South Beach, and the Atlantic Ocean greets you...down stairs are the restaurants and […] bars...awesome....unless you have younger kids and dont want to expose them to the "younger crowd" that hangs out on Ocean Dr. And the noise from the music and chatter will keep you awake. Also, there is no pool which was a disappointment... I would say if two couples wanted to spend some time in SoBe...this is THE hotel to go to..but a family with kids...unless you MUST be right in the thick of it...I suggest going up the road to a more traditional type hotel resort. The hotel was nice but the supervisor, whom was always there always knew what everyone was doing because they have cameras allll over the place. Before the elevator opened all the way in the reception area, he knew already what you had done, what you were wearing, how many people were with you, etc. They were always one step ahead of you. I was quite apprehensive booking this hotel due to some negative reviews. but they were untrue yes the lobby is under construction and theres a side entrance but I only noticed thanks to a review. the photos due not do justice . the room is huge . kitchen no stove but its a.crime to cook with the surronding fine dining . but u have a full fridge and […] microwave to heat up leftovers and snacks. I did not book a ocean front so I had a "step out balcony" which is literally one step and my fiance would scoot over wallking sideways no room what so ever but we needed it for a quick cigarette and an ocean breeze so if a full balcony is important then book the ocean front ... the offer beach.chairs to carry to the sand but were out. breakfast is 7 dolllars but its a better deal to get it directly from restaurant . super comfy bed . sofa bed surprisingly comfy as well. the ceiling is painted everything is very deco. rooftop pool was very nice amazing view with july 4 fireworks. hurricane sound proof windows blocked all possible noise from street amazing location will stay again Mehr

Very good located on Ocean Drive near the beach. We liked the hotel and the front desk was very helpful. The only negative thing was the noisy surroundings but I believe you have to live with it as it is located on the Ocean drive. Nice that we had a pool on the roof but it could have been better maintained and cleaned.

Overall it was nice for the location. Felt more like a used condo than a nice hotel. Still under construction so you have to enter in the basement where they have set up a make shift check in counter. The elevator was slow, the lock on my door was broken and the window in my room was also broken, it was out of its track so it let in hot air from outside. […] Great location though, it was nice to walk across the street to the beach. It was loud till all hours of the night though. Also i pulled up to valet and wanted to pay for the duration of my stay, however didn't have that much cash on me, so I wanted to pay with my credit card. The valet guy made me ride with him to the garage, which was only 3 blocks away to pay with my credit card and then made me walk back. In hindsight I would have just parked in the garage myself as it was $10 a day cheaper to park your self. If you are looking for comfort I wouldn't stay here, its good if you are looking for the heart of south beach with close beach access. Mehr

Facilities weren't as described (i.e. the kitchen was just a fridge and microwave with a coffee machine. The pool can't be used after sunset. But the managers did everything to resolve it.

There were tiny ants in the bathtub. (Okay, it's South Florida, but still.) The polished granite floors are not a good idea for a hotel by the beach--the first time you get back, there's sand all over the floor for the rest of your stay, and if you turn off the air conditioner and open the window-doors, slippery condensation forms. Not enough lights […] to read by at night. Plumbing fixtures were loose. On the plus side, the room was huge, with a (partial) view of the ocean across the street, the bed was comfortable, there was a refrigerator (not a minibar fridge) and the air conditioning was powerful and refreshing. Also, they will lend you a beach towel or beach chair and were relatively accommodating to a special request. Wi-fi is free and works as expected. Mehr

IT was a great find. It will become my 1st hotel choice when in miami. once the lounge is complete it will reach it full potential. love it over all and the suites are amazing

As expected the lobby was under construction. The person at Check in was very nice. Once we got to our room we were simply blown away at how nice and big it was, we got the 2 bedroom ocean view suite. For the price it was so worth it. The only problem was with how in your business they were, we had a couple of guys visit and then leave, and they questioned […] us about it. I'm sorry but that has never happened to me anywhere I felt as if I was in high school. I know this is a little personal but they were all up in it, it just annoyed me so much. Besides that the stay was pleasant I loved loved loved the location, as a local I really appreciated where it was, right infront of the beach close to stores and a ton of restaurants. Mehr

Rooms are quite large and very nice. Place could really use a paint job all over. Location very busy and noisy sometimes all night long. View of the beach is nice and rooftop pool is neat.

When we stood in front of the hotel we thought it was closed. No hotel sign, just a small sign pointing the way to reception. The reception area is in the 'basement' and can only be accessed via a side entrance. The reception area was pretty shocking: dirty, unattended, doggy. Check-in was friendly and efficient. When entering our room (oceanfront with […] balcony) we were very pleasantly surprised. Nice, spacious room with separate bedroom, modern kitchen, good beds, clean, and a balcony facing the ocean (there are not many hotel rooms available with a balcony on Ocean Avenue). The area is busy and noisy, but this was to be expected. Location is fantastic: across the street you are at the beach, along Ocean Avenue there are tons of restaurants, shopping is on Collins Avenue and to the Marina it's a pleasant 20 minute walk. Downside: no parking available. We decided to park in garage about 100 meters away from the hotel. We payed 56 USD for three days which is cheaper than the 30 USD valet parking. Overall we had a great time. Don't be shocked by the outside or the reception. The rooms are really nice, staff is pretty friendly and value for money is good. Mehr

I was surprised to find the main floor front lobby under major construction when I arrived. As a result the lobby and desk were a make-shift arrangement in the basement area with the entrance by the side alleyway. Also, my hallway was being painted during my stay, but I managed to get around the painter and the wet paint. My suite was large and sparsely […] furnished but comfortable. There were signs of wear and tear and hopefully the painter will paint the suite before long. There were few services at the Casanova, and I felt a little like I was camping out. The price was reasonable for a 3 night stay right on Ocean Drive at South Beach. If you want personal attention, glitz and "a scene" this is not the place for you. If you want a comfortable, quiet place to stay in the center of South Beach, this is a good deal. Mehr

This is my second stay at this hotel . The first time I stayed back in Early March , my experience was good. The location Is good and the room are huge. I was so impressed I decided to come again for June th weekend. Unfortunately for starters the elevator was not working and we had to take everything to the 4th floor. So back in March they said the […] pool was being repaired and would be done for the next week. Here we are months later and the same story next week. So no pool!!!!! Anyways so my toilet in the bathroom stops working in the morning for no reason. When I told the front desk they told me they can give me a plunger. So after trying the plunger, still didn't work they said I can use the one in the lobby. Remember no elevator and 4 th floor. Well long story short was not pleasent!!!! Maybe it was just my luck. The location was good and the rooms are nice and big. But unfortunately I won't be back!!!!!! Mehr

We arrived prior to check-in time and were able to get into our room! However, once we got in the room, we discovered a little pest in the kitchen. Nothing major but I'm quite scornful. We advised the front desk and they were accommodating in moving us to another room immediately and then even upgraded us once the larger room became available the next […] day. We had no further issues and the room size is WONDERFUL, even the most basic room! It is basically a comfortable sized one bedroom apartment. I would definitely stay here on my next visit to Miami. very spacious in comparison to all the other miami hotel rooms. i felt like i had my own one bedroom on Miami Beach.

Overall if you are just looking for a nice room ONLY then this is your place. If you are looking for a hotel with any kind of amenities then this is not your place!! Hot water in room didnt work, the entrance is down an alley and the walls are paper thin. It wasnt the worst but by far it is not the best. I guess you get what u pay for....

Perfect location, fun and nice staff (a rarity on South Beach), bar and Lounge in hotel, and big rooms (anothe rare find). The roof top pool unfortunately wasn't open, but the beach is right there, so it wasn't a big issue. It definitely the best place I've stayed at in South Beach for the price, convenience and location and great staff.

En fait c est plus qu un hôtel se sont des appartements tout confort; cuisine américaine totalement aménagée 2 télés une enceinte lecteur iPhone / iPod. La chambre est en marbre avec une vue incroyable sur ocean drive et la mer. La piscine sur le toit complète le tableau. Bref je recommande vivement cet hôtel.
