Ramada Galena - Galena

I was hesistant to stay at the hotel due to other comments about the water quality. We had no issues with that so maybe it has been resolved. Hotel is outside of Galena so we had to drive to historic areas and find parking, but it's right next to Ryan Mansion and some restaurants so that was nice.

Large pool for kids. Not deep, but bigger than most. Comfortable beds!

The hotel seemed run down. Worst of all the water in the sink and shower were bright rusty orange. Letting it run made it lighter, but we had to get bottled water to brush our teeth and drink.

Staff was wonderful

the room was a nice room but the bed was not comfortable, went home with a backache didn't sleep very well because of the bed. the love seat was to low to the ground hard to get out of and the chairs weren't very sturdy, the water was pretty rust, nice pool and hot tub

Decent hotel, however, the water quality is horrible! Tastes rusty! Lets just say i couldn't even brush my teeth or wash my face without feeling sick to my stomach!

the hotel was very nicely located in the center of Galena city. The place was very clean and stuff very helpful .I would recommend this hotel and use it in the future.

We had a great family time. The rooms were roomy and comfortable. The Pool and hot tub were warm and relaxing. The continental breakfast had a variety of food that everyone enjoyed. Thanks for an enjoyable and relaxing stay.

I booked 7 rooms for the weekend, not a single person had a problem. When you enter the lobby it is very inviting, the staff as well. The rooms were great, after a long day of shopping they were very comfortable and lots of pillows, love it. The shower was a little short, but so am I. Big bathroom and the extra vanity in the room was wonderful with […] a group of girls getting ready. Breakfast was good although there was no meat. Instant oatmeal, pastries, make your own waffles, pre-made french toast, yogurt & fruit, milk & juice. Coffee & cookies in the lobby all day. Don't miss the deck outback and the view. take a walk around the property, it is beautiful. The lake and fire pit were awesome, I would have loved to have an event here. The pool is huge, the exercise room was small, but if you really needed it, it was there and you would easily get 3 or 4 in there at a time. Microwave in the lobby with soda and snack machines. Very close to downtown., we came and went many times throughout the weekend. There is no elevator, there are only about 15 steps with a landing in between, it is not that hard,but if someone has a hard time with the stairs keep it in mind. We were up kind of late each night talking and doing girly things and we could not hear any other guests, the hotel was very quiet. And I should mention how cute the rooms were, country with quilts on the beds, very nice. Enjoy yourselves and stay here. Mehr

Nice hotel. Have stayed many times. Convenient to both downtown Galena and Dubuque (15-20 minutes). Breakfast was somewhat plain. Waffles were the only hot item. Other items included cereal, bagels, fruit, yogurt, etc. Didn't use the pool.

This was the second time I've stayed thier. Whenever I need to stay over night in Galena, this hotel will be my first choice of places to stay. The rooms and beds are huge and comdortable.

The rust in the water was the worst i have ever seen. You had to let the shower run for 5 minutes to get get rid of the brown color. It was so bad that you could not even brush your teeth with it and they were out of bottles of water to purchase since everyone was buying it. Don't stay here!

the air conditioner wouldnt work moved us to another room same thing

Excellent facility, very courteous service. Read some bad reviews regarding staying at this hotel and am glad I disregarded their opinion. Sounds like a competitor that is trying to drive business away from this place.

When I realized we were given a room on the 2nd floor, the receptionist was very willing to change our room to the first floor. My sister has trouble managing the stairs.

Staff are very accomdating and friendly

Overall the hotel was clean and comfortable. The only complaint I have is that on the first night of our stay there was a wedding with a lot of the wedding guests staying at the hotel. I would expect some partying to be going on after the wedding but not yelling, screaming, and running up and down the hallways until 3:00 AM. Treated very poorly by management and ownership. I would rather sleep in the mud with the mosquitoes and snakes before I would stay there again. Never again!

Continental breakfast could use meat and eggs.

Felt very secure, especially enjoyed the Indulge Spa and proximity to shops. Hotel personnel were friendly and helpful. I came strictly for leisure and had a wonderful, relaxing visit. Loved Galena and surroundings.

Need to get a water softener and an iron filter. Also the entryway has no lights[ I drove by it three times and I knew exactly where it was. The decor was nice, the peopple were friendly, but those two things make me say 'maybe not' to going there again.

The room is excellent for rest! and then you are off and ready to enjoy the small town atmosphere of Galena!!

I had a great experience at this hotel. The staff was friendly, the breakfast had a good selection and it was very clean. I would stay here again!

Wonderful stay, would go again. Very clean and quite, great breakfast.

This hotel is an honest value with good service. Granted the blinds didn't close and one of the bulbs was burned out in the nightstand, but the staff was courteous and responsive. This is a great value compared to nearby resort prices.

Clean, reasonably priced, quiet, good continental breakfast. Large indoor pool was great for lap swims. Area behind hotel had landscaped pond and the kids liked it. Would stay again.

The weekend we stayed there was also a wedding taking place and the wedding took priority over everything. We were left without a parking space upon returning at night and had to search for a spot. In addition, the hotel let us know upon speaking with the front desk that they have a mildew problem in the rooms. This lead to an unpleasent odor in the […] rooms. I left some very important papers in my room and the Staff was more the helpful returning them to me. The Hotel was centrally located for all our activies.

The room was clean and comfortable, although the furnishings were a bit dated. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel was a little farther from the historic district than I was expecting.
