Northgate Inn Saginaw - Saginaw

The room was nice and cool on this hot day we walked in. However the blower was difficult to turn down/off. Nice fridge/microwave and newly remodeled bath. Only 1 bar of soap and no kleenex but yet plenty of towels! When I used the hair dryer it blew the fuse which left the room in total darkness. Had to dress to walk to office, ring for management […] to reset fuse. Breakfast was very sparse. Parking right outside our door was nice and convenient. For the price I rather find another place and pay a little more. Mehr

Questionable hotel. We were looking for price and just wanted clean. The first room had just been cleaned with a very toxic cleaning fluid. Carpet was still wet and the door had been smashed. Made me wonder what the cover up was. Swore I was at the Norman Bates Motel. People were kind and moved us to a different room. Seemed to be the local rent a room […] and party place. We were looking for a hotel close to Frankenmuth but due to last minute booking on Memorial Day weekend, we ended up in Saginaw (about 25 min from Frankenmuth). We chose this hotel because it was pet friendly and cheaper than the other options. We arrived around 11pm and had schedule late checkin. No problems and price was less than what hotels.com […] quoted. Room was comfortable size-wise. Nothing spectacular but decently clean. Some of the fixtures needed updating, but it was functional and for the price, I was just glad it wasn't disguisting. Our biggest complaint was that they don't believe in fitted sheets on the beds. If I were staying again, I would bring my own with me. We ended up using the comforter as a fitted sheet the second night. Under the full-size sheet they laid over the king sized bed instead of a fitted sheet was a clear plastic cover on the mattress (like what the mattress comes in from the factory) and since the sheet they laid over was so small, the first night we basically slept directly on the plastic. However I was so tired that I honestly didn't notice. Room was spacious and left plenty of room for crating the dogs. Plenty of dresser drawers and hanging space for our things. Loved parking 4 feet from our room door- made loading in and out exceptionally easy! The continental breakfast wasn't anything to write home about, but again, for the price I didn't care. There were two kinds of cold cereal (Raisin Bran and Fruit Loops), white and raisin bagels with jelly or cream cheese spread, milk and oj. The owner doesn't get the breakfast around unless someone comes up for it. I assume not many people partake, however it suited our needs and saved us the money of having to go somewhere. Overall, i'd stay there again because the value for the price was good and the hotel was decent. Mehr

The bed didn't have fitted sheets and also had plastic matress cover on it and the bed was very uncomfortable. Towels were very rough, Price wasn't bad. Uncovered fixture on ceiling.
