Gardenia Inn - San Antonio

The home is lovely, our room "Lilly" was lovely - (the bathroom is not for large people) Breakfast was good. The location is close to everything. Nice Inn keeper. Complimentary waters, sodas, chocolates were in our room.

Very close to the River Walk with a trolley that runs right around the corner. Several very nice restaurants within a few blocks. The Inn keeper, John, made us feel right at home. Breakfast was great!

My husband and I recently celebrated our Anniversary and enjoyed 3 nights at the Gardenia Inn. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. John is a wonderful host and is very knowledgeable about the area and gives great recommendations. The Inn is relaxing, breakfast is delicious and location is great!

Stay here! Close to restaurants, the riverwalk. Innkeeper was very helpful. Every need was anticipated: wine glasses and corkscrew right outside the room door. Beautiful room, very warm and hospitable. Coffee and breakfast was also very nice. We will be back!

Wonderful accommodations and excellent location. B&B is served by the trolley which runs from 7 am to 9 pm. Walking distance to riverwalk and several good restaurants. Highly recommend this B&B as an alternative to hotel if you want to be near river walk and downtown sites.

Charming and quiet!

Enjoyed my stay very much. Great location to walk to the downtown some restaraunts and clubs nearby. Great neighborhood to take a walk in and look at the painted ladies. Friendly cat. Great breakfast.

John makes a nice breakfast but its limited no matter what you pay. So, think of it as enough to last for the morning. If you'll be staying for more than 2 nights it'll be ideal. The room reservation was mixed up at least 2 times so we settled into the Lily room. No harm to try, but I'll reconsider the other inns nearby. They look equally appealing […] :) Mehr

Very happy with everything about this Inn. Lucked out and stayed on First Friday. Had a great time at the street fair.

We totally enjoyed our stay at the Gardenia. John is an excellent host and puts out a great breakfast. Always enjoyed our morning conversations with him over coffee. The surrounding neighborhood is full of historic homes and is an excellent place to walk. Also, walking distance to the River Walk. Couldn't beat the convenience. Wonderful place to stay! Very nice and quiet neighborhood and the swing in the front was a great place to sit at night with a glass of wine!! A restaurant close by and an infamous cafe across the street! Wonderful hospitality, room was wonderful, bed was very comfy, needless to say, we enjoyed our stay!

i loved this hotel. john was great and everything was really wonderful. Home cooking was great and location in town and comfort were really nice! I will be back!

Great access to downtown (15 min walk) or 3 mins by car, with trolley on the corner. Located on quiet street in historic King William neighborhood, with some top restaurants within a 1-5 minute walk. Friendly hosts, good breakfasts, with excellent accommodations. Would stay there again.

We had a fantastic stay at the Gardenia Inn. John was a wonderful and accomodating host. His breakfasts were delicious! The Inn is beautiful and in a great old historic neighborhood a short distance from the Riverwalk, La Villita, and downtown. There are wonderful restaurants next door. John's recommendations for restaurants were right on the money […] every time! The room was quiet but the shower was awfully small (the one negative). We would highly recommend the Gardenia Inn to anyone. We are already looking forward to our next visit! Mehr

The Inn is wonderfully appointed with great care to the details. I slept very well on a very comfortable bed. I also noticed that no strong chemicals were used for the linen etc., which is a nice plus. The Inn is lovely in a neighborhood setting, and it does have a nice home-like atmosphere. We had a great stay at the Gardenia Inn. It is very nice and quite and the surrounding neighborhood had lots of this to do.

This was our first B&B experience. We felt we had to whisper and tip toe to not disturb other guests. There was a train that ran at night and kept us up one night. The food was great and healthy too. The bed was comfortable. It was one of the first times I didn't long for my Tempurpedic at home. Overall it was a good experience.

our stay at Gardenia B & B was the most wonderful experience we've ever had. the accomodations were very clean and well maintained. the owners were so nice and were very enjoyable to chat with. they made the most delicious breakfasts too. nothing about breakfast was typical of most hotel stays but in a good way though.they had a blend of coffee that […] was so perfectly balanced and we enjoyed it on the nice and shady rear balcony each morning they were very helpful about getting to and from the riverwalk. . when we go back to san antonio, we're not risking staying somewhere else when we know about this magnificent b & b. highly recommended if you want to stay somewhere special. definately worth the extra money over staying at a large hotel with hundreds of other people. This was one of the nicest B&B's we have ever stayed in. Just a lovely old home with all the conveniences of modern travel. We have already recommended it to several friends and will be going back, for sure.

We loved this bed and breakfast! The building is beautiful and is located a short 3 blocks from the River Walk trail that leads directly to the main part of the River Walk. The hosts are gracious and provided a lovely breakfast each morning, even accomodating special dietary needs. I looked at many of the large hotels before selecting this bed and breakfast […] and couldn't have been more pleased with my choice--at about half of what the large hotels were charging. Mehr

This was my first stay at a Bed and Breakfast and it was much better than I expected. A very "welcoming" atmosphere. The service was excellent and the breakfast was delicious. Very convenient location. I would definitely stay here again and will look for a B and B anywhere I go from here out.

Such an adorable place, gorgeous surroundings. Lovely park a block or so away, and only a quick wall to the Alamo and river walk! We were very pleased. Would recommend to anyone!
